Lots of bonus marks given
No Comments
Lots of Homework but relevant to tests.
Excellent teacher; explains clearly; weekly homework (more like bonus marks)
Great Teacher
highly recomended
Great Teacher, Explains well, homework helps for tests
Teaches well, looks great and is always there to help if you're having problems.
Some say she is easy, but the truth is she motivates you to learn by offering lots of opportunities to do so. She does give lots of homework, but do it because it pays of in the end.
Not only is she hot but she cares about students. Extremely supportive and helpful. Recommended highly
The teacher to take if you want high marks for ACCT 2293. She gives "tones" of homework, so you have to be prepared to do them if you want to succeed in her class. However, the homework you do will eventually pay off on the exams.
Great teacher! If you do all homework she gives on your own, you will get pretty high mark on your final.
you will learn very much in her class.
There is alot of homework, but it only benefits you in the end, helping you to learn and achieve great marks. She is also very understanding and kind. I can honestly say I have never had a better math/accounting teacher.
Treat people like kindergarden if you answer her questions right. Loads of hwk and quizzes. Doesn't really teach in class, u have to learn it by urself @ home. Good thing is that her mid-terms are easy. Not recommend if you really want 2 learn something.
Very humorous and helpful accounting teacher.
good teacher - I've taken her classes twice - there is a lot of pressure to do the homework but it's worth it. Very understanding and helpful
She is the one of best ACCT teacher in Kwantlen.
hard!
She takes a basic course and goes over the work with thouroughness. The heavy load of homework assigned makes the knowledge sink in well. One of the better teacher that I have had.
Tough. Won't hesitate to embarass you in front of your fellow students. Piles on the homework. Having said all that, she explains clearly all the concepts and details.
sooo hard!!! you basically have to teach yourself everything! She picks on you and makes you feel stupid if you dont get the answer!
Great Teacher! Makes you do alot homework but in the end it has paid off! The tests were all easy. I wish she was teaching more classes!
get past her ****star name, and she is a great teacher! She gives tons of homework, because its the only way to learn accounting- Do it and you will do well in her class in future accounting.
Really good teacher, the mountain-load of homework helps to drill all the material into your head. Class is set up similar to a grade 9 class, homework due the next day, it gets marked, everyone participates. EASY tests and quizzes if you know your stuff
It's good the text reads easily b/c it's the only one that will teach you. Class time: just homework and quizzes on INDEPENDENT STUDY. Doesn't teach, but gets flustered and disorganized when explaining. Tutor recommended.
This teacher never teach in class. We have to learn by ourselves.. She is no use. When students ask her to explain something... she will be frustrated. Really bad teacher. i don't recommend her!
NOT VERY HELPFUL UNLESS YOU KISS UP TO HER SHE PICKS FAVORITES AND SHE DOENT LIKE GIRLS!
she hold grudges, just suck up to her and don't ****her off, if you do, your f*cked! not very mature at all, she should start treating her students as adults, not children, make the class more interactive!!
cares about students. spends lots of time explaining and making sure everyone is doing well.
If you don't like being lectured out of the text book, then take her. You learn it all on your own and she assigns tons of homework. Lectures are for going over homework and quizzes. I thought she was great, if you do the work, you'll do well.
woo baby shes a hotty. Wicked person as well. She has interest in what she teaches and is very helpful
She's great! Makes you study! Quizes and exams are very similar to the homework. She'll help you if you ask for it.
Very god teacher, doesn't teach very often though. If you can get her, take her because she's so helpful and makes everything very very clear; also very caring.
She is really BAD, if you want to fail pick this woman, she garuntee you'll fail, her class started with 29 and ended with 12 , you tell me what's wrong with that. And one last thing her policy is and i quote" I DONT ANSWER QUESTIONS" WHAT KINDA TEACHER IS THAT !DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PROF!!
