HOPE I GET HIM AGAIN...MAKES MATH AS SIMPLE AS IT CAN BE. PUSHES YOU TO DO YOUR BEST. GREAT TEACHER
great teacher, makes you work hard but he develops the class well and keeps your interest by linking the timeline together well. if you are seriously interested in learning I highly reccomend this teacher, if you just want to squeek by with a credit avoid him altogether
Great teacher! I hope to have him for 152 as well! Cynical about history, but that is what made his class fun and enjoyable. I will always remember Lizard-Boy and One-Cell Girl and all the other crazy illustrations on the board :o)
I promise you, you'll never have a more interesting teacher. He's absolutely hilarious. He'll try to scare you the first day of class, but you'll come to realize he's not that bad. I would recommend him just for the experience of learning his point of view. You'll learn a lot.
The Best Teacher I've Ever Had! First day he tries to scare you to see who will drop the class (which some people did), but then when u have him, he's great! The class is entertaining and you really learn not just from the book but outside of the box as well and he really makes you think. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU WANNA LEARN
He definitely tries to scare you the first day but his class is so worth it. You do have to do the work and he does expect good if not great work. He is very entertaining and you learn. You will definitely learn! Loved him, enjoyed listening to him in class.
HE IS A GREAT TEACHER. EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE BECAUSE HE IS KNOWLEDABLE AND KNOWS WHAT'S HE IS TALKING ABOUT. HE DOES TRY TO SCARE,BUT HE THE BEST HISTORY TEACHER I EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!HIS CLASS IS INTERESTING AND FUN. YOU WILL BE LAUGHING FROM BEGINING OF CLASS TO END! I NEVER LIKED HISTORY BEFORE MR. K CLASS AND I ENJOY HISTORY.SO I HIGHLY RECOMMEND H
great teacher, knew the material and how to present it. looking foward to more of his classes
he is a wonderful teacher and i really enjoyed how he taught the class. his point of view and ways of getting things across to you seem harsh, but really make you understand history alot better. if you can get into his class, you won't be sorry.
He was a very helpful and caring teacher. Very clear on his expectations and very fair. Expect clear material and valuable lessons to be gained. The best of my 3 professors this period (Autumn 2008).-Robert
Mr. Kleinhenz is a good teacher overall. He expects hard work from you and has no mercy if you dont give him just that. However, He makes the class interesting and makes learning enjoyable. If you want to learn take his class but if you want an easy A then steer clear.
Professor Kleinhenz was a very good teacher.I really liked how he let you rewrite papers and things like that because it gave you a chance to learn from your mistakes. He made his class extremely interesting because students were encouraged to participate. His jokes were entertaining as well.If you do your work and come to class you'll do well.
One of the best teachers ever. Very interesting lectures. Keeps you on task and ready to learn.
Mr. K is a professor that would rather you drop his class than attend and waste his and your time. You must do your readings. You must do all your work. There is no room for slackers. He will make you feel stupid if you do slack off. I would recommend you getting a highlighter and voice recorder for this class and show up. He is a very good profess
Mr. Kleinhenz expects you to be your best. Do the work, pay attention in class, you will succeed. You will learn! His class was NEVER boring. He's very straight forward. My favorite professor thus far!
If you're looking for a historical education; Mr. K. is the teacher for you. If you're looking for an easy grade; you'll embarrass yourself in his class. Mr. K. expects perfection, and accepts no less than excellence. Awesome Educator, by far the best I've met on campus!
Great quality of teaching with great insight, one of the best teacher's I've had, class is not easy though, allot is expected but he honestly wants to see his students succeed and lean. My only complaint is that he was somewhat disorganized and many times he did not have our handouts ready or said that he outlined requirements when he did not.
If your looking for an easy A or B this is not the teacher for you! Not very helpful or nice but makes you do your work, even if you do he still makes you look like a fool! Class was never boring but he tends to rant about the present government and such things. In a nut shel not the teacher for ME and personaly wouldn't refer him.
He claims to be easy but he is unclear, talks down to people, most often rants about government instead of talking about the material, and changes the assignment requirements on the due date! If you know a lot about the class already he will most likely annoy you. Class is an easy A but only IF he sticks to his plan.
He went from teaching math to humanities, i think anything he teaches he will always be an awsome teach... thanks Mr. K.....
Mr. k is one of the best Hum teachers that I have ever had. He gives out alot of work and expects excellence. If you are looking for an easy A or B, this is not the teacher for you. You have to all the work with perfection to get an A or B. Sometimes he could be kind of unclear about some of the assignments, but overall he cares about the studen
He was alright, he tries to scare people but he didnt scare me. I think he is cool. It did seem like a hard class though and I thought it was going to be easy. He also wants you to expand your knowledge beyond the book.
