The only reason she doesn't have a "5" for easy is because it is calc. Most people who come into this course have taken calc previously. Since I am not one of those people the class is tough but Hipp explains through the work in a very easy to understand way. If you have any issues she is always happy to help. I would definitely take her again.

Professor Hipp is a great teacher! The material is a little tough if you have no background in calculus. If you do, then this class is a breeze. She gives super easy 5 question quizzes and only 3 exams that are very similar to the reviews. Homework is optional and she gives extra credit if you do it. Best intro calc teacher take her if you can!! She offers extra credit if you do the online homework and go to class. Also, if you make an earned A (without extra credit) you'll exempt the exam. Professor Hipp is a really nice lady! Really cares about your grade, so much that if your final grade is higher than your lowest test grade she'll drop the lowest grade. Going to class is important because if you suck at math she explains things thoroughly. She's really helpful during office hours especially if you're having trouble with homework.

Professor Hipp is definitely one of the best math professors I've ever had, including classes I took before college. She lays out the material in a way that makes sense (which is much needed bc I'm not a math person) At the end of the semester, if you have an A, you can exempt her final. She gives a reasonable amount of hw and her tests are easy.

She's a very nice professor to have for math classes, she helps you out if you are struggling in class by telling you the schedules of SI Sessions so that you can ask anything you are still struggling at. Loved having her and was able to be exempt from the final for getting an a, and Im not a math person whatsoever. The homework can be annoying but only if you wait last minute like me. Take her!!

She is awesome, she gives you many extra credit opportunities and uploads study guides for the exams that are exactly like the exam. If you ask her a question she will answer it thoroughly and help you get to the right answer - even during an exam or quiz. She is willing to accommodate with everyone and really cares about her students.

If you aren't good at math, take her. She explains it in a way that is easy to understand and super approachable. She provides tons of examples in order to help with her homework (online and not my favorite) and she provides a review sheet before the exam and it's almost like the actual exam. I would 100% take her again if I could.

Mrs. Hipp is good at explaining the concepts in an easy-to-understand fashion. She grades extremely leniently (tons of partial credit), and even with bombing two quizzes, I was able to get a grade high enough to exempt the final. You have to buy the e-book code to do homework and she takes attendance every class, but overall it was really easy.

Professor Hipp is like a mom to all her students. She is very approachable and caring and will work with you. She is great at explaining the material and give A LOT of examples of each concept. Her study guides are also basically the test.

No matter which professor you get, Math 122 will be difficult, but Mrs. Hipp tries her best to make the topics easy to understand. She really wants you to pass so she does whatever she can to make that happen. She's one of the sweetest women I've ever met and I 11/10 recommend her for any math class!!

If you have to take Math 122, take Hipp. Shes super nice and relaxed. My class was about 80 people but it didnt feel overcrowded or that she was inaccessible. She gives 3 tests, about 8 quizzes, and theres online HW with unlimited attempts thats worth like 20% of your grade. If you have over a 90 you dont have to take the final. Take her.

One of the best math teachers. Took her for math for elem. teachers. Online homework, quiz every week or so, and a couple exams, but not hard at all for someone who never took math in high school past pre-calculus. People complained that it was hard, but if you can't get an A in this class you shouldn't be teaching math to kids.

Dr. Hipp is the best of the professors that teaches MATH221 & MATH222. She genuinely cares about the students in her class, makes it an effort to get to know them in a non-intrusive way, and is there to help students who need that extra help. Her lectures are fun, and she has very in-depth study guides for each exam, so it's very easy to pass!

Not too hard of a class for me, but I took AP calc in high school so this was just much easier content. Homework online but not too much or anything. Was up to you about attendance if you wanted to watch later. About 6 quizzes, 3 exams, and the final were the main assignments, plus an overall homework grade.

I am not good at math, but Professor Hipp is so good at teaching the material. Her lectures are mostly working examples which helped me a lot. If you do the homework and look over the examples you will do great in this class.

Such an easy class, she basically just goes over definitions and does a few example problems each class, and then the tests are exactly like the study guide. Proof quizzes were open-note and you could work together. Only a few short MathXL assignments. She cares about her students and is flexible/accommodating.

I started off the first test with a 67 and ended the course with an A+. Mrs. Hipp works with her students and is an excellent teacher who makes learning fun! Genuinely the best math teacher I've ever had. Her notes are amazing and she explains everything very well. You definitely have to show up and actually pay attention though because everything taught sorta builds up on each other and all her notes are taken in class and not posted online. I struggled in the beginning of her class because I never took calculus beforehand and she sometimes went a little fast with things I didn't understand. But after asking for clarification and really focusing on her study guides instead of the homework I improved in this class. She is very nice if you participate and really wants you to succeed.

Some questions on WileyPlus are difficult but they prepare you for the quizzes and exams. She is very helpful and understanding. I came with very little knowledge, but I have learned now.

You have to go to class everyday (she does attendance). But, if you come to class take notes and study the study guide (they are similar to exam, just different numbers). You'll be good even if you're not good at math. If you have a 95% going into the final exam you don't have to take the final. Lastly, she's a reasonable grader.

I get anxious around math courses, but Professor Hipp always voiced her lectures calmly. Simply put, she is a good math teacher. She makes it very easy to succeed in class, and the class is graded by quizzes, tests, and homework. The homeworks are not long, the quizzes are max 7 questions, and the tests are MAX 25 questions. Tests are exactly like review if not easier. Enjoyed the course and she made it easy!

Id give her 6 stars if I could. 2 quizzes before each test- 3 total and the final replaces your lowest test grade. 122 is a wake-up call for many freshman/sophomores and certainly was for me. I was failing the class, but after going to Prof. Hipp for help, she helped me through probably one of the most stressful times here and I ended up passing. Hipp is a solid math professor. The exams closely match her practice tests, so doing those is key. The workload is manageable, and she explains concepts well. unstuckstudy was a big help for study prep alongside the practice problems.

Prof. Hipp is a great teacher for 122. Would recommend all to take her. It's a real class with in-person tests, but if you finish with an A and a 93 test average, you are exempt from the final exam. I had a 92.5, and she let me off the hook. One quiz grade is dropped.

AMAZING math professor. She truly cares about her students and makes an effort to know you and converse with the class. She write her notes via a projector at the same time with you and ALWAYS is open for questions. I didn't go to her office hours, but I hear she was very helpful during them. Study guides are fantastic too!

Loved Professor Hipp! She is very kind and keeps math simple. As someone who hasn't always understood calculus/math in previous classes, she explained the material so well that I was never lost! The only negative thing is that she handwrites her notes and doesn't post them so you can get behind if you don't go to class. Highly recommend overall!

Mrs.Hipp is the sweetest professor and will make sure you pass. Quizzes and exams are straight forward (quizzes only like 5 questions and exams only 20 questions) and you able to drop your lowest quiz at the end of the semester. Super easy to reach and is always there to answer any questions. I would definitely take her if you have the option to!