GREAT TEACHER!!! If you do your homework, it is a guarenteed A.
awesome teacher..shes fair and makes the class fun..just make sure you come to class and have your homework done! test are fair..just STUDY!
WTF KINDA TEACHER IS A TEACHER THAT DOES'T TEACH. i really have a problem with people who dont like their professions, and Dallas is one of them. Her students hate her becuase she is such a impatient person and simply does not like to teach. when shes asked a question she does her best to ignore it!
forcing participation at 8am is not a good idea.. she expects a lot but is always willing to help you out. in case youre thinking of taking 2293 without any accounting background, dont expect it to be easy. shes and effective prof, but the subject isnt easy..

She is a great teacher. She cares about her students and is always there to help/answer your questions(just not in exams) You have to do the homework! Both classes are hard but if you do the work then you should be able to get a B+ or higher. She gives examples and tells you exactly what to expect on the exams. I would take a class from any day
Wow! Amazing prof. Definitely makes you work. Homework due every week which focuses you on the concepts. Highly recommend this prof.

Before her class, I had no interest in ACCT. But she is such a wonderful teacher that she really makes you want to do well! Be prepared to do homework though! She'll move heaven and earth to help you out if you are showing effort. If not, she'll really care less. I think she is a fabulous teacher and I am so glad I held out to take her for ACCT!
Laura is such a helpful teacher! When I started taking this class I was scared of her because she seemed so strict, but she's actually really nice & explains things so well!!
I think that Laura is a great teacher. She will make you work hard, and give you a lot of homework but she really cares about the progress of her students. She is also very helpful if you aren't understanding the concepts. When she gives exams she will tell you what is on them and exactly what to study. FYI: Do NOT bring your cell to exams!
One of the best instructors I have ever had.
She was very helpful and i got a very good grade thanks to her
she is a nice teacher. she teaches well and is approachable. her tests are very fair and she tells you what's on it... the only bad thing is she gives WAY too much homework - and twice a week. be prepared, and don't take too many other classes, as this will steal much of your time.
I think her exams are too long, like her m/c for instance those questions are soo time consuming b/c most involve calculations. HWK is insane load. I don't like how she doesn't let us copy down the solutions in time when she goes over them. b/c everyone tries so hard that's why class average is so high. I guess her strategy of forcing hwk works.
Unbelievable class. She doesn't even teach. It's basically try to do homework on your own then go over answers in class. Wtf - how is anyone suppose to learn?
Feel really streeful to her homework becauce HW shoud be done before the lecture teaching and it is counted as part of our grade. Some homework is not easy. So, I have to spend a lot of time learning by myself. However, she doesn't really teach, only go over the HW answer. Exam is too long.
She is such a b*&%h. Mean to students. Doesn't teach at all. DONT waste your money ppl.
By far my favourite accounting teacher ever!!
she SUCKS. she doesn't teach AT ALL. i have no idea why others gave her so high in rating. The only way you can learn is to do hw....that's all. i took the course because of the ratings...i regret. i basically just go to the class and let her check the hw and leave the class right away. she is a REALLY BAD teacher. ppl, may god bless you.
Ok, just to clear the air on the previous posts. This is a 6 credit class jammed into 3 months, If you signed up for this class you knew it would be hard. The workload is huge and the tests are too long, what did you expect in a condensed class? Laura challanges you to work hard but if you can keep up you will get a decent grade.
this 6 credit course is harsh in terms of workload, you have to be very fast on the exams, they don't let u think much. either u get it or u go on. a fair portion of the students actually end up failing or withdrawing. however, if u are a very hard worker, minimum grade of C+ is gauranteed no matter what.
