Dr.Morosi is a blast! Tells hilarious stories and makes rehearsal seem much shorter than it really is. Also tells funny stories, has a great accent, and picks fun music! If you placy an instrument, I recommend trying out for this class.
"Uncle" Marosi's stories are the best. He is an excellent Hungarian conductor, very knowledgable about every aspect of music, a super pianist, very patient with students. Orchestra is hard work of a great kind.
i've played with many different conductors, but Dr. Marosi is the funniest and the nicest conductor i've ever seen. is the orchestra boring? NOOO!!! is it interesting and fun? YESSSS!!! and what's important too is that he WORKS on quality:)
Dr. Marosi is amazing. He uses everything they're teaching us, from theory, history, critical thinking and probing, etc, and it's still so fun while we're learning a LOT! Great conductor and a wonderful, helpful, energetic person. Highly recomended!

Dr. Marosi is the most pleasant conductor I've ever played for. He as an amazing attitude, so much knowledge, and an incredible sense of humor. When you mention this man to others in the field, they all gush about him. He just happens to be world famous but he also is incredibly grounded.
Dr. Marosi is the best professor in the entire music department. He is energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing, funny, and incredibly talented. He makes every moment a learning experience and a ton of fun. Absolutely the best conductor I've ever had!
Everyone has pretty much nailed down how he is, but i believe most left out he is extremely inspiring.
Very good conductor. Knows how to get the most out of the students when we play.

LOVE HIM!! Awesome conductor with the best stories, he always brings in guest soloists from places like Argentina, Brazil and Kazakhstan (no, not Borat!)
Symphony orchestra- best two days of my week. marosi is the sexiest hungarian musician this side of the world.
MY GOSH!
Sure he's funny and tells great stories, but I feel there is much to be desired. Because he is so easy going, no one respects him, and therefore not many people practice. We would sound much better if he were a bit more aggressive, causing people to actually try harder. The chair challenges are also fake, and don't count for anything.-Disappointed-
so much to be learned from this incredibly talented musician. a shame that the orchestra treats him with such disrespect - the texting, etc. prevent them from absorbing all he has to offer. i live for those rehearsals and take the opportunity to listen, learn, and try to prepare for professional life. with his guidance and support success will come
Easily the most qualified music professor at UCF. He goes above an beyond to give students opportunities to succeed, and will give up hours of his own time every week to have sectionals outside of class. His door is always open and he has so much real world experience. If you take his class or not, visit his office! you will learn so much.
The best music professor at UCF. He is overqualified for the job and he brings light into the world of music and performance. Magnificent in every way a professor can be he is.
AWESOME
The only downside I see with Marosi is his accent, which some may find rough to understand. Aside from that, he is a sweetheart, and his musical prowess is outstanding. Very passionate to musical history and very understanding to what the students might need (whether it'd be extra credit or an extra day to review composers, etc.)
Mr Marosi is a easy teacher if you are trying to get a GEP out of the way. 3 tests and gives 4 essays that are for 15 pts of extra credit each. Final is not cumulative, no need for class. Look out for his gold neck chain he looks fresh off the golf course every day.
Dr. Marosi has a strong accent, but he is nonetheless a great teacher. He is always very happy and clearly passionate about what he teaches. He has great style and always looks fresh while teaching. Take him!
I am currently taking his Enjoyment of Music class. By mistake i had missed the first day of class but he gracefully decided to meet up with me in order to catch me up. Very sweet professor, very knowledgeable and really tries to have the students understand him as best he can. AWESOME PROFESSOR!
If you do not get an A on the exams, go to his office hours! He will go over what you did wrong, make sure you understand it then bump up your grade to an A! Dr. Marosi is a beautiful person. It's okay to skip occasionally has long as you read the book once and go to the review day for the test. The class is naturally easy because it's fun
His accent is a bit hard to understand sometimes, but he is a great guy, is passionate about what he teaches, and will help you pass the class. Need to read the textbook.
Dr. Marosi has such a great teaching style. He likes to use positive reinforcement and is always there for you if you go to his office hours. Not many teachers like him nowadays. Great conductor and helped me a lot. He is very patient as long as you do the work. I have so much respect for him, he is very knowledgeable.
