Laura is extremely passionate about anthropology, and that made going to her class worthwhile. She is a REALLY easy marker and you'd be surprised at how many people show up for an 8 am class!

I find that this teacher is very passionate and commited to teaching. She strives to open the eyes of her students, and encourages the students to examine their world view, and critique the things we take for granted. The best teacher I've had. Period.

a good teacher. willing to do alot of different things with students. lots of guest speakers and a fun trip to see petroglyphs at the beach. I learned alot about native people and it really opened up my eyes

Great teacher, very insightful and caring. The class material is extremely interesting and important. I would definitely recommend this class to ALL students for its valuable content, not just anth majors.

Very easy teacher. Taking notes in her class is a nightmare considering the fact that she rambles on, but overall she is very passionate about course and is very helpful to her students. I would recommend her. Do your readings you will ace the course.

I think some of these comments are waaaay too harsh because honestly, Laura really tries to make her class meaningful. I hated the text, but not her.

I took him in the year 2003, she was a good prof. I agree with some of the comments, that she could be emotional at times, but overall, she is a good person. It is up to you in how to approach her. She can be helpful if you want to get to know her, and be interested in her material.Sheappreciatesit.

Great teacher. She really tries to teach you to think for yourself. Pushes you to think out of the box. She is a hard marker but fair since she prepares you well in class. First year students would probably not relate since the course itself is very deep. She is not your average teacher.

For people who love humanity and don't follow others this is a great teacher. If you don't believe the right winged garbage you see on television or in the papers this a great teacher who gets her students involved in class. On the contrary the movies are interesting, the lectures are ok and the tests are not bad. Anyone who quotes 2pac is dope.

I love her attitude. first anthropology class I took. First teacher I have ever met who apologized for white privelege and racism in our society. The movies were thought provoking and her understanding of other cultures first class. After ten years out of school she made me feel special in class. With so many uninspired teachers she is superb.

Good prof. Very interesting, very real and stimulating. If you do your work and reading you will do well on tests, but they are tough. Makes her classes relevant to our world now and our history.

Great teacher and great person. This is a human being who will never judge you by what you say are what race you are. This is a teacher is the mold of Edward J Olmos movie "Stand By Me." Not the easiest tests but not that hard if you study. Class was fun and the last day of class you have a fiesta. Big ups to her.

What a fantastic person. She's really easy to get along with. Very open minded. Funny, too. She once apologized to the class for using the word "screwing" instead of sex... I think she was being serious. :) A great teacher.

Had her in the summer. Pretty laid back class. We had alot of discussion and she really made us think. We did cool projects with music. I will take a class with her again.

I must admit, i was not a fan of the class at first. But looking back, I learned SO MUCH. It definatly opened my eyes up to reality. She's a good teacher, def. reccomended in my books.

You need to take this class! Laura Cooper is an awesome teacher. Her class is really interesting and completely challanged me to evaluate the way I see the world. I 100% recommend her as a teacher.

Laura is a great teacher! She is interested in making sure you do well, but you have to do the work. You can tell she is very passionate about what she teaches and has lots of first hand experience. Anth didnt interest me before taking her, but now i want to take another course! Definitely Recommended!

great class...take it

laura is hard to describe. yes she can be biased. but she also gives alot of extra time for ppl she feels are trying but aren't doing as well. our class had 2 mid terms (no final), 1 essay, 1 group project, and 1 discussion of a book. there can be alot of work, depending on your course load. id take lisa fiaella if i was to do it again. GOOD LUCK!

Laura is so awesome!!!!! I changed my major from Psychology to Anthropology because of taking her classes. She really makes you think critically about what is really going on in this ignorant and sometimes depressing world. I like her as a teacher, but I like her even more as a person.

This instructor was totally inspiring, full of personality and passion. Weekly quizes were great it forced one to stay on top of the readings. Excellent eye opening class. Can't wait to take another class with her.

She's a good teacher, and manages to grab your attention and make you really think about things. I think the readings are a little too much, and the tests are hard though. It's always linking things, and thinking critically about it all. Kind of a hard marker. I'm still taking another class with her though!

Laura is absolutely phenomenal. She grasps your attention and makes you really think about the world around us. You can tell she has a passion for what she is teaching. She is a very fair marker; you really do get what you deserve with her. Go to all your classes (and pay attention) and read your text book and you should be fine. An amazing prof.

The conference for credit was a good idea. The 50 facts projects were interesting even though I usually hate group work. I will take another with her

very cool teacher. very passionate about her work, willing to help you out with anything. its not an easy class but she makes it easy to keep up with the readings. tests are clear and on the material she taught. if you put in a little effort its an easy grade. very interesting class, i would take her again.

The readings were good but a bit boring at times. The marshallese book was excellent. The seminar was good. Great class
