Dr. Taylor is an awesome teacher! He makes everything crystal clear and wants his students to succeed. I would recommend him to anyone who is clueless with chemistry. He is also a very nice guy, so attending class is fun. TAKE HIM!

This class is really hard because of the material, but Larry makes is easy to understand. He loves chemiostry and is shows!If you have to take 090 as a prereq try really hard to get him because he puts absolutely everything you need to get an "A" on his BlackBoard site. He makes sure anyone succeeds and he always answers your questions. He's great!

Enthusiastic about chemistry. Very intelligent guy. Very helpful during labs. I found his lecture boring and somewhat tedious. Lecture isn't mandatory though - and all of the powerpoints are online! The class is really easy at the beginning, but it gets much more difficult towards the end. I would definitely recommend him! A good professor.

Larry is a very great teacher. He makes a very difficult subject very easy to understand. He will go above and beyond to help you with anything that you have trouble with.

Larry LOVES his subject, and is an interesting person. He goes off-topic for long stretches occasionally, but is very good at giving detailed explanations if you ask for them. Patient and humorous, he is organized, on time or early, and will stay late if need be. I aced both of my following CEM classes due in part to the strong foundation he built.

I've had better, I've had worse as far as teachers go. I didn't attend the last half of the lectures, just taught myself off his PowerPoints. He goes off topic in lecture for long stretches. Laid back in labs. PPs cover everything you'll learn on tests and he will explain things in detail if you need. OK for beginning chem students.

My favorite class yet... The course is structured so if you do the work you get an A. Whoever said all you have to do is study the PP presentations is nuts, the lecture information is both interesting and very informative. And it doesn't hurt that he is extreemly attractive!! I would take another cem class if he was teaching it! Larry is great!

Great teacher. Don't buy the book. Very laid back on lab gradings, tests came directly off of blackboard quiz. He is extremely humble and treats you as his equal. Intelligent man. Best teacher for the subject. I took him for the summer class and surprised myself w/ an A. I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone taking chem.

Took summer CEM 105. The semester went alright until someone ticked him off and from that point on he hated the whole class(which he told us daily.)Seriously unprofessional.Listened to hours of rants and raves about how all of us were going to suck in our future endeavors.Tests took 2-3 hrs +. 9 pgs each!Not hot unless you like old men w/potbellies

Larry is THE best!Amazing personality combined with nice sense of humor. How to get an "A"? Attend his lectures, take the online quiz until you achieve 3 or more hundreds before taking the tests.Do the labs carefully(Write labs notes before coming to the lab). And before you know it, you have an A.Textbook not required, but you can legally buy it.

Clearly Larry has a lot of passion for his subject. By far the best instructor I think I have ever had. He can be indimidating but if you suck it up and ask the questions he is more then happy to explain. Class is very strait forward, show up for lecture, pay attention and do the labs and practice quizzes. I wWish he taught higher level classes too

He is a genius! He is also reasonable, humble, funny and interesting. Just don't do anything stupid to make him mad like chewing gum during lab or using your phone in class. Even if you don't need to take Chemistry take one of his classes anyways.

Larry is a fantastic teacher, and extremely helpful! My one complaint was that there could have been a lot more teacher/student interaction during lecture to keep us more engaged, and I would have liked a lot more homework/review resources - the practice quizzes helped to get good grades, but didn't really help me retain or understand the material.

Larry is one of the best instructors I've ever had. Just follow the rules (especially in lab) and everything will be fine. If you don't understand something, ask. He will explain it any way that you need it explained.

He was awesome! Very caring and understanding. Just show up to class, do the Blackboard practice tests, and take notes and you'll do fine. Ask him lots of questions, he really likes students who ask lots. He also likes hard workers. try your very best and he will be happy:)

Larry is a great teacher and his class is very easy to get an A in, if you follow a few simple concepts. Pay attention in lectures and do tons of practice quizzes. The only reason I didn't give him a full 5 is that his teaching style didn't work for me. His lectures are very long and has a tendency to skip around to irrelevant stuff.

Larry is brilliant, funny, an amazing instructor. Just follow these simple rules: 1) DO NOT EVER LET HIM SEE OR HEAR YOUR CELL PHONE. EVER. 2) Do LOTS of practice quizzes. 3) "Let the units drive the solutions" and 4) PAY ATTENTION TO "SIG FIGS". You'll do just fine :) DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!!!