The workload is too much, we finished 24 Chp's in 3 months. Laura doesnt teach anything in class, goes over Pwr Pnt notes. Gives tonnes of HW. Its a self-study class. She just puts HW ans on overhead & no explanation, On MANY ocassions she couldnt explain how the answer was derived & asks sudents to help her. She is waste of time & money. Avoid her
I do agree that this is one heavy workload, probably more than I ever expected but it is a double course. I didn't like the text- found it very confusing at times and I do agree that she assigned excessive homework. At the end of it all, if you work hard she is very fair. I liked her!
participation marks are helpful!
shes a hot blonde, dresses sexy and loves giving Fs
she humiliates her students. tells them they will look at their homework and want to get **** it will be so hard. she also tells students that they should drop the class if they don't understand something, instead of trying to help them. basically she sucks.

YOU WILL BE FINE IF YOU JUST DO YOUR HOME WORK. THAT IS THE ONLY KEY TO SUCESS. SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER. SHE WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHATS GONA BE ON EXAMS.
Accounting is pretty dull, but she tries to make it interesting. She gives a lot of homework, but thats how you learn. If you don't do the homework, you'll fail. She helps a lot and tells you what to expect on her tests. Again...Read the book, do the homework, and your guaranteed at least an A! I got an A+, and I've never done acct in my life!!
Very Good prof. Big homework load but that what helps people learn. I strongly recommend this prof. She bring real life experiences into the class to make it interesting and if you try you can get an easy A. I did.
Laura is NICE & HAPPy person in Accounting course. If you do your work, you will B FINE!!!

Much better than Deb Musil & Barb Katz. She is nice & happy to every students in the class.
i would recommend ppl take accting with Laura, if u are a full time student. The accounting assignment(itself) is rilli comprehensive. if u need to work full-time, forget about it...unless u rilli addict to accouting field...sigh...i thought i'm one of them...but not really...if u did all the assignment, i dun see how hard to get an A from Laura.
show up, do the homework, and you will get an A. she makes everything easy to understand, the exams are very nice, and shes very helpful. best professor i've ever had. only way you can possibly fail is if you don't show up and don't do the homework
Much much better than Deb Musil. Laura is more efficient and more incentives for students to learn new things. If you take her for ACCT 3320, I will recommand her for you.
Laura is an efficient and happy teacher in my life. She motivates student to work rather than talk. She is helpful if you have something you don't really understand. I will recommend her for all of you if she teaches ACCT 3320 or 3520!!!
Laura makes her students work hard to earn a good grade. Alot of homework, however your so practiced you aced the tests. She cares about her students learning as long as they care about their own learning.
i would recommend not to take her class, unless u have time to learn it by urself....
Laura is such a good teacher. You really have to work hard if you want to get an A.
She made sure the hw was done and we went through it in every class so we saw the material atleast 3 times.
Lots of homework (and she marks it too!) but you will receive a really good grade if you do everything. The homework and assignments are very time consuming but you wil understand the material. I would definately recommend her!
I really can't stand her teaching this class. It's hard to understand if you are doing Accounting for the first time. She says she will give a study plan for students who needs help. we stay behind and asks if we are doing ok.. thats it! She did nothing! She says if you don't pass the first midterm here is no way you are going to pass the class....
Laura is good. There is alot of homwork but it helps you get to know the material. You get marks for doing the homework. She doesnt mark the home work fr wrong or right answrs. You get marked for doing it.
Laura is an awesome prof. One of the best! She looks good for her age.
She doesn't teach well. We spent most of our time in class doing homework questions. The prof. is nice but not very helpful
Doesn't really teach material just goes over slides and gives exercises. To much material and not enough time to teach it. The course assumes you already know the material and makes you apply it to case studies. Overall a hard class that could use some tweaking.
Weekly assignments on Lyryx, a few major cases (writing papers for accounting yay), and two midterms. no final. her participation marks are insane seeing that sometimes 2 hours worth of assignments is accounting for ONE days participation mark. u just need to focus alot of time on this course and should be fine.
She gives you a lot of homework to do, but her average mark is fairly high. It's not an easy class but if you do the assigned work you should be fine
I would not recommend this teacher. Her exams are nothing like what you learn in class and if you review a midterm with her she isnt HELPFUL AT ALL..Was not a fan
Fun class! Great Teacher!