You can't fault him for his honesty. He doesn't sugar coat his words, admits he will not put up with crap and he doesn't, BUT....hands down the best professor I have ever had.He opened my eyes on a lot of issues. He makes you WANT to make a difference in the world-Thanks Mr.K
helpful human
He will try to scare you on the first day but it's not a joke, he is tough. If you're looking for an easy A take anyone else. If you want to really learn take his class. He's great, but get ready to study.
Mr. Kleinhenz is a GREAT teacher. But he has ADD! He needs to focus on what he is trying to teach us. And prepare his students for what is on the test and not what he thinks a college student should already know. If we knew this information or how to optain it we wouldn't be in this class.
Reading the text is a must! A lot of test questions came from the primary source book. The weekly quizes are super easy just do a little research the first week. Midterm was ridiculous but the papers let you even out points. If you don't like/not good at writing do not take him. Gets off topic very often but slighly amusing with the carrot picking.
He's really a good teacher, but you might hate all the homework he slaps onto you. It just teaches you to stay organized, that's for sure!
Great professor, he really made you look beyond your text book. Tended to go off topic sometimes but was able to tie whatever he was ranting about back to the lesson. Great guy, and a great teacher. Don't be a Dubrikus in his class and you'll do fine.
Overall interesting. His knowledge of the criteria is high
Very good teacher. Helps you think outside the box. Gives out a lot of work, but if you attend every class and do the work the way it is supposed to be done, then you should have no problem recieving an A or a B. (the only grades he accepts!!)
funny HIGHLY entertaining prof.introduces untraditional thoughts into the course.saw he offended some with his humor however it kept my attention.if you want a lil south part in your american history take him, gets off topic, exams are fair however inclass test ?s were sometimes not covered in class.expects u2 read& many papers.i want him for 152! <3
He is not as mean as he first seems. He really is nice. I liked him because he got us to think critically about the subjects in the book. he was difficult, but if you tried and worked hard it was doable.
Amazing professor, believed in hard work and earning your own grade; he was blunt and knew his information; enjoyed going to class 2 days a week..hope i have him in another class sometime
Mr.Kleinhenz creates an solid college level learning atmossphere. My experience with Mr. K was fun and critical in relation to the subjects. I would highly recomend Mr. K to any student needing to take theb course.
Mr. Kleinhenz is a great teacher. He really did make this class one to remember. Stellar Rating!
At first I did not think I would like professor but as time went along he made you think outside the box about issues from our history. I will try to take his 152 class next.
5th quarter, lots of professors, so far Kleinhenz is the BEST. You will learn more from this man than anybody else, with still so much left to learn from him. I can say he changed college for me. Extremely smart and will force you to look beyond your book and actually learn something. Get his HUM class, you may not know it now, but you need it.
Stay away from him!! I am a standard A student, and I love HUM. However, this professor made this class one of the worst at CS. Mr. Kleinhenz is not professional: he does not explain anything in class, does not provide any clear guides for tests, and grades unfairly.Problems on his quizzes and tests were discussed neither in class nor in the book!!
Could tell the class was going to be wayyyy harder than it was supposed to be, he does make you think whenever you are in his class but he assigned 4+ hours of homework the first day of class, dropped it and am taking the course online.
He cleary censors what you read on these boards, he removed my comment about how he really grades in his class. Making you write 4 page essays that are only worth 10 points or less. The man is a sham and like I said he censors these boards if you tell the truth so dont believe all the positive stuff you see here
I took 112 before I took 111 with this professor. I loved 112 and received an A. I had a 4.0 last quarter but that changed this quarter with this professor. He was not helpful and I believe he graded unfairly. I was oblivious to everything on tests even though I did all homework and assignments and only missed one day of class when I had mono.
I had failed this class twice online before taking it inclass. He was very hard headed and wasnt helpful to you in any way shape or form. he makes you feel kind of stupid when you dont know the answer to a question or you can build on what you are saying. I got good grades on the homework but i worked hard on the first paper and failed for no reaso
Come prepared!
A true teacher. Takes no short cuts. Always on time, always professional. His class pushes you to your potential. If you really want to know what you're made of, take his classs. If you fail, I guarantee its not because of him.
He was unlike any i have ever had. He expects A efforts from all his students and gives an A effort as a teacher. He is always on time and professional. His class requires a lot of effort if your trying to get by, you will not do well in his course. His teaching style requires you to follow up on the material, but if you do you will Learn A lot.
Very difficult class, requires a lot of work, which is expected in a college class. Just come prepared and study, study, study!!
gives alot of homework, however it is only busy work, and really just boost your grade.the tests are very difficult but he gives take home essays, that are 2/3 of the exam grade. he assigns 2 papers, both of which he is more then willing to look over and give advice to get a better grade. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will get behind.
Good lord this class was something else. Rambling speeches EVERY CLASS!
At times he does ramble and get off topic and his class can be fairly dull. However, if you put in the effort and do the work, you will get a good grade. There is A LOT of homework assigned each week and he expects VERY detailed answers. If you're not willing to do it, you should probably find a different professor.