He was a great professor! Didn't do too well on the exams, however the extra credit brought most of mine up to an A! His accents difficult to understand at times but he will repeat or spell if you ask. Take him! Easy gen ed class
One of the best teachers. Gives 110% when it comes to the class. Respected by all and one of a kind. I look forward to taking future classes with him.
TAKE THIS CLASS! He is so nice and gives so much extra credit. Although the test are kind of challenging, you can get an A in the class if you try!!!
Dr. Marosi is the best! I can honestly that taking his class has brought a change to the way I listen to music, and I am very grateful! His lectures are very entertaining and the passion he feels for the musical pieces shared in class is infectious. I would highly reccomend this class to anyone interested by music and sound.
Dr. Marosi is a very good teacher and covers a lot of material in his lectures. If you aren't there to hear them chances are you won't do as well on the test. 1/2 of the test is listening questions and the other 1/2 is about the era of music talked about. There are extra credit assignments for each test that are also optional. He also is very funny
Easy class, as long as you read the book frequently. Tests are difficult, sometimes 13 chapters per test. Listen to the musical excerpts!! That's half the tests. If you can't ID the musical excerpts/composers, you will not pass. STUDY and read the textbook. His lectures are pretty easy, take notes. Overall great prof!
Only took this class as a GenEd requirement, but still hoped I would get something out of it. While you can tell Mr. Marosi is extremely passionate about the subject, the lectures are dry and uninteresting. However, he gives a ton of extra credit. If you do the extra hw and really study for exams (I never went to class), you can get an easy A.
Dr. Marosi knows his subject very well! I love his accent and his stories so I love his class. I suggest anyone to take it. After taking his class, you will listen to music different way
Wonderful professor! I took this class without a music background and loved it. The material is interesting, and he is very animated and passionate about music. I would take a class again with him if I could.
I'm an engineering major and he made me love music! He's beyond passionate, he's funny, and he really cares about your education. While the material can be dry at times, simply being exposed to his passion is a joy. The tests are multiple choice and you can get away with minimal studying thanks to extra-credit papers and online homework.
I am not even a music major but I have never met a more passionate and chill professor. He truly cares about what he teaches, the class is super easy as long as you take your notes in class and study. Just go into the class with an open mind and listen. He gives out extra credit and there is barely any homework. Easy A, I recommend it!
One of the nicest professors you can ever speak with. I once realized an issue with the grading system and he took the time to meet with me and get it resolved which helped many others. He gave extra credit assignments which were very simple if you literally fulfill the requirements. Tests aren't the easiest if you don't study so put some work in.
Professor Marosi is a phenomenal man and teacher. He's so passionate about music and cares so much about his students. The class was kinda hard, you have to pay attention and study, but he's clear about what's on each exam. The exams each count for 20% of the class so be prepared. Overall I would highly recommend him and would take him again
IF YOU DONT DO THE EXTRA CREDIT YOU WILL NOT PASS. Moving on, this class is an easy A if you do all the extra credit. The exams however are harder than you think and if you want to do well on them you will need to read. To give you an idea, I got a 70% on three exams and an a 58% on another, hence i would of failed. But i did EC ended with a B.
I would imagine that for someone with even a minimal background in music this class wouldn't be too unconventional, but speaking as someone with no background it wasn't very easy. Extra credit saved my grade, the lab component is a must if you want to get an A and do only ok on tests. Dr. Marosi is very kind and gives interesting lectures.
Some exams had questions on info neither in the textbook nor discussed in class. Sometimes hard to understand Hungarian accent, but truly passionate about music and wants his students to love music as much as he. So much extra credit I got over a 100% for a final grade. Grades are only extra credit and exams. Lectures based off textbook.
While, I still do not enjoy music any more than I did before his class, he was such a sweet and funny professor. His lectures were always sure to either brighten your day or make it somewhat better. His class was really easy telling by how I skipped his class for two months and was able to get an A.
Very, very easy class, I didn't show up for most of the year I think only for tests, only read the book and listened to the songs and got a 100+
Extra credit is somewhere from 15 to 20 percent of your grade, do the essays (they're graded easy) and get an A. His lectures aren't necessary, just read the book. Well, skim the book.
So much extra credit in this class, I never show up, don't study and have over a 100%. Professor is a nice guy and cares a lot about his students. Great class and professor to satisfy a GED.
