At first I couldn't stand her teaching style, but once I got used to it I really started liking the class. She's always willing to help and wants to make sure everyone understands. She always holds review sessions before each exam and before the final. I recommend her.

A very good teacher. She is willing to hold review sessions, individual appointments and refers to free help which actually works. Do your work and you'll be fine with her; however, if you don't get something.. figure it out

I hated Calc but she is very very helpful. Office hours really help! She is fair with grading. Attendance is necessary to get a good grade in the class but doesnt count for points.

I am really bad at math, but Laura was a good teacher! She moves really quickly in class, but her office hours are soo helpful! Get to know her and she will really help you out, if you want to do well she will work with you to make sure you get the grade you want. Do the homework, its collected.

One of the better calc teachers to get. The calc material is difficult, but she does a good job of explaining how to do everything. The tests are pretty difficult (but not unfair) so make sure you know how to do everything. She doesn't like to curve. WebAssign is an easy 10% of your grade. She's actually pretty cool and funny too

Laura is SO helpful! She understands calc is hard, and will help you and clarify things until you get it! I had never taken calc before, but I studied hard, went to office hours (a lot) and made sure homework was always done, and ended with a B. Tests are hard, but not unfair. Quizzes once a week, not too bad. I hated calc, but liked her!!

Laura was the best teacher I have ever had. If you understand calc is a very difficult subject she is the best teacher you can have for it at Miami. She lives for her students. I had a very difficult schedule and she always made time to meet with me. Taking her is the best decision you could make.

She is the best instructor I've ever had in my life! I feel so lucky to have her because she is my life saver. I hated math before, but she rocked my world with calculus! I minor in Mathematics because of her. She's caring, patient, considerate, and cool!She is willing to do everything to help you with calc and also with college life. I like her.

Awesome teacher. She knows her material and how to teach it. Makes difficult calculus easier and is always available for extra help. Tests were not terribly hard if you knew what you were doing for the most part. Also, if you score higher on the final than another exam, the final grade will replace it which is nice and can be a grade booster!

Different teaching style than in high school. She teaches basic concepts, then you apply them to more difficult problems in the hw. Extremely easy if you took precalc or trig in high school. If you need a teacher to explain every little thing to you though, then this is the wrong professor for you. Overall very helpful and good teacher

Good teacher, just make sure you know what you're doing. If you don't, you're pretty much done. In other words, don't be afraid to attend the help sessions/office hours. She explains things clearly and writes good notes. Pay attention, attend class, go to help sessions, and an A is yours :)

One of the best Math professors I've ever had. Has very clear notes, and her tests are fair, long, but fair. Not the easiest professor in the department, but you will learn calculus. Come to class everyday.

I have never heard about a calculus I teacher better than her. She is always calm and effective in her teaching. She answers all questions, no matter what, and will see students in office hours every day if that is what they need.

She is a fun and helpful teacher, but the course was still quite difficult. Tests and quizzes are fair. Clear notes. The only time that she will curve is at the very end IF the class average is bad. I would still recommend her, she makes math much more fun and interesting, she really does care about the students. Be sure to go to class though.

LAURA IS AMAZING. Never takes attendance but makes every class worth attending with lecture notes much more useful than the book, answering homework questions, and in class group assignments. Exams are like the quizzes and quizzes are like the homework. Calculus is a tough class but she makes it very doable; would not have survived without her.

Laura is an awesome teacher and is extremely helpful if you ever have a question to ask, whether you ask during office hours or during class. Her lectures are clear cut and very helpful, and I would not recommend skipping them. She is so enthusiastic about teaching the class and actually caused me to like math for once.

Anderson is the best calc teacher I've ever had. She is always willing to do examples & go over homework if students ask and she attends help sessions often which gives students extra time with her outside of class. Laura was the best math professor I have had! She truly cares about each one of her students. Makes class fun but also very serious. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. Not an easy A but you have to really try not to at least get a B. Study go to class and go see her and a good grade is yours. I would take her for every math if I could. Seriously the best!

Laura was hands down the best Math teacher I've ever had in my life. Go to class everyday because the notes she gives are really helpful. She will always answer any questions you have and is always willing to help. She loves math and her passion for it really shows. Her tests are tough but if you do the reviews and other studying you will be fine.

Laura genuinely cares about her students, always wishing us to make good choices over the weekends. She makes problems harder than they need to be FOR FUN, but you can't even be mad because she's so passionate about calculus. You'll have a quiz every week besides exam week, and the exams are hard to finish, so study study STUDY.

Best professor I've had to date. I took the class because it was a requirement, but Prof Anderson makes me want to take more math. She's hilarious and somehow made a 2:30-3:30, five daysweek calculus class enjoyable. She truly cares about students, both inside of class and out. If you're stuck needing MTH 151, get Professor Anderson or regret it!

