One of the best teachers I ever had, told you the truth about math and life whether is was nice or not

One of the best math teachers/professors I've ever had. He know how to teach and how to explain everything. Prof. Howe definately knows his stuff and actually you will too when you're done.

Good Calc teacher

Very clear teaching, awesome down to earth guy. Hard teacher, but makes you learn, benefiting you! Besides him cursing all the time...well the class damn funny when he's on his good day. (cancels class a lot too!)

one of the easiest teachers to understand that i have had in college. Plus he was funny as hell.

He is a teacher that explains things to the point, and very clear. You have to keep up, and actually do the homework or you will fall behind. Study hard for the three tests and you will be fine.

I haven't had a great math teacher in a while. Very clear, scary at first, says that you will fail w/o a TI 89, and it's true. Does not use "teacher vocabulary" and gets in a few jokes here or there.

This guy is a great math teacher, the only reason you wouldn't like him for calc is if you had a cruddy background in math during Highschool, he will answer any question at the begining of his class, and curses like a crazy man which is kinda funny.

This guy was a great teacher.Very clear and concise with everything he taught.Had him during the summer though and it looked like he was up late partying.

Is very clear. goes over everything like 8 times. but if you miss a class, you're f***ed.

Very clear! Attendance is important, good note taking is also important. He is very decieveing with the way he presents himself, but overall a very good math teacher.

He's one of the best Calc teachers I've ever had, funny guy. In the beginning of class, he goes over any ?'s that you have from the homework. Attendance is IMPORTANT! One class can kill your grade fast! So, show up, take good notes, do your h/w & ask

The easiest to understand calc teacher. He'll go over any and all questions during class. Class is hard because the subject is hard, not because of him.

easy teacher, i highly recommend him. attendence is very important and he answers any questions you have. he's laid back and his appearance will throw you off but as long as you attend class, take good notes, and ask questions you will be just fine.

had this guy for pre-calc, calc, and modern algebra.. Best math teacher at rowan.. dissagree? then thats cuz you don't belong in a college math course

Howe is a great professor. Not only does he do a great job teaching, it is easy to stay focused in his class, and he says some of the funniest things in the world (I have a quote list). Although I did lose 2 ranches to him in bets.. take him and you'll fully understand. Check Plus.

Great professor. Made everything very simple and took as much time as needed to go over homework and answer questions. I recommend him to anyone who has to take calculus.

Best math teacher i have ever had in my life. I had to take pre-calc twice and still only got up to a D and then i took this guy for calc I and did awesome. You have to go to class and put in the effort but if you do that ur guaranteed an awesome grade.

Helpful guy. Show up to class, take notes, and you'll get an A. He explains things really really well. There's only 3 tests the entire marking period, which is pretty sweet. My advice is to take this guy not only bc he's a great prof, but he's probably the only calc prof that speaks perfect english.

The guy is hilarious (he'll bet the ranch on just about anything lol) but also really clear and thorough in his explanations. Take him!

Do your homework and pay attention in class, then you will be fine. Funny guy who is always looking for a "sexier" way of doing things. Hands down: BEST TEACHER AT ROWAN!

He is one of the best teachers at Rowan! I took Real Analysis once with someone else and was totally lost. I retook it with Howe and got a B+. He explains things really well--just do the homework and you'll do fine. Also had him for Calc III and he's a funny guy.

He is very clear of his expectations and what you are required to know. Knows this subject like it's his best friend. If you go to every class and do the homework, easy A. Don't take him if you don't want to work hard.

I hate math, I've never been good at it. But Howe is the ABSOLUTE BEST Math teacher Ive ever had. I struggled w/precalc and was terrified to take calc, but I am so glad I choose to take it w/Howe. The stuff is hard, but he tries hard to make u understand. Hes also really funny! DO TAKE HIM IF U CAN!

Wow if you have to take Calc I TAKE THIS GUY!! He's absolutely hilarious and he's the best math teacher I've EVER had. He could teach calc to a 5 year-old. Yes, he only gives 3 tests and no chances to bring up your grade so it's a little tough but dude it's Calc not Elem Ed!!

Howe is an amazing professor. He has an *awesome* sense of humor, is easy to talk to, is clear about what he wants from you, and knows his stuff. He has many qualities that make a teacher likeable and effective. I've never had a cooler professor.

Seems very mean at first, and can be a little rude somtimes...but what matters is he is an awesome prof. I've always sucked at math and I got an "A", because he makes you understand. Very dry sense of humor...an interesting guy. Do take him! And don't drop if he seems mean at first...you'll like him once you get used to his personality!

Best Math teacher at Rowan! He's super smart, and funny. Real is the hardest class in the math depart, but he makes it much easier. He may complain about a ? you ask, but he'll still thoroughly answer it. Plus, he's American, so you can understand him when he talks! Don't take anyone else for Real!