I have no idea what you guys are seeing in class that im not...TOO MUCH work..make sure you take HIS class with no other hard class...Too much work, short class periods, nearly min. Help, doesnt smile, nor respond to voice messages or phone calls. Also if you are the religious type and Know Jesus if OUR Lord and Savior. I suggest you dont take Him
Anyone who gives this guy a bad review clearly didn't even try. One of the most important things Kleinhenz teaches is about grades. YOU earn them. He doesnt grade you. So do yourself a favor and take his class and go prepared to learn. He is a bit rough around the edges and gives a lot of homework, but he teachers one of the best classes Ive taken.
I retract my previous statement. I made a comment (4/8/10) and I was a lil harsh.First his points AFTER 12 WEEKS made sense,So just come to class pay attention, do your homework, eventho its ALOT, and make time to study. Take home Midterm and Finals, be specific in your writing No Crap dont be offended nor afraid to Speak up in Class earn's A grades
Loads you up with massive confusing and almost pointless homework on your first day, refuses to answer questions, aggressively monotone voice, constantly talks about God and calls students out on their beliefs, can be offensive, humorously lies a lot, very rough teacher but don't let him scare you off. I'm going tough it out. Careful!
At First Worst Teacher In the World. Then when He sees you trying he will lighten up and he is super funny but Lots Of Hard Homework at first, then also he lightens up. Super interesting Class and he makes you think out of the Box, don't take if not dedicated to your grade....
Not a bad teacher tries to scare away those who wont work in the first couple off days. In the beginning I thought he was just a rambler, however by the end of the class the things he discussed really made sense. He really made me think and question the world by the end of the class. If he teaches other humanities class, I'll be attending.
The first day seems to be the worst day in your life, when he says that he has only 2 grade in his class, A or B. it makes you think about it for a seconde, and also the homework for the first couple weeks is hard, and alot; however, if you show your interest to the teacher, and the class, you will find that he's a nice person, funny
Keeps you on your toes. Good teacher, definitely aggressive
As tough as some people may say he is, you can really appreciate how he makes the students think outside the box. He does give a lot of homework though. You can't be lazy if you plan on passing.
I really enjoyed his class, in the beginning i thought he would be mean, but in actuality, he wasnt. If i could i would have him as a teacher again
Great teacher is willing to give his students chances. Mr K is helpful and rescoureful with information. He was one of the best professors I have had so far, and I wish I could have him for more classes.
He is a tough guy but as long as you dp your work and participate in discussions its an easy A. I appreciated that he's more about concepts rather than dates and vocab, there is homework but usually you have a whole week AND he doesn't give out weekly quizzes like other profs. that teach this course.
The first day of class I thought he was going to be a real hard teacher and he threw me off when he told the class whatever seat we were in that would more than likely be our letter grade for his class...I was in the "F" seat!!!And I started to reconsider taking his class but stuck to it. He assigns alot of homework assignment but you have a week t
Mr. K came off as mean at first but he does that just to see who is serious about the class and who is not. It is easy to get a good grade as long as you do the work and show up. Though he gives a lot of homework it is not about the right answer but getting you to think. Do that and participate and you'll do just fine.
he was a great teacher. Was intimidating at first but was very helful in the end. He is very serious about his class, although he makes it fun if you participate. He wants a lot out of his students but its not that hard as long as you give yourself study time and show up to class! he was one of the best teachers i have had!
Great teacher! He is very professional and expects only 100% in return. You get more than an understanding of the humanities from the class, you get a lessons in life.
I think he believes anyone who takes his class has nothing else to do but read and do homework for his class. Other than that he is a great teacher.
Mr. Kleinhenz was a very good teacher. He makes you think about things and makes you think about why you believe what you believe. He is probably one of my favorite teachers i have had at Columbus State. At the beginning of the quarter he comes of very strict and harsh but by the end of the quarter he lightens up. He cares alot about his students.
Very good teacher. Easy grade if you do the work, which is a lot. Fun class. Be respectful, read the assignments and do your homework... then it is a wonderful experience.
He is an Excellent teacher who uses a different teaching method that actually gets to us as students. He is very dramatic and expressive, which makes a two hour class in the morning Very attentive. Great teacher, lots of work for the class, but he is my favorite teacher for his approach to teaching.
Awesome teacher. Wants to know YOUR opinion in all hmwrk assignments. Gives excellent lectures, and does not post any assignment on black board. Must attend classes, overall great experience if you allow yourself to open up to different views.
Very eccentric professor. He is there because he loves what he does, and is very good at it. Tries to keep the classes attention and involve everyone in the class.
Toughest Prof. I have ever had, but one of the GREATEST! He expects a lot from his students, tons of homework... but he makes you think outside the box... Do your homework, participate in class and although you will fear the wrath of Mr. K., you will also respect him and learn so much from this class...
