alot of work - very confusing assignments - take brownstein instead

he's confusing, too much work,wastes class time w/dumb comments, talks too much with not actually saying anything useful.
Doesn't teach. Just talks endlessly about general stuff. Learned more about media planning in MAR 321 than in this class. Very easy grader, but extremely boring!!! Plus, he is like the only person teaching the course, so you're forced to take him.

Boring and talks too much about nothing. Assignments are extremely easy. Encourages class participation. Exams are super easy if you bother to study. Can be irritating when he goes off on his rants, but otherwise pretty easy.
REALLY REALLY HARD. I AM AN A STUDENT AND I GOT A B- IN THE CLASS, AND IT WASN'T AN EASY B- EITHER.. HE TOTALLY RUINED MY GPA.

Gives huge curves--20 points to be exact! WAnts you to do good. If you fail, you're stupid. Gives lenghty assignments which you can gain valuable info from. Knows his this field!! Good for MTKG majors.

Very good professor
This guy is on Speed. He sends like 100 emails to the students. You the whole semester just to study the SYLLABUS. He seems like a nice guy...but he needs to FOCUS on one thing. Lots of work already I can tell.
Talks a lot, but it's only b/c he wants his students to understand the material. Always willing to help. Lots of assignments, but they're not terribly difficult. A very nice man who's a friend to his students. Recommended!!

He is very nice, very helpful, wants you to do well. You will have a lot of work to do. He is very hyper, but very cool. If you take him he'll make you work hard but he wants you to learn.
talks a lot.. veyr hard grader.. compares u to the rest of the class so even if u do a great job, you can still get a low grade on projects.. tests are easy though
He is a good prof., didn't learn much in class but def. learned from the major project. The project is allot of work, but he is willing to help and extend due dates. Midterm was easy, other assignments were easy and he offers 2 extra credit assignments.

The best professor at pace. You will learn so much from him!! There is absolutely no other professor like him and if you have a chance you should definately take him.
he is a inspring prof. one of the best at pace. He gives you alot of research homework for you group project and that really annoying, be perpared to do alot of reasearch. hes a good grade very fair. and is a really fun professor.
Great, great, great teacher. Worked a lot in big agencies, therefore knows what he talks about. You really learn a lot if you want. He makes you feel as you are in real business. Sometimes gives a chance to get a job. You better take him.
This has to be one of the very few Professors who acutally knows what he is doing. He is the BEST! He wants you to learn and soak in all he can teach you. He is overly hyper but that is because he is so passionate and enthusiastic about his STUDENTS.
I am a terrific student and I got an B-...you know why? cuz i didn't KISS his butt like some girls...particularly those in my group for the projects. Pick your groups wisely...kiss his ass and then MAYBE you'll get an A...he's an egotistical shmuck
He is vague, unwilling to give feedback on the projects he gives out, conceited & doesn't teach. He isn't hard b/c of the work, he's hard b/c he fails to explain anything. But if you Kiss-UP, you'll be fine. If you want to learn nothing, take him.
I don't know what people are complaing about. He is the best professor ever! I have NEVER had a professor as knowledgeable as him. He gives a lot of work, but it can be fun especially if you are interested in marketing.He is a prof worth taking.

He is amazing, anyone who doesn't see that is simply not cut out for this field. As for sucking up, well I got an A in his class, and I didn't have to. Just have to be capable of projects that are necessary in real work environments, not hw assignments from jnr high school.Grow up you spoiled brats.
You people need to stop!! This is one of the best professors at PACE. You are just angry cause he makes you work. Duhh he wants to TEACH you! He gives a lot of work. He is very enthusiastic and hard working. I did'nt KISS his butt and I got a B. I did not put in the work for an A. He is still GREAT.

I just love him! He is one of the best professors I have had. I respect him a lot because of his knowledge in the field. He is sharp and will give you a preview of how it is in the real world. Anyone who complains about him was probably just lazy and didn't do the work.
He does not teach. He talks too much about irrelevant issues. He just gives a project without much explanation and sends you on your way. He is smart and knowledgeable in the field, but does not know how to properly relay the knowledge onto others. I don't recommend.

