Very awesome teacher. Simple-going class and fun too. Teacher welcomes discussion. She's never harsh or mean. If you have any troubles or concerns, she'll take the time to try and help you out. It helps to read the book thoroughly, but the reading isn't difficult. Attend class everyday so you don't miss out on interesting stuff! Prof. G. is cool!
Woo-hoo! One of my favorite teachers. She makes the class fun, but in a way that does not go off-topic. It's all smiles with her. Take her! She's always nice. The class isn't very hard. Just go to class everyday and take notes and also use the book as reference. The class is fun and interesting, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Take her! =)
Way nice easy class a million handouts almost like ahigh school class she is funny nice and makes classs a breeze!!!
Professor G is a great teacher! This has been the one class that I actually look forward to going to. Found it very interesting and she makes it very easy to understand. Study the review sheet and you will do great
prof. makes the class interesting and can be really fun at times. workload is easy as well. she's also very nice. i highly recommend her.
Hands down the BEST professor at Miramar!!! Professor G is highly motivated and her enthusiasm can't help but rub off on you! Make sure you complete the study guide she gives out before each test and you will ace the exam, no problem. Not only is she very interesting, she has a great sense of humor and her class is always a lot of fun.
Professor Gonzalez really enjoys teaching the class and you can see her enthusiasm. As long as you do the study guide, you're set for the exam. The field trips are okay, and she gives good extra credit opps. Highly recommend her!
One of the best profs I've ever had at this school! She made anthropology interesting. I didn't expected that I would actually enjoy the class because I thought it might be boring. Tests are easy if you do the review sheet. Fieldtrips are fun. Turn in your homework on time and study for the tests, you will get an A. Highly recommended.
Loved this class. I actually looked forward to it. You can see the passion she has for it and it makes you excited about it. Zoo field trip was cool.. I would never usually go there. Review sheets were a big help, so just do 'em and get an A.
Very good teacher. I highly recomende her. Anthropology online was challenging, but she was very helpful and encouraging.
GREAT TEACHER!!! you really gotta fight till the end. I failed the first test and did better on the other tests. Halfway through the semester i was failing. she told me not to drop so i stayed. turns out she offers extra credit which i believe saved my D- to a final grade of an A. you may have to go to a few field trips but this class was great.
can't emphasize enough how amazing this teacher is. very passionate about what she does. tests are taken from the textbook & lecture, but mostly lecture. as long as you use the rvw worksheet to study for tests, then you should be fine: there won't be any questions in the exams that weren't in the rvw worksheet. lectures are NEVER boring!!!
Great professor! Motivated, hip and extremely helpful to those who ask. Very passionate about anthropology, all forms of it. Both classes are interesting, often fun. She has field experience and makes things easy to follow. Work is fair, keep track of deadlines. Do the exam study guides and take advantage of the extra credit! You might need it.
Excellent teacher.
i took her 101 and 102 class i highly recommend her. she's really chill about things and her study guides is what you really need to do. i'm telling you take her class for a great time learning and an easy A if you do the work
Prof G is awesome. I defientally reccomend her class. This is one of the only GE classes that Ive actually learned something about. She really loves what she does and she makes the class very interesting, it makes me want to go to class. She is vary fair and always tells exactlly what you are expected to know for the tests.Take her!!
She is cute, smart, and a good teacher. She is involved in a lot within this college. I recommend her for anth.
Professor G is amazing. She loves what she does and it comes out in her teaching. She makes the class exciting and she is funny! I highly recommend her!
Prof. G is one of the best professors I've ever had! She is extremely informed in her field and loves what she does. I would take any class she offered. The work isn't too difficult, she explains everything really well. You should even consider taking it as honors, I did and it was super interesting. Take her class, you won't regret it!
very nice lady but you have to pay attention to pass her class
Fantastic professor?great communication, clear expectations, easy to follow teaching style. I knew very little entering the class and left feeling encouraged.
Truly a great professor. Very understanding. Just do the work and the review guides and you should pass without a problem. Enjoyable lectures and she makes it interesting.
Uses powerpoint to assist in lectures, all exams are accompanied by in-class reviews the session before. Very active on campus so make appointments for meetings, etc. Assignments are not very difficult, just be sure to hand them in on time. Understanding to student condition, so make sure she understands why you're in her class, and she'll meet you
What a professor! She is doing her best to help the students to understand the subject. there will be one museum trip, one paper about 6 pages at the end and a few multiple choice quizzes. Take her and you will learn a lot, have a lot of fun and get an A.
