She's pretty good. I mean biology has never been the easiest for me. But she makes it easy because she posts all the notes on noodle with blanks in them and you just show up to class and fill them in a she goes over the notes. It's biology, so i recommend studying well in advance. But if you know the notes then you should be fine

Latoya has 5 kids and 1 on the way, needless to say her grades take forever to get back. Her tests are extremely hard. Couldn't make above a 72 on any of them, but she does do lots of other grades to pull up bad test grades. You have to do the group work to pass. Overall, not a great teacher, and I had to work hard for a C.

Overall, she wasn't that great of a professor. She know's what she's talking about, but isn't so great at teaching it. Class is pretty much just sitting through lecture everyday and filling in blanks to her notes, 4 group assignments, and class participation grades. The tests are hard and she gives NO extra credit. A quiz every week online too. Ugh

She was all right. Biology isn't my best subject but all you had to do was fill in the blanks on the PowerPoint. There are a good bit of group discussions but that's a good thing. Her discussions count about as much as an exam so it balances the grade. She doesn't speak very loudly. She's kind of funny.

All she really does is read from the powerpoint that she posts on moodle. Only reason to come is to fill in the blanks that she leaves on them. You can tell she knows what she's talking about, but she's just not good at relaying it. It's also A LOT of information so she can't really explain everything, or anything really, in detail .

only frustrating thing is that the she decided three weeks into class that the exams would go from open-book, online, to in-person, not open-book. She also never responds to emails. I've sent three since the start of the semester and she hasn't responded to any of them, even though she says in her syllabus that she responds to them within 24 hr.

Unclear grading criteria, though the points system is outlined in the syllabus, she doesn't go over them ever and certainly does not enter grades correctly. Doesn't respond to emails. Switched from having online exams to in person ones. Unfairly grades participation assignments and does not put in HW grades until the week of finals.

Latoya is an absolute menance. Not sure where she gets testing material from. Her online lectures for this flipped class are from 2020. I have never in my life witnessed so many emergencies too urgent to find the time to send an email. I will be a better person due to the fear that I will karmically be reincarnated as another one of her students.

Whatever you do, don't take this professor. Use all of your power to not take her. She has no clue what she's talking about. Her lectures are from 4+ years ago and class is just her reading over old notes and giving us participation questions. She genuinely looks/acts like she hates her job. She will cancel class 5 mins. after the starting time.

You'll be able to pass, but save yourself the trouble. She has no clue what she's teaching and truly does not care about you. She took two weeks to answer my email. Her tests are not what she "taught" but are worth only 10%. She canceled probably over half of our classes. She's very condescending and expects respect when she does not return it.

What ever you do, do not take Latoya paul. She will cancel class ten minutes after it starts. Keep in mind ours was at 7:30. She doesn't show up or teach. She is rude and makes it clear that she doesn't like you. Overall Latoya Paul is not only the worst professor I've ever had but just the worst teacher in general. I learned more in kindergarten.

Very strict on due dates. Doesn't answer emails. At the beginning of the semester, she told us all tests were online then changed it right before the first test because people didn't attend class. Attendance wasn't mandatory and it was at 7:30. She teaches a flipped class. I would not take it again.

Umm idk this class was easy so take it but you don't learn much! I don't think she actually took attendance but instead lied to scare us into coming to class (take this with a grain of salt) she made use do problems and turn them in the next class but I don't think she actually did anything with it.

I don't know why she's getting so many negative reviews on here but I'm assuming these people don't study. Although her tests are not a breeze, I wasn't expecting it to be so I was always on top of my studying. I think she's the only teacher on campus who actually teaches than preaches. - Not heavy on notes - homework deadlines are convenient.

If you value everything you hold dear to you in this life, do not take this class. The homework? Fine. The tests? Eh? But the simple fact that she will stay up until 3AM just to send an email that her 7AM class is cancelled is enough reason to just not. Her lectures are boring at times, but others are actually interesting and okay enough.

she receives a-lot of negative reviews, but I believe they are probably from the individuals who don't attend class or put in the effort to study. Dr. Paul has made this class very manageable for both engineering and pre-med majors, making it an easy A for your transcript if you put in the work. "Very Easy A" just do the homework, and study.

You'll have to show up to class because she gives participation assignments in class, but also half the time she'll cancel class or move it to zoom. super easy to deal with and get a good grade, hardly any coursework. she takes awhile to grade assignments, but it wasn't a big issue for me. the only problem was it was hard to prepare for the tests

Her lectures were easy to follow and she stuck to the basics for non bio majors. Attendance is not mandatory but class participations are given and gone over in class. Very few grades in this class which was nice just make sure to actually do them. Definitely need to put time into studying for test but definitely not a bad class.

Not super hard course, I think see changed the difficulty of her course to make it easier. Weekly homework assignments that can completed at any time during the semester. Participation assignments every week that you get the prompt for in class. 70% of the grade is based on homework and participation and the other 30 is the three tests.

Doesn't prepare power-points before class. She just reads off the textbook which makes note-taking difficult. Lazy and incompetent teacher. Participation instructions can be vague at times. The only good takeaway from this class is that homework and participation is 70% of the grade and tests are only 30%.

I was not a fan of Professor Paul! She read straight from pages of the textbook, but would still expect us to be in class and read these pages on our own. She does weekly participation, and she only gives the questions in class. Directions are never super clear, and she is a tough grader, so it's easy to get a bad grade on an assignment.

hardest class i've taken this year. she barely teaches, just reads off slides and doesn't even give you time to write down what she's saying or even comprehend it. a plus is the homework & participations & bonuses she gives as grade buffers for when you don't do good on tests. she cancels class a lot out of the blue and sends emails at like 6am.

I'm not a biology major, nor do I claim to be. I had to take this class for gen ed credit and it felt like I was expected to know more about the subject than she does. The tests are really difficult if you're not strong in the subject. However, I did enjoy her style of lectures and thought she was a good professor.

She was an ok professor, not very lenient if you have unforeseen circumstances. Reads strictly off of the note lectures. She will throw multiple chapters on one exam and not even put most of them on the test. Only good thing is that you can fail every test and pass if you get good grades on the homework. Good luck!

Prof. Paul was unaccommodating and unpunctual, and she expected you to know the material before you showed up for class. Her tests were hard, but the homework is worth more, so do it on time. You are required to turn in your lecture notes; that is how attendance is taken, so make sure you show up to class and pay attention.

Awful professor. She cancels class regularly & speeds through the lectures without allowing students to get the notes to comprehend the material. Do not take her if you want to pass
