Very smart professor, easy to understand, and very straight forward.

VERY nice guy. He keeps you on your toes, by calling on people to make sure they're following along. When I signed up for this course I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong. He made it interesting. I recomend this class to anyone, even if it's not a requirement for you.

Mr. Adams is one of four quality instructors I've taken classes with in my 3 years at hartnell. He doesn't play teacher games and he's not one of those **** teachers whos out to fail people(S. He's very direct about what is expected of you and emphasises whats needed to pass the class.

One of the best teacher's I've ever had at Hartnell. If I couldn't understand something, he explained it. His class helped me find out which political party I truly belong to without any of the biasness that comes through from some teachers. I recommend him to anyone.

Larry Adams is one of the fairest professors I have ever had. He wants every student to be able to express their own views without fear of offending anyone. He does not being his own opinions in to the class, unless asked about his opinion by a student. He wants to help students to understand the Constitution of the United States. He is great!

I had him for PoliSci1 during the Fall08 semester and every time I see him on campus, he goes out of his way to say hi. He was thorough and made the subject matter interesting and kept it engaging. I'm trying to fit his PoliSci3 class into my upcoming semester schedule, even though it's not required, because he's such a wonderful instructor.

One of the best history/political science instructors I've ever had. Go to class and read the textbook, almost everything is open book, but that doesn't mean you don't have to go to class. You'll learn a lot more if you attend.

This is an incredibly well organized instructor who absolutely knows what he's doing. I have no idea what he is doing at a place like Hartnell, because the quality of his lectures is way above the level of any community college class I've seen. This class is easy if you are a remotely competent test taker, because he is crystal clear all the time.

I began that class without a single interest in Political Science, and now I go in everyday excited to see what he will teach us. You have to memorize a lot but it will do you good in the long run. I didn't know what to expect going in to this class, now I can't wait for his classes to begin and they are over much too quickly for me. He is very organized, prepared and linear in his teaching style. He doesn't have a lot of time to waste shooting the bull during class though.

He' a very serious teacher and actually cares about his students. His lectures can be fast paced but he highly encourages students to ask questions. Literally everything he teaches is on his tests. When it comes to tests, he helps you prepare the class before and its extremely helpful! He does offer extra credit which really helps but its limited.

This professor really CARES about his students. His lectures are everything you need to know about the systems of government, and the political behavior in our present. Honestly, I don't like this class. He is very easy and gives a lot of extra credit but I just don't like political science. His midterms can be challenging if you don't study because you have to write an essay plus multiple questions. If this class was not a requirement I would never take it. The only plus is that he does not give hw.

Everyone can get A in POL-1 as long as they read what he tells them to read or memorize. He always offers extra credit during lecture. He is very serious, but he really wants his students to learn and get good grade. Just don't come to class late, especially on the first day of class.

Lecture heavy, speaks fast but repeats and clarifies if you need him to (make sure you take highlighters + different colored pens for notes). Participation is expected. Textbooks are cheap and used for book quizzes. Let's you know exactly what will be on midterms + tips on how Qs will be laid out, and what is expected of essays. Amazing professor!

This is the type of class you don't want to be late to. You walk in late you will get crap from it besides you grown why are you late? Genuine kind heart and he shows it . I've never had a professor that's this confident in his words. His lectures are thorough and sometimes difficult, but he will review everything in order to make sure you pass. The beginning of the class is very difficult in order to weed out those who don't truly care, and by the end, you will get out of this class exactly what you put into it.

I took two of Mr. Adams classes and in both of them, he excellently taught the material for the course. He puts on the board what he says in an easy-to-understand format and tells students the important material. He is strict, so it is best to be punctual and stay focused in class.

Took Pol-1 because it was required but ended up majoring in political science because he was such an amazing professor. In order to pass you definitely have to go to class everyday but it is 100% worth it. You are never bored. His lectures are great and hes such an inspirational man. Great guy, but DO NOT BE LATE, you will have the embarressment of a lifetime. Syllabus was straight forward, but as we transitioned online everything changed, all our old assignments were diregarded so it was as though we started on a new slate. I took professor Adams at 8 am. I had to make sure to arrive to class on time because he does not allow late students. The syllabus had all the exact dates of tests or assignments due. Quizzes are easy because he gives you the page numbers to search for the answers. Midterms are easy if you study the study guide because it has the same questions.