Professor G is THE BEST professor ever! My whole fall schedule is around her one class :) She's an amazing person, cares about her students and wants them to do well. The material is crystal clear (all on power point). Her expectations are clear, follow the guidelines and you will get an A. Sign up for her Honors, its easy! Also, show up to class!
Best teacher at Miramar! Incredibly helpful and interesting!
Amazing teacher! shes passionate about teaching and helps in any way possible. She uses power point for her lectures. One final essay, three tests no final test. couple of article summaries. One field trip and extra credit is available. She has been the best teacher I have ever had. Read the books and look over power points.
Took online class, great teacher! Very easy if you read text book and online handouts. Replies email quickly and grades easily. Very helpful and accepts late submission.
Senora Gonzalez is incredible!!!! I only took bio anthro for a transfer credit and I cannot be more psyched that I took her class! Seriously, if you need this for transfer or for real anthropology, she is perfect! Very easy to understand her reasoning and great memorable information. Go to class and you will pass this. She is the BEST!!
I had absolutely no interest in this subject before taking her online class and I really enjoyed myself. Two field trips are assigned, one to the zoo and one to the Museum of Man, both in Balboa Park. Quizzes based on reading, 6 multiple choice and one essay. Eight reader summaries due throughout the semester. 4% extra credit possible. Very clear!
I took both her Physical and Biological Anthropology classes and loved them! She is an amazing teacher whose passion for Anthropology shines through in her teaching style. Lots of work including field trips, article summaries, quizzes and tests, but if you do the work then there should be no problems.
Funnest teacher!
This professor is one of the best online professors I have had. I take a lot of online classes and she made this course a piece of cake. I really didn't have that much of an interest in this course, but she really made me enjoy everything and I now have more knowledge of human origin! Yay! I definitely recommend her!
Took her online. Her exams are 6 multiple choice questions & one short essay every week. Fair grader. Responds back to emails. She has alot of passion for anthropology. Take her and you'll learn a lot without even realizing it!
Took online, easy A!
We need more teachers like her. She's so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her field of study. If you want to learn about the origins of our mankind then she's the perfect professor. All of her assignments allow you to exercise what you know and encourage critical thinking about the issues at hand. I HIGHLY recommend her class!
THE BEST PROFESSOR AT MIRAMAR! I learned so much from her, for she always makes the class interesting. The homework load is fair, and preparing for the 3 exams is easy. She provides lots of extra credit and you go on two field trips. Being in her class is by far my favorite part of my Miramar stay, and I'm going to miss her when I leave the school.
Gonzalez is so passionate about Anthropology she makes you become that much more interested in learning. She's really funny and her lectures are always engaging. If you complete your assignments and come to the test review days, theres no way you won't get an A. Hands down one of the best professors at Miramar.
At first, I felt like there was busy work. For a college class, it is reasonable, and she is a very nice teacher. Read the chapters and take quizzes right after. Other than that, it is not hard class. She makes it interesting and cares for her students. Oh, I took this fully online as well, so I am not sure about in-class.
Gonzalez is an overall good professor, and this class is a great alternative to bio. If you do all the assignments and study adequately for her tests you should have no problem getting an A in this class. A lot of people love her personality but I somewhat feel like she speaks to her students like middle schoolers. Extra credit opportunities too
She is one of the best people I have ever met, much less one of the best professors! she cares about her students and she will work with them to help them pass the class. The class was really interesting and there are two field trips! I wish she taught more sections! Anthropology is so interesting!
She's a great person and she is honestly one of the funniest professors. Her assignments do require you to read and write a good amount but she's an easy grader. She reviews EVERYTHING you need to know for the tests. You can miss classes because her lectures and test review are posted, but go for her class
one of the best professors at miramar! sincerely cares about students.
One of the best professors ever because she guides you throughout the semester and is very clear about the assignments/deadlines. She is so caring and informative. I took this class online and was surprised how much work there was but that is besides the fact that she was awesome! I learned a lot of material and would take it again!!!!
Easily one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very helpful and her class is very interesting. The workload is not too easy or too hard and you can tell she really cares about her students. I would recommend this class to anyone who is thinking about taking it. She inspired me to pick Anthropology as my major.
If you take this class online thinking it will save you some time, don't take it! She gives too much homework and is a tough grader. She is clear on what she wants, but for a simple and easy class like this, the amount of homework is ridiculous! Oh, and her tests has a "short answer" question which I had no idea what she grades them based on!
