Very easy class. he basically gives you the answers the class before the tests. there are also extra credit opportunities.

DB is the coolest man ever. It's really amusing because he thinks he's so funny. He thinks very highly of himself and his daughter. Review sheets are given the class before the test with all the answers. It's easy and really fun if you like classical music.

This teachers way easy. He gives a study guide for the tests which basically tells you everything. Easy A with minimal studying. A main part of the test is memorizing like a few seconds of a song and identifying it.

This class is an easy A class. if you just memorize the name of the songs and who SOB who made it. thats all. take 15 minutes for each exam. Very respectful person. I strongly recommand him.

the class itself is kind of boring. very easy. he was a nice guy. make sure you know the music/composers/musicians for the exams, and study the sheet he gives before the exams. very easy class. the play reports are easy and worth the points.

boring, but easy to pass in his class. The exams consisted of identifying music, and you had to write concert reports (easy!!) Very easy to pass his class, and he's very nice. He's just a little boring.

DB is way chill. If you need an extra class for some credit and don't want to work hard for an "A" then this is the class for you. No homework. His lectures can get quite boring so just see it as and extra hour and a half to get some sleep.

And he treats you like your in junior high, nobody is allowed in the room 2 minutes late, or he stops the whole class to embarrass them. Exams are pretty easy, though, just beware...

Pretty cool professor. Shares stories of many adventures in his life. Well-rounded and extremely knowledgable about music. Quite possibly the EASIEST class at SCC. I wish every class were like Dr. Ball's because then I wouldn't have to worry about grades, things due, etc. BTW, he goes by "DB."

DB is a funny old guy. He loves his music and really wants to give others a chance to realize that music is an essential part of history/life. There are 5 tests, and he drops the lowest grade. Most tests consist of listening. You have to go to 3 concerts and if you go to a 4th one it is extra credit. No reason to get below an A in this class.

DB is such a nice person that its almost ok that his lectures are really boring. We got to hear beautiful music and were graded on it, how easy is that? Very! The tests were simple, just listen to the music...and pay attention. Easy to talk to, sometimes humorous, and I haven't talked to anyone that was dissapointed with the class. Don't Be Late!!!

This class was VERY easy. If you need an easy A take this class. Just study the study guide he gives you and you'll be fine. Just know that this class was boring as hell. The teacher has no idea how to interact with young adults. He speaks about himself in 3rd person. But at least it's not a hard class.

Professor Ball " D.B." is the man. Super nice and a little humorous. Class not mandatory but if u do go don't be late. Tests are easy, listen to the music and on the test it will be in the same order as it was on the review sheet he passes out. Put in a little effort, easy A.... D.B. is a stud.

Pretty easy class. DB hands out review sheets before the tests and gives you all the answers. Just dont miss the class before the test when he hands out the review sheet and you will be fine. DB is a good teacher and a pretty cool guy.

DB is awesome. I don't know what people are talking about on here when they say he is boring. I personally found his personal stories and stories about the composers really interesting. Very easy, just make sure to always get the review sheet the class before the test. Anyone who doesn't receive an A in this class should go back to grade school.

Very easily structured class - you only have to show up the day before exams to get a review sheet where he goes over all the answers, and then the next class for the actual exam itself. A breeze for those who have a music background, but still completely doable for those who don't.

The music is most of the time in order except for classicism test. Only down part is the class is incredibly boring. Cool teacher. The music you learn about too isn't modern it's classical.

Dr. Larry Ball is one of the most distinguished music prof. I had. He's a very awesome musician and definitely deserve to be better than those f--king wannabe singers such as Joshua"Wannabe" Groban, Charlotte Church, and 50 Cent. FU all if you don't agree with me!!

this is an easy A for sure. He gives all the answers to his study guide when he hands it out. His tests get easier and easier the further into the semester. He drops the lowest test score too.

Great Teacher. Requires respect in his classroom, which and he well deserves. If you can't get an A in his class, you should think about becoming a professional dish washer.

Do the concert reports. Failure to turn in two of them resulted in a B that should have been an A.

After two semesters of voice with him it gets boring. (121, 122, 123, & 124 are combined classes. Then songs you sing are the only things different.) Really nice and helpful teacher, though. Just sing your song and get an A. It is as easy as that! One other thing: DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK. JUST LOOK UP THE LYRICS FOR YOUR SONGS ONLINE.

The EASIEST CLASS one will EVER take in college. What's the cache? it is also the MOST BORING EXPERIENCE ever. that's how it balances out. all you do is SIT and stare into space as he lectures and plays music, while half the class sleeps while the rest sit there bored or do other homework. and HE ALAWYS GIVES THIS 20 MINUTE ACADEMIC HONESTY SPEECH.

