Professor Schumann is very clear with her expectations for anything she assigns. Lots of writing, which makes sense for a writing class. My one issue was sometimes I got the feeling that she felt bugged by questions. Make sure to get accommodations for attendance in this class if you have a disability, I wish I had in hindsight.

It is always expected to complete the homework before class. The lectures were mostly based on the homework. Each lecture was relaxed, and students were able to talk to each other.

Professor Schumann doesn't lecture for long periods and really emphasizes group work, which is a great change of pace at BYU. The workload can be a lot at times, usually when papers are due, but it isn't anything over the top. Class typically ended early.

She is very good at making a connection with each student and doing all she can to help them not only in her class, but within all aspects. She is engaging and explains the material well. This class is very much focused on the writing process. As someone who generally does not like writing, I found this class at times stretched me as a writer. Doctor Schumann gives ample time for each project and gave feedback each step of the way. Plenty of extra-credit opportunities.

Prof. Schumann is a great teacher. Go to her office hours and ask lots of questions! If you tend to be absent a lot I would not take from her. There are lots of assignments in class that you can't make up outside of class and she takes attendance seriously. She respects effort and when you don't put much in, she will grade accordingly.

While there are a lot of papers and homework assignments in this class, Professor Schumann does a good job of providing plenty of resources to help out. She always hosted office hours and conferences for any tips you might need, and always recommended the writing center as well. I didn't do that hot in this class, but I think I learned a lot.

She does have some quizzes but there is usually time to prepare for them before class. She uses a variety of teaching styles such as books, quizzes, and discussions.

Larisa's WRTG 311 class helped me break through barriers with writing! There are a lot of small assignments but as long as you keep up on it, they are easy and a lot of them help you with the bigger assignments/papers. Definitely check canvas a lot because that's where all her posts and assignments are, and sometimes extra credit stuff pops up!

I would highly recommend this professor. We had very little homework and she gave us plenty of time to do it. She also always have office hours open so you can go talk to her about any questions. This class is mandatory but if you go she makes the lectures fun and you get to do group projects. Overall, loved this class and professor.

I absolutely loved taking writing 150 from Ms Schumann. She is super funny, caring, and gives lots of chances for extra credit. She also gives examples for the assignments which help me a ton. I already signed up for another class she is teaching because she was so good.

This class has been really helpful in learning how to write. Since we write a lot, I have definitely had a lot of practice in writing styles and citations. There is a fair amount of group assignments in class and peer reviews, but outside of class there is a lot of prep for each class. Get ready to work hard and learn a lot.

Larisa Schumann provides clear directions, valuable assignments, oppurtunities for experiences, and many resources in and out of class like workshops, meetings with her, RWC visits, etc. I've loved this class and have always felt connected with the students and material as we learn.

It's a pretty easy class. We usually have quite a bit of homework, but it makes sense because I did a Tue & Thur class period. The class was nice and small, so we could make friends and work together a lot.

She is a great professor, and I learned a lot in her class! While she is a harsh grader, she gives helpful feedback and is always willing to help you improve. She holds office hours frequently, and I took advantage of those, which helped me become more confident with what I was turning in!

The Canvas layout is not ideal, so ensure you're viewing the 'Unit Overviews'. You might miss things otherwise. Sometimes grades are unclear (canvas feedback may contradict one-on-one feedback or class instruction).

Although this is a challenging class, I would recommend taking it. Make sure to participate in class and read the required material-- it's not too difficult. Be extra careful, however, when you write your assignments and essays; she is a tough grader, so make sure you follow the rubric perfectly.

Online textbook and it feels like there were so many reflections. this class wasn't hard per say but just annoying it felt like there was a lot of busy work. but she is a nice professor. personally, i think the late policy is kinda harsh and her setting some deadline like right as class begins and not midnight of that day is kinda like bruh ugggh.

Dr Schumann is a really nice person, but she grades extremely hard for a GE with class averages for many essays being a C even though we all met with her and also a tutor to get feedback before submitting. The hardest part of this class was the essays but there were a lot of other things that aren't bad. The points for rough drafts saved my grade.
