Tough but fair. Doesn't take BS and expects you to do your work and turn it in on time. Lectures are funny and you learn. Speeches are OK, tests can be hard but she reviews. Show up, turn in stuff and you should be fine.

Mrs. Dickinson's class is really easy if you attend class every day. Attendance is Mandatory; she isnt lenient either! If you r willing to be on time, take good notes, and follow exact guidlines for the speeches you will do fine. All quizes are based on Vocab only, and she gives you an exact format to follow for the speech. I got an A.

Ms. ****inson is a wonderful teacher! She's nice, funny, and helpful. Make sure when you do your outline, you follow the example outline exactly! It isn't necessary to go to class everyday because she takes attendance randomly. You better be there on Speech day though! Overall, great teacher and I would highly recommend!

Enjoyed the online course but some of the tests were tricky and the wording of the questions wasn't clear. There is a chance to make up these points through the speeches. Be sure to follow her outline format and you gain easy points.

Prepare to wear out your eyes reading the textbook if you want an A. This class isn't ridiculously hard, in the grand scheme of things, but it's much harder than a speech class should be. The instructor is good, but the class is demanding. Quizzes on each chapter, 4 major tests, several speeches, attendance grade.

Prof. Dickinson was extremely helpful, the course itself is what you make of it: it's not easy, but it can be a great enjoyment if you don't procrastinate on your speech preparation, course work, quizzes, studying for tests, etc. As long as you stay on top of your assignments, then you're good to go. I earned a C+ b/c I failed to follow my advice.

The professor clearly outlines throughout the semester what is expected of the students. There is no question about when assignments are due and if you ask for help, it will be provided. Discussions are engaging and fun. I would definitely take a course provided by her again.

Took over the summer. 3 outlines, 4 speeches (Impromptu, Informative, Special Occasion and Persuasion) Persuasion was the hardest out of all of them. If you want an A you definitely have to work for it, tons of quizzes but not too hard, 2 exams, 1 final (took me 2 hours) Sometimes takes a little while to put grades in but overall great professor.

I did not feel she was very good at feedback. The grading was a bit strict and so was attendance. She gives you until 7:45am on Sunday (Not the whole day to complete online assignments) I did pass the class but I don't think I would like to take her class again. She did offer extra credit .

I took her hybrid class, where you do 1 quiz per week, meet up once a month for speech, and final exam is online (most q are true/false). She is a tough speech grader so you must to work for an A, but you are guaranteed to pass even if you did not get the textbook.

But outside of the classroom, the work she gives is kinda heavy. The speeches are sometimes graded moderately hard, but if you make it interesting and put the effort. I don't see how you won't pass.

Good professor, knows what she is talking about and you can tell she really cares about students. Only negative I would say that she is very outspoken about her politically left ideals. To each their own, but in an intro to speech class its not necessary to talk about politics. If you're POV differs at all, keep it to yourself and out of speeches.

I had this professor for her online Speech Communications course. She was great. She was quick to answer and was always helpful. She can be slow to grade at times, but she tells you exactly what she wants. She's very strict on late work, too.

I would 100% take SPC1608 again, it was that enjoyable.

Initially, I thought this was going to be a difficult class and the teacher would grade strictly but she turned out to be very understanding and helpful! The only thing I dreaded was having 5 people as your audience but other than that she was a pretty good teacher.

Takes a while to grade. She is an extremely kind grader. You are bound to make an A if you follow her rubrics. Quizzes and tests are open note. Go to the zoom room and you will get extra credit for being there. She makes speech not so intimidating. B session was heavy, but it was nice to end quickly bc speech is stressful. Prof Dickinson is genuinely passionate about the subject she teaches, and you can tell she's very experienced. She was out of class for a bit for medical reasons but never took that out on us by rushing our work or giving us more work to do. She was not a harsh grader at all and provided wonderful feedback on assignments.

Amazing professor! Very lenient grader, however, late work is not accepted but there really isn't a lot of work at all. I would say get ahead on the speeches, especially the persuasion speech because the persuasion outline was due 3 weeks before the actual speech was.
