he is a good reason why i did so well in the rest of my chem classes at CSUSB. He is an excellent teacher for 215 and 216.

I had Mink this summer, and it was the easiest class I have taken. I only studied a little and went to class every time and got a high A.

He is a very good teacher, he explains all the concepts you need for the exam. He is very clear about the material, and mixes between lecture and fun. He is very helpful if you have any questions. if you are not very interested in chemistry or are not good at it, then definitely that's the teacher for you. His exams are easy if you do homework

This class is the best one i have ever had. He is fun while teaching you what you need to know. I had a question and he helped me understand what i was doing wrong. His class is fun and i suggest this class for anyone who wants to have a great time and easier tests

Great Teacher!! Test were practically everything on the notes and lecture..Easy class if you study and review. I never liked Chemistry before...I learned to understand it.

Great Teacher he helps you alot.His tests and homeworks are easy,he loves chemistry and he'll bring up some memories of why he loves chemistry and most are funny, and sometimes he brings cool experiments to show to class, to summarize this teacher is great for students who don't like chemistry or chemistry at all.

Best Chemistry professor I have ever had! He doesn't take attendance, but it's worth going. Tests are just like the lecture notes/examples he gives in class. Super helpful. He even throws chemistry jokes. Really dorky, but it keeps you engaged.

I had him for both 215 and 216. Great professor, explains everything as thorough as possible and is happy to ask questions. I highly recommend him!

Awesome professor! Tests are fairly easy if you do your homework and take good notes. Only thing that sucks about him is his handwriting. It looks like scribbles, so you really have to listen while taking notes. Anyone who got a bad grade in his class can only blame themselves for not studying. Chemistry is not an easy subject.

Don't take chem during summer unless you plan to dedicate a lot of time studying. Dr. Mink is good. You have to go to the lectures though. I learned the hard way. You will do well if you read the text and go to class. He is pretty clear and explains everything wel.

Dr. Mink is awesome! You dont even have to read the book. EVERYTHING on the test comes directly from his lectures. He has test examples on BB! Hes very helpful and willing to answer ?s during his office hours, or discussion. I was very stressed out about taking this class and as long as you study its easy! Get a study group going! It worked for me!

Great professor! Aced class. He teaches the subject well and as easy to understand as possible... I didn't come to class much and just read and made detailed notes from the book since he basically follows it like a bible. For the days that I did attend, his lecture was the summary of the chapters but easier to understand. Read assigned chapters or

First text was easy, class average was 82%. Second test was fairly easy. Third test he threw in some theory short paragraph questions. Final was way more difficult than the whole class! Willing to answer questions. Offered an extra meeting time to go over homework. Great professor. Nice guy.

He helped us be able to better comprehend a hard subject, and broke it down so he would not loose anyone. He also is willing to answer any of your questions in and outside of class. I reccomend taking him for both classes.

Very difficult class. This class requires so much more work then Chem 215. The professor is great and makes this difficult subject easy to comprehend. Difficult lab. Difficult test. Study hard!

I had Prof Mink for Chem 215 and Chem 216. I am a Chemistry major, so the material came easy to me, but I still recommend taking him. Hes one of the best professors at csusb. 2 Midterms, and 1 Final. All material on the tests came straight from the Lectures. Lectures aren?t mandatory, but recommended if you want an A. (Summary Prof Mink = A+++)

I had Dr. Mink for both 215 and 216. 216 is so much harder than 215 but Dr. Mink explains the material very well. Very cool guy and smart. Im a bio major and almost wanted to change to a chem major because of him....almost

Great prof. He makes things easy to understand. However, you still have to study for midterms in order to get a good grade. The midterms do cover quite a few things so that's what makes them hard. You will need to go through the book a few times just to make sure things stick. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he's there to help

Awesome professor he gets lost in some of his own lectures but he always get right back on with the material. His exams are fairly easy and I definitely recommend him to anyone

Not only a great teacher, but also a tremendous person! His personality made the class a bit more enjoyable. If you can, go to his discussions, you'll learn a lot. Read the book, take good notes, and study the sample midterms. Beware: the sample midterms are far easier than the actual test. Especially the final. All in all, take Mink you'll love it

He is an awesome professor! He is very helpful and makes chemistry understandable. If you had bad experiencse with chemistry before, take his classes and you will change you mind in chemistry.

He is a great professor. The only thing is that you should go to his office hours for help. Also, make sure to participate in his discussions for a letter of recommendation. For 215 and 216 he is awesome. Study his practice mid-terms and final, good to pass :).

He knows exactly what he's talking about. He makes it fun to learn. If someone doesn't understand the lesson, he will try his best to help. Great professor!

I'm still taking his class right now, but so far he is a good professor. The class isn't hard at all. There are 3 midterms, 1 final, homework, and of course a lab. I never took AP Chemistry in high school, but if you did, then the materials in Chem 216 won't be new. Study hard and you'll do fine.

