Mrs. Howell is one of the best professors. She uses very elaborate examples which help out!! She is very nice but do not play on the computers while she is teaching. She gets mad.

She was very helpful. She gets off topic a lot, but her stories are entertaining and she always finds a way to tie them back in. She is usually very upbeat and she is nice to everyone. Her class was pretty easy as long as you can write essays.

Mrs. Howell was very helpful in class; she used personal examples to make her points very clear! She is an instructor that students try very hard to get into her classes. I tried to take her for ENG 112, but her class filled up in about three minutes. I will miss her so much. I am a guy who hated ENG before I took her class.

Mrs. Howell is a wonderful professor. She always comes into class with a huge smile and a warm greeting. Her classes are not necessarily easy; it depends on your motivation to learn and do the homework, which is always included on the syllabus. She spaces out the due dates on all the research materials so it's easier to keep up with them, but don't fall behind! Overall, she's a great professor and I've recommended her to several others!

Mrs. Howell is an AWESOME EN 112 instructor. She really loves what she does and tries her best to make the class fun. You will write 5 essays and 1 research paper but she breaks it up into parts making it super easy to make an A. She really cares about her students and will do anything to help you. She is very funny and personable. Overall, great!

Mrs. Howell is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. She's also a great teacher. She's pretty straight forward about what she expects from her students and gives you advance notice of any assignments due. It is up to you to do them on time. I love hearing what she has to say about my writing because she is polite but honest. TAKE HER!

Easy class, just show up and take notes. Clear lectures with notes that are always on the test.

She is extremely well spoken and often draws from personal experience to make her points clear; however, this means that class lasts the FULL time allotted. She's extremely helpful and creates a very comfortable vibe in her classes. Plus, you will rarely have unexpected assignments because she sets out all due dates far in advance.

Papers about every 3 weeks, amazing teacher. She is kind and understanding, very motherly and genuine. 4/5 star teacher. Her grading is strange. Doesn't really go into what you need to fix on your papers. I WOULD take her again. Class act lady, (pardon the pun).

Mrs. Howell is an amazing teacher. She graded fairly and offered great feedback on all papers. She lets you choose what you want to write about which makes the papers super easy to write. She genuinely cares about each of her students and only wants to see them succeed. We only had about 4 reading quizzes the entire semester.

Ms. Howell makes literature accessible and relevant and fun. You will look forward to her classes. Take good notes from board and memorize them for the tests. Do all the reading and participate in the class because that helps you learn. Everyone can do well and enjoy the course.

Mrs. Howell is the best teacher i have ever had! We wrote 6 papers total, all of which we could choose our own topics. Used Back to the Lake, few readings & very few "pop quizzes" that she would tell us about the class before. Quizzes were typically 5 questions. Such a sweet & caring lady, really understanding as well. Taking her for 112.

Truly the greatest professor I've ever had. She is extremely passionate and comes to class with the most refreshing energy every single day. Her classes are not a walk in the park, but with a little work, you can pass with flying colors. Plus, she will do anything in her power to help when you have issues.

She is very nice and loves to get to know her students. Her tests are pretty hard and you do need to know the material. She will ask you to explain quotes from the book and there are 10 reading responses throughout the semester that you can choose. Write down the things on the board and listen it could be an easy A. If you don't possibly B or C.

If you get the chance, take Mrs. Howell! She's super passionate about teaching and helping her students, she also makes the research paper a breeze to do. However, when she gives you something to read for the next class, read it! There will be a quiz on it most likely!

Mrs. Howell is awesome, and she really knows her stuff. I took the Honors versions of 231 and 232 with her, and it was a good experience overall. However, I came away with 2 B's, she is very demanding as a teacher. If you like literature/english, I highly recommend her, but if you're wanting an easy A, this is not the place.

Mrs. Howell is a great teacher. She's very caring and she wants to help you succeed in your writing. Her class is not an easy A. You have to work for that A. You will read a lot but the readings are there to help you understand the writing. You will have quizzes, but she will warn you about the quiz coming up. The quizzes are easy IF YOU READ!

Highly recommend. I took this class in a hybrid format but she did her best to include all students during each class time, online or in-class. If you don't know what you're doing, just ask her questions. She'll help any way she can. Super friendly too!

I cannot say enough good things about Mrs. Howell. I took both composition classes with her, and I am about to start my second literature class with her. She is very passionate and available whenever you need her.

I loved Dr. Howell. She truly wants you to do well in her class. We had to write 10 one page papers in addition to three tests. You must read the text before the exam to do well. She reviews before the exam and even tells you which quotes and essay questions you will see. If you listen, shell answer all the questions that will be on the exam.

However, it can be difficult to listen to her lectures sometimes, because she jumps around, gets off on tangents, and that can make it hard for some people to learn. However, overall she is an excellent teacher.

Ms. Howell is a good professor who cares. She enjoys participation. She got very upset about the book we read and was not very open to other ideas you had. Other than that, the class was a lot of reading and writing. There were a few papers, a few quizzes, and some outside assignments. Her lectures were very good and consistent.

In the 1st part of the semester, she was a little harsh on grading but she kinda got easier as the semester went by. We only had to write 10 essays for the semester. She gave us a chance every week to write an essay on the story we would cover. Exams did not seem hard as long as you knew the stories it covered.

Mrs. Howell is a great person and professor. With it being an honors class, she still urged us to learn and made sure we did. Only 4 papers, one as the final. Offered small assignments that could boost you a letter grade. She wants to help and wants to get to know you so be involved! Would recommend her to anyone and will take her again.

I took Mrs. Howell for a winter class and she was great. She gave minimal assignments and was very good at giving good feedback. I would take her again if I had a option.

Howell was literally awesome! I missed class like 5 times and was still able to keep up with the material. She really values those that show up and participate in class. She is a pretty simple grader and gives you opportunies to fix your mistakes. Easy assignments, you only need to do 10 of them but you'll get 15 different ones to choose from

She is an amazing English teacher; she will always check up on you and make sure you are doing okay ,and you can always talk out loud without feeling like she's judging you. She loves her children and she's overall an amazing teacher!

I took the class during the winter session. She is a great teacher who will give good feedback on the essays. The only thing to complain about is that the final was 50% of our grade. We had 4 papers and 4 discussions that made up the other 50%.

I loved having Mrs. Howell as my professor. Her class was fairly easy and she always made sure to remind us of when assignments were do. She is very understanding and tells great stories during lecture. You can tell that she loves to teach and really cares for her students. If you have the option to take one of her classes, do it!

I could not recommend her more. I had her my freshman and sophomore year and she still says hello to me and remembers my name everytime she sees me. I am currently a senior and saw her in Wal-Mart the other day and she stopped and spoke to more for about 15 minutes. She's truly the sweetest!