His class was a great learning experience. He definately knows his****, but he doesnt really teach. Make sure you buy the book...and sometimes that doesnt even help! He isnt very clear on test material, but as far as the projects he is thorough. He's not AS BAD as people say....
He is one of the most knowledgeable profs. at Pace. He may throw projects at you, but he will show you exactly how the real world works. If your dream is to work in adv., then i highly recommend him. Kissing ass will get you nowhere. its all about showing him you're working hard and know your****.
Prof. Chiagouris is one of the zaniets but most intelligent and DEDICATED professors at Pace. He works hard to teach us and wants to see everyone do well. He will not hold your hand....he treats you like and ADULT and brings real world experiences to the classroom. Excellent Marketing/Advertising Professor. A little crazy and hyper but he is fun.

A very experienced professor - very up on his game. Some professors teach what they have learned but he is still active in the advertising world and is constantly learning himself. If you want to do advertising - take him b/c he will make you sweat. If you don't want to do adv. - don't take him
More than a Professor, more like a mentor if you let him. Work hard, and just know that he will prepare you for the real world
He's knows his stuff. He is a very nice Professor but he has favorites. Usually anyone in the ad team. If you're not on the ad team, he wont even remember who you are. He can be a mentor to you but only if your on the AD TEAM.
He needs to chill out and put down his guard. He is too strict and takes everything too seriously. He is knowledgeable and knows marketing inside and out and is also an enthusiastic professor, but I would never take him again! NOT an easy A! As I said he takes things personally and too seriously! CHILL OUT OLD LARY! I hate him.
Really dislike him. Has favorites, thinks marketing is life, when really it isn't. Takes everything personally. He is on of those teachers which you might think is great for the first month and then after you are like huh... ***hole! No joke! Depends how deep you are. Do your work, suck up, COME TO CLASS, participate. You'll do fine. Not an easy A.

obviously a genius.. he really is helpful if you ask.. his grading is a little "iffy". My entire class got between a B- and a B+ on the final project, which is ridiculously unfair considering some groups spents months while others threw it together in the computer lab 2 hours before the presentation, don't bother trying to take notes, come to class
Prof. Chiagouris is one of the best at Pace. He is a great judge of talent and character so if he doesnt like you it's probably because you suck at what you're doing. Anyone who says hes a hard grader, its because you shouldnt be in marketing and you just arent cut out for it. Overall he is a great teacher, very helpful and a great guy.

He chooses favorites. For the 1stmonth u fall in love w/the class until u realize he's a demanding son of a...who thinks he knows everything and everyone ever. He never cuts u some slack and it's his attitude which unmotivates u to do well. It is hard to explain. My final grade was a C- when I got an A and A- on the 2 exams. He didn't like me.
The worst Marketing professor I've ever had at Pace. I got an A in the class, but this guy was discouraging and rude. When you look back on life and think of all the professors/teachers that made an impact, I don't think of Larry. He was a waste of my time and he'll be a waste of yours.
Great professor for marketing students. Ive learned more in this class than any other at Pace. The work is hard, but not impossible, ask him questions and he'll help.
Too much work. He only cares about his ad club. I spent so much time on his assignment, but I never knew my grade until the semester ended.
lets just say everyone got C's.... has favorites... loves the yankees... pointless exam that u need to study half the book for just 12 questions, which seems good but when its 8/10 pts each its not so funny when u get 2 wrong... :( so much work for no reason
seems cool in the beginning. makes you work your ass off on your projects.. midterm was 15 questions multiple choice worth 10 points each, to top it off the fill ins were "WHAT EXAMPLE DID I MENTION IN CLASS ABOUT THIS?" so you MUST pay attention. Even if you do good on your project and midterm, he still would probably give you a C.
this dude gives a lot S**load of work to do and gives a cumulative final of about 11 chapters no midterm.....has favorites, oh yeah!!.....even with an extra credit report he gave me an B- while I had all As and Bs for projects
You will work your ass off, but you'll learn a ton. Huge project workload. You have plenty of opportunities to be creative. Actually teaches you what's going on in the industry and has experience on the agency and client sides to back up his examples. Beware if you're taking it as an elective or hate group work. Read the book for the final!