Good proff! sometimes his lectures can get a little confusing, but that's what tutoring is for! 3 midterms, one final, and homework is collected once a week... i'm terrible at chemistry but i'm understanding a lot so far! I'd recommend him!!! BUY THE BOOK.

Dr. Mink is great to have for both classes. I didn't even have to read the book because everything I needed to know was explained in class. Just take good notes. The book was for weekly homework. 2 exams & 1 comprehensive final. Sample tests posted online along with keys to hw assignments. All in all, he gives you everything you need to pass.

What can I say? He won the Golden Apple Award this school year. Had him for lab only. He was very helpful and he would tell me how to write m lab report during office hours to get a good grade. His instructions are easier to understand than other other lab instructors. His writing on the board are hard to understand though. Cool guy.

Mink is a great professor, as long as you attend every class and do your homework you will do fine. a good grade is definitely possibly its all about trying. he is there when you need him and he is patient to explain material until you understand it. mink is very passionate about the material and is transmitted during lecture. highly recommended

His lectures were clear. I took this class over the summer so sometimes the lectures went really fast but if you had a question he would do a good job explaining. He was easy to approach. I enjoyed this class but it was a lot of work. Don't expect to be able to skate by. His test can be a little tricky but he posts exam examples on blackboard

Overall he is a great teacher and his lectures are easy to understand and his test are hard but if you payed attention in class and actually did the homework then youll be fine.

Prof. Mink is a great person. He's willing to go out and beyond to help you succeed in his class. Lectures are well informed and highly exciting. He makes Chemistry fun and interesting. He has 3 testsmidterms and 1 final. His final IS cumulative, so be prepared to study. Lab for me was the most time consuming part of this class, but fun.

His class isnt' bad. the midterms are exactly like the study guides but different numbers. you do have to study, because he throws in things that aren't on the study guide. He is always willing to clear things up. Highly recommend him

Took it in the winter and passed with a B. he writes in cursive so its kind of hard but his classes are awsome!! has practice exams and he oploads his hw answers so u can check it. Make sure u do your HW!! it is very helpful. Test are kind hard but if u study your good! Need the book too!!

Prof. Mink was mad decent. I loved how he uploaded the HW key and practice exams online--very helpful. Beware, if you're taking him for 216 in the summer it will consume your life, especially if you work and attend lecture/lab.

I took him this summer. Larry is a great professor. His class lecture covers everything on the exams he gives. I passed this class with an A without reading the textbook, only needed it for the homework problems. He might switch to online HW next quarter. Lab is very time consuming but as long as you dedicate your time and effort then you're good)

He's A great professor and helps, and lab is fun with him, make sure to study and he does give practice test and study those too, and know the material and you will do fine.

He cracks good jokes and is very open to help or answer any questions Very approachable

Dr. Mink is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had throughout my entire college experience. His lectures were easy to follow even though the material was sometimes difficult, he never moved on unless the entire class understood. On top of that he makes jokes during lecture which helps when you are stressing over the material. Amazing

Dr. Mink was awesome this quarter. Clear lectures but sometimes can go a little fast. Make sure to always attend class and pay close attention. Also his test are no surprises and are based on the material studied in class.

Amazing professor! Chem 215 was a breeze thanks to him. Explains topics very well, he is very accessible out of class, if he sees that you have worked hard in the class he will bump up your grade. He does not curve the class. PLEASE STUDY OFF THE PRACTICE MIDTERMS HE POSTS ON BLACKBOARD!!!! The exams are practically identical! He is incredible!!!

Chem 216 is not an easy A but he makes the material manageable and understandable. He cares for his students. He deserves instructor of the year EVERY year! He will try his best to explain the concepts in different ways to ensure all his students understand. Very straight-forward. When he says something will be on the exam, IT WILL BE ON THE EXAM!

Dr. Larry Mink is an amazing and inspirational professor. He really makes learning chemistry fun and exciting. He is very thorough in his lectures.

Study the practice exams, they're very similar to the practice exams on blackboard. Take good notes for exams.

If your notes suck then good luck on the midterm and final. Study all your notes and the practice test in order to pass is class.

Professor Mink truly knows what he's doing, very nice and humorous. However can go very fast at times and in discussion, he will get someone else to help you so he can go on. Accessible outside of class and will help if you look for it. Straight forward on grading and no extra credit offered, but gives sample midterms, study them with your notes!!!

I took him for the summer session and his lectures go by pretty fast. Labs and homework can be pretty time consuming. Take good notes, look at the study guide and you should be fine. The class will keep you real busy even if it's the only class you're taking in the summer.

Dr. Mink is great. He explains the content thoroughly and pays special attention to the problems that everyone traditionally struggles with. He is the type of professor that wants you to pass. His tests are straightforward and not very difficult at all. Show up, do the reading, and you'll pass the course easily.