Easily one of the highest quality professors I have ever had. His lectures really force you to think about relevant issues. The course itself is a lot of reading but the assignments are not difficult; time consuming, but not difficult. As long as you do all the readings, and justify all your responses, you will really enjoy your class with Mr. K.
Made me think outside of the box. Taught from notes from another book than one we were required to buy. Demanding, well read, diverse, interesting and approachable (as long as you are not goofing off) Thanks for the quarter Mr. K!!!!
Very knowledgable about the material. He is very sure to make you think outside of what you are reading. He shares his experiences in life, and ties it in with his lectures. Overall great teacher. I would recomend if you can, get in one of his classes.
Great teacher and very helpful. There is a lot of homework and a lot of reading material but when it comes to the tests it is worth it. no note taking required. as long as you read the material the class will go by very smoothly.
I love the way he teaches, he makes people think about different things that is very nice. I just love him!!!
He definitely knows his stuff. Very strict and demanding. He is not easy at all, but you will know the information when you are done.
Actively pushed students to dissect what influenced events in American history. Enthusiastic toward his subject and life, making class discussions interesting. Unfortunately, his studies of history and human nature has made him depressing to listen to. Avoid if you dislike reading and writing, alternative theories on history, and critical thinking.
Interesting course. Easy if you don't miss class, keep up w/reading and do homeworks. Mr. K is a fun teacher. He knows history and encourages students to relate history w/current events and to think for themselves. You must devote time for reading. Discussing in class is fun-participated learning. I'd take Mr. K class again if needed. Glade :-)
A very high quality educator, is not easy?but is very realistic. Would take again for another class if I had the opportunity. I would easily rank him as one of the "toughest" teachers I've had, but that isn't a negative thing, he makes you want to work hard and stay on top of the material. A very memorable teacher.
Kleinhenz is refreshingly old-school. He demands that you show up, participate, do the readings, put proper effort into your writing, and most of all, use your brain. In return, you get an instructor who is willing to challenge your established view of history and really make you think about the way the world works. Highly recommended. ~ Marc
This professor used rough and even crude tactics to drive his students into an understanding of the subject matter. Some students might even find him offensive. I loved every second of it and i know that his students leave with something they never had before!
Absolutely loved this class. His theories, ideas, facts and energy were money well spent. I look forward to seeing him on campus and in life. I plan to take another of his classes just to learn more. I plan to teach just like him when I get there. Epic. Try hard, the good kind of tough. We need more instructors like him.
What an amazing experience this class was, and it was all due to Mr. K. I dreaded taking this class, but it easily became one of my favorite of all time! He is strict, but fair. His expectations are high, but Mr. K. is the kind of teacher that inspires you to learn and be your best! I encourage everyone to take one of his classes. He's a great man
Mr. K. is tough but fair. He expects quality work from you. He's engaging, interesting, challenging, thought provoking, and even a bit abrasive. His style is can be gruff but he succeeds at inspiring you to learn and to think. I'd recommend any of his classes. He's top notch in my book.
Mr. K. can feel like a bit of a brute in the beginning, but he's truly a fantastic teacher. Come to class with an open mind, thick skin and a willingness to challenge your own beliefs. Also, be ready to read like you've never read before. I've never flown through any textbook like I did with this one! Would definitely take a class with him again!
Come prepared and then brace yourself; the ride is interesting. Mr. K. expects your best effort and more. Liked this class alot!
Mr.k was a great teacher, would definitely recommend him to future students. I learned a lot and had a lot of good laughs .
He is a great professor to have teach such a broad subject. If you do the work and pay attention there is no reason why you should't succeed.
He doesn't take BS so if you want to slide by in a class he is not the instructor for you. But if you bring something to the table and participate in class you can learn a lot from the wise Mr. K and get an A in the class.
Mr. K has been one of the best professors I have ever had. He relates well to the students and tries to make the class as easy as possible as long as you do the work. He is really excited about what he teaches which makes the class much more enjoyable than expected. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.
He is good at teaching in a way that is easily understood.
Awesome teacher. If you come in with a genuine interest in this class you should be okay. Mr. K is a wonderful teacher and I reccomend him 100%. Give it the best that you can and relax. Great teacher.
at first your going to think that this class will be horribly challenging taught by a atheist but thats only not even the case. The Mr. K speaks in class is only his way of getting you to open your mind and get you to think for yourself. He's fun intersting and upfront with you about everything. anyone thinking of taking his courses should do so.
Mr.K is an excellent professor that actually wants his students to have the best learning experience possible. He can be strict but in the end you may appreciate it and coming to class is key. A quote from Mr.K, "I want you to work for what you want your grade to be." This is very true for his class, in the end you will enjoy the class no doubt.
Mr. K is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He cares more about getting students to think outside the box rather than textbook memorization. If you go to class and do your homework, he'll work with you to make sure you get a good grade in his class.