Took Adams during the Fall 2020 semester and he was amazing!!! His class was probably the only reason I got through the online semester! His lectures are really engaging and the exams are super easy. Show up, do the extra credit, go to his study sessions, and youll get an A without a doubt! Literally ended this semester with a 105% in his course!

Larry has so many good qualities and really makes an effort so that you can pass. lucky he is in Hartnell because honestly the dude would be perfect in a top university. Took Professor Adams for POL-1 Spring 22 and before the semester started i was dreading to take this class. It turned out to be one of the best because of the professor. BEST professor so far! This Professor is literally THAT professor you'd always reccomend. He's clear in what he teaches, what he's going to provide, and what you as a student will do. Sometimes he speaks a bit too fast but for the online course, I did get the chance to go back if I missed something. I took his class for Spring 2022!

I was scared of taking political science but Professor Adams made it easy while being straightforward during his lectures. His AQ's were very easy if you paid attention during his lectures, all the information is there. He gives you extra credit opportunities and his grading is very clear.

One of the best professors I've had. If you need a polsci credit, take it with Adams. His class is very easy & he's a likable guy. Grades pretty much only on open note online quizzes. Most of the questions are using links he provides, or otherwise content from class, so you don't have to worry about it. Just show up, enjoy his class, and get an A

He tells you exactly what's on the AQs so unless you aren't paying attention, it's easy to pass. There's also no midterms or finals and all the AQs are open note. He also regularly provides extra credit opportunities. He teaches with a mostly unbiased political opinion and there is rarely any Socratic seminars.

He is a great professor. He assigned zoom lectures for you to watch and then a quiz each week.

One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Taking this class online was just a weekly Zoom you had to watch with a quiz that was based on everything that was in that Zoom lecture. Extra credit is offered which is a tremendous help. Highly recommend if you need a course to fulfill your units.

Amazing professor. Only homework are AQs which are take home quizzes that shouldn't take long and are based on notes that he provides for you during class so it is hard to get a bad score if you follow along. He is very straightforward and very easy to understand. He will pause to answer any questions that may come up at any point in the lecture.

I enjoyed this class. Mr. Adams is straight forward about what is on his AQ tests (at home quizzes) which are open notes. Make sure to attend class because AQs are based on in class lectures. No other homework.Stay off of your phone during class and make sure you're on time-tardiness and distractions bug him. He offers occasional extra credit.

Very informative class, goes over tons of topics. AQs are fairly easy but if you don't pay attention you might miss the correct answer, attend zoom meetings if you can't he will send a link for you to watch. You need to watch in order to pass the weekly quizzes(AQs). Make sure to complete them on time bc he does not reopen assignments for anybody.

He is a very chill teacher on Zoom, he doesn't care if u show up or not, just watch the recordings and do the AQs (at home, open note tests) and ur chillin. Your grade consists of weekly AQs and two RAEs. Light easy class, he should be your first option.

The best teacher on campus!!!!!!. Easy class. gives extra credit opportunities, during class. no exams. only homework are quizzes(open notes) they are opened for a week. makes class fun. very straight forward on being on time. class is a participation kind the whole class responds when he asks a question. reviews quizzes & what he taught last class

Online lectures were optional to attend weekly but must be watched in order to get a good grade on the weekly tests. Very specific and clarifies what the answers are to the tests. He emphasizes greatly on the wording of the tests, which are directly stated in the online lectures. Great, informative lectures and will answer emails with questions.

Professor Adams is awesome! His lectures are educational while also weaving in personal anecdotes to keep the class entertained. Coursework isn't overly difficult; if you take notes from the lecture and do flash cards before, you'll be fine. Just make sure to pay attention while taking tests—he's serious about deadlines. Responds to email fast!

Professor Larry's class is lecture-heavy. I advise taking notes, since his exams are open-book and overall extremely easy. Don't listen to anyone telling you not to take his class; they probably didn't do their work. He is very funny, loves telling stories, and hands out extra credit! Easiest A+ I have ever received! #5stars

Professor Adams was such an amazing and hilarious POL-1 professor ever. He definitely made all his AQ's very clear and understandable for all his students to be successful in this course. He offered lots of extra credit opportunities that had to be completed in the classroom setting.