Professor Gonzalez is cool af. I really loved her class. Great combination of in class lectures, presentations, group work, reading material and interesting films she shows. She's one of those teachers you'll remember forever and one of the classes that isn't a drag attending. Not to mention she's totally nerdy and rad in general.
took her for physical anthropology. great teacher. there's a combination of homework and assignments to go along with three tests. she offers extra credit and if you talk to her, she will most definitely help you. her class is one of the most interesting and fun college classes i have ever taken. i looked forward going to this class.
Fun and out-going, the teacher every teacher should strive to be a little like. a must have teacher at least once.
This professor is awesome! She always sends emails about events to attend, some are anthropology related, others are just interesting! I've taken 102 and 103 online with here. There's a fair amount of homework to do, but she doesn't require a crazy amount of work for them. As long as you specifically answer her questions, you'll get full credit!
Professor Gonzalez is amazing, I wish all teachers were like her. The lextures are interesting, feild trip projects are fun, not much homework, and her study guides are amazingly helpful. She's passionate about Anthropolgy and overall a genuine person. I most definitely reccomend this class! :)
Expect to laugh every day. Professor Gonzalez gives you such a different perspective to anthro and anyone who took her knows what I mean. She's helpful to students, easy (3) exams, a couple textbooks assignments, and literally a blast to be in class! Easy passing grade. Highly recommended!
Best professor ever.
Professor Gonzalez is an amazing professor she really cares about her students she tells you exactly what you need to do to pass the class so long as you show up and do everything she asks for she asks for a few article summaries 5 total which are really easy You have a museum assignment overall amazing professor definitely recommend you take her.
Took both cultural and physical anthro with Professor G. She's a great lecturer and really makes the class fun. I would look forward to class sessions if anything. She thoroughly covers the material that'll be on any tests throughout the year and always has huge review sessions before every test. Easy A and an interesting class all in one here.
I took Laura's class last semester and I have to say what an AMAZING teacher she is. She is definitely one of the most passionate, inspiring teachers I have ever had. She will assist you with any help you need on homework, is more than happy to take the time to talk to you about the grades you received, and the course load isn't overwhelming.
Very passionate and involved in the subject. Makes everything super interesting and gets the whole class involved in discussion. An overall great learned experience
Professor Gonzalez is one of the best professors that I've ever had at Miramar College. She is passionate about Anthropology and makes class really fun and interesting. There are only three exams in this class and two field trips. She gives extra credit opportunities to improve your grades. I would take another class with her in the future
Shes an amazing person. A very caring instructor who goes above and beyond for her students. If you put effort into studying for the 3 tests you will get an A in the class.
Interesting class and Professor G is helpful, organized and obviously passionate about the subject of Anthropology. Lots of personal application is possible with this class. Really enjoyable!
Great professor. There is a lot of work but it is not that bad. Make sure to keep up and not procrastinate because the assignments tend to pile up.
Great professor! Clear expectations. Reasonable though 6-7 writing essays or responses to articles. 3 Exams + attend museum. Offer extra credit. Come to class you'll receive participation points. Interesting lectures. Would take her again!
Truly love people and her job! I wish we had more people like her.
Love the way she teach, fun and easy to understand.
Professor Gonzalez is caring and hilarious. I have absolutely no interest in anthropology but she makes learning it exceedingly fun. She has review questions for her exams, review days, and has two field trip assignments including a zoo field trip. She also gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit and has a clear grading scale.
Wonderful person, I am really glad I took her class. She really wants the best for her students, and available if you have any question.
Professor G is an amazing teacher! She responds to emails very quickly and is very respectful of her students. She wants you to succeed! I hope to take another one of her classes, prof G is the best!
It has too much homework, assignment and test. If u take her class u even don't have time to scratch your head for one semester. I don't recommend her at all.
I don't recommend her at all. She is very strict. The worst class that I have had in college.
Avoid! She doesn't teach u anything for the online classes but she expects u alot. I never have had a professor like her. U must write a lot besid that the tests are really hard. Don't take her class
Prof. Gonzalez is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her lectures are interesting, she if funny, and the HW is very straightforward. Her tests are not bad, and she gives a review sheet that tells you exactly what will be on the exam. Also the class before the exam we have a review session in class! Also there are two field trips! So fun!