Larry is a fantastic person and teacher. He is incredibly knowledgeable, but completely down to earth. He gives you everything you need to pass this class with an A+. He also teaches his own labs-which are very fun. You don't need the book if you take his class. His slides are incredible! He has obviously has put hundreds of hours into this class!

I LOVED him. He is weirdly dorky and funny. Kept me giggling but also very sweet and helpful. I am really bad at chem, but he made it manageable. I got an A. Don't get on your phone lol and he loves to rant but its entertaining. Full of fun facts. Sweet man. One of my favs at the school.

He is the most organized and conscientious instructor I have ever known. He hands out a flash drive to each student, and you can find everything in there well organized, high-lightened in different colors, available in various print versions. I learned the assiduous attitude to study and the scientific way of thinking and solving problems from him.

Larry is an amazing Chemistry instructor ever. he is so helpful. Do the practice quizzes, show up in class( attend his lectures) and get an A. I recommend this instructor to anyone who wants to take cem 101. you will enjoy it.

Larry is the BEST TEACHER EVER. Very kind, cares a lot about his students (and chemistry) and makes three hour lectures bearable! Cell phones are a no, but Larry is more entertaining than facebook by a long shot. if you want to learn from a super interesting guy with lots of cool stories take his class!!

And if science is not your strong suit, he is more than willing to work with you one-on-one until you understand what you need to know to get an A in the class. He was amazing and answered many questions. I loved him while I was in the class but when I went on to higher level chem classes that's when I realized how amazing he was as a teacher. He explained very well and I wish he taught higher level chem classes. Some of the higher level teachers do not explain as well or care to. He was very passionate.

Very Knowledgeable Instructor. Attendance is mandatory, but so is it when it comes to a job so doesn't make a difference. If you follow along through the lecture and take every practice test you will for sure pass. Almost every single person passes the course, so for sure to get that credit with a good grade.

Larry is a dedicated teacher who knows what he is talking about. He creates the path for an A, you just need to take the steps and put in the work. I had a great lab partner and we literally had FUN in the class. Yes, we laughed in the lab.. and Larry laughed with us. You have to love Larry and his quirks. Slides are amazing. Don't need the book. He makes the class very easy. He has put thousands of hours into his slides that he provides to you so you don't have to buy the book. Lectures are interesting. He is EXTREMELY available outside of class for help if needed, but you shouldn't need it if you attend his lectures and do the practice quizzes.

Larry is an amazing professor! I came into the class very doubtful of myself and came out with an A. He made all of the content so understandable, and he has put countless hours into making that so. He's very dedicated, as well as understanding if you come upon a hard situation. If you take Cem 101, take it with him, for sure!

THE BEST PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD. He actually cares about you. Ive had the toughest semester in my life, it ended in withdrawing from my classes. And hes there for you. He understands that there is life outside of school. But DONT take advantage of him or it will not be fun. Defiantly take him for any class he teaches. Again, an amazing teacher.

Larry is an excellent instructor. He spent countless hours putting all of the information you will need for this class on a disc so that you do not have to purchase a book. Also, he provides a practice test for each test and if you do the practice tests to 100% there is no way you will not receive an A in the class. He is very understanding too.

Larry is the best teacher i have had at washtenaw I was worried at first becuase i heard was intense, and he was to a degree but not in a bad way at all I had never taken chemistry before and that made me nervous too but i can say that larry made the class very enjoyable and i really learned ALOT!!! I would take larry for every class if i could!

Larry can be off putting at first but after you get used to his style he is a great teacher who knows just about everything there is to know about everything. He is incredibly passionate about chemistry and science in general. He really tries to make sure every student gets a solid grade and really cares about each and every person. 10/10.

I have just recently come back to college after taking a long break. Larry was the perfect teacher. He's passionate about what he's talking about and cares whether or not you understand the material. I had to take a couple breaks from the lectures to clear my head every so often since they can be long. Respect him and he'll respect you.

Larry was a great professor! Initially I did not like him. They way he condescended to students about smartphones causing cancer and his 167 IQ... just chill no one cares. Hes been great. He helps you whenever you need it, labs can be strange at first though. Come chapter 5 to the end you really need go to class and understand the formulas but he truly cares about you understanding the material and wants you to succeed. Everyone should get an A or B if you do/ understand the practice quizzes and go to the labs.