Dr. Marosi has been my favorite professor in my short college career so far. Even though my area of study is nowhere near music enjoyment, his passion and knowledge of the subject is inspiring. The tests really aren't that easy, but if you do the extra credit he assigns you'll get an A no problem. Definitely recommend if you need the GEN ED credit.
Professor Marosi is hands down the MOST passionate teacher I have had at UCF. His lectures are fascinating and knows everything there is to know about music. Class is not mandatory, but I recommend it. Buying the book is a must. He gives extra credit for homework. His tests are fairly easy if you attend lectures. Pretty easy A
Easiest A I ever got. The tests are hard, but there is a LOOOOT of extra credit. Maybe about 40% of my grade was extra credit. Also, the professor is really nice and passionate about the class. Almost no one attended classes, but I did because I really enjoyed the lectures. Definitely take this professor if you can
Dr. Marosi is very passionate about what he does and it shows. Class grade is made up of entirely Test grades and extra credit. Tests are really easy if you read the textbook and listen to the music outside the class, as most of the test content is from textbook. Lots of E.C. opportunities to boost grade if need.
Amazing professor. You can tell how much he loves music and it makes the class that much more interesting. Get the online textbook, you will use it. The exams are easy if you know the songs and read the chapters, take notes!! He does give a lot of extra credit with the quizzes he gives online before the exam. Do them, they help so much.
Dr. Marosi is an amazing and inspirational professor in lecture. He is even more inspirational at office hours. Exams require students to identify music composers, song titles, genre, and form. Exams also test various definitions and trivia from the textbook. I was exposed to so many new types of music, and I've fallen in love with symphony music.
His tests do not reflect what is truly remembered about Music History, but they rely on dumb, specific questions that nobody needs or will remember after taking this course. I have taken music classes consistently in school since elementary school and I have trouble on these tests. The questions do not in any way enhance my "Enjoyment of Music."
Wonderful professor! Funny, interesting, and teaches well.
He is a great professor. He gives tons of extra credit so even if you do poorly on exams, you'll get an A.
Exams is pretty difficult, but it its definitely possible to get an easy A if you do the extra credit. Total of 15% of your final grade. He gives the first after the second exam. Even though attendance is not mandatory, he gives points out a lot of stuff not covered in the textbook that will be on the exam. Take notes, and study smart for this one
sooo... i only go to class when there are exams. He offers two 15 point extra credit essays, that will literally SAVE your grade. I did average on the exams, and before the extra credit I had a B, now i'm at a 108... safe to say I will not be stressing over the final too much :) Take his class!! Easy A!
Absolutely a wonderful professor
Attended every lecture, studied and did extra credit, and barely got an "A" which starts at a 93. Never really knew what to expect on exams and the class is weighed only by those, with a little help from the extra credit. For a class meant for non-music majors it actually is a difficult class, it's not an easy A, especially if you don't study.
Hes the cutest most amazing professor he super nice and the class is easy. He gives so much extra credit that i ended with 103%. you don't have to come to all the lectures and hes super accessible outside of class. If you take him you will For sure get an A. JUST DO IT
Professor Marosi is the best and most adorable professor there is. He is so passionate about his job and music. Tests can be a bit challenging but he gives an extra 25% extra credit which makes it impossible to get a bad grade. I would definitely take him again.
He is an excellent professor. I had a good performance in the class by reading the book and learning the songs. Beware, his tests are quite hard. The aspect that I liked the most about his class if that he gives tons of extra credit.
The class was a lot more difficult than I expected. I didn't do so great in the class but that was my fault. In fact, I would have done a lot worse if it weren't for Marosi. He allowed me to make up a test with no valid proof as to why I missed it, and he has extra credit opportunities. I love listening to him teach, he really knows his stuff.
very very easy class because there is no homework and you don't have to show up to class. the only 4 grades are exams, which honestly are kind of challenging if you don't study and read the book, but he gives 2 extra credit assignments that literally brought my grade up by 2 letter grades so definitely do them! very caring and wants you to succeed
Only 4 tests, extra credit essays are offered. He does reviews before every test. Absolutely an amazing professor, would take any of his classes again if I need too. Don't underestimate the test, however, studying is definitely needed to pass.