Only took because I had to but if you pay attention you'll do fine! Material is very scattered, and the exams are over alot of material. She is very funny and nice and if you do the work you'll be fine. Alot of online homework but she gives extensions all the time if you forget!

Took calculus in high school and this course was still very difficult for me. However, she helps you out above and beyond what any teacher is expected. She made class interesting and fun, providing incentive to attend every day. 10/10 would recommend. She is an awesome teacher, one of the best I've ever had.

This is a rough course, and I even took calc in high school, but LA makes calc bearable. She is always willing to help, and you can tell she absolutely love what she does. If you don't have her for MTH151, you are missing out!

Laura is a very understanding professor. She right away mentions that we will work fast, but unlike my previous MTH151 experience, she was clear what she wanted to see and accomplish as a class. Very outgoing, funny, and tried to make you feel less stressed about math in general. Also, told us what would be used in MTH151 if we decided to take it.

Probably the best professor I've had at Miami. MTH151 is undoubtedly a tough course, but she somehow makes it fun and actually makes me want to do more math. Shes very funny in class and she will bend over backwards to help you. She really wants the best for all of her students. Shes very understanding and gets to know you in office hours.

Great Teacher, made me love and appreciate Calculus. It is a hard subject, and the class is very hard. But she makes it easy to understand. She is very accessible after class and is there to help you pass. Shes funny and cracks jokes in class. Shes a very clear grader and will go over old tests with you. Laura is really a cool professor. Pre calc was harder than I expected especially after taking it in high school. You really need to write down all of her examples because they help a lot on homework. She loves to help her students though, I definitely recommend Laura.

Three days of the week are large lecture days with Laura and the other two days of the week are small group sessions with a TA. I really enjoyed, learned, and understood the material on the lecture days where Laura always taught. She cares about her students and is available for questions. Only negative-quizzes and tests MUCH harder than homework.

Laura was a good teacher. I had already taken pre-calc so the class was overall easy. She doesn't take attendance every day, it's at random and taken on your phones. There is a lot of homework but it helps prepare you for weekly quizzes and the exams. You have recitation twice a week and it is helpful sometimes. You get good handouts.

There is a lecture on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and there is a small group discussion on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a TA. She is very nice and caring about the students. If you do not go to class it will be a hard ass class, but if you do it is not bad. She answers her emails pretty quickly about meeting with her as well.

Anderson is an outstanding teacher and has an awesome teaching style, but unless you really really work for an A your best bet is taking the class for pass/fail and maybe studying for an hour before each quiz and saying a prayer before the exams and you should be fine.

I don't recommend you to take Dr. Anderson's course if you don't plan to put much effort into it. However, if you do, her difficult problems are really good to develop your Calculus skill. I also love her grading style. In the exam, if you show that you know how to solve the problem, she will give you almost full credit despite some small mistakes.

Professor Anderson helps the Calculus 1 easier in the COVID-19 age. She gives hard homework, which requires lots of effort and time to finish but the test is not so hard. Moreover, in the test, if you show that you know how to approach the problem, she's still giving you close to perfect marks even if you made some small mistakes due to calculation

Prof. Anderson is my favorite professor so far. Her online classes were flexible and there were no mandatory lectures. She did have a lot of homework with weekly monitored quizzes and monthly exams, but if you followed they are not that difficult. She replies emails quickly so feel free to ask her questions!!!!

if you don't ask for help she won't help you but if you do it will get you far in the class. if you ask she will give extra help and she really cares about her students success if you show you care about it too. what you put in you will get out if not more.

151 is a course with a lot to cover and Anderson knows this and really cares about your understanding of the content. She has helpful review sessions before exams (and many quizzes) and you can ask as many questions as you need (the sessions will often go super late and I always leave before they are over, but she always will stay and help)

I loved Ms. Anderson! She was one of my favorite professors thus far. She helped me out so much! Not only in class, but also outside of class. There are a lot of quizzes and exams, but there are always review sessions. Im going to miss this class and having her as a professor!

My grade is not a B but it will be! She is caring. I have recently, like two days ago lost a close friend, her humor has honestly made my day and made me forget. She is a tough grader but if you do the homework on time (which I don't) you can get an A. She actually teaches you! This is def a must study class!

Laura is wonderful. She's engaging every lecture and will genuinely take the time to answer everyone's questions and make sure they understand. It is a Calculus class so like, its not a breeze, but if you go to class and do the homework, and ask questions as soon as you get confused, you'll get a sold grade.

Professor Anderson is a gem. While a lot of people drop out of business calc, it is not because of her teaching. You need to show up to lectures and put in the work outside of class, which a lot of people don't do. She is funny, and is passionate about her job. She will do anything to help you, you just need to ask. I'm glad I had her

I would just say go to class, it's not mandatory but you need to go if you want to get a good grade. Also, go to the class with the TA it is so helpful.