I dont know about in class, I just dont recommend her online class at all. Its really hard. Too much homework. 11 exams include 7 questions which for one question u have to write a paragraph and the time is just 30 minuets. Besides this hard tests there are many papers and discussions that u have to do. Horrible experience
Gonzales is the best professor I have ever had in college! She is very caring and takes time to explain everything in class to make sure that no one is left confused. You dont need to read the textbook to do well in this class, however using it on some questions in the study guide will help. Make sure to complete the study guides for an A!!
I took professor Gonzalez for Anthropology 102. She is a nice, caring lady. Two field trips. I highly recommend her and I would take her again if I had the opportunity
She is an amazing professor; she always gives positive feedback on writing assignments and puts all important info on blackboard so you can prepare for exams, which are multiple choice and short writing prompt based. It's easy to get an A but very interesting course nonetheless. She's also hilarious!
One of the best professors I've ever had. We had two cool field trips that were mandatory for a grade but the zoo was free and the museum was cheaper if you went with the class. Tests are easy and lectures are interesting. XC offered. She's knowledgeable about Anthropology and evidently passionate about it. She cared about students a lot, too.
Professor Gonzalez is by far one of the greatest teachers ever. She cares about her students and the class and homework are an easy A as long as you stay on top the class and are present. She's funny and overall one of the finest professors at Miramar. Take her if you ever get the chance.
Professor Gonzalez is one of the most caring professors at Miramar. She really cares about her students and wants you to do good. Honestly, just show up to class and put in a bit of effort on assignments and you're guaranteed an A. I took both her Anthro 102 & 103 class and I wish she taught more classes. Shes hilarious and genuinely enjoys her job
Prof G is an exceptional professor on Miramar. She is always positive during classes and makes lectures very fun. ANTH102 is not a difficult class, but you will have to do some studying and make sure you do all homework items and complete the study guide. Prof G also cares a lot about the students, and is one of the most approachable professors.
Amazing instructor---Very passionate and interesting lectures! So funny and smart! The best instructor I've ever had! No hyperbole!
The best Anthropology class Ive taken. Super fun assignments about examining our own culture. Loved them, and looked forward to doing them. The text Nisa was super fascinating to read and write about. Easy quizzes. Gonzalez herself was a wonderful and knowledgeable instructor. Super kind with every interaction. All around a great experience!
Prof. Gonzales truly loves Anthropology and her students. She makes class fun and really tries to ensure that everyone gets an A. There were homework assignments, two trips (museum/zoo), and three tests. Lectures are never dull and she tries to keep students updated with campus-related events. She is also the LGBTQ+ club advisor which is cool.
Professor G is amazing. She is easy to talk to, really cares about her students, and very passionate about her field. If you participate and do the assignments you will get an easy A. For an online class she is so easy to get in touch with and gives feedback and grades in a timely matter. Everyone take her class!
She is a very good teacher! there is a decent amount of work she gives. There is class discussions once a week. She makes videos for us to better understand her chapters. I would definitely recommend her class to anyone that needs to take anthropology!
I took ANTH103 online with Professor Gonzalez and there were no meeting times, just recorded videos and textbook readings. We have one animated book to read which you can finish in 30 mins to an hour. If you happen to turn in a couple of assignments a few days late, she won't mark off. Overall, a very easy class and very sweet person!
I loved this class. Professor Gonzalez was super helpful and very kind. She answered every question that I had about the course and I would 100% take her again.
I love Prof. Gonzalez!! Her video lectures are great and I enjoyed meeting her in person on our zoo field trip. The assignments and tests are easy as long as you read the textbook. Discussions were engaging and a lot of the information was actually really cool to learn about. She's really lenient on late work too. Take her if you can!!
By far one of the best professors I have ever had. I would heavily recommend attending the lectures even if they aren't technically mandatory because I build a greater relationship with her and you get a better grasp of what the course is about. Class discussions in person were very fun and enjoyable, unlike the online ones.
Best professor I have had so far! She really cares about what she is teaching and the subject matter is very interesting. The only gripe I have is some of the lessons become very political and seem to follow a very liberal narrative. Other than that, I would take her a thousand times over if I could.
This class was a fantastic experience. It was an 8-week course, and I could learn and engage with my assignments. The class consists of lecture videos, commenting on articles, discussion boards, and quizzes and tests. Overall it was pretty easy, and I completed my assignments for the week in two days, which was pretty straightforward.
This class was manageable for an 8 week pace because the format makes it easy to learn. There are NO final exams, just a couple projects and papers. Super lenient with late work, she does not deduct points. Her lectures are helpful because she provides examples and photos. You will pass this class as long as you do the work!