Howe is the best professor at Rowan. He really explains things very well, and lets you exactly what he wants and how he wants it done. Incredibly fair and really really down to earth. Also he's just plain cool.

Great teacher. Very funny at times, in a dry sarcastic sort of way. Threatens to take people out into the hallway and says "That's some bad**** right there" often. Very intelligent man, very good teacher.

Prof Howe is a great teacher. He can be funny at times and you can expect to here some bad language. He explains things very well. I recommend taking his classes. Awesome teacher!

Awsome Teacher. Does a very good job at explaining everything and will take the time to make sure you understand something when you ask a question. Highly recommended

calc is tough, but he's a great teacher, very clear and great at explaining. only 3 tests thoug so study. oh, and the calculator and book are males, and the problems are females, and y derivatives are sexy and sometimes kinky. a touch boring, but you get by

Always makes sure that the class understands the material and has no problems with spending half the class time explaining certain things. Just make sure you study for the 3 exams. He always cracks jokes, and is very liberal with his words. Dont listen to any nimrod who gave him a bad rating. Take his class if its available. Thefill fast.

kinda made me like calc. amazing teacher, first time i'd ever suggest you to take an 8am, he'll still be ****/hungover. very clear and good at helping you understand. calls problems "sexy" "kinky" and "sweet." not a bad class, just study for the tests.

That three test rule will defitnely make or break you. The second exam is by far the hardest so be prepared. Really knows his stuff, makes jokes...just really study and you should be ok..

Good professor. Really understood everything he taught. Likes when people participate. Wasn't afraid to insult the class, told us all to go back to highschool algebra. Overall I really liked him even though calc wasn't the best subject.

Boring class, but he did blurt out some funny**** every once in awhile. There are only 3 grades, 3 tests, but the 2nd one is not as bad as everyone says. Very clear. Take him.

the only professor i've ever had that, not only KNEW the material he taught, but knew how to explain it so it was clear to everyone. he won't move on unless he knows everyone is following him. if you show up, take notes, do the 3 or 4 problems he assigns for hw on a topic, then you should do great..

Grades are based on tests alone. Make sure you do all the homework or you will be lost on the exams. Always willing to help you out if you have any questions. Sarcastic most of the time, but knows calc backwards and forwards. Take him if you can.

He seems kind of disshuffled, but he explains concepts very well. If you do your homework and understand it, you should be perfectly fine for the tests. Also, if you had AP Calc in high school, this class will probably not seem hard.

I am not a math person, however, Prof. Howe was one of the best math teachers I had at Rowan. He isn't conventional in terms of his personality, however, if you pay attention, take good notes, and ask questions you will learn alot. His tests are hard, but hey this is college! As I said, I am not a math person but I understood the concepts.

strangest man i've ever met. but brilliant, nonetheless. take him if you are unsure about math. he explains things very well. contemporary math didn't use a textbook, so don't miss any classes. you'll get an A.

he always smelled like smoke and looks a bit scary but overall he is a nice guy and breaks the material down very easily so you can understand it. if you need help go to him.. but if you bomb a test you cant retake it.

He is a very strange guy that might look intimidating at first but hes a really good professor...he explains things slowly and clearly so that everyone understands...i would recommend him

I had some great math profs at Rowan. It's hard to single out one, but he's definitely among the best. His depth of knowledge combined with his easy style and ability to explain difficult stuff make him an awesome teacher. I had the privilege of being taught by Larry as an undergrad and grad student. I became a math teacher partly because of him.

I had Prof Howe for Investments in the summer and I really liked him. He used to be a stock broker. Lots of interesting stock broker stories.Quiz every day. Exams hard. But you will learn a lot.

wonderful professor in class, explains every step so you can never get lost and goes slow enough to copy everything easily. tests are really hard though, if you do bad on just one it can kill your grade. you have to actually understand the material to pass the test.

Dr. Howe remains to be one of my favorite professors. His classes couldn't be clearer! He makes math fun with his stories. I'm not a math person, but I learned a great deal from the class and earned close to 100% on all three tests. There are no surprises on his exams. Anyone who fails this class does not belong in college.

Simply the best professor of all time. I have never had a better teacher in my life. I try to take his classes ever chance I get.

Professor Howe seems like a cold, careless man.. but one hell of a good teacher. He doesn't have much time for helping students seeing that he is the chairman of the math department, but if you pay attention in class and do the (optional) homework, there is no way Howe won't be able to teach you math.

Awesome guy! He has to be one of the better professors on campus! He really knows how to keep the class' attention and he really enjoys doing what he does! I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn calc and have fun doing it!

Larry was by far the best prof I ever had, in addition to being an incredible advisor for my thesis, Counting Abelian Groups.