Lectures are fun and fly by. Don't fall behind and you will be in good shape. Mink loves chem and that makes it easier to learn. His examples are simple to follow. Tests look a lot like his sample exams. Take him for discussion he explains in detail the problems you def. need to know.

Dr. Mink is a great professor. He takes the time to go over what you are learning to make sure his students understand. He uploads pdf's of old midterms with a key before the midterm, and they are extremely helpful for studying. The pdf's are practically the same as the current midterm. The textbook is online so he doesn't make you buy it.

Funny guy answers questions you have. If you skip lectures you will fall behind you must attend discussions and labs are very important.

I had Professor Mink for both Chem 215 and 216 and for both he was an amazing professor. He was always willing to help outside of class and made sure I understood the material. While attendance isn't mandatory, the information in the lectures is very important so make sure to show up.

A good professor to take, and I would take again. All the homework was online through a website (sapling learning), you do have to pay for an account. Since classes are online right now he records all the zoom meetings in case you miss lecture or you just want to go back and hear them, the discussions ARE mandatory.

Overall, Dr. Mink is a very sweet person and a great teacher. There were times where he completely ignored my emails of concerns or took so long to respond back. I really don't recommend him if you are someone who relies on teachers to learn, but he is very more of a self-study kind of style. He will help you try to understand but, bad at emails!

I've given a better score for this professor for 2100, but 2200 is a bit different. The format for the class is similar to 2100. So if you didn't like 2100, you won't like him for 2200. He is a bit lazy with things but if you are self-sufficient, you will pass. (Chegg Studies is worth the price if you can afford it). Really, just study on your own.

He is a really good teacher and his lectures are really informative. Every lecture is recorded so it helps to go back. Theres 3 midterms and a final.

Easy if you study! Study guides given out for each exam that has mock tests to help studying. Records lectures to watch later on if not able to attend class in person. Would take again.

Chemistry isn't my favorite subject, however Dr. Mink made the course material easy to understand. He provides lecture recordings to refer back to, study guides that look like the exams, and has very straightforward lectures. I appreciate the overall structure of the course, put in the time to study and you will succeed.

Mink is absolutely a great lecturer, filled with passion and personality. Answers any of your question to the best of his ability. Super kind , such a great guy. Records his lectures, give previous exams examples everything is prepared. He's literally the goat of early chem, straight forward when teaching. Everything about him is great!

Chem is so intimidating but mink makes it super easy to understand if u show up and study. he prepares you for midterms and host zoom meetings and records it in case u cant show up to class. if u have the opportunity to take him, DO IT!!

He is a very good proffessor and gets in depth into his lectures so you want to make sure you attend them and take good notes. All around easy homework/tests and makes class not a drag to go through.

Very lecture heavy but Professor Mink makes the material very understandable and works through numerous examples in class. His exam questions are worded similarly to the examples he gives. Just show up and pay attention and he will make chem easy.

Professor Mink was a joy to have for my first semester freshman year. He was funny and kind, I would definitively recommend taking him. His test can be hard if you don't keep up with the class. Read your textbook! Review notes and recordings often. One thing I enjoyed about professor Mink is that he gives background stories & memes in his lectures.

Larry Mink is a great professor, he makes sure you understand the lesson by the end of class and all the example midterms and finals are very similar to the actual ones. Very important to understand the definition of some key words to understand the homework sometimes. Not required to rewatch the lectures to pass the class.

Professor Mink is lowkey cool. The grade includes discussion attendance, 3 midterms, a final, and homework. If you do the homework and go to discussions, you'll likely pass. Discussions helped me the most. He gives practice exams with similar questions. I had to retake chem and wish I had him earlier. TRUST IN MINK

Dr. Mink is really nice and provides everything you need to succeed in the class. Lectures can be boring at times, but he does make things clear & answers any questions you have. Very lenient on grading for exams. He provides past exams with keys as study guides which help A LOT!!! Graded on hw, discussion, 3 midterms and the final. Solid teacher.

Professor Mink is very understanding. He allows Zoom lectures if you can't make it to class and records them so you can review later. There are 3 tests and a final. The book is free online, and homework is due every Friday also online. Fairly easy if you do the work. He gives answer sheets to use as study guides for the Final. Highly Recommend!

Dr. Larry Mink was a great professor overall. I took him for 2100 and decided to take him for 2200 again & I am so glad I did. The class structure was very clear, and he provided a zoom option for students who are unable to come. He also provided midterm and final study guides that are very accurate to what you're going to see on the exam!

Professor Mink's lectures are understandable if you're willing to put in the work. Many may not initially like his teaching style, but I believe it was good. He records his lectures and does what he can to help his students. (I have a C, not because he can't teach, I just suck royally at chemistry and don't learn from my mistakes)