Doesnt go into enough depth in class(essentially gives intro to chp). This is a prof for self learners-lots of homework given and you need to do it because you certainly wont acquire the kind of skill you need in class.Test are moderately hard.Shows enthusiasm in class. Is very strict(talking/cells etc).I have had her for 2 classes(A+in both).
Easy going and fastest responder of emails I have ever seen. Easy marker overall. Notes all in powerpoint so kind of wished she does more examples to keep things less boring.
Extremely helpful. Very approachable. Very strict and firm with rules, but friendly. Class is not easy though, there's a lot of homework, and studying is a must. The second midterm was very tough though. Try to prepare for that. Otherwise, she pretty much tells you what will be on the exams. So if you study, you will do great.
Laura is really helpful and wants her students to succeed. There is a lot of homework that is required in this class but it HELPS you understand the content a lot! Laura has her rules but she is an amazing trach and you learn a lot in her class. If you do the homework and review it before the exams, you will do great! Highly recommend Laura.
Not sure why people think Laura is a good prof. She gives you 3 cases that are 1/10 easiness compared to the one worth marks which is like a 10+/10. She also admits this herself. Doesn't give examples and the exam is nothing like textbook, lyryx, powerpoints or anything else done in class. Super hard self taught class with lots of useless work
She is not an instructor. You spend 1 hour every class going over administrative stuff. That is what the course outline is for. She does not teach the material and insists the material must be taught to yourself. Her marking is simply unfair. Will never give reasons as to why you lost marks. She thrives on poor class averages. Horrible professor!
She spends every class telling us how difficult it is and how low her averages are, she marks unreasonably hard and seems happy about her low averages. She doesnt teach in class because shes busy telling you how you will do bad. Only take if you can learn yourself, and plan to spends multiple hours and hours on homework. Dont take w/a heavy load.
Do not take any subject with her. She does not teach and she is very subjective when it comes to her grading. If she likes you, she will give you a high grade. If not, then she will mark you down. Never gave an example even once. She does not teach and all she does is discuss administrative stuff. Do not take it with her.
Do not take this class with this teacher. She barely teaches the class, instead just makes you read the text. Tests are nothing like any of her assignments. The cases she makes you do are ridiculously difficult and are almost worthless marks wise. Talks about herself a lot. Lots of mindless work for no payoff. She enjoys giving low marks!
Excellent Professor. Prepares you for the real world scenarios, CGA Designation and brings practical knowledge in the class. Requires hard work, completion of assignments, practice exams, in-class Quizes. 100% Recommended for the Target of getting Real World Knowledge and Practical Approach to learning. She is Adorable. Hats-Off for Laura Dallas!
pretty much work makes the course like 9 credits worth, at least 1/3 of the class cannot pass, sometimes helpful for the real world, but absolutely not helpful for GPA
she's helpful, but you need to put in an effort
She's not an easy prof but you can pass this course if you put in the effort. She's understanding and very helpful. It's a difficult course with a lot of homework.. LOTS of homework..I recommend taking this course as the ONLY course for the semester. She makes her own rules and goes by them.... yep!
She gives alot of homework but that's really helpful.
Her exams are really hard. the first midterm was completely form CGA. try to avoid her.
Hands down the worst professor I have ever experienced. She is hypocritical, demanding, and very rude to her students. In addition to her attitude problem, she doesn't even teach. Never posts things online when she says she will, and she rarely responds to emails. I am an 'A' student & have had tough profs before, but she is terrible. Avoid!!
AVOID!! Talks double meaning, she is rude plus she tests on very HARD exams. Lots of homework. She explains nothing, right way starts with the problems. She believes we already know the concept before coming to the class
Her form of teaching is going thru slides and giving u class work wo teaching u how to do it midterm is case study and time will be your issue online final is exactly like connect but harder connect hwk work u should work with your friends. if u take her formatting is everything to her.
