He's the best professor I've had at Tyler Junior College.

He is an awesome teacher fun quizzes 3 big test then your final and he give extra credit if he feels like the class is participating he likes it when the class shows interest. It would be very hard to fail his class!!!

Great teacher. Very Helpful. Very easy to speak with and ask questions. He makes the class fun and interesting. Be sure to study powerpoints and read the book. Some test questions come from the practice tests in the book. Unless you NEVER show up or do your work you should NOT by any means fail this class.

Mr. Selman is a great Psych teacher! Our class was always laughing and joking around:) He does stay on topic though and does a great job teaching on what he tests over. LOVED him! He gives extra credit opportunities and study sheets for exams. Easy A if you read!

Mr. Selman is so far my favorite professor this semester. Most of the time, he lets you take home his quizzes. Turn it in late he'll take off a point. Talks about sex a lot, but everything else is really hilarious. Test are hard if you don't study or read. Gives study packets for each test and gives 5 extra bonus points when you turn them in.

Mr. Selman is the best teacher, he inspired me to major in Psychology. He's so funny but when it's time to be serious he knows how to really get down to the point. When he teaches it's easy to understand and if you don't understand he encourages you to speak up, or to come after class. Also, he is good at getting back to your emails quickly.

Mr. Selman was one of the best psychology teachers I've had! Incredibly funny, and works it into his lectures making them really interesting! Quizzes after you learn each chapter, but they're easy & short. Also participation is KEY! If you get into the discussion, you'll do great! Uses powerpoints so it's really easy to take notes. He has a quirky way of tying everything to a superhero (or villain) which keeps the class laughing. Explains everything in terms you can understand while giving great examples. Gives the opportunity for the class to be involved in the lectures which helps to make the class more interesting instead of just talking at you like most professors.

Selman is hands down my favorite professor so far. He's really cool and laid back and everything you need to know is in the power points that are always available online. Definitely go to class because he is very into discussions, but trust me you won't find yourself wanting to skip. Easy-peasy if you take your notes.

I first entered this class thinking it may be like a standard High School blow off class, but after being there a week I grew to love it and look forward to his class. You can tell he's very passionate about psychology and he keeps everyones attention. If you read the chapters, show up, and study you will pass this class.

He is literally the best professor I have ever taken. He is hilarious and loves DC/Marvel comics and Star Wars! Make sure you participate in discussions and it helps if you know facts about comics and movies! He has reviews online for the test that you can turn in for 5 extra points.

This class is amazing. Professor Selman is super funny and fair to all students. He cares for his students and gives a whole lot of extra credit, if you put in the work. Work load is a little more than a typical class, but not difficult. Do your work, show up to class and participate and you will pass with an A easily.

Professor Selman is a great professor. He is very clear on his slides and answers question students ask well. He engages the class in a fun way. If you do the quizzes, do the study guide (which gives you 5 points on the test), come to class you should do well. He is my favorite professor by far.

He is AMAZING. Professor Selman is the coolest and most interesting professor ever. You can pass if you do not study, however if you want to make higher than a C you must take the time to study and do your work.

I had him for PSYC 2301, and that class was my favorite. He says you need the book, but honestly, if you show up and listen, you won't need it. He goes over everything that he tests over and skips the things that he won't. He is very caring and makes any subject super interesting. 10/10 recommend.

Attendance is key, as 95% of what is on the test is discussed in his lectures, plus why would anyone want to miss out on one of his lectures anyway??

I've taken Selman for 3 out of 4 semesters and he has been amazing. He makes his lectures understandable while still going into depth. Makes it east for non-sync majors to do well in his class. He is hilarious and will help you whenever you need it.

Simplifies some complicated topics to the best of his abilities, and does a pretty good job of keeping lectures interesting and interactive. He will ask a lot of questions in class. Do your best to answer them, they will come back as bonus points to help you in the long run

Very adamant on saying I would write X down because youll probably see it on the test. Pay attention in class and study notes & youll keep a high grade!

