He is a great teacher, really fun in class, and very helpful. He doesnt REQUIRE homework, but I would definatly suggest you do it.

Excellent math teacher. Unlike the other, more academically arrogant math professors, he draws on his wealth of experience teaching high school students. Yes he is very fun in a slightly ****ed way, but hey we'er all adults. Hard tests!

He is a great teacher! One of the beat in process of and application of math. The tests are very hard and very long... He does not bend on any rule in his sylybus. Health problems, car accident, family issues not Fosters problem.

Be ready to devote many hours of study time, if math is not your strong points, but rest assured Foster will guide you thru with patience. his method of teaching is outstanding. What u read is true..he is very funny, and his tests are challenging.

Whoever says Foster is not a good teacher didn't put forth effort in his class. I hate math and he helped me learn it. He was a very helpful teacher, TAKE HIS CLASS. Study and you'll do good on the test.

This is class is good for those who plan on going further with math. His very clear with his teaching style the 1st day of class. You get what you expect. Overall great teacher

His tests and quizs are very difficult. He will trick you every time. You may have to turn to substance abuse for this class.

One of the best math Professors and I hate math. Just do the work and......Study. Stay for the review if you have a hard time, it's optional but it helps. I hate math and pulled an A. He helped me understand it.

at first this class was super tough and foster comes off a little abrasive, but after some adjustment time it was easy to fall into the swing of things. In order to receive a good grade you will have to work for it. In other words your ability to learn and homework habits will ultimately determine what kind of grade you'll get. good luck!

Fantastic proffesor. I hate math, am terrible at it, and had it not been for Foster I would have gotten an F. I didn't get the greatest of grades, but I learned a lot! He is very patient and has a V.G. way of explaining math. Expect lots of homework, pop-up quizes & HARD tests. It doesn't hurt that he's got a great sense of humor and is a cutie

Foster is an excellent teacher. He is hard but you will get a good base for Algebra for future classes. If you actually want to learn the subject take this teacher.

Larry is a fair teacher. He works as a HS teacher during the day and you can see that in how he treats his college students. If you pay attention, his lecture will help. He is happy to answer questions and will stay after class for additional help if need be. He does not give extra credit nor does he do anything to help your grade.

I hate math and was frightened to take this course. However, Foster made this class sooooo rad. He style is so easy to pick up on. Im pissed off that he isnt teaching Math 96. I ended up with an "A" and Ive been a "C" math student my whole school life. Foster is probably the best math teacher around. Fair test, fair quizzes, overall great guy.

i havent been in school since high school in 97. My first class back is his Math 95 class.No assigned HW, just recommended to help you study.Will teach you man ways to slve problems. If you have issues in this class, make sure to ask questions or else he cant help you. Tests are easy if you pay attention. recommend his class.

The man is funny and entertaining, but he is a little side tracked. He's a full time high school math teacher. His priority is definitly them. He writes all tests and quizes out by hand and are sometimes very illegible. He once gave out the wrong answer key to study with then corrected it the class before the test. VERY FRUSTRATING!

I worked HARD and struggled in Foster's class, but was totally prepared for my next class.

foster is an awesome teacher. he does assign homework, but does not make it mandatory for you to turn in. however there are pop quizzes, but he never gives one on a day before or after a test. honestly, he is an easy teacher and is by far one of the most entertaining math teachers ive ever had.

Pretty awesome professor, funny and nice, but it's a tough class, and he's not very flexible on rules in the syllabus. He explains everything super well, though, and spends the first part of every class answering homework questions from any section. Homework is optional but definitely do it!

Mr. Foster is the best Math teacher in the entire world! I actually get math now! He is super cool and he will help you on any questions you have. He does not assign homework but has an outline of what you should be studying. Practice makes perfect. Mr. Foster is the best! Take his class and you will learn. One of the best Math teachers I've ever had. He teaches very clear and in a way that makes math interesting. Also the way he speaks helps you stay focus. I totally recommend taking one of his classes. I'll be taking him next semester which will be my third with him.

Awesome professor. You have 6 tests and no homework. He reviews before each tests. If you have A for all tests, you won't need to take the final. You just need to follow his explanation in class and do homework and you would be fine to get A. I get 100% for his class

Excellent math professor. Very clear, gives good examples, very involved, homework is not mandatory: do what's needed for your own benefit. A couple pop quizes, can use a notecard for final. Would absolutely take another math course from this prof. His website is also very helpful and prepared for each section.

I hated math and dreaded taking it in college due to how much I'd forgotten over the years. This guy was great and treated us as adults and wasn't condescending at all. I recommend him HIGHLY and would request him again if he taught any other levels of math. THANKS LARRY!!!!