Mr. K. works hard to make the material interesting, and he expects the same from his students. Be ready to put forth some effort; Mr. K. doesn't care for excuses if you aren't working hard. I recommend him to anyone who isn't afraid to EARN their grade- but if you're lazy, you'd better find another professor!
Mr. K is a great teacher. Although he may seem harsh at first, he always seems to come out a great teacher. For those who are looking to take a good class I would take it with Mr. K.
Mr.Klienhenz is very informative and fair. The phrase "you will get out what you put in" is how he runs his classes. If you're willing to put your best foot forward and do well he will do everything in his power to help you and give you the grade you deserve. There is a lot of work, yes, but it all is worth it. Fun class and great discussions!!!!
Mr. K seems harsh at first but he really cares about the education and growth of the students.
Mr. K is a very good teacher. He will challenge your beliefs and encourage you to open your mind. Do the work and go to class and he will help you earn the grade you deserve. I enjoyed his class very much.
He seems strict and like a tough grader on the first day, but he really is not that bad. He knows what his responsibility as a teacher is and what yours should be as a student. Just attend the classes and do the work he assigns. Not a lot of instructors are like him. I recommend him to a lot of people.
A great teacher; very engaging and helpful. Goes off on offbeat tangents; his way of stimulating conversation and ‘outside the box’ thinking. Course is tough: the material and assignments will challenge you but in a good way. Mr K wants you to succeed so meet him halfway, and he will work with you. I’m taking him again next semester.
Mr. K's class is not a "walk in the park" You do have to be prepared for each class by reading the required material thus giving you the ability to discuss the topic in class. His style of teaching was enjoyable, which in turn made the class enjoyable. After the semester, I was much more knowledgeable as a result! Thank you Mr. K!!
Mister K is awesome! Like the above comments say, he may seem strict at first, but is really a great teacher. Quizzes every week help to keep the topics fresh in your mind. His class is very interesting, and if you put in the work, you'll receive the grade. Like Mister K says there are only A's and B's in his class.
I really enjoyed Mr. K and his teachings. I learned significant and relevant information that can be related to events happening in today's day of age. He also urged the class to think outside of the box which is a huge part of being a college student. Thank you Mr. K.
Mr. K was a very good teacher. Mr K. always kept the topics about the chapter we were going over. He also gave out a Quiz that he would have us take home and do so we would go over the chapter at home and the next class he would always go over it. I thought it was very helpful. He was a hard grader but that just made you try harder.
Mr. K was an awesome history teacher. He comes off a little scary at first but overall you get the grade you deserve. If you aren't happy with your grade he will go out of his way to try to help you recieve the one you want. Overall he's a great professor!
Mr.K. is an awesome teacher. Day one of class I was terrified because he was straight to the point with his expectations of you and your work. NO slacking Do the reading and keep up with assignments you will be fine. I got an A and I was thrilled. His in-class discussions really get you thinking Awesome teacher you will learn alot by taking class
Mr K. is a better than average professor. He encourages students to open their minds and think critically. Discussions are great. It's a lot of work but if you put forth the effort you will eat the fruits of your labor. He knows his role and expects you to know yours as a student. Slackers beware!
Mr. K was the best teacher ive had ever. yea he does get off topic a little bit during discussions but you always are learning something. he knows what he is talking about and explains it very well. more teachers should be like him.
Mr. K is a boss. his lectures kept me awake when i was ready to fall asleep, his take on history is unlike anything you learned in high school and he is very open about your grade. do precisely what he says, you will receive an A, guaranteed. keep your chapter quizzes... the final is incredibly similar ;)
I hate history, but this class is was easy. You don't need to actually remember random dates and people. YOUR BOOK and BLACKBOARD are your BFs in this class.
Mr. K is awesome. This class is definitely not traditional because he would rather you think for yourself than memorize the textbook. You get out what you put into this class. Would definitely recommend Mr. K.
Mr K is an excellent lecturer. He makes the subject easy to understand via in-class discussions and assignments, and through external reading. He states his expectations clearly, so you'll reap what you sow in this class. He may be strict with his expectations, but his lessons are fun and enriching. I've learnt a lot from his class. Thank u Mr K!
Mr. K was a fantastic History Teacher. He relates history to real life and how it has effected the political world, even up to this day. He is not unreasonably hard, like he says, "The effort you put in is the grade you'll get in the class. I highly recommend him.
Awesome instructor, the class is somewhat intense and controversial. Very informative and interesting but you will definitely have to put in a lot of effort if you intend on doing well. He gives you every opportunity to do well and plenty of time to complete assignments. Very comical and entertaining but leave your inhibitions at the door.
At first I thought he was crazy. Whether he is or not isn't the point. It took me a few classes to get used to him, but eventually you realize he knows what he is talking about. The work isn't bad as long as you keep up with the class and pay attention. Great teacher.
