I had very little interest in Anthro but Pro. Ayers made EVERYTHING fun and interesting. She explains everything thoroughly and ALWAYS willing to help. There is no way you'll fail her class, unless you refuse to try. She always gives tons of extra credit which is always a plus. Best teacher I've had thus far!!!

Awesome professor with lots of opportunity for extra credit. You get the grade you work for. You are not going to automatically pass this class by just showing up. Prof. Ayers is very helpful and will answer any questions you have about the class. I highly recommend her for Anthropology at HCC.

Professor Ayers is AMAZING. She's full of energy, is passionate about what she teaches, and she actually has a sense of humor. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class. Tests are hard, but all you need to do is study your notes. DON'T MISS CLASS because you'll miss important information. She offers tons of extra credit and is very willing to help.

I absolutely loved professor Ayers! I came into this class not having a clue what anthropology was, but I learned a lot in this class. There's no way for anyone to fail her class, she is very clear on what test are going to be about and she gives extra credit. She is one of the best professors HCC has.

She is a really nice person. Attendance is mandatory and there is a quiz every class day if you are taking her once a week. They are pretty easy if you study, she gives you review slides to help you. This class deals with evolution. Personally I do not believe in human evolution from a common ancestor with any primate. But it was manageable.

The subject is hard, that being said this teacher knows it in and out and teaches it very well. Not an easy class, but not the hardest either. Much more interesting than other science classes (Biology x.x)Take it if you are willing to put in 1-2 hours extra a week at home studying/essays. Overall great class. She's very very pretty if that helps.

Professor Ayers teaches in a very straight-forward manner. If you can put information on flashcards and actually spend time studying them, this class is an easy A. She is kind but also very no-nonsense.

This class isn't that challenging as long as you do the work, attend classes regularly and make sure to take plenty of notes. Everything she mentions won't be on the test but everything she gives you on the review sheet will so there are plenty of resources when it comes to studying for the test. Class isn't difficult as long as you study.

If you're not just looking for an easy A and actually want to learn and go into the field of Anthropology she will make sure you go in with a wide amount of knowledge. She's also very funny, I personally love her sense of humor. I don't know if I'm going to pass this class but if I had to take it again, I would definitely retake her.

She is very clear on teaching, she answers questions and her assignments make sense. This is not an easy class, however. You can't skip class if you wanna make a good grade. She gives a lot of extra credits and she will help you if you're having any trouble on the course. She does what she's supposed to do. Teach.

I had professor Ayers for lab and wish she had a D.E. Lecture class so I could have taken her. Her test are not easy but if you study the review you will be so good. She gives you tons of opportunities for extra credit and grades on a curve! I'm am amazed by her knowledge and enjoyed her class. Thank you professor Ayers!

At the beginning i took the class because it was required but after i started taking the class with professor Ayers i found the subject very interesting, she made this class one of my major interests and yes be prepared for a lot of homework and quizzes, but for sure you will learn. if you really want to learn take her. also tons of extra credit

She's a fantastic professor who clearly knows her anthropology. She makes her lectures engaging and interesting; there's rarely a dull moment. She is tough, grading wise, but the best professors are.

This teacher was great she helped me realize my own potential. If you don't want to earn your grade, take another class, but if you want to be challenged and pushed to learn this is for you.

She's amazing! She turned me into an Anthropology geek! I absolutely loved this class! Don't expect an free grade though! As long as you take as many notes as you can from her lectures & use them to study, you'll pass w a good grade! I didn't like the long study list for the short quizzes. But her lectures are entertaining & you learn a lot.

Great professor! Not an easy A, but she gives you every opportunity to succeed. Thorough lectures, one quiz a week, multiple homework assignments (based on short documentaries), four tests (she drops the lowest),extra credit and DONT SKIP CLASS! Not only will you miss out on important information but also she deducts 2points for each class missed.

If you care she cares. No BS very straightforward and direct. She has high expectations, but will give you the tools to achieve them, and nothing more nothing less. Do not expect coddling, and show up or you will get points deducted from your grade and miss a quiz that you cannot make up.

She might be one of my favorite professor's so far. Yes, she does make you work for your grade... but this is college! She is very clear on her expectations so as long as you do your assignments you will do just fine. Great communication and is easily accessible outside of class. She also gives extra credit, enough to add 10pts to your final grade.

Pretty straight forward. She makes you earn it and you will get the grade you work for. Also, she offers enough extra credit to go up an entire letter grade. Honestly shes great and I would recommend.

Professor Ayers is easily one of the best professors HCC has. She knows her material and she knows how to give an excellent lecture, but she is not going to HAND anyone a grade. You work for it, but as long as you do the assignments and keep up with the reading there is no reason anyone should do poorly in her classes. I highly recommend her.

If you Read all of the syllabus you shouldn't have a problem. If you pay attention to deadlines and take notes you should be able to pass your quizzes and tests. I highly recommend Professor Ayers. She provides you with extra credit but that's all up to you. There's a lot of work in her class but they are interesting assignments.

Professor Ayers is great! She is very fair, helpful, pleasant, funny, and she really cares about her students. I didnt have to purchase a textbook but there still was a lot of lecture slides to read. I think there were about 18 assignments, 3 exams, 11 quizzes. It's all timed so you have to study! I got an A! Oh and LOTS of extra credit offered.

Professor Ayers is awesome and very straight forward. She makes learning fun but man, Anthropology is hard! I did my best to study and do the assignments but I struggles throughout the course. Needless to say, I missed my C by a couple of points. Now I have to re-live it once more because I need a C of better. She's a hard grader.