Larry is a fantastic instructor for those looking to get their foot in the door with chemistry. While his lectures seem *really* long, they are very informative and at a pace where you have the ability to understand, yet fast enough where you don't get bored. No question is a dumb question. If you respect him you will get just as much back.

Larry P Taylor is HANDS DOWN the greatest professor I've ever taken at WCC, an absolute legend to be honest. He is extremely smart when it comes to not only just chemistry but literally any topic, this guys a genius. Tests were a little tricky I'm not gonna lie, but he will ALWAYS be there for you if you have any questions. He made chem 101 simple.

When I registered for this WCC CEM 101 class with Professor Larry P. Taylor. It was amazing because after just 2 weeks I started getting intrigued and excited just to take this class every day I wish. Larry was helpful and nice to everyone especially people who are shy to ask problems. He will help you and I highly recommend you to take this class

One of the best profs out there. He really cares about you understanding, but he makes you work for your grade. Just do exactly want he says and you'll pass. He does go on tangents, but lecture is long and it gives my brain a break. He seems rough at first & he is a tad odd, but he cares. Follow instructions, be organized, and you'll be fine.

He is a great professor! His lectures are easy to follow and he gives you a lot of helpful material for studying. There are also practice quizzes available for all exams. He gives feedback and is accessible outside of class. He does not like students to fail, and genuinely cares about how all students are doing in his class.

Larry, wants you to get an A in his class, sometimes his off topic, topics get overbearing and get crazy with his beliefs. But all and all he is good professor, he has everything you need to be successful in his class! But you still got to do the work, make sure you do the practice quiz or wont hear the end of it! He grades on a curve!

He's a really intelligent guy, wish he taught GEN CHEM 1 as well. Sometimes he can go off-topic which is fine cause there's so much material. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities, and he guarantees an A and B to everyone as long as you put in the work, easy-going guy, he is interesting to speak with as well. No textbook as well.

He is eccentric but really cares. Comes off harsh at first, but will actually answer all questions in and outside of class. Very quick to respond to emails. If you try the problems in the lecture and do the practice exams 10 times as he recommends, you'll get an A for sure! I have never had a Chemistry class before,if you work hard you'll be ok!

One of the most Humble educators I have came across, he put aside his ph.d and works with what he is given. Shamed on for being a introvert, he is not a bad guy and for the ones who blame it on him, it is a chemistry class in secondary education suck it up and adapt. Use your resources at wcc and you will thrive. live and let live.

Larry is a great guy. He wants you to learn and pass his class and will help you any way he can. The only thing he asks of you is to come to class, turn assignments in correctly, take practice quizzes and ask questions. He will provide you with a website he made full of material to help you learn. This is all to help you succeed.

Writing a review for this man is like rating The Great Gatsby, either you loved it or hated it. He is a cool guy and does care a lot about his students. He is older(76)so he is very blunt but he definitely cares. He's given me an extension for assignments when I truly needed it. You can get an A as long as you use his slides and do practice quizzes

Best instructor I have had thus far. Truly amazing and very experienced. I came into the course with no chemistry experience whatsoever and ended with an A, if that's not a measure of a top notch instructor I do not know what is! Larry is blunt but its needed in this day in age. If you can get past that, you will learn a wealth of information!

Might seem a bit intimidating at first, but he's one of the best instructors I've ever had. Extremely comprehensive slideset means you don't have to pay for a textbook. He is always willing to help, even outside of his office hours (emails back usually within hours). If you're willing to put in the work he will help you get an A. 10/10 would take!

Larry is an amazing teacher! He does go off topic a bit but he is always more than happy to answer questions. He is an easy grader and will typically take off 0.25 per question, unlike other instructors who would take off a whole point. As long as you do practice quizzes and memorize what needs to be memorized, this class is an A.

overall he was a friendly and caring guy and hes super willing to help you understand material. he wants you to get an A, and he has a TON of resources available. he ruffled some students feathers and they responded poorly to him, then HE responded poorly to them. if you have anxiety, his tangent topics can be a bit triggering. overall a good guy

Great man overall, Genuinely cares about his students and gives second chances on late work. Kind man who helps you during your labs and is very nice.