Professor Marosi is a good professor, but his thick Hungarian accent makes it sometimes difficult to understand him. You don't need to show up for anything but the 4 tests and their reviews. His class is an easy A if you study for the tests and do the extra credit assignments. Each test covers a LOT of chapters so start studying early on.
He is a wonderful professor!!! One of my favorite classes, he truly loves music, and wants his students to love music as well. Make sure you read the chapters at least once, all he does in class is go over them. He gives 4 in person tests, but there are at least 2 if not 3 optional extra credit papers towards the end of the semester.
He is a solid teacher. Tests can be very challenging, but if you prepare you will do fine. I suggest studying at least a week in advance. He also gives several extra credit opportunities which greatly improved my grade.
Prof. Marosi is a wonderful personality. He teaches music in a manner that's easy to understand for anyone who's never been involved with music before. He is very sweet, funny, and answers any and all questions. Attendance is completely optional but I found myself going to class just to enjoy it! Grading is based on 4 tests. Extra credit papers.
Dr. Marosi is a great professor, he has a slight Hungarian accent but I don't think it's bad enough to not understand what he is saying. The main grade for this course is just the four tests and some extra credits. You have to score a decent score on the test like a "C" or "B" and with the extra credit, it should get you to an A in the class.
Because I wasn't really interested in the material I couldn't understand a thing from the lecture. However you could pass if you study at least the important things (listen to the music and memorize the composer), and do the extra credit he offers. YOU WILL NEED IT.
Took this class for the GEP requirement and really enjoyed it. Showing up to lectures helps you in the class, but a lot of testing material is based off of the text book and textbook activities
the professor was really cool, super excited to teach other people. you do need the textbook but honestly you do not have to show up at all you can just read the textbook and not show up and be fine. only 4 tests the whole semester however you have around 2 chances for extra credit papers to boost your grade a lotttttt
The professor is very passionate about the subject and he makes it enjoyable. Highly recommend to satisfy gen eds. Not a difficult class but you must pay attention and take notes to get an A on the tests. He does provide generous extra credit but you can't rely on it.
Awesome class.
Marosi gives amazing lectures although mostly reading off the textbook. You can read the textbook without going to class and pass, but I recommend attending class. The tests are a bit hard to study for and some of the material you wouldn't think to be tested on shows up on them. You do have the opportunity for LOTS of extra credit - you should pass
Dr. Marosi was a nice and lovely professor! He loves music and hopes his students love it as well. Only 4 tests made up the grade in his class. But he gave many extra credits. If you had B or C in the tests and did every extra credit, you'll get A overall.
Really cares for the class and it shows in his lectures. Do the extra credit assignments, and expect to do 30 mins or so on memorizing and listening to pieces and composers etc, and youll be fine! Fairly easy B+ or A.
Good professor. Don't have to attend class I would just recommend attending the review test day to get all the information and knowing the music. Extra credit is useful and brought me 3 letters higher
I loved this class! Dr. Marosi knows what he's talking about and tries his best to make lectures interesting. I enjoyed his class and as long as you read the textbook OR show up to class and listen to the lectures, you'll do well. He also gives two extra credit essays which bring your grades up A LOT so it's an easy A.
Professor Marosi is so sweet and energetic and you can tell he really enjoys teaching music. You don't need to show up to class every day, just go to his test reviews. He gives super generous extra credit, so it's hard to fail his class. You can pass without getting the textbook, but it is useful to have around, especially if you don't go to class.
Papa Laszlo? We stan. The single most passionate person teaching at UCF, you could hate all things music but he'll 100% turn you into a music addict by the time you're finished with this gem of a class. Amazing in every way, wish it was a requirement for teachers everywhere to be this in love with their field of study.
Dr. Marosi is a truly passionate professor. He loves what he does and it reflects in the quality of his teaching. If you actually pay attention in class or just take notes on the textbook the class is pretty easy and I would highly recommend him. He is also generous with extra credit.
Wonderfool Prof
One of the most wholehearted and amazing professors I've ever had. This man is so dedicated and enthusiastic about his job and makes you love the content even if you think you don't. So funny and caring and would 10/10 recommend.
To this day Dr. Marosi will always be a professor that had a profound impact on my life and understanding of higher education. His methods of teaching are second to none. He is passionate, patient, and persistent with his students. He cares about your success, but also developing your intellect. His love for the field/teaching is undoubtable.