Best professor at Pace! He genuinely cares about his students and their success inside and outside of the classroom. I would highly recommend him any day.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. All he "lectures" about is HIMSELF. Teaches about 10% of important information. Rude, useless, does not help students - if you want to learn about Advertising and Promotion DO NOT TAKE HIM
Horrible professor. He thinks he knows everything about the industry, has a huge ego, and all he talks about are his personal experiences unrelated to the class. When it comes to the final you realize he hasn't gone over any of the information throughout the whole semester. He is rude to students and chooses a couple favorites. Waste of time, stron
He's a fake. All the guy cares about is the Ad team. He should really not be a professor. Class is a huge waste of time and money. He claims to know so much about advertising yet the only thing I took away from the class was an understanding of his ego. He may be a good speaker (he was in PR) but in the end you realize that's about all he can do.
This prof is hard but if you attend class, you will learn more about the business world than from any other prof. He expects alot but it is worth it if you have the time to put into it.

Make no mistake, he is hard, he is one of those professors who seems to think your life revolves around his class. That said, the man knows what hes doing. He is a top notch professor and while his teaching style is a bit iffy, his knowledge is unparalleled. If your just getting the course out of the way stay away, if your not take him.

He is tough. He gives tons of work, and you must study hard for his test. However, he knows what he's doing, and if you make a good relationship with him he will help you out both inside and outside the classroom.

The class may be tough and he expects a lot from students but you will definitely learn a lot from this class. His experience in the field and passion for marketing definitely make this class much more interesting. Overall great professor.
If you are not a marketing major, do not take him. He expects so much for this introductory course. He definitely is very knowledgable in the marketing field but obviously the students are not on the same level as him. Reading from the book is mandatory for midterm and final. He tells you the final is going to be hard and it was SO HARD.
Very enthusiastic about the course. One of those professors that think his class is the only one students take and as if their lives revolve around it. Only one test all year, the final, and it throws you off guard because it is very hard. Take this only if you are very interested in marketing because he is smart but demanding.
The Tyra Banks of Lubin's marketing department. All he ever talks about is himself. "When I was working at..." "When I did this..." Overall nice guy and fun class but prepare to put in work. Doesn't care if you have legit excuses for absences, such as hospitalization with proof.
Chiagouris is one of the many professors I really enjoy being in class with. He tries to prepare you for the real world. I can relate since I'm an older student. Younger students may not like his teaching style. He is a top notch professional. His class is tough don't get me wrong, but I feel like I benefited from him greatly. Would take again.
When it comes to professionals teaching, Larry is one of them. I found his lectures enjoyable and taught from real life experiences. His course work is TOUGH but it was fun. I think he calls bluff on how strict he really is. Overall, great guy, great professor. If you are just trying to get MAR 250 out of the way, maybe try someone else.
He may be the worst professor I've ever had. Changed the syllabus 20 times, gave us (an entry level class) the same absurdly demanding projects as his upper-level classes. We had no grading feedback for the first 2.5 months of class, and we learned more about his career than the subject matter. Singlehandedly ruined my semester, please quit larry
Dr. C is a true professional and really is dedicated to teaching his students real life skills. While he has the best of intentions, and I would take him again, he is very demanding and I think expects a little too much. His expectations are unclear, but very high which makes his class hard. It is fulfilling and worthwhile though!
He wants to help you because he loves the opportunity to talk about marketing, however the final is HARD!! he gives a really good curve but even with that almost everyone failed. You work on a campaign all semester and theres no clear instructions which is annoying! and he'll ruin your life for the semester and you have no choice if marketing major
This man is everything you want in a teacher. He is my mentor and I honestly can say he is the reason why I will be so successful, taking his class gives you an advantage in the real world. If you do not care you will do poorly, if you are a marketing major he is a major connection. Also, join the Advertising Club, it goes along way.
Dr.C really knows what he's talking about, and has extensive experience that he incorporates into the class. His classes are rarely boring and he answers all of your questions. In return he expects A LOT of his students, and assigns some heavy group projects in addition to personal ones.