I usually dont write reviews but Laura really proved there are still good profs at KPU. Also, I dont get whats with all the negative feedbacks, 3120 is generally not an easy class. Seriously, if you dont pull your own weight and expect any 3rd4th year classes to be the same as 1st2nd year classes then you might just want to get a diploma instea
When I ask the solution and ask the questions by the e-mails, she always updated replies very slowly, especially before the exam, so anxious!!
When I ask the solution and ask the questions by the e-mails, she always updated replies very slowly, especially before the exam, so anxious!!
Yes, she does focus too much on administrative items, but she is passionate about Accounting and truly cares for her students. I do recommend taking her, but communicate with her often since she can have the occasion to mentions marking details quickly in passing.
Laura approaches ENTR 3120 understanding that most of us are not numbers people and are required to be there. I've taken this course before and that's the one thing I appreciated the most with her. Follow her recommendations on how to prep for tests and her instructions for projects to do well overall. She lays it all out for you.
Looks like she wrote all the positive comments herself. All i hear is "why u always lying, stop efn lying ooo why u lying," when she attempts to answer questions in class. This prof knows nothing without the answer guide, take it away and she is unable to teach. final is all cga questions. she can't even do them herself.
A majority of the lecture is spent on her telling us what to expect on an exam. Going over homework is her checking to see its completed, and just reading out what's on the projector. Unable to answer students questions if she can't find the answer in the solution guide. Unapproachable, a bit rude, homework she assigns differs greatly from exams.
By far the worst teacher I have ever had. Not helpful. Not respected by students.
Not respected to student ! And rude!! You will be regret if you take any course she teach!! Can't learn anything. Study by yourself is greater idea.
She'll roast you in front of the whole class if you don't do your homework. She gives way too many questions on the practice exam and there worth marks. The class in general is easy for anyone who is going to be an accountant.
Laura is a tough instructor. She demands your best, and will call you out in the middle of class if you give her anything less. Lots of homework! You are expected to do your homework before she teaches the concepts, then come to class to figure out the parts you don't understand. This isn't a complaint, it's a warning; Overall I enjoyed the class!
Rude, unempathetic tyrant. Enough said. Avoid at all costs. Take Catriona if you can.
She makes you do a higher level of difficulty than required. Gives too much homework than necessary. Gives easy questions in class and CGA level questions on exams. Wouldn't give me my overall percent for the course or for the final exam when i asked because she said it would be too "overwhelming" for her.
Tough prof, but fair. Make sure you do the work before class as she goes through the slides quickly. Lots of online homework due before class so you do need to prepare beforehand. She gives easy and normal level problems for homework with one or two CPA level questions on the practise final, but the midterms and finals have more difficult questions
why so much homework. i have other classes to study for but spend most of my time just doing her f-in homework. most of her students are not accounting majors but she fails almost everyone. average on midterms is 45 percent and alot of students in class are repeating the course.
If you are working i would recommend taking this class by itself. The sheer amount of homework will overwhelm anyone, most students are repeating this course. Additionally as the majority of students do not wish to be accountants, im not sure why the exams are set up super difficult, to the point where everyone fails her exams. Survival is the key.
The class itself, is a challenge and requires a lot of time and effort. That being said, Laura was a great prof. She was always very helpful when I didn't understand an accounting concept. She gives lots of practice questions in class that reaffirm the main concepts. I would take her again and recommend her to other students.
hardest class i have ever taken literally. MT1 isnt bad, but it gets harder around MT2 time because she drops a giant budet project on you. You must pass the budget project to pass the class (course presentation). The project is so big that u will not have time to study for MT2, which was harder than MT1. Felt like crying after the semester ended.