This class is super easy. It can get boring but it's a very easy A. There are about 5 tests. No midterm or final. Just do the concert reports and study the review he gives for the tests and you're golden. Do not talk in his class or you'll get kicked out!!!

I LOVE DB! He is a brilliant man who is so passionate about what he does. I liked classical music before I took this class but learning about it is pretty cool whether you like it or not. You learn about everything from medieval to jazz/rock/modern music. I thought it was fascinating. He's laid-back, tests/homework are simple, and there are CDs :)

Boring!! I wanted to commit suicide it was so boring, and he repeats himself. Don't talk or he'll kill you. But actually he's a nice guy that wants you to pass and if you STUDY THE GUIDES you will pass. And do the reports. I never showed up, got kicked out, only did 2 reports and passed. Incredibly easy class. All five tests are based off study guides, the book isn't necessary. DB is probably one of the most annoying individuals i've come across, so prepare for head explosion. If you don't get an A in this class, there is no hope for your future.

DB is a great teacher! People says that is a boring class, but for me it was fun to learn about classical music. It's a very EASY class. You need to do 3 music reports, and take 5 test. There is no midterm or final. You do not really need the book. He will you hand out, and you need to memorize the listening part. TAKE HIM, EASY UNITS!

DB is seriously one of the best teachers. He is really wise and has plenty of lessons to teach you about life, which he incorporates into his music history. He really has a passion for what he does, and you can totally tell. It may be slightly boring at times, but he always has a clever statement or joke every so often.

Okay. DB is one of the best professors for music. He knows his stuff (He is a conductor and often leaves on short notice for concerts that he must perform). I had him at 7:00AM in the morning and he reasonably let me sleep every morning in class. Study his study guide which is word for word for the exam and you'll get an A

DB is such an AMAZING professor! You get to learn about the history of music and how the instruments were developed. You also get to listen to different kinds of music he plays in class. He is really funny. You should really take this class, especially if you want to go to the 2011 Summer Europe Tour that he organized.

Okay well. For starters, hes super boring for the most part. It's a shock I stay awake in this class. But besides that, the class is SUPER EASY if you come to class. Just take the notes, go over the study guide he gives u (which is the test in ur hand) and you can't possibly fail. Textbook is pretty worthless but you need it for the cds.

Easiest class ever. Don't bother buying the textbook or the CDs (all the music for the tests can be found on YouTube) and he gives out a study guide prior to the test that basically IS the test. Lots of funny stories, so not many dull moments.

You don't need the book to study or take notes from but he'll call you out in class if he can see that you don't have it. The music can all be found on Youtube though, there's no need for the CDs in the textbook.

The nicest professor at SCC! I've known so many people that have taken his class & once I took his class I knew why they all loved him! He is a conductor who actually knows what he's talking about. I took his class at 7 am & managed to still enjoy the class. Take his class seriously though! It's not difficult but if you don't pay attention it can be. Like I said he's very nice & his class is great!

DB is the man. 5 tests (1 dropped) and 3 concert reports. Before every test he reviews the material, and gives you a study guide that's basically word for word whats on the test. I took DB Summer 2013 and honestly DB is such a great music teacher! He has an amazing voice! He played music during class to help us tell the difference between renaissance and classic music era. Very helpful! Will pick on you to answer questions. I would take him again if I had the time and money honestly.

DB is so amazing, he is the sweetest old man ever. I honestly listen to all of his lectures through and through. I am currently taking him, and thus far I have not touched my book once. You do not need the book. All you need is a pencil and paper. At the end of each time period he gives a study guide. That study guide is the test.

I took his 7am class and I'll admit, it is a little hard just because he lectures the whole time, but he tries his best to make it interesting and will dance in front of the classroom when a song he really likes comes on.

Super cool professor, keeps the class laughing, but doesn't tolerate talking over him or texting during class. So don't be the idiot to be asked to withdraw from his class for this. He will boot.

He really cares about his students, and tries to make the material interesting. He succeeds mostly. Hes very open about his grading policies and is easy to talk to if you have a question.

Easy A if you need the last few credits to get out of SCC. Kind professor as well but boring class. Easy to get thru if you study the study guide.

Prof Ball is pretty nice. EASY class, obviously it's boring if you're not an english major but sit and the back and do other HW. He gives a study guide for exams which is very clear and 4 total music reports which take like 15 mins to write. Laid back class would recommend. DON'T buy the book all the songs are on Youtube just don't let him see.

DB's music class is very easy. All he requires you to do are 3 concert reports (he offers a 4th one for extra credit), a pre/post test and 5 very easy exams (he drops the lowest one). You can tell how passionate he is about music and always enjoys teaching his students about it. He will say he requires the book but it's not really needed.
