I had Ms. Graff for two semesters and I loved her class. Some might complain that she's unapproachable/sarcastic but she puts aside time at the beginning of each class to answer questions, so she expects you to know the material. In my 1B class she even repeated two test when 1/2 the class failed to make sure everyone understood the material.

Why would anyone be afraid to ask questions? She spends more than half the class answering homework questions. She even tells us that our questions are what set the pace of the class. What a bunch on whining idiots

Professor Graff is AWESOME! There is a lot of homework required for this class (but then again, it is CALCULUS!!!), but if you do your homework, you'll do fine. She is a very fair teacher,and I would recommend anyone to take her class.

Laura Graff is an amazing teacher! She is the best math teacher at college of the desert. All the others seem like hard-ass robots. I should know cuz i took them all. Sure she gives a lot of homework but she goes over all of it in class. If you're looking for a fun and helpful math teacher then take one of Laura Graff's math classes.

I took Professor Graff a couple years ago. I graduate this June at CSUSB in business. She is, by FAR, the best Professor I have had in my entire college career. She has changed my perspective of mathematics and science in general. I am even thinking about changing my major to math because of her. Thank you Professor Graff! TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

I have had a lot of math teachers and she is probably the best. She is very clear and very fair. If you aren't prepared to work, don't take her, but if you are prepared to work, You will learn a lot!!

Excellent math teacher! If you're nervous about math, take her. She explains things really well, is patient and thorough, and very personable and funny. Lots of homework, but if you do the work, you'll have no trouble getting an A. Great professor overall. Take her!

Straight up teacher! Math is a challenge for me, I mean BIG challenge and this teacher clarifies everything. She is very organized and turns a dull pencil into a sharp sword. Great class, useful math that has real world applications!

VERY NICE. She goes through things very fast, so if you need help, just ask her and she'll explain it further. HW is easy, except you have to outline EVERY section she assigns to you, which is a pain. BUT sometimes, when your folder is due on each test day, she'll give everyone an A on it. Some days, she's "SICK" too. :)

Never was I interested in math. Graff not only made it interesting,but related it to real life. Words cannot express how much I appreciate her,not only as a past professor,but as support in furthering my education. She truely cares for her students & goes above & beyond to assure success. If you want to pass math, take this teacher! She's funny and approachable. She really cares about her students, and the work is pretty easy if you keep up.

Laura Graff was a great teacher. she made the class fun. she gave alot of homework online and from the book. each test you were required to turn in a notebook and that was the only thing i disliked about her class. i definitely reccommend her class to everyone.

She was really good, I learned a lot from her class. She grades tests better than fair which helps a lot. Also the notebooks are an easy A if you do the homework. I like how she teaches with the pace of the class, if we're not understanding something she would spend more time on it until we understood the topic. =)

laura graff is honestly the best math professor I have had at COD and I've had 5. She is extremely helpful and really wants You to succeed. Best of all she teaches, and doesn't try to show you how smart she is.

Great personality,great teaching,and while others say she has a attitude i see the only reason is because SHE CARES.I DESPISE the notebook because i learn more focusing on specific problems then being forced to do all the sets.Make HW optional for A/B students so we can focus on improving our weak areas!

I had failed Math40 three times prior to having Prof. Graff. I finally understand the concepts and subject matter, thanks to her methods and dedication to her students. She is very fair and understanding of life circumstances. Thank you, Professor Graff! I'll see you in Math10!

I had her for pre-calculus. She gives a good chunk of homework. But I think her tests were really easy and she was always willing to help, plus I think she made math fun. She was also making us laugh and if she knew you were never going to see that section of math or it was easy enough teach yourself, she would never waste your time.

I took her last semester and she was a great teacher! Dumbs it down so everyone can understand. Very helpful. Assigned a lot of HW and outlines but it was all very helpful. Im going to try to take her for calculus.

I have never felt so connected to a teacher as I do to her. She sees all of us as people. She gets it that we have real world lives, but keeps her expectations high. Somehow it balances and you want to please her.

She is a great person, and more importantly a great instructor. She has patience, and is willing to go over anything that needs clarification. Just treat her class with respect and you will do just fine.

I took this class online with some apprehension because i had heard it was a difficult class even though i am good with math. It was difficult at times, but with the help of the CD(that comes with the book) and the professor and the similar questions button, i got though with a good grade.

She is so good I tried to take this class twice before but the teachers mumbled and kept going when no none was listening. She even makes it fun so everyone is paying attention. I'm taking her from now on for all my math classes.