Horrible
Unrealistic workload expectations. Course needs to be re-evaluated/material needs to be distributed evenly over the course. More time on material in class/less on the test outline. I hope someone from the University reviews this course as the majority of students are unhappy and it makes it difficult to remain a good student & manage other courses.
she is really helpful
Gives a lot of homework that prepares you for the exams. The usual accounting grading system. she gives a hint for the exam. so it makes preparing for exams and test easier
No slacking in this class. Dallas is there for her students. There is a large homework and assignment load but she is there to help her students out. She does a through job reviewing what will be on the exams. If you study, and do the homework assignment you will do just fine.
Looks like they give anyone with a degree a teaching position. The course is very difficult in itself, and her "teaching" style does not help things. Goes over material way too quickly, as if students already know everything. Doesn't know how to talk to students and is rude and obnoxiously sarcastic for no reason. Do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY
want to fail class, take laura. She will tell you in the beginning that only a third of the class actually pass.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! She gives lots of homework and will embrass you in front of the class if you dont do it. She is rude and if you plan on taking her get ready to learn on your own because you certainly won't learn from her. The stuff she teaches you in class seems soo easily but wait till the exam, it is way different
Shes more into making fun of students and accusing them for why they dont understand anything when clearly its her teaching! She does too much sarcasm than teaching!Teaches only simple things that you can easily find out of the textbook but will put unlearned questions on exam! Please find another instructor or wait if she is only left to take!!!
For 13 classes we were assigned 38 homework assignments none of them being simple question types. All of the homework is due before the class so that she doesn't have to teach anything. When you have a question, she has to look up the answer and then argues with the textbook answer. This semester she took too many course on and has no office hours.
She basically expects you to teach all the material to yourself and her job is basically to hand out questions during class, then YOU have to do it on ur own & then pulls up the answers. WAY TOO MUCH WILEY HW- so expects you to read the chapters, do the wiley & have it all MASTERED before class so she doesn't have to teach it. Dont take her.
Laura is a good professor, she tells you exactly what is going to be on the exams and tests, only thing I wish she did differently was make her own notes. She does not have any handouts of any notes, only practice questions. So when you study all u have of class material is the practice questions. Need a lot of time to do her homework she gives alo
Laura is the best teacher for ACCT4720, since this is the last class for BBA Accounting, she always gives students a good grade to complete their degree.
she sets her students up for failure, her exams are nothing like what she teaches in class. She wants us to learn everything ourselves by giving us atleast 2-3 assignments per class. I have no time left to study because the assignments take atleast 12 hours each week. she doesnt do anything to help her students or give a good lecture. DONT TAKE HER
She will expect you to read the weekly chapters beforehand and she will only discuss the questions. With her, the course is mainly your own hardworking and she does help if you show willingness to ask for it. Choose her only as a last option.
Tough One! Beware
she comes to class unprepared, asking what she gave us for homework. she makes rude remarks throughout the class and replies back with sarcasm to every question asked. there is no point e-mailing her about a question because she will reply back and tell you to reread the notes. overall, be prepared to learn everything yourself.
not a professional person, forgets the h/w she gives us, is super rude and self obsessed, likes to embarrass the students, doesn't really feel like she wants to teach and doesn't put in the effort to teach. by far the worst prof at kpu.
she has a lot of knowledge for the course and that is the biggest problem. her questions are tricky in exams and straightforward in class. do not take class with her if you want pass this course.
she does not respect her students at all and walks around like she's a queen. do not take her, shes VERY LAZY. all the professors at kpu have a passion to teach and want to see their students succeed, BUT NOT HER. if you want to fail, take this class.
I REGRET TAKING THIS CLASS WITH HER!! she goes over super easy lectures, and puts questions on the exams that ive never seen before, she adds tricks in her exams to confuse us. shes not there for her students at all and for some reason she thinks shes above us all to the point she thinks she can put down her students in class.
This woman gives midterms with 20 multiple choice questions and atleast 8 written questions that take up a whole page, and we only have 2.5 hours to do it. It is so hard and tough and no one finishes on time so you are left with some questions blank. Its bad enough she makes them super tough. Someone needs to reevaluate this professor.
