You MUST see a tutor or the TA, Shtrahman is hard to follow, BUT if you take good notes, do the homework (which there is everynight) and put in the time, it is very possbile to get an A. Try not to take Larisa unless you wanna waist a bunch of time and still possibly fail the class. Basically the only people passing her are the people who already knew the math before taking this class. She gave us a thing for extra credit but it didn't help much and she doesn't care if you fail. Half the people dropped the class after the midterm.

Honestly she wasn't that bad. Definitely makes you work for a good grade but is willing to give extra credit after major exams. Some days I felt she wanted students to succeed and other days I felt she wanted us to all fail, so you never know what you are going to get. She does give an excessive amount of homework. Not the best, but not the worst.

She isn't that bad of a teacher but you do get a lot of homework and a quiz every weekend. None of the work was that bad but you do have to somewhat pay attention in class. Overall there was just a really heavy workload.

Quite frankly, this is the worst class I think I have ever taken. The content wasn't hard but she moves way too fast and has little respect for her student's grades. I honestly would just take MATH 101 at a community college or something.

I went to calc BC in high school and still had to withdraw from her class cause her test and amount of homework are ridiculous. No calculators are allowed so she will give you crazy fractions and decimals and expect you to just know it like youve been teaching the criteria for 30 years.

This is the hardest class ever. She does not care about her students in the slightest bit. Her course page was confusing, and her work was so much to the point of over-stress. Most people have to withdrawal because of the difficulty and unnecessary amount of work. She gives you tons of work and quizzes a day before a big exam too. HARD DO NOT TAKE

First day of class and I already have 3 things due. I haven't learned any of the material because she just assumes everyone already knows it. I'm gonna stay in the course cause I need it for courses in the future, but I might fail because she isn't teaching us anything. Class is huge too so no individual assistance. Someone fire this woman.

She is good at teaching the subject, but we had an ABSURD amount of homework worth basically nothing in your grade. It was really easy for me because I've learned algebra before, but if you struggle with it definitely do not take her class. HOURS of homework every week. Goodluck.

The final grade consists of two exams and the final. If you don't understand the basic concepts, you won't be able to pass - she puts the hardest types of questions on the exams to make sure you understand all the smaller concepts she has taught. Don't cheat on the homework and find someone that can help that isn't her or the TA's (they all suck)

Larisa is notoriously bad. Most people take her because they are forced. If you're a freshman I'd just switch my schedule before classes even start and plan to take algebra at a community college or find another professor if it's offered.

I've never had a professor that assigns such an unreasonably large and equally useless amount of hw. 3 HW assignments + a quiz EVERY week. Our first exam covered what we learned over the first two MONTHS of class- unsurprisingly the class average was 64%. Be prepared to teach yourself the content if you want to pass.

Looking through Rate my professor I didn't think she could be that bad. Well she was worse than that. The amount of homework given for 1 point was insane I would spend at least 1 and a half hours doing 20 problems. She loves giving quizzes every week based off things we didn't even learn yet. Go to every class, but be prepared to teach yourself.