Actual goat teacher. Subject matter was very interesting and she is super lenient with grading. You can turn in any work late for full credit at any point. Lots of effort and love clearly put into her course, if you can take her I would 10/10 recommend it!
Professor Gonzalez is a great teacher. She does more than simply teach material pertaining to the class, she puts interest into each student to care about anthropology. When I took her class, we took a field trip to the zoo and observed certain primates (this was back in Spring of 2019).
An incredibly understanding & passionate teacher. I took her 8wk class, and it was a lot of different assignments, though they were all useful for understanding the content. She requires a fair amount of writing (each quiz has a short answer section), but she's an easy grader. She lets you turn in work at any point, up until the end of the class.
By far the best professor I've ever had! Super lenient with late work and the online class was really flexible. She's really understanding, caring, clear, organized, and I learned a lot without being overwhelmed or stressed. The only thing I didn't like was paying $8 for a video but other than that, this class was a breeze. Take it if you can!
First of all: very kind and understanding towards your personal situation, if anything is going on. She accepts late work for all students for this very reason. Open-book tests and a discussion-heavy class, it is easy. Professor is very engaged with her students and informed in her field, making the class very informational for us.
Literally all late work is accepted. Quizzes are literally control+f the textbook answers. Genuinely impossible to not get an A. Met her in person too, very nice professor. Took her for Honors as well and it was really easy and flexible. Modules can be completed in a sitting, yet I still learned a lot from the class.
"hyper liberal wokie. Her class propagates the myths of; a gender pay gap, that sex and gender are different, that 'white privilege' is real and that systematic racism is everywhere. Stated that she was not able to define the word normal." whoever wrote this should feel very embarrassed
if you need to get your gen ed out of the way def take her! but if you want to learn anthro or need it for your major I,d take a harder prof. The class is composed of a quiz, discussion, article, reflection, and 2 presentations. She grades all of these easily and the quizzes can be re-done as many times as you'd like.
I believe this professor is so outstanding. She's very talented and hilarious rather than strict. She gave us two options when it comes to her lectures, whether we can watch her lecture videos, or read her lecture slides that were on her lecture videos. Her forum assignments were good and easy.
The best learning experience is coupled with engaging and interesting stuff that pertains to human culture. Professor G. teaches it in a new, more immersive and engaging way that makes it a good experience. She wants you to get the grade and get the material and it shows.
Such an awesome professor. Super engaging lectures and group work like discussions and module questions. Weekly homework is manageable, 2-3 assignments a week due on Sundays. She's very passionate about anthropology and really inspires her students. Such a well respected individual and makes class fun and interesting for everybody. Take her!
Super sweet professor and wants students to succeed. She allows you to redo assignments and turn in late work for full credit all the way to the end of the semester. Very generous grader and teaches interesting content. The only thing is I felt like there were a ton of assignments some weeks but overall great class!
Great professor! You have a few class discussions, videos, and projects to do. A good portion of the work is reading a textbook and answering multiple-choice quizzes. Prof Gonzalez always gives personalized feedback, is willing to re-grade work if you make improvements, and accepts late work with no penalty. If you need anthro, take her!
The professor is amazing. She will respond to emails fast. She is very understanding and makes sure you learn and understand the material. You will learn a lot
Very nice and caring professor. She gives you plenty of time to work through assignments. Take her!! You won't regret it.
Professor Gonzalez is extremely understanding and accommodating. Assignments are manageable, and she accepts late work without penalty. unstuck study was very helpful for exam prep. Overall, a great class to take.
loved having her as a professor. She made the material fun and you can tell that she is truly very interested in her profession, however she weaved gender and sexual identity into every lecture and class in general. I want to learn about anthropology, thats why I took the class. If I want to learn about gender, I would have taken a class for that.
One of the easiest classes out there. Accepts late work if life gets in the way. Very few projects in the class. Everything is laid out well organized. In terms of workload, it's quite small and can be done practically at your own pace. Definitely take this class if you want to knock out your GE classes or are also interested in anthropology.
Professor Gonzalez is one of those professors that you will never forget due to her patience and empathy, and her lectures were fun to listen to. Her assignments are very thoughtful and fun. We even had a school field trip to the school which was an incredible experience due to the hands on learning. She made me view primates in a different way!
One of the best and easiest online class experiences I've had so far! Assignments are well-organized and easy to do. Her lectures and all the materials she gives are small and simple to follow through. She accepts late work with no penalty and understands that life can sometimes get in the way. She responds quickly and gives great feedback!