He is blunt and very forward with his teaching style. The first weeks of the class I had to adjust. As the semester progressed he became my favorite instructor. He is knowledgeable and clearly cares about the students. He comes across abrasive but he is there to truly educate and he expects you to try your best, thats all. Great instructor!!!
Good teacher overall. Very straight forward and very funny.
Such a great professor. I was failing out of this class with another professor and he agreed to take me in as a student and help me get by. He helped greatly. He is a very blunt guy and always says what he thinks. He knows his stuff and will leave you knowledgeable on the subject!
Mr. K was by far the best COLLEGE teacher I've ever had. He is passionate, will open up your mind, and strictly follows the book. If you read and participate, it's a breeze. Definitely keep those weekly homework packets.. Wink wink.
best teacher that I have ever had for history. first time I met him I thought that he was crazy, but I decided to give him a second chance, and this class was the most useful for me this semester. also, he doesn't really care if you know dates in history and is more interested in helping you know why the people in history did what they did.
what a fantastic teacher. He is the best history teacher I have ever had. The first da I thought that he was a crazy old man, but he has incredibly deep views of the world. An easy A class if you put the work in. He will not sugar coat anything in the class, give it to you stright. Could not recemend this class more!!
he a is great teacher. he tells you up front exactly what he expects, and honestly, we should always expect that from ourselves..to do our best! If you don't give it your all, why waste your money? Very informative, knows his stuff. I realllly enjoy this class(getting A's on papers is exciting), and he is a good, caring professor.
He is a little crazy, scattered brained, and rambles a lot. However he tells you exactly what you need to do for a good grade. Be prepared to think and be prepared to feel belittled. He loves to call out stupidity but he will push you to succeed. Do NOT take this course if you want to goof off. You can learn a lot from him.
It's a fun class and you'll learn a lot. Simple as that.
If you are interested in History and ready to gain knowledge working hard and have a good grade, then Mr. Kleinhenz will give you even more knowledge. In his class, through discovering history I also discovered myself. His class helped me to overlook some points of view abut the life. I was impressed how hard he worked grading our papers on time.
Witty and entertaining. Mr. K is one of the best Prof I've had the privilege to learn from. He relates current affairs with the topics discussed, and gives good recommendations on external sources for those keen on exploring and learning more. If you want to do well for 1151 & 1152, keep up with the assignments and read. You'll have a ball.
Mr. K is a great teacher! I didn't think I would like him the first day, and my husband encouraged me to go back because he had him as well. All he wants is for you to put a little effort into your homework, turn it in on time, and show up to class. If you do this you will get an A. I really enjoyed his class, and he made me laugh quite often.
Mr. K is one of the best professors that I have ever had and I would take another one of his classes in a heartbeat. His knowledge of American history is fantastic and you can tell that he loves the subject and truly cares about his students and how there doing in his class.
The first day of class was SCAREY!! I thought I was going to hate this guy!! I found that I actually loved his class this semester! He makes the 2 hours fly by. He gives you every opportunity to succeed. You must attend class and you must THINK! He really makes you look at the ugly side of History ( the Reality!) and THINK about it! Loved him
Amazing professor! I was kinda nervous on the 1st day of class. He is funny and very knowledgeable. He pushes everyone to work hard and get the best grades possible. Be in class, read your material, show him your best efforts and He will make sure you get the grades you deserve. He made history class fun and interesting.
great and insightful class if you pay attenetion and keep up, changes the way you see things. constant work but its very worthwhile
I actually had the Kleinz in high school. I was 15. I became a history buff because of him. As it turns out, I took his 1151 class at Columbus State. Do not fear Kleinhenz, he will give you an enviable historical experience. He sent me to the Columbus Museum of Art for a projet. Good Man.
Best History teacher I've ever had. Wasn't very interested in history before this class, but the way Mr. K taught really made me listen. He not only makes you think deeply about history, but he also makes you want to take a deeper look into your own thoughts and beliefs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COURSE!!! He's crazy opinionated, but crazy smart too!
One of my favorite teachers at CSCC. He definitely makey you think. He genuinely cares about the students and wants them to learn and do well. He has no filter but that's what makes the class great. He relates everything to real life situations and you really learn and understand why history is important today. I'd definitely recommend!
Mr.K will blow your mind with commentary about how HISTORY is still in effect TODAY. He opened my eyes to a lot of topics that nobody wants to talk about, but need to be talked about. Participation is NEEDED to pass, but as long as you are participating you WILL pass. I enjoyed taking this course and highly recommend this teacher.
Awesome professor. How he relates the past with current events makes his class very interesting and really makes you think. He genuinely wants his students to do the best they can, and if he believes that you are, you'll do fine in the class. Lots of work and reading but you're given plenty of time to do so. If you need a history credit, take his.
Mr. K was an awesome teacher to have. He really gave great insight not only in understanding the material but why the material was important. Homework load wasn't to bad. Mr. K needs a raise and a fishing vacation.