Mr. Selman is HILARIOUS!! He is a very nice teacher, he tells super funny stories and that how I remember the material. All you do is take notes and then in a couple of weeks you have a test. Test are easy if you study. He gives out study guides that are accessible on Canvas and really help for the test and if you do it he will give you 5+ on test

Selman will absolutely be remembered by me when Im 30. He sends out weekly class updated and he loves Lord of the Rings so he lines the weeks up as if we were in the LOTR story and to be honest its the highlight of my week, every week. He does study guide that actually help and lets you exempt if you have an A. 10/10 professor

This is the second time I have taken a class from Professor Selman. He is Goan excellent teacher. If you put in the effort, you should be able to make an A in any of his classes! It can be difficult but hes always there for help and feedback on assignments. Highly recommend.

Professor Selman was my favorite Professor at TJC I learned more in his class than all my other classes combined. If you're a Psychology major he prepares you for moving forward in your degree. Write out the notes then watch the lecture videos and add to them you will make an A. He's a great Professor!

I took the honors course and I learned a lot!. Professor Selman is so sweet and is passionate about what he teaches. He sends out long weekly emails- read every one of them! He gives a lot of extra credit and other things to boost your grade. If you show that you're trying, he will usually help you out. Definitely participate in every discussion!

FAVORITE ONLINE PROFESSOR! I had him for both honor & non-honor online classes. He is hilarious & has awesome lecture videos. Tough grader so make sure to do your best. Tests can be a little hard so study! He does compensate for hard work. Cares for students. He sends reminders out about assignments. Replies fast to emails. Love this professor.

I will 1oo% back up my Selman as the best professor on campus. He is an excellent teacher and has made great efforts for students to understand the material. He isn't super fast, and not crazy about grades. Just do your best and he will help you along the way. Most would consider his classes as just fun. His essays are moderate and interesting.

Prof. Selman is an exceptional teacher, he makes wonderful connections within his class & his passion is apparent, along w/ his experience. Professor Selman does a great job teaching the material and incorporating the class in discussions in a fair and respectful way. He is funny and openminded and I really enjoy his classes. Selman did a phenomenal job alongside Button. It's difficult to talk about them as separate individuals since what's at the heart and soul of this class is their co-teaching methodology. Even if you're not going into a psychology-related discipline, I would highly recommend this course. PSYC-2319, take it! Make sure it's in person, though!

Professor Selman (along with Professor Button) made an excellent class. Their great chemistry makes for some of the best discussions I've had in any psychology class, both for education and food for thought. There wasn't a single moment I was bored taking this class.

Professor Selman is one of the best psych professors I have had. He has clear grading policies and offers plenty of extra credit. His lectures are never dull, even when discussing hard material. There are accessible weekly open-note quizzes. If you pay attention and read, you will do great on tests! He is also open to questions and input.

Laramie Selman (he likes to go by Clint) is an absolutely amazing professor that makes sure you're excited about the class and constantly smiling throughout the lectures. Paying attention comes with ease as he is naturally captivating in how he teaches and a great personality to get to know. Assignments aren't too hard either.

Professor Selman did his best to associates real life events in order to help the students understand the lectures. He was also encouraging to all the students especially if you attended class, showed interest and participated. Most of the students liked and interacted with him.

He made the classroom very comfortable to speak on our opinions. I am a person who asks a lot of questions, and he always would stay after class to answer me or just reply in an email. I at one point was very stressed trying to get an A in the class and he was very helpful and worked with me with getting extra credit

This is the first class I have had with two professors. Button/Selman are amazing. The class is Social Psychology. Button represents sociology and Selman is our Psychology Professor. It's like taking a class where two great minds with different perspectives are trying to find a deeper understanding and you get to be apart of the conversation.

I would definitely take this social psych class with Professor Selman and Button and would recommend this class to anyone interested

This is a very down-to-earth professor and is really good at getting back to students outside of class with emails. He really cares about the students and what they think of the class and he also love it when they participate. He's funny so it helps the class have a very calm environment

this professor is great at getting the Class to Communicate and they always keep my attention. He grades good and gives you everything you need to succeed.

First and foremost, that grade doesn't reflect the professor, it reflects my laziness. I would recommend Selman for any psychology class that you can take him in.

We was always open to discussing and giving more detail until you understood the topic. He also doesn't teach for test and quizzes, but instead teaches you the skills you need in life and has you understand them which then leads you to excel in class. This class Is very hard to fall, and I recommend all to take to learn a lot about the world.
