Very nice, but LOTS of personal stories and tangents during lectures. Curves tests and extra credit. Good use of mutimedia and handouts.

She was a very hard teacher to learn anything from. She was very funny and aside from her stories (mostly about HER interests) and jokes, you cant really learn anything. If you have a problem, it is pretty much "not her problem". I wouldnt recommend trying to learn, but easy fly through course
Her class for me was a waste of time! I did not learn much! She tries to be funny, but is not!When you ask her a question she is sarcastic about it! Her first test is the worst! Don't waste your time in taking notes! 0 recommendation! Too many personal stories that does not teach the student.
I had a hard time taking notes - I dont hear well - she showed videos with no closed caption and did not care that I was not getting the information - her test were horrible - I would not recommend her

She is a very funny person and great to talk to, but you really dont learn anything in her class. TAKE NOTES cause she doesnt get any questions from the book. If you're looking for an easy A, take her class, but if you want to learn, take someone else.
Easiest class in the world. If you fail this class then well you must have not done anything. She gives away extra credit all the time (just pay attention. She sounds like mrs. potts from beauty and the best. She also has the final open book and you only have to take it if you dont like your grade.
i knew more about environmental science than she did... I showed up to see if there was a test that day, and that was about it. an easy A for anyone who already knows ANYTHING about environmental science... I read my own books through most of the classes.
ms.best is sarcastic and has a love of teaching. i totally suggest this teacher, she makes u rent movies and turn in the reciept for a grade. this teacher rocks.

she is funny and at times hard to get. but just take notes on the movies, and get a study group going and you'll ace the class. 2 thumbs up
She is funny and shows a lot of movies. Very easy class with a huge grading curve. If you listen to what she says you will learn but if you don't you will still get a good grade most likely. Attendance doesn't seem necessary but she won't give you a specific test date so its a good idea.
Funny teacher but doesn't teach much. If you dont take notes and dont study them you wont do too great i dont think. she doesn't use the book at all. she shows alot of movies also which is kinda cool.
Great Teacher. She makes subject interesting. Lots of movies. Must take notes, tests are directly from the notes. Gives lots of extra credit. Don't need to buy the book, she will tell you that you don't need it, just make sure you get the notes. Garanteed A if you memorize notes for tests.
Hands on experience in this class. Lots of funny stories, interesting movies and good pictures. Take good notes and you won't need the book.

The worst teacher i ever had. I had no idea what she teaches. She always talks and talks about her personal life that doesn't have any relation with microbiology. I like microbiology but, she made the class so boring and hard. She makes us writes alot instead of just make copies and pay attention to her explanation.
Very easy teacher. If you are not interested in science and just looking for an easy A she is the one.
Dont take her--especially for a night class, I did well only because of extra credit and mega studying---intresting stuff and movies, but a waste of time---her notes, when she writes are wack--memorize the handouts. If you procrastinate dont take her. Her jokes are not funny--funny ha ha--not funny funny.
Really easy-going class. She makes it easy by clearly letting you know exactly what to study. She's pretty goofy! A lot of what you learn will give you a reality check. It's a good class that anyone would enjoy even if uninterested in the environment. Definately check it out!

She doesn't care about attendance. Passing the class is all on you. Stay ontop of your schedule if you don't come a lot bc u can't make up tests. She gives reviews that are really helpful before each exam, plus you can use your notes for extra credit-usually on the movies watched in class. She's nice and funny too.

I really thought this would be the most interesting class i was taking but boy was i wrong! This class was a waste of my time. All she did was show movies until it came to review day and thats when we learned something(the day before the test)! I didnt enjoy this class at all and didnt learn anything! Do not take this professor!
do not take her. at the beginning youll think its cool, but listening to her life stories everyday get old fast. i didnt learn anything at all, i couldnt even stand to be in her class. if u want to fail take her.if not she should be everyones last choice
I don't know why there are so many bad reviews on mrs. best. the class is a bit boring, but it truely is an easy A. she tells you exactly what is going to be on the test and gives loads of extra credit options. if you are looking for an easy science class take her.
Mrs. Best was one of my favorite teachers at PBCC. I took Chemistry, A&P I,II and Microbiology with her and actually remember quite a bit of it (14 years later) because of the way she taught; through humor and stories. I also appreciated her philosphy of "getting there on merit" and her extra steps to prevent cheating. Stop whining about her.
SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER. SERIOUSLY TO GET A BAD GRADE IN HER CLASS YOU MUST BE "REALLY" STUPID OR JUST WILLING TO GET AN F. SHE IS SUCH A NICE LADY. TAKE HER U WONT REGRET