I just took his History 1151, and 1152 courses because he is an amazing instructor. He makes you think in ways that you never would ordinarily. That alone was my favorite part of the course. Yes, there's reading involved but if you are genuinely interested in US history it'll be something you wont mind doing. Anyways, amazing instructor!!!
Entry level history class and he expects way too much work. Talks down to people, even talked down to a slow kid in class. (I hope others mention that in their reviews) Threatened to keep us until 6pm if more people didn't participate. (Class was from 12 to 130) It's college, not high school.
Wants you to THINK, and reconsider your preconceptions about the past and the present. You NEED to show up and participate, so if you don't go to your classes, don't bother. Serious about deadlines, but provided tons of chances to raise grades - rewrites, extra credit, etc. Sometimes sounds harsh, but a great guy. Cares if you learn something.
Mr.K is a great teacher. I just finished his hist1151 course and was hoping he would be teaching 1152 but so far it hasn't been assigned. He is a tough but fair grader who expects you to participate In class discussions. Know the material and think outside the box. He wants answers that challenge the social standard. He doesn't like textbook answrs
He is a good Professor i think he was fair, he gives you the chance to do the work. He will help you if you need the extra work, but he does expect you to read the book and stories he assigns. If you do not come to class prepared, and have the work done he will know it. As long as you do the work and show an effort, you will do good in class.
Great teacher! While there 's a lot of work in this class, he emphasizes that if you work hard and do your best, you will do well. The only down side was the lectures; he tends to go fast and it's hard to take notes. So definitely use the textbook! He also likes you to be prepared for class and participate.
I've never had a good history with history-this semester changed that. Mr. K ended up replacing our original professor; so glad this happened! He's an opinionated, yet open-minded guy. If you have the privilege of having him, take the information and ideas he shares with you and RUN with them. "How do you know, if you don't know, you don't know?"
Mr.K is definitely one of the best History teachers you'll ever have. He isn't like other teachers, who just tell you to read out the textbook. He makes you think outside of the box, and makes you be the best you can be. I would definitely retake this course if I could, and if you can always take a history course with Mr.K.
Mr K is a great teacher. He actually makes you think about things and question the garbage you have been fed in High School. If you show up, read your assignements and participate in class you will be fine. He wants discussion, not lectures. He askes nothing more than for you to give your best. Would love to have him again for another class.
Knowledge is all yours but it's your job to really think outside the box in this class. Reading is very important but going in to depth about what is being taught and talked about is just as important. He really makes history interesting again. He really opens your eyes to what's going on and gives great inspiration to keep educating yourself.
If you want to take a history class that allows you the perspective of what was really going on, this is the class. Mr. K is an amazing instructor. He is straight forward and to the point. He makes you earn your grade but gives you every opportunity to so so. EVERY week he gave people who's grade was low an extra assignment to bring it up. Awesome.
The 1st class you'll realize that you know nothing about American History. DO NOT drop the class because of it. This was probably the best class I've ever taken and I enjoyed waking up to come to it. By the end of the semester, you'll know all of the things you didn't know the 1st day. Hands down, my favorite class at CSCC. Take this class.
Mr. K is great! If you read the assignments and participate in class you will do just fine. He opens your eyes to the world and makes you see it from a new perspective. very inspirational. I would highly recommend him as a teacher. Just be prepared to write a lot of papers and read!
Mr. K is the best history instructor at cscc. He is a fair grader and lays out his expectations before every class. He's funny, witty, and makes the class enjoyable.
Mr. K is a fantastic teacher who helps you make sure you leave class knowing what your history was really about. A very fun teacher who gives you a chance to speak your mind in class. A great teacher for this course. Highly recommended if you're planning on taking an American History course!
I highly recommend Mr.K! He relates history back to what is going on in today's world, and put you in senecios in the past - really makes you think. You definitely earn your grade in this class, but well worth the work. History is my least favorite subject, but he taught my favorite class. I'd take another course with him!!
Honestly, I did not enjoy Mr. K's class at all. I dreaded coming to this class because he constantly called on random people to speak or answer questions and it was embarrassing if you didn't know the answer. His lectures were long and boring. The good thing about this class was that all the tests were take-home, but he is a tough grader.
Expectations are intimidating at first, but the routine becomes normal. Be PREPARED to be questioned and put on the spot every class. I HATED being called out with a passion, but it taught me to come well prepared. If you do the homework(sooo much), take home tests, and essays you'll do just fine. Learned more in his class than all of grade school
He is a tough teacher, but an amazing lecturer. While I had to work very hard for my grade once I got into the swing of things everything came fairly easy. Expect tons of homework and DO NOT slack or else you will find yourself very far behind. He expects you to answer questions so always come prepared and read the pages he gives you.
