Great guy. Responsive in office and thru email. Essentially recycles old exams. You <i>should</i> buy the book for doing homework. Must go to every lecture. Good natured humor. Recommended.

He is the best teacher i've had so far. I actually enjoy going to class. He is a great teacher, prepares you for all tests, and provides a clear understanding of the subject. He also has a pretty funny sense of humor!

Seidman is the best econ prof I've had so far. Lectures were clear and interesting, homework was graded based on whether or not you turned it in, and exams were a breeze. Just remember to study the old exams answer keys verbatim.

Treats the class like we don't know anything at times and at other times teaches like we know everything. Knows his stuff, but tests are pretty tricky. He is a cross between rick moranis and the dad from happy days.

WOW this class was awful - got a 40 on the first test and dropped it. Seems like he would be good for upper-level economics classes but AWFUL for intro. stuff. Boring lectures, boring material AVOID!

great professor. econ 100 is not the easiest class but he keeps it interesting and not impossible. do the homework assignments, its not much and it makes the lectures so much more interesting. study old tests, theyre not THAT bad... i had no interest in econ before this class and now i love it! :-)

SEIDMAN IS AMAZING!! He is very fair, explains things very clearly, and takes immense care to show both sides of every story, although it is clear what his opinions are... yay for one of the only liberals in the Econ department! Take a class with him. He is so passionate about what he teaches.

He is definitely a nice guy who puts dumb humor into class which made econ tolerable. Before all the exams, he gives you the exam from last year, even the final and most of the time, the questions are 90% the same! Hes definitely a fair grader too and always gives curves. TAKE HIS CLASS if you have to take Econ 100.

pretty straight-foward class... lectures can get a bit boring but he always seems to crack a joke... attendance is incorporated in the grade.. lots of work but helps if you're not a good test taker... last years exams help a lot when he gives them out... i'd defintely recommend this as an econ course.. i'm not a fan of econ and got an A-

Lots of great real world info in this class, but almost too much info to learn in one semester. Daily homework assignments and 3 tests(he gives out copies of previous years tests). Tests are very long, take entire class period and then some. Good teacher and interesting class, but you have to work to get an A. Good class for the math challenged.

Seidman's a really good guy. He is really helpful in office hours. In class, he really tries to get people involved, ask us questions and when we answer we always had to say our name first. One time in class he sang "Taxman" by the Beatles, HILARIOUS. Tests are hard and long though, everyone in the class didnt finish till the very end.

Seidman has the cheesiest but most hilarious humor. Any professor that can make me crack a smile in a 400-level Economics class, gets an A in my book. The tests are challenging - not the material but the time constraint. He gives out old exams to study from, which really helps. He genuinely loves what he teaches and will always help students.

SO ANNOYING. He takes incessant polls as a way of asking questions. Everyone stops answering by the second class. Tests were very long and he's very comprehensive in the questions he asks - everything is fair game. The class as a whole wasn't bad but I felt like he made it harder than it needed to be.

He is very nice and helpful and really wants to see students involved even though people rarely participate. Very good at explaining the subject. Tests are VERY long, kind of hard and cover EVERYTHING thats been discussed. Hw due every class that is easy but annoying to do. Information is boring but not terrible.

Awsome professor. Had him for 2 courses. Classes are straight forward and he prepares you very well for exams. Exams can be long but are very reasonable. Go to class he gives you an A+ for hw/attendance. HW is pass/fail if you do it you get an A. Book is pretty useful if you fall behind or get lost. One of best Econ professors in the department!

Seidman loves two things; his opinions and hearing people say his name. Infact, he himself will even talk in the third person just to hear his name said. Classes are useless but mandatory. Exams are the practice tests. Memorize them. Not a hard class but you wont get anything out of it.

preaches his opinions but warns us they're his opinions. Thinks he's a big hotshot economist but really isn't (though he did appear on C-Span once). Gives old exams, so practice those and anticipate the same question the other way (something increases instead of decreases) homework can get obnoxious but it helps. nothing too difficult.

Thought I would hate this class but absolutely loved it. Not the most interesting material, but Seidman knew his stuff so well, he made it interesting. Basically said everything that would be on the test and was a very fair grader.

