Great Teacher, work is extemly easy as long as you dont jerk yourself off through the semester.

Dr. J is a great teacher. He's class is pretty easy as long as you pay attention. He's very workable and understanding. Really knows his stuff! A great all around guy. Will make sure you understand!

This guy's pretty cool. He may come across as a little creepy at first, but he's really not. One requirement you must have, is the abitily to participate in open class discussions. All you really need to do though, is pay attention, and participate.

Dr. Juchartz is one of the greatest instructors I've have ever had at MCC. I have been here for 3 years (full time everytime) so I have had a lot of instructors. IF you just pay attention and try your best in his class you should do fine.

Great teacher, gives you a chance to revise all of your papers until the end of class, and takes the revision into account when calculating your grades. Overall he has a different, but good approach to teaching.

1 of the coolest professors I've had. He makes you learn by leading you to what he's trying to teach.

This class is very interesting.Highly recommend it.I was nervous at first being a caucasion student,but I never felt uncomfortable. Slam poetry final is difficult, but my class was supportive.One note- be on time!Quizes are given exactly at time class starts-No exceptions.Dr J is a great instructor.

The guy below this is wrong b/c in tec writting dr. jucarts teaches you that business letters have to be acurate, thats the ONLY assign. where he makes you get his name right. He is really a good teacher and will help you on anything you need to work on or just want to talk about.

Class is based on discussing SCI-FI short stories, a few films and one novel. Students write 3 papers during the semester. He lets the students teach the class, but will corral the discussion where it needs to go if neccessary. He is open to new ideas regarding the material, and it's a fun class.

Loved the class, Loved the doc. And whoever's saying he won't let you call him anything else, we all called him Doc J, The Doc, and a lot of other variants that he never commented on, so... Yeah. Great Teacher, great class. It's worth it. I actually found him to be quite humble, too.

Dr Juchartz is the professor that ALL college students need to start with! He used a workshop style with each paper which I found to be helpful. I actually enjoy writing now. I would recommend him to everybody and will take him again myself. He is the real deal. Too bad there are not more like him!

Dr. J. is AWESOME! You will not find a better prof at Mott, or anywhere else. He made a true impact on my writing for the better. He is an all around great guy and I would recommend him to anyone. This guy is my mentor! If you take his class, participate and have fun. He's not fond of slackers, but helps in any way he can. Take his classes!!!!

This class had ALOT of writing. If you are taking this class as a blowoff - don't do it! Mr Juchartz is a good instructor. I like that he takes personal/individual time with each student for each paper to let you know how you are doing and where you could improve. I would recommed him.

All you people who say he's arrogant, you're right. He is, but he has good reason to be. He doesn't pull punches; if you're slacking off, he knows. Put a little effort into the class, care about improving yourself, and you'll do wonderfully. The people that hate him and fail him are the people who take the class like it's a free credit.

Mr Juchartz turned me into a student who just wants to get by, to a student who actually cares. Never thought i would like english so much, but now i do. If you want to learn how to write, and want to challenge yourself, Please take him. If you dont like to come to class, and dont like to participate, TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.

Slackers need not apply! Great teacher, who doesn't tolerate slacking. Should it be any other way? Has a great sense of humor and is always willing to help you make yourself better. Highly recommended! There are no other teachers like Dr. J, he's definitely one of a kind!

Dr. Juchartz is a fabulous person, a wonderful teacher, and a great guy! He is very understanding, and he is down to earth. He was very good at explaining what needed to be done, and although you have a lot of work to do, he makes it easy to get it all together for your final portfolio. I'm looking into enrolling in his pop culture class!

Great Teacher Very Helpful and made class fun

Juchartz was the best teacher I have ever had. He actually TEACHES you, instead of throwing stuff in front of you. He show's you new skills for writing! He works well with students to make sure that you understand what he is looking for. He also makes himself available for the students that need extra help! I highly recommend him!

This is easily one of the best classes I have taken at Mott. Dr. J has a detailed and unique way of teaching. The main assignments are broken down to focus on individual parts of a paper (Thesis, Intro, etc). This process really helped me become a better writer and the assignments focus on finding your style. Theres no better English professor!

This was the first class I took when I went back to college after a 23 year hiatus. I took the class online because of my hectic life schedule. I am glad I was lucky enough to have Dr. J break me back in. Tons of writing and posting, but fun too. Oh ladies? Did I mention he's hot too?

This teacher is very difficult, he wrote the textbook, how intimidating is that? Your will learn something from him.