She puts CPA questions on the exam. I dont know why, were here to learn a third year class not get a CPA certificate. Honestly, stay away from her, she sets up her students for failure and overall shes not a very nice person. You will get no help from her, and be prepared to spend atleast 20 hours a week on this class.
She will give a huge lecture about professionalism and how students should be on time, but she never sticks to her own schedule, forgets things in her office, and promises us she will post grades by a certain time and never does.
Laura is an okay teacher. She is rude but is helpful if you go to her office hours. She doesn't give detailed feedback on cases you write. You have to put in a lot of work in this class, it is not an easy course. Most of this class is self learning as she does not teach much. I recommend her but mostly its on you!
Laura was a nice lady in general. She tried to motivate students to complete the homework and to be successful. The amount of homework was ridiculous, there is no way you can finish it all with other hard courses also. The course content is not overly hard although she does put CGA or CPA answers on the exams. Grass might not be greener elsewhere.
Good Prof
avoid.
lots of homework, exams are super hard, she teaches super easy exercises in class, and is super rude. avoid!!
Not a good professor. Never take her class.
I enjoyed 3320 with Laura. She did a flipped classroom style, where we would pre-read and do homework (with the key available), and in-class hours were spent on reinforcing it with exercises. It was a hard course, but Laura is a moderately easy grader for exams. You're still going to have to try, though.
Laura is in awful professor. Especially online. She doesn't give lectures or proper lessons for this course and is wasting everyones time and money. She won't take submissions by email stating it's too much bother. She asked for sympathy when she hurts herself but doesn't give any extensions to students when they need it. Do not take her class.
really "amazing" professor, tons of work need to do.
I think Laura has run a good class, the only real complaint I have is that a lot of homework is assigned, but it really helps reinforce the knowledge, and 3320 is a moderately complicated course. She is extremely helpful however, and responds to emails promptly and is kind.
Coming from someone who struggles with math, Laura is the best accounting prof I could have asked for. She has high expectations but if you put in the effort, she will help you succeed. Course is hard, but she gives you many opportunities to boost your grade with bonus assignments and practice tests. Highly recommend Laura.
Laura is a good professor even though there is more writing than average, but a guarantee for learning new stuff. No classes, only papers and in-class case analysis.
AVOID her and save yourself. Need to teach yourself everything as she isn't teaching in the class, just wasting our time! You need to solve a lot of an easy repetitive homework that you'll not see them in the exam!! Exams are TOUGH & UNREADABLE. You'll get high marks if you can get her questions from past students, otherwise you'll get bad results.
It's flipped style class, so if u want traditional classroom lecture, she's not 4 u.There are lots of homework but it actually helps u learn better, instead of listening to long lectures. She's flexible and allows u to earn extra marks to help your grades.U just need to manage your time,&if u do the exercises &understand them,u can answer the exam
Without warning, Laura made the class asynchronous which made it difficult to keep up with the material. Much of the course was outdated and tweaked over the semester. Laura's marking scheme is vague and at times random, making it difficult to get a good grade - this also applies to her instructions for assignments and the feedback she gives.
Don't take her in person, she is an extremely rude person. Her lecture problems and homework problems are average, but the exams are quite difficult. Honestly can't teach. If she put more effort in teaching and not being rude rather than trying to get students caught for cheating, she'd have much better ratings. Do Not Take. I'm warning you!!!
If you a woman, she ll talk down to you coz she insecure about her looks and age. If you are a dude, shell talk down to you because you remind her of her many ex husbands she always complains about. She comes to class wearing her pickleball outfit and gives us a lecture on proper way to dress in business.
Don't take her but if you must and she starts to become condescending, make a formal complaint to the dean's office and their union. She's way past her teaching shelf life and just mailing it in. You deserve better. Complain if you do not get the quality you are expecting.
Awful instructor. Wish I had a one year certificate and be an instructor.