Say what you want about Seidman but the man is truly gifted in the field of economics. Approachable, fair, and understanding. A very clear lecturer. Go to his office hours and pick his brain, hes got some great theories. Overall the class isnt bad. 3 Exams, Final, and HWs. Pay attention in class and study the old exams = A. Learned a LOT.

Definitely take him. Study last year's test and the homeworks and you'll be fine. He's a nice guy and his tests are fair. You have to sign in every class because attendance counts, but class is pretty much pointless. The good thing is he won't call on someone who doesn't raise their hand and you can do the homeworks during class.

Seidman is very intelligent, but also a bit of a know it all. If you pay attention, you will learn a TON about macroeconomics. Homework forces you to learn the material, but really do it. Most studying should be done by looking at and practicing with old exams, but you want to have done the reading so you have the background knowledge.

Seidman is a decent economist but a pretty bummy teacher. Class drolls on and you don't actually learn anything about economics. If test questions aren't answered the way his theory anticipates they'd be answered then your answer is wrong.

Seidman is probably one of the best professors I've had as an Econ major, despite the fact he's pretty liberal. The homeworks definitely help as do office hours. He actually cares about his students, can't say that about many others. He gives you old exams too. He actually sang "The Taxman" once in class, kind of funny.

Easily the best Econ teacher I have had at UD. He makes funny jokes throughout class and enjoys teaching. His tests are very similar to the practice tests, he does pass an attendence sheet around so you should go to class. there are homework assignments every class, but are very simple and checked for completeness. overall great guy!

Seidman is the man. Really knows his stuff and had a passion for it. Wrote the textbook and only charges $30 for it. Gotta respect his quirkiness. Takes attendance and has homework due every class but it really helps for the tests which are mostly short answer. You will know what to expect though. Highly recommend

I took this class for an upper level breadth requirement. Be prepared to read 60-80 page articles and write a 2 page paper for every class. A lot of memorization and very close reading of dull material. He tries to be funny and he's a nice guy but the class isn't all that great unless you're really into the subject matter.

Seidman is great. Nice guy. Really knows his stuff. But lectures are so boring! I almost fell asleep at 9 am everytime. My fondest memory is when he sang the class the Beatles song, "Taxman". May have been one of the greatest moments of my undergrad career. Use the old test as a guide, do the homework and you're good. Test are just really long.

Seidman is a very passionate professor who cares about his students' success. There is a HW assignment due before each class but it truly reinforces the topics and prepares you for exams. He provides his last semester exams with his answers to the questions and your exams will be nearly identical to the last semester's. Great econ elective!!!

Fairly easy class for a 400 level b/c he cares about his students, what they learn, what grade they get. 3 packets of articles, $60 each which sucks b/c you don't really need them as long as you know someone in class who has them. HW every class that is just summaries he checks for completion, 3 exams that are all memorization. Very relevant class

Everything we learn in this class is his opinion so it makes taking tests memorizing what he says rather than learning anything. He assigns readings and a 2 page paper for every class but if you fill 2 pages your good. Easy class but just awful lectures.

Class is mandatory, but you won't learn anything, the exams are very close to the practice tests, and can be passed by pure memorization. If class was not mandatory I would not have gone since we were lectured at for over an hour twice a week for a full semester mostly about his theories and ideas. It's easy to get a good grade, but it's tedious.

Every class you will have a two page homework assignment which isn't that bad really just tedious. Two exams and a final but he gives you the exams from the semester before and a lot of the information can be memorized. Show up, just sit there and you can get a decent grade with not too much effort.

Professor Seidman is one of my favorite econ professors. The class had a lot of reading and 2-page summaries due each class, but you get used to it and it ends up not being too bad. He always gives past exams to study from and copies 80% of them on his new exams, so as long as you study the past ones, you'll be fine!

Professor Seidman's honors section of ECON435 was a really manageable honors capstone. There was a lot of reading and summaries of the readings for every class, but the only honors addition was a 5-page research paper on a topic you choose. He gives feedback on the paper and boosts your grade for taking his suggestions. Exams are easy!

Your grade is based on 3 exams, attendance, and daily homework assignments which are two pages summarizing the reading due every class. The tests are 3 pages of fill in the blank words - complete memorization. Pretty easy for a 400 level Econ class. The lectures are boring and unnecessary but go for the attendance credit since it counts.