I am math challenged, but Larry Foster helped me to get algebra. I hadn't taken a math class in 12 years, and he went over everything step by step which I really needed. I highly recommend him for math!

Great teacher. He really cares about his students and want them to success in their next math courses. He really knows how to teach. Do ALL optional homework and you will get an A.

I struggled in this class because I didn't do the optional homework on time, so I suggest that you do it!!! It will help you a lot. He is a very clear and fun with his lessons. I like how he swear in class..so funny..^^ Highly recommended. This is not an easy class. You have been warned! I worked my ass off to get A in this class and it paid off.

He's a great math professor, you learn a lot. But I don't recommend this class if you suck at remembering stuff cause his tests are hard and you only take notes in class and need to study hardcore in order to pass which I most likely will not pass.

nice guy but your grade will get screwed up if your take him. he is helpful but his test are just screwed up and he prides him self on how he tricked us on the test. no notes..... we started with a packed class, about 12 took the final and several failed...

FOSTER IS A GREAT PROFESSOR. THE ONLY DOWNFALL IS THAT HE TAKES HIS TIME TO CLARIFY THAT EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THAT WE OFTEN END UP USING REVIEW DAY TO LEARN NEW MATERIAL. HE'S VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT MATH AND GENUINELY CARES FOR HIS STUDENTS AND THEIR WELL-BEING IN THEIR NEXT MATH COURSES

Foster is a good professor and he knows how to teach his material. But, his exams are difficult. Pay attention and do your homework, because even if you get an A on the CUMULATIVE final exam, you can still get a C in the class because his exams are not weighted.

Foster is a good professor, but make sure you GO TO CLASS. i missed one or two classes and was completely behind and as math is not my subject - ended up failing. he doesnt make you do problems on the board and homework is optional but you gotta do it if you wanna pass. i recommend him he just talks a bit fast sometimes

Foster is respectful, reasonable, and funny. It's better to show up to class because he may have an in-class assignment or he may say that the next class is "optional". He usually lets you out early. His lectures are so helpful that i only had to use my book for homework assignments. He gives practice tests that are exactly like the real test.

I love this guy, he's funny and so straight to the point, he doesn't sugar coat anything. He helps out by going though home work and points out our weak spots. He makes class fun and learning math so much easier. His techniques are so easy to understand. He will be stern when he needs to be and he gives out practice tests. Go FOSTER!

I had him in high school, then in college he happened to be teaching a class. He is the most helpful and awesome professor! I really enjoy his class and he is relatively an easy professor! If you are looking for a class and he teaches it, CHOOSE HIM!!!!

One of the best professors I have had. He thoroughly explains material and gives ample time each class for review problems we had "for HW". Tests are challenging but if you study and do his reviews you will be fine. He gives reviews for all of his tests HINT. Great class

Mr.Foster is passionate about math, about his students learning and doing their best. He's easy to talk with and funny in class. I loved being in his class. But be aware if you want to succeed in his math class you have to do your part ie study, hk, ask questions in class. His exam questions can be a little challenging. You'll be ok if you study.

Foster is the man. He is truly an educator in every sense of the word. Smart, personable, funny, and helpful. He will teach you math the way it should be done. My math skills were greatly improved after his class.

He is by far the best math professor at Mesa. you will not be disappointed if you take his class, and you will actually learn a lot.

He is really nice, easy going and a fair grader. Just follow the syllabus and do your HWs, you will be ok. This course is not easy, but Larry made it easy to understand. Tests and home quizzes are the best resource for you to study for the final exam. Final exam ar exactly what you had as test or quiz during the semester. I strongly recommend him

He's a very good teacher! he's extremely helpful, offers a review day before the test and answers any question. Do all your homework and ask questions! I would've done better if i did both. Professor Foster gives you everything necessary to help you pass the class! He's funny and nice.

Took this course after being out of school for a while (military). Foster knows his math with few mistakes. Ask questions, he will eventually help you! Always available for office hours. Book isn't used in class but helps to study. No graded homework. Study quizzes and old test final test.

Hands down, Professor Foster, is the best Math teacher I have ever had. I had both of his classes 38 and 96. I have never been able to understand the material with such clarity. He makes a review day before any test to answer your questions. To anyone saying he is not a good teacher, it is because you didn't put enough effort into the class.

Professor Foster is great. He makes class fun and is easy going. He gives homework and tons of study material. Homework is optional but suggested to understand what to do on the tests. Your grade is take home test and chapter tests so you need to know what you're doing. But he is there to help when needed. I wish he was teaching 116

Awesome professor, easy lectures to follow through and best of all no assigned homework. Ok, not best because you'll actually need to do some self guided homework (he gives recommended homework) to learn, but other than that this was a non intimidating, easy to learn class. START A STUDY GROUP. It'll help in the long run. Study the exams! Good luck

Foster is probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He really does have the ability to teach math with so much clarity and understanding. He will usually arrive to class 30 min early and will literally ask you if you need help with anything. He gives you homework that will be on the quiz/test. Very organize and grades on time.