He is a very intense and intimidating teacher. He gives a lot of homework but if you do it you'll pass easily. Do not be afraid to speak up in class-he wants to hear you talk. Even if you are wrong. Participation is essential to passing, do not skip or you will most likely fall behind and fail. He gives chances to catch up but don't waste his time.
Good professor. Read and do your homework.
You can expect homework most of the time, but you get a lot of extra credit opportunities, too. Midterm and final are both take-home, which is great. He's a bit of a tough grader, but if you work hard, participate, and show interest you'll do very well. Would definitely take again!
Lots of Homework. Take home midterm and Finale. And plenty of chances to improve your grade. He's a tough instructor but he just wants you to do your best.
Mr K is very fair. Work hard and you will do well.
His lectures are very involving and gives room for open discussion. Very inspirational, and knows his material very well. He challenges you to think&expand your knowledge beyond written material; assignes plenty of extra credits, and makeup work for you to level yourself up to an A. Do your research and assignments and you'll secure yourself an A.
1 can't really cover up everything about this amazing professor in just 350 characters. This is the 2nd post for me. I've always hated history, but he made it very interesting and worthwhile through unforgettable lectures; making you question everything you've ever learned in history. I recommend him to any 1 looking to expand his/her knowledge.
He's not a bad teacher just firm he was very helpful when things came up if u miss class u better have a friend get homework and papers or he trashes them. U have to read and do homework and talk during class or I won't pass if u do ur work u will learn stuff I know more now then I learned in high school in regards to history.
Mr. K really makes you think, unlike professors who just lecture. It was an interesting class. I would recommend it if you are interested in U.S. history.
He is really good ! I learned a lot in his class I got a B! He is amazing at explaining things. Take home final and quizzes . He is a really tough grader we only had one student who got a 100 on their paper but other wise he is really nice and I would recommend him to anyone
Professor Kleinhenz was a tough teacher. He really expects the best out of his students. If you aren't willing to work for your grade his classes would not be for you. Otherwise, he was good. I learned a lot, and built up my confidence in what I know and what I have learned. Something I didn't like was that were no notes to prepare for tests.
Professor Kleinhenz really opened my eyes to our country's history. You are expected to read a lot, however that is because you will not get the full picture unless you do so. Professor Kleinhenz really made this class fun and interesting and although I got a C, this was easily my favorite class this semester.
Mr Kleinhenz had great lectures. He brought up questions that made us really dig in and think about our answers. He expects you to do all your reading and keep up with the homework. Though he expects the best from you, he is flexible and allows students to re-do papers if they aren't satisfied with their grade. Overall a great teacher who is fair.
Professor K is one of the best lecturing instructors at CSCC, if not the best. Lectures and topics will challenge your beliefs, and force personal growth. Because of his class I look at the world differently and assess more healthy skepticism.
There was A LOT of homework, but it was easy. The quizzes were all take home. As well as the midterm and final.
I didn't really enjoy this professor but at least I got through the class.
well respected, to the point, and understanding
Drove me crazy sometimes, but in the end he wants every student to be the best they can be.
Impossible to take notes. Uses intimidation and will call people out. Know the material or be prepared to be humiliated. If you're absent, make sure you have a friend to get you the homework - he won't help out. Asks for hard copies; nothing is turned in online. Challenges you to think from his perspectives.
He challenged me to push myself, I learned new things about history. I learned to think outside the box. Allows you to re-write papers to improve grades. Makes class interesting, a lot of homework. He is intelligent and intimidating. Take this class.
a terrific teacher
At first I thought it was awful, for it is a lot of lectures, but in the end I loved his blunt and creative lectures. There is extra reading, however it allows you to really understand the aspects of the time period. He is understanding if you have to miss a class. Overall he generally wants you to succeed and will help you in anyway he can.
He was a great teacher, scary at first but one gets used to it. Be ready to work hard and have plenty of work outside of class. You learn more in class than you could ever from a book, but whether or not it is based solely on the class, probably not. Overall great class.
Enjoying the class and the lectures are a blast.
Great professor. Knows what he is talking about.
Took Mr. K's class 2 years ago this summer. I've since gone on to a 4 year college. No other class prepared me for the critical thinking that I have to use on a daily basis for my classes. It is very obvious in my classes to who lacks these critical thinking skills. Fantastic professor.
Mr. K gives outstanding lectures that make you think and prepares you for other higher educational classes. I'm thankful I had Mr. K! If you skip class you definitely will not pass, as participating and answering questions is a part of your grade.
A lot to read and plenty of homework. All exams and quizzes, even the final, are take home; so it is not hard to get an A. He goes over the quizzes in class before turning them in so you won't have any wrong answers. The lectures are good and make you analyze history through a different perspective.
Mr. K was the best teacher I've had. His lectures were amazing, at times they can be really long. He can be a tough grader at times but it helps tremendously for the on coming papers. He gives you the essay material in a month advance so you have plenty of time. Mid term, quizzes, final are take home. It's not hard to get an A/B!