Even though she is very very good, she debt easy. She teaches you how to learn. I hated having to do those outlines, but I stii do them now in other difficult classes. She's my best teacher in college so far, buy not the easiest.

Graff is a great math teacher. Math scares the hell out of me and I am not very good at it, but she makes it easy to understand and is super helpful. Her attendance isn't very good but she is always sending update emails. The outlines take some time but they are worth doing and easy points. Laura is a fantastic teacher! She explains why you would even need to know the math, shows an example in the simplest terms, than teaches the subject. "THE BINDER" is very important to rack up points. She is very flexible, & teaches from the book. Also she does miss class due to her condition, but you are taking the class NOT the teacher.

Very helpful! I had her for math 54 also and I got an A in her class. I'm not a math person either. She's good at what she does and she gives you a lot of credit for your exams. She gives a fair amount of hw as long as you keep up and do it. I recommend Graff :)

Really cool down to earth professor. She drops 1 out of 4 tests which helps the majority of people get better grades. Make sure to do the binder for tests. Easy points to rack up (or miss). Good amount of MML to be done daily, as with any math class nowadays.

Prof. Graff is a cool cat. Math005 is a difficult subject, people are going to drop. BE ON TIME THE FIRST DAY, ask questions if you need it (she might mock you a little but it's all in good fun, don't be a baby). Tests are never a surprise, study hard, do the HW, show up as much as possible and you'll pass. fair grader and clear expectations.

Proffessor Graff is an outstanding teacher! her lectures are never boring and she gets the point across. Its an easy class if you study and do homework on time.

Miss Graff is a bit different, but towards the end shes okay! in the beginning of the semester, I did not care for her very much, but its changed a bit, not much! grades are not given, so you never know where you stand, lots of homework, she has her fits when she gets upset, can be unprofessional at times, but over all shes a good teacher!

It's a great class if you want to move in a fast pace, she skips steps in doing the work and that's when it gets confusing. You get tons of homework from the book and online. I had to make my own time to do the lab work in her class because she just wanted class for lecture. I did learn, but it wasn't easy one bit but overall great professor.

Take her Math 10 during summer school. You will not regret it!

When our semester began, I was in a sheer panic. I thought, "Oh no, what did I sign up for?!" I'm excited to say I was wrong about her, she makes sure all exam content is discussed prior to any examination. She gives "free" points sometimes for (more or less) just showing up. She's funny and a bit quirky, which made for a stress-free summer!

Graph is one SMART professor. She assigns homework everyday for you to practice and you can put the problems you had troubled with on the board at the beginning of class so she can review it in class. Her tests are based off the homework so if you do your homework you wont struggle in the class. I loved how she teaches. My favorite math professor.

Professor Graff is an amazing professor! She does not use mymathlab, prefers her students to write the homework out, and sometimes turn it in. Her quizzes are random and are basically a question or two from the homework she assigns. She will drop major hints on what will be on the exams. I am sad that I will not have her for math 1a :(

Her teaching is going over the concepts, the theory behind it, and then applying it to problems. Do expect HW everyday. She also did workshops for her students which was one reason why I did well in Calc. Her exams aren't too difficult to take if you studied for it. My favorite Prof. so far in the math dept. Ended with a B in both of her classes.

Glad I got into her class. I was in someone else's class and hating it and then her class opened. A bunch of people from my other class switched and I'm glad I did because her class is still full and that other teacher only has about 10 people left. She's good at explaining things and she knows everyone's name in a few days. I like the class.

She is the most amazing math professor!!! I highly recommend you take her class. Do expect homework everyday but it's really easy because she teaches the material very well. Quizzes are often as well but if you do everything you'll finish them quickly! Finals are pretty much same as a quiz so just keep it up.

Graff is a great professor that wants only the best for her students and takes the time to make sure you get the material. She even gives many opportunities to receive extra credit. You have to work for it, like with everything else. So, don't expect to pass if you don't try to learn. Don't blame the professor for your problems. Highly recommended!

Excellent professor. She is very matter-of-fact and tailors classes to your major; extra (optional) sessions offered for math majors (proofings etc) while adding the time that would be spent on those more sideline subjects (that are definitely still important for majors!) making sure the whole class is clear on the fundamental coursework at hand.