Professor Foster is an awesome teacher. He makes math easier to understand and goes above and beyond to give you as much help with homework and the in class discussions as he can. He's funny and keeps you focused. If you put in the work and study what he teaches you can pass this class. I wish he could be my teacher for all my math classes.

Professor foster was hands down the best teacher I have ever had. Being 10 years out of school and just starting up again he made his math96x class so enjoyable. He really truly wants every student to pass. He is hands down hilarious!! Straight forward and spends extra time helping those who need/ want help! I wish he could teach every subject!

Professor Foster is FANTASTIC! Be warned, This class can be hard! there is a lot of math stuffed into one class, there is a ton of homework and tests. But! if you ask a question Professor Foster will not rest until he knows you understand. He loves questions. He is also very organized and records lectures. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

He's definitely not an easy A, but I've had many awful Math teachers and he was one of the bests I've had. He is a tough grader, especially on the tests - if you're taking online classes with him, USE THE DARKEST PENCIL YOU HAVE! He takes a lot of points away if he can't read your work. He reviews the material so fast, but he records the lectures

Wow! Professor Foster sets a standard in math education. He knows his stuff. As daunting as 3 nights a week in class could be, I didn't want to miss a beat. Exams are no joke, I stressed the heck out but survived. I see now, moving forward, he has prepared me well! Fair grader, I deserved all of his comments. Always felt he cared we would succeed

By far one of the coolest, radest, and funniest professors I have ever met. Professor Foster will make you work but he is there for support. GO TO CLASS! I cannot stress that enough. He will make the class enjoyable and you will miss out on some really cool stuff. I would take him again if he taught trig.

I hadn't taken math in a couple of years and he taught in a way i found easy to follow and every day was a very similar routine of a warm up then 1-2 sections for the rest of the class. most days we were let out early which was great! plus i was never scared to ask questions, you can tell he truly cares about his students !!

one of the best math teachers i've had for sure ! don't be scared of 3 hours 3 times a week it goes by super quickly you will probably be out early most nights and you will understand the material. he does crack some bad jokes in between but overall great teacher. ASK QUESTIONS he will not judge you no matter how dumb u think they might be

I used to be terrible at math and was scared coming into this class because of that. Professor Foster made me realize I was taught incorrectly and helped me understand math like no teacher ever did. If you have the chance take this class and you will learn so much. He's the best math teacher I've had ever!

By far my favorite professor. Gives a hefty amount of homework but gives you weeks to complete it. Explains everything nicely and answers all types of questions. It's been three years since i've taken a math and it was a nice and easy transition to get back into math in his class. Very funny would take the course again if i could.

The Teacher gives out clear solutions for tests and can give clear solutions for homework if asked. And you really should ask until everything is 100% clear (during or after class). Relearn/learn intermediate algebra ASAP (but be thorough). Trig mostly assumes/requires you already know it. Don't be shy about asking for help with algebra.

I had a blast in his class! No textbook, all of the material was learned through live lectures and it is really important to take notes! Many complained that there wasn't enough instruction, support, or time to learn before exams, but literally all you have to do to succeed is take notes and do the homework. Just do the work and you'll be fine.

Great professor and he breaks down the information very well. He has a great way of explaining things. As long as you ASK questions/engage in lectures, do the homework, and study for the exams you will pass. Mr. Foster is pretty funny too. Trust the process.

My favorite professor of all time! He's very good at teaching & makes his expectations very clear from the beginning. If you're taking this class just do all the homework early so that way you get enough practice for the quizzes and exams. He's hilarious! Very easy to get along with. He also let us start our test an hour before class.

There isn't a more respectable teacher than Prof. Foster. His course load may be heavy, but his lectures are pure gold. He breaks every concept down in a thoughtful manner that's incredibly easy to understand, and makes sure every person is following along in his lecture. Passionate about math, and genuinely cares for the future of our education.

Professor really good at explain theory and how it works. He always gives us a chance to improve our grade even in the tests.

Finally a professor that makes math class fun and who is there for you if you do not understand a topic. 10/10. Came out of this class prepared for Calc. If you take a summer course you have to study summer hours. If a chapter makes no sense to you watch videos, rewrite your notes and do more problems than hw. TEXTBOOK SECTION REVIEWS ARE KEY.

Took trigonometry with him over the summer and he is easily the best math teacher I've ever had!! Goes through each step in detail but still simplied enough for his students to understand and I've never had a boring class with him. If I could choose to have only him as a math professor for the rest of my education, I would in heartbeat.