Excellent teacher. There's a lot of work (papers) but if you do all of the work on time and follow the directions it's pretty easy. He is very helpful and a wonderful teacher. He will teach you a lot! I would take one o his classes before any one elses.

Very positive experience, will take additional classes from him. His class is much more than just writing a standard paper. It is about thoughtful debate and communication in a confident and effective manner. Great Experience.

One of the best ever! Very engaging! Didn't feel like a Comp2 class, more like debate. Grades fairly. Gives both sides of argument, wants you to argue your opinion. One of the most helpful classes I've ever had!

He is one of the most helpful and engaging teachers I've had. He has fun and interesting topics and allows you to ask as many questions as needed to get it. Lots of work, but I have managed to get a 100% before the portfolio, and I'm not even normally interested in writing! Just do your work and participate and you will do great!

I just learned about this site halfway through my class. I'll admit some of the assignments are confusing but he WILL help you if you simply ask. If you follow directions and get things in on time you will do well. He does not HAND you a grade, you need to EARN it! Pay attention and he WILL teach you how to be a better writer!

I took ENGL-102 with Dr. J online. His directions on assignments were insanely clear. I thought this class was going to help us be better writers overall, not just arguers :o) You do need the book. Almost all feedback is from classmates(some who don't know what they're doing), not him.

Best English teacher I've ever had! He was extremely considerate. I was going to school full time and I had two jobs working over 40 hours a week and he understood completely. I got behind and he offered me an incomplete. I got an extra month to turn in my final project, he gave me an A on it and then gave me a 3.5 in the class. You must take him!

He is very nice and out going. We finish what we need to do for the day then he lets us leave. Sometimes it might take all of class sometimes only 40 minutes. He never makes us stay just to sit there. He grades fairly. Lots of one on one time.

I was so worried because I don't like writing papers, but he was really awesome and very clear with you on what you needed to do to make your paper better. I love how he has personal meetings with each student after each paper to go over it with you. He's awesome, if you can get him, please do!

ENG 101 online I had taken 101 ten years ago and used this as a refresher. This time around it felt as if there was 10x the amount of work. He did grade fairly, and if you put in the extra effort, he will award more points than available. Promptly responded to questions, expectations were made crystal clear and he was very professional.

Not enough characters to accurately rate Dr. Juchartz. I learned so much more than I expected. He was clear, quick to respond, and pushed me in areas I, arrogantly, thought I was already good in. You actually have to dig deep and use your brain. It was an honor to learn under his direction. His rating on here is grossly below reality.

By far the most intelligent professor I've ever had. He's very relaxed and progressive in his teaching. I've never enjoyed an English class as much as I did with him. You will be doing a lot of writing, but he is awesome and lets you branch out to use unique topics not just generic gun control, marijuana legalization, ect. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Dr. Juchartz is the best English teacher I've ever had. I love to write and he saw that and encouraged it in a way most professors do not. He is also a brilliant writer. He authored the textbook we used in the class. He was patient with everyone and gentle in his critique of some pretty terrible writing (LOL). He inspired me in my love of rhetoric!

I really enjoyed this professor. We had a lot of in-class discussions and debates that my whole class participated in. He kind of let us reign free with our papers, only giving his advice on corrections. Would take him again.

Great professor! Has individual conferences with each student a couple of times a semester to discuss your work and gives you a chance to make corrections for a better grade. Made me a lot more confident with my writing. I would without a doubt take another class of his.

Mr. Juchartz is an interesting guy. I was a little skeptical at first, because our first 2 papers were on controversial topics. In the end, I enjoyed most of the other writing assignments. He gives you plenty of time to revise and edit before the final drafts, so you don't stress too much. Overall, pretty laid back and cares about his students.

At first, the class will seem different from any other English comp class, but he makes it interesting. Controversial topics, makes you think. I definitely improved as a writer and persuader after taking this class. He is always willing to help and is easy to get ahold of via email. Would definitely take another one of his classes.

What an awesome professor! You end up growing as a writer. He pushes you to think outside the box and make you really think about what you have to say.

For those who want better writing endured throughout college, this is the class for you. Its overwhelming at first but rewarding. Ask for help if you need it and read the syllabus. In-fact, read everything twice because part of writing is understanding instructions thoroughly. Be prepared and don't assume to get the work done day before due.

Dr. J is very passionate about his teachings and cares about the class learning and succeeding. He was very thorough in his class assignments and lecture videos. Excellent instructor! I cannot say enough good things about him. I hope I am fortunate enough to have more instructors like him on my learning journey. Thank you, Dr. J! :)