Dr. Chiagouris is a VERY informative and detailed man. If youre not willing to put in the work, dont take his class. His projects requires an extensive amount of time and effort, so pick a good group to be with. Make sure to read his chapter notes as you go along throughout and TAKING INCLASS NOTES on his lectures is vital in order to pass the
I'm still unaware what the objective of his class was. Hardly lectured about marketing. Mostly talks about himself. Read rubric for group projects- not hard but he makes it seem like it is. Easy to pass, but prepare to be upset by him a lot.
I used to think he bragged about himself too much, but then i had basically every marketing professor in pace and apparently they all do. REGARDLESS. I love Dr. C! An absolute HELPFUL and KIND person to know. GET TO KNOW HIM. TALK TO HIM. Knowing him will help you in the future I PROMISE. He looks out for his students. Final exam is hard, no hw.
Larry Chiagouris is one of my favorite professors at Pace! He knows what he is talking about and offers great real-world experience examples. The work you do in the course will be excellent to talk about in interviews, too!
This guy takes his intro level marketing class WAYY too seriously. Assigns long papers with even longer guidelines. Don't take his class if this is a required course.
He needs to realize that this course isnt the only one you are taking. Knows his stuff, but talks nonstop about his experience for the entirety of the semester & you barely understand the course in the end. Syllabus is longer than all my classes combined. Yeah hes easy to pass, but be prepared to stress out & not sleep for these group projects.
Takes the subject a bit too seriously. Gives good feedback and genuinely seems to care but assigns ungodly amounts of homework. Exams are very difficult but he curves generously - but you should still study. Very nice guy but very strict.
Professor Chiagouris is a very intelligent man, but he does let it go to his head a lot. Most of the work is done outside of the class.. even the lectures. During class he pretty much rants on about his own life experiences, which are interesting. Although I felt like I didn't need to show up to the lectures even though they were mandatory.
I learned a lot from him personally, but his class is difficult. For a sophomore, we were doing senior-level campaigns. He pushes you to achieve which means heavy workload, but it made me more prepared for a marketing career. If you are serious about marketing, take him but you will have to work for it. (group projects are big part of ur grade)
Professor Chiagouris is a good professor. I am taking his online class the syllabus is 30 pages long and he has atleast 50 or more documents online for us to read. You have a group project that is divided into two parts, 1 in the beginning and another 1 towards the end of the semester plus discussion boards and 2 exams a midterm and final. I
DO NOT TAKE HIM. He assigns an insane amount of homework (for the last week of class we had 4 ASSIGNMENTS due- a 2 part final, a group project, AND a paper all at once) and never gives clear instructions despite having super high expectations. Makes you read his own tweets and book as part of the syllabus. Just avoid at all costs
the only time a class has ever made me cry. the work he assigns is impossible to manage, and on top of that he's rude about it. would not budge on any of his crazy high expectations even during a pandemic. just awful
He is a nice man but AVOID at all costs if you want to keep your sanity. He has a complete disregard that his students are taking other courses than just his. Expectations are outrageous- his class felt like a full-time job that I wasn't getting paid for. Good experience but a college course should never put this much emotional strain on a student.
You will learn about marketing principles and creating an entire brand campaign. However, he does require a lot of work and expects his deadlines to be meet exactly. If you don't want to go into marketing, it's not worth it to take the class. But, if you are majoring in marketing, this class is very valuable, even if he asks for a lot.
If you have the option- do not take his class. The requirements were too much for an online class during a pandemic. Final team project, final individual project and final cumulative exam. All of his instructions are unclear and way too much info-dumping in the syllabus and required readings. Not worth the stress.
He is an extremely smart professor and has a ton of experience in the real world. BUT this is class is HARD, with so much work, reading, stress. He makes you read 30 page syllabus, has over 100 documents. It's makes you feel like you should get paid for taking this course. Dont take it if its not required. Smart man but very unclear in direction.

Avoid at all costs. Gives out dozens of pages of instructions that somehow do not state what he wants from students. The syllabus is 18 pages long. Does not answer questions about assignments if they are within one week of being due. He doesn't know how to use bright space and chooses not to learn it. Be prepared to get 50 emails from him weekly.
3 group projects, a take-home final (make website/write paper), and real final. Group projects are time-consuming and strict. Lectures take whole class and make little sense. He has a lot of good information, but he says a lot of nonsense. High expectations, difficult class, lots of "required" reading. Was tested on his tweets. Had to buy his book.
if you want to keep your sanity, do not take this class. this was by far one of the worst classes I've ever taken and it gets better because its asynchronous, and half the time you forget you even have the class. this class felt like a full-time job that you weren't getting paid for. I'm usually the one not to write reviews but couldnt take it!