I enjoyed this online class very much. It was an easy A. Make sure to study the green review slides in the slideshows. Professor Ayers is very straightforward in what she expects from you. I liked her sense of humor as well!

Keep in mind that school takes dedication and investment. Did not need the book, her lecture/notes sufficed greatly; so attendance is a must. She is definitely an expert at Anthropology, and we are lucky to have someone of her expertise. She is straight forward on expectations and sticks to her syllabus. Can easily be reached if needed. Fun class.

She is a great teacher very knowledgeable on the subject. Tests are a breeze if you take the time to study. There are quizzes but just pay attention in class and you wont need to worry at all. Extra credit is available. Take this class you will glad you did!

She has a good sense of humor. I took her for Physical Anthropology Lab. She is friendly and available to students. I enjoyed the time in her class. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities, and they are very doable.

Professor Ayers is a very entertaining teacher and presents the material well. Don't skip watching the video lectures. In this class there was a lot of assigned documentaries to watch and answer questions about. I found the work pretty simple as long as you watch the lectures and look at the slides, and complete any handouts she gives you.

The homework is a lot, especially with the papers and quizzes, but as long as you show up to class and do the readings you should be fine to pass. Her lectures are entertaining and she tries to incorporate fun activities throughout the semester (I.E. a game called 'Is It Incest?") Definitely one of the best at HCC, highly recommend her class!

I am surprised how low her rating is. Professor Ayers is real. Her expectations are very clear and she knows what we are capable of. Her class is hard not because of her, the subject itself was difficult for me. A lot of scientific names God knows I will not remember. But her class is and assignments are fun. If you need this class, take her!

I took her class on line but had to go to the HCC Central campus to take tests. She includes video lectures, presentations of her video lectures, and handouts that go along with them. Her response time to emails is awesome and she offers many extra credit options. The work may seem like a lot but is manageable. Be ready to watch many videos.

This professor made what I expected to be a difficult class into what's become my favorite,She is witty and informative,I was surprised her score wasn't higher then I saw all the negative comments are almost identical,She can drop a lot of info on you but the amount of work isn't difficult or excessive,The only way to fail this class is to not try.

Tests are 60% of your grade, the other 40% is assignments both in class and at home. You have to work for your grade! If youre not willing to do your part of the job, youll be sitting in class not understanding a single thing. Daily quizzes on material (summer). Very demanding, stressful class yet enjoyable. Class offered 10% thru EC. So, DO IT!!

This class was easy, Pro. Ayers is a funny teacher, she gives extra credit, she responds fast. Her quizzes are 6 questions but only 7 mins to complete. I never used the textbook. ON finale she lets you use a notecard you create. There is some busywork but overall I would take her again!

This class was the hardest class I've ever take at HCC, but it was the most enjoyable and mind-changing class ever. Her lectures are amazing, she know the subject so well that she makes the class so interesting and amazing. Weekly quizzes that help you to get amazing grades in the TESTs. TAKE GOOD NOTES - READ - REVIEW - and you will get an A.

You will learn a lot about ancient ancestors and non-primate humans and just overall fun information. She's hard on grading but reasonable! Do the work, easy A.

This class was 8 weeks and we had a quiz each week, there were short movies we had to watch and answer questions we also had other small assignments. they are easy A's just don't procrastinate. you can't skip. assignments. to start. on others you. have to do everything in order to continue the assignments. intimidating but. worth it.

One of the best teachers hands down. She may give a lot of work but she trust me, they will help in the long run. The quizzes are mostly easy and the lowest few will be dropped. She also gives a TON of extra credit. Her final is cumulative and she lets you have one note card. You cover a lot of material but she makes lectures very enjoyable.

Professor Ayers is one of those professors that goes out of their way to make sure that her students are doing well. She provides very helpful feedback and extends help to those who need it. She also keeps her lectures interesting by inserting memes into her PowerPoints and loves giving fun facts about animals. I highly recommend her.

Prof Ayers is an awesome teacher. I really enjoyed her lectures and she is very transparent. Her lectures will be on quizzes and test. There are no surprises or miscommunication. You will not have questions on tests that were not a part of her lectures. If you study and pay attention in her class, you will pass. She is very accessible!

I took this class in the Spring of 2021 and it was great. She's is very informal, help you if you don't understand and gives ton of extra credit assignments. Her weekly test are short 6 questions and 8 minutes. It really helps for the exams (3). Also I would advice to write down the answers from the kahoot. It helped me pass every exam.

Professor Ayers is an amazing professor she helped me a lot during the summer class. Take her class she's awesome!

Although the course really is note-heavy, Professor Ayers teaches it respectfully giving her students time to learn the material and helps them too. There are also clear ways to earn extra credit through optional assignments and actual extra credit assignments.

Don't take her if you're looking for an easy A. Take her if you REALLY want to learn the subject! Her online lab class is very involved but the work is not hard if you try. She helps you and is a fair grader, and gives good feedback but you have to put in the effort. Labs consist of group work with partners. Would take again bc I love learning!

If you want an easy class keep looking. Prof Ayers is an absolutely amazing professor, her lectures are clear and entertaining. I did not have to study as hard in her class because of how good she is at teaching.

If you genuinely want to learn anthropology take this professor. Super good at teaching. If you are looking for a blow-off class though, this class has a decent amount of work but is super easy. Quizzes and test are straight from lecture slides and it is open note.