Yes it gets to be a hard class... but She gives you notes, and study materials. If you actually put the time into it, you will pass just fine.
very passionate and interested teacher. great stories. sometimes gets off on tangents but they are always funny. too many movies shown in class. would have rather had more time going over stuff for tests. drops your lowest of first 3 tests which always helps. nice lady. no makeup or early tests though fyi!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! the teacher is so spaved out. she has no idea what she is talking about. never once used the book. you have no idea what shes talking about, she has no idea what shes tgalking about! do not take her you'll regret it!
Understand first that patience is a virtue and that this is one of those classes. I took her for Earth/Space Science. All test are based on notes and we never used the book. Test answers are ALL given before the test and extra credit she gives adds an additional 5 points to any test. The ugly part is she is so boring and sometimes tends to ramble.
Teacher is very funny and shows way too many movies, I took her for Ocean Class and she shows, way too many videos. Never uses the Book, Don't buy it, -you never use it, she goes by her own notes. She lets u use ur notes, computer, and book in the last exam! She is a fun person, *if ur looking for an easy class, this is it!
I found it a hard class. The teacher is nice and has cool stories and gives extra credit like 10 times b/c it is a hard class, i even noticed she curves grades. She gives 4 tests all weighted equally, and lets u drop the lowest of the 1st three. The last one is taken by all. I worked my but off and i'm not sure how i pulled off a "B" JUST STUDY!
if you want a "A", take her. a lot of extra credits. 4/5 classes watch videos. so easy. open notes for third exam and final.

Very sweet lady. Easy class, like everyone says you dont need the book, just take notes on what she says, attendence isnt mandatory but it helped me to go cause i didnt know when we saw a movie or had a lecture. LOTS of extra credit, can't really fail unless you try!

Neatly has all of her notes typed on a paper to copy and gives you plenty of time to do so. All of her tests are open notes and attendance is not mandatory. As long as you have good notes you'll pass this class with an A. You also don't have to take the final if you're happy with your grade. And she'll tell you on the first day NO BOOK.
Take this teacher! Pass over the negative comments, this teacher is so easy! Her notes are clear and she gives us a great study guide that she reviews before test! Open notes test. She is very nice. Text books are not needed, so don't waste the money. It is a very good idea to attend class for lecture as her tests are based on them. Yes she shows films although they are not the most exciting most have valid info. Also don't miss tests she doesn't like making a make up test and it is way more difficult. Overall take her!!!!!!!

I liked her. If you don't show up to class, doesn't care. Get the notes from someone else for sure! She was nice, and she made me want to attend. Only problem: you watch many pointless movies that waste hours of time. Other students were VERY SLOW writers/learners, so she went slow for them. She repeats things for kids who skipped class which sucks

The class is really easy, and the professor is really nice. If you intend to take Earth Science she is an excellent choice. The only bad thing about the class is there are a lot of really boring videos that last way too long.
DO NOT TAKE FOR MICROBIOLOGY !!!!!!First day of class she showed pictures of different animals from where she has traveled and nothing on Micro ! Memorize 100vocab for first test but the test isn't going to ask just for definition. Shows irrelevant movies ! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!
This class was not that bad. Prof. Best gets the job done. She does share many personal experiences and stories with you, however it makes the class fun. As long as you stay on top of things, you will pass. If you like your grade, you will not have to take the final. I would recommend this professorclass for an easy credit.
First of all, she is a very sweet professor, but not strict at all. I am enrolled in the course now. Almost at the end of the semester and we only had one test, AND they are open note. She has a sign in sheet that you do before class, half the class signs in then leaves. Such an easy A, take notes and you'll pass even if you never show up.

Prof Best wasn't my favorite. The class was not hard and I passed with an A but for most of the semester I had no idea what was going on. We had three assignments all semester including tests. You take notes every class but most of it doesn't coincide with test material.. Easy class but be prepared to get frustrated and see tons of vacation pics.

I liked her alot!! It happens to be the only C I ever got at this college, but that doesn't mean it was her fault. I wish the exams were easier, but they were very hard. She was so nice and helpful though. She was fun to have in class.

Professor best is so awesome, you have to take her!! I'm not even getting extra credit for this but I'm doing this because I loved taking her class! She does not make you buy the book, she uses her notes which you're allowed to use on the tests. And you can be exempt from the final if you pass all the test and like your grade. She is so sweet!!
Great Professor! I recommend her for any person who wants to take an easy Earth Space Science class.
She taught us things that had nothing to do with what we were supposed to be learning. We watched San Andreas when studying earthquakes and tsunamis. We watched Jurassic Park when we looked at fossils. She has a terrible way of talking and is confused easily. Very lazy and annoying. I would never take her again. It's an easy A.
She's a nice lady. A super easy class, just copy whatever is on the powerpoint and you will be fine. 4 Tests, open book. You won't take the final if you're happy with your grade at the end of the term. A LOT EXTRA CREDIT. Do it, copy and paste what she tells you and that's it.

I love her, she is so adorable, and hilarious, I would definitely take her again without a doubt in the world, I recommend her, she lets you use all your notes on the test an the tests are soo easy. Professor Best has an undoubtedly profound knack for teaching a class. Her lectures are outstanding, she gives great feedback and grades each of her students fairly. You'll watch films and documentaries and will take notes on them. You'll have two tests and a final. Overall, it's a class that I'd recommend for anyone.
Quirky old woman who loves rocks and cats. She is hilarious and I actually learned a lot in her class. As long as you take notes or take pictures of her slides you'll pass because all of her tests are open note.