MTH141 is known to be a hard class but Prof Anderson was available outside of class and so were TA's. She clearly cared that we all did well too. I definitely recommend taking this class with professor anderson

She made the content easy to understand, gave good examples, and was funny. She posted exam and quiz reviews. Overall, I loved Laura and I wish I could take her for another course! This class is hard due to the amount of content you have to get through during the semester because it is five credit hours, but Laura will get you through it!

Professor Anderson kicks the sheets and wins the day. I strongly recommend her for any math class. She does an excellent job explaining the logic behind the math. The class design provides plenty of practice for students and she gives plenty of partial credit. There is so much assistance and availability for the class.

Anderson is seriously amazing. Taking any math class there is not much room for slacking off but she is a dork and so passionate about math it makes it more fun. Hoping I get her in calc. The exams are hard but if you study it will be fine, she is so willing to work with you one on one. The homework is not heavy but not light.

Professor Anderson is a great teacher and really cares about math. She is willing to go above and beyond to help you. Go to office hours! Attendance is not mandatory but recommended. Homework heavy class and exams are worth most of your grade. Also, don't expect to get out of class early, Professor Anderson likes to keep you till the last minute!

Though this class may be difficult, if you show up to class, participate, and ask questions when you need to, you will pass. She has many office hours and constantly posts about other resources available for help, and always answers questions in class. As someone who didn't take Calculus beforehand, she is good at engaging in class and teaching. There are weekly quizzes, 5 exams in total. If you show up to lectures and the SI sessions, you will be fine. She has pretty flexible office hours and is decent at responding to emails. This class isn't hard, but you have to put effort into studying.

Laura is an amazing professor and definitely a great choice for MTH141! There is weekly homework and quizzes. There are 4 midterms and final exam. You can do really well on the exams if you do the practice exams. Laura also is very responsive to emails and holds tons of in person office hours! The course materials are the same across professors.

Professor Anderson was great and her office hours were very helpful. This class is very challenging and consumed my semester requiring a lot of work outside of class in order to do well on weekly quizzes and the three exams. Take advantage of her office hours, the lecture was very large but she always made sure to talk to the students she knew.

This class is difficult but you will be very well prepared for Calculus. Laura Anderson was very accessible outside of class and gives interesting lectures (as interesting as you can get for math).

Professor Anderson was excellent! I got COVID for 11 days at the beginning of the semester and fell too far behind to catch up, so I had to withdraw, but she did everything in her power, including making the extra time to meet with me to get me caught up. Grading criteria were very clear, and plenty of resources were provided to successfully study.

She was amazing, attendance isn't mandatory but you will get a little behind if you don't go. She explains everything so clearly and will take time with you if you don't get it at first. She responds super quickly to emails and is very easygoing. There is like three homework assignments a week and one quiz every Friday but they don't take too long.

Professor Anderson is really good at teaching subjects to a larger class while both helping and getting feedback from everyone. Very chill and down to earth, and will make the class enjoyable.

She is terrific. I went to office hours and got to know her pretty well which gave me more leniency with a few things. I am terrible at math but worked hard to get the A+ in this class. She is super adaptable to your learning style as well.

Lectures are optional. Keeping up with the homework assignments and attending the recitations were very helpful. There were graded quizzes during the recitations that helped my overall grade. Also, the exam review sessions during the regular class time are VERY valuable for preparing for the exams.

Would take this class again. She is easy to understand and can actually dumb down the content for everyone to understand. Answers everyone's questions and is always available for help. Not a hard class at all and would reccommend.

Very nice person and clearly knowledgable in her field. Lectures move extremely fast and there are so many homework's that take forever to do. Tests and quizzes are somewhat difficult but she typically provides study guides that go over all the material you need.This class requires a lot of work and attention. Getting a good GA also helps a lot.

My best professor freshman year for Calc II. Hardest class I ever took, but she made it enjoyable and was always helpful in office hours. Would recommend her to everyone for every math class you can get her for. She is flexible, very intelligent, and will go great lengths to help make your semester bearable.

Professor Anderson is a great math instructor. The weekly quizzes and practice exams were very helpful for acing the course. unstuck study was a game-changer too - made study prep way more efficient. Engage in class and you'll do well!

She treats her students equally and teaches the subject effectively and the skills needed to progress through life. She values all students and always provides different ways to get her ideas through to them. Making sure they understand the concepts she teaches, not the memorization of the results. She's truly unlike any professor.

Calculus is always a tougher class, but this professor does everything she can to help students. All you have to do is go to office hours, and she is willing to answer any question until you understand. Classes mostly consist of notes, so good notetaking skills are very helpful. Truly one of the kindest professors I've had so far at Miami.