I had her for math40 she's honestly one of the best professors i've had so far in COD. She teaches in a great way that will make you understand math. She will help you if you ask, really difficult tests but absolutely worth taking her class. A lot of bookwork and online labs but thats your typical math class.

Great Professor! Took her for Math 54 and ready to take her class for Math 40. Really good on explaining thing through. I found that most students that complained of not passing her class was because they were to busy talking in class and not paying attention. You must attend to all her classes to avoid falling behind. Easy A if you do the work!!!

Graff is pretty awesome. I've taken her twice, got an A both classes. She does give a bunch of homework, but that's where you really learn the material--practice makes perfect. She's a fair grader and goes out of her way to help you out, if you seek her help. Go to office hours! Even if you hate math, she can change your mind. She changed mine.

THE BEST MATH teacher on Campus! she is not only great at explaining everything but she actually cares about her students! she is an outstanding professor! Best math teacher I have ever had. I was told to take Graff and I'm glad I was because she kept tract of everyone and made sure everyone did their homework or she sent a "nastygram" to tell you your homework score was hurting your grade. Lots of group work to get ready for the tests. I recommend her, if you can get in.

She did a lot of stuff to give everyone a chance to pass. If anyone stayed in the class and didn't pass, you can't blame her. If you got an A on all the tests she didn't make you take the final. Nice reward.

Test are based on homework, no surprises just review hw before tests. Hw and outlines count almost as much as a test grade so there is your opportunity for a better grade if you suck at test taking. Probably my favorite prof. at COD. I was dreading math, I was not good at it in HS, but Graff made me enjoy it. I looked forward to her class, doing the problems and getting them right (thanks to her) was very fulfilling and even fun. Lots of HW but that is how I learned. If you do all the HW, then the tests should be fine. She wants you to pass!

I wish I had teachers like her before, I never knew math could be so interesting. I like that she shows an interest in all of her students and bothers to learn our names. I feel like it matters to her who I am and where I am going.

Math has always been a difficult subject for me but she makes a huge effort to assure everything is clear and understandable. I wish I had her for all my math classes from 8th grade to now! She assigns homework daily but it really isn't difficult. If you get anything lower than an 86% you are honestly not trying.

Graff was an incredible teacher. The class was not easy as there was a lot of homework but she was incredible at making the class understandable. She taught so well that I found the class easy. She truly cares about her students success and I would love the opportunity to take her again.

Awesome professor, very informative with lectures. Makes formulas easy to understand. Easily annoyed if not paying attention &/or weren't ready for lecture. High expectations on reading the book before lecture. The homework is considered the quiz & gives 4 attempts. Paper due at the end of the semester with multiple assignments required for it.

Pay attention, ask questions and do your work! Professor Graff knows what she's talking about. If you don't understand, ask questions during lecture or she is available during her office hours. You get 4 chances for HW, exams are timed, and you have a final paper at the end of the semester which some of the HW is for that final paper!

Her lectures are good and she shows PowerPoints. If she is teaching the same type of class multiple types a week you can also join those meetings, not just the one you signed up. There are 2 office hours a week sometimes she will add more. You get one hw per week but once further into the semester, you will submit small parts of your final paper.

Math has never ever been a friend of mine so taking stats worried me. But having Professor Graff really helped me. If you need the help she is quite accessible through email or zoom appointment. If you do your work, study, and immerse yourself in the subject you will do fine.

Professor Graff was the best teacher I've ever known. She made this course easy to understand, and she is always available when you have questions. The quizzes are unlimited and four attempts which make you learn from your mistakes. I really like how she set up her online class. She is kind and respectful! I would take more classes with her!

She had a condescending tone at the start of the semester, but she appeared to have made up for it by apologizing, extending due dates, making zoom sessions with students, and even making some assignments optional. There are discussions that lead up to your final paper, so it ended up being pretty easy and laid-back.

One of my best teachers. She did have high expectations but she was willing to meet all the time and help with anything. She has a video for how to do everything and explaining everything. She breaks up the research paper into pieces and has a video for every piece and papers to show how. Its hard not to get an A unles you just dont do anything

Amazing Professor. lectures are on power points and mandatory to watch otherwise, you'll fall behind. Her calendar offers times to meet w/her personally or accommodate additional hours. Be ready to read, follow instructions, watch power points, take extra credit assignments, take book notes to pass her class otherwise this class won't work for you.

Great professor! Engaging lectures and office hours are super helpful. Textbook is a must, but unstuck study was a game-changer for study prep. Definitely take this class if you can.
