REALLY GOOD!! she is relly good the material is not so easy, fcourse its psych, but she has an excellent way of teaching and she makes an effort for you to learn. f you have to take this class and you want to learn without going crazy take her.She is cool

Great teacher,she has a real connection with her students.She is very organized and clear about what she expects.She makes psychology fun(if that is possible).Not an easy class in that you do have to study for an A, but this is college you know.

One of the most soft-spoken professors, but the woman knows her stuff. She's a clinical psychologist and ties in a lot of the material with examples from her patients and herself. Makes psych as interesting as it can get, and there's no homework.

An awsome teacher and all around person. she gets alot of her questions from the recomended online pre and post tests for every hapter so on the test the questions look familiar. 5 test and you drop the lowest one. extra credit availible(you meditate). Interesting and actively involves you.

Dr. Guild is such a good teacher. She explains everything clearly and she teaches completely out of the book so it's easy to follow. Of course, you have to put in some time to read but it's so worth it. If you really want an A though, do the online work. I guarantee you'll get it.

shes unclear as to what is expected. its weirdly not easy. the tests are unpredictable. she tells u to read the book, but even if you do theres stuff that just comes outta her ***. its an easy class but you need to read and pay attention to everything she talks about.

The class was fun and interesting, but the way she grades is kind of off. She is somewhat unclear as to what she wants us to know and uses the test bank questions in the book, making the lectures kind of useless when it comes to grading. She is very sweet, but this class is very rigid when it comes to grading.

She was a great teacher, and was very fun. Her class was easy, you just have to read the book and do the online tests and work..she is so nice!

She is such a sweet, nice lady. I dont kno what eveyone else was saying but she rarely spoke about her own life and I did find her class very intersting. The stuff you will learn is just good to know for future reference. Also, her tests are pretty easy and the lectures are clear.

This is my honest opinion of this class and teacher: Guild's a sweet woman. Her class is an easy B, easy A as well. I got an A in the class by simply reading the text. There are 4 tests, 1 final. She drops the lowest score of the 4 tests. Group presentations are cake, don't worry about them. You WON'T regret taking this. Very easy to understand. :)

Guild is a stylin' little lady. So sweet. I got an A in her class, but only because I read every chapter and took notes on them at home. She's very clear as to what you should study for exams, so no surprises. The only way you will not get a good grade is by not studying. Likewise, the only way to get a good grade is to study. 2hrs/week and ur set.

The class seemed hard at first, but it really wasn't. Read the book, take good notes on her discussions, and study the material for at least one week (you'll know understand in that time frame). Class presentations are not hard, be picky of whom you choose to be in your group. Study and limit the absences (she won't notice)

This teacher was so much fun and relaxed she was down to earth enough to go out and have lunch at the clock tower ith students and gave views on current movies and up to date issues. She was open and always had an open door for students. Although her tests are all on the book her lecutures are fun class and experience oriented...Super fun class!!!

This was not a hard class at all. She is a great professor. The only challenge is you have a lot of new information coming your way. If you know the reading material you will do well on the test, they are all multiple choice.

She's a great teacher who is willing to take time out of her day to listen to what her students have to say she's great so im taking her again for Psych 1

Great professor, intelligent, articulate, and has been a practicing psychologist for years. I always looked forward to going to her class because she uses class time for discussions. Tests are on the content in the book so you better read the book on your own. This class should be mandatory for anyone who wants to get married or have a family.

Lectures are pretty interesting but not that creative. Drops the lowest score of the exams and offers a little bit of extra credit with a few group assignments. Not a hard class but you do have to work a bit and study for the exams. The multiple choice questions are a bit tricky. She's nice though.

Amazing personality. Very warm and kind. You wish her to be your therapist. She makes you want to be in her lectures. Lotsa group discussions and presentations but all worth it. fun, fun, fun.

Wonderful teacher! Easy class format; you technically could get away with not going to class & just reading from the book but you miss so much additional information that Guild gives you. She knows her stuff & always makes sure she's giving information clearly. I 100% recommend taking her.

By far, the best class I've had! Warning to those considering taking Psychology in the winter: it's a lot of material to cover in six weeks. One chapter per day, consisting of 20 to 40+ pages. If you read, you're guaranteed an A. Prof. Guild is clear and concise and her tests are easy if you take good notes and ACTIVELY read.

This teacher is well organized and she is warm, charming and caring. She teaches well and have laid back personality. Herself is a family therepist, so she really knows her stuff, but you have to study hard to get an A. You will learn a lot from her wonderful class

She is definitely one of the best teachers. She gives 2 ex.credits for 10 points! Can bump your grade up so much. Her tests are okay, but you have to do the reading. She is always willing to help you and has a smile on her face. The only con about her class is her voice is so soothing sometimes it can make you SUPER sleepy..

She is a total sweetheart. Has some pretty interesting lectures, though they are strait out of the book. The tests can be a little tricky, but they are reasonable as long as you study hard. A lot of work for a 6 week course! I recommend though, she's a good teacher.

One of the best psychology professors at SMC!! 4 m/c tests,(lowest is dropped), 2 group presentation (ok, even though I am terrified of public speaking), and a paper on parenting. She is fair in her grading. Her lectures are discussion driven but you definitely learn. I recommend!! I got B+ on my tests and still got an A in the class.

loved this class! took the summer session, so it was intense test every week pretty much. 3 group presentations (15 points each) 4 multiple choice tests (drop lowest score) multiple choice 100 point final and an extra credit paper. she's a sweetheart n kinda funny. got an a in the class but i studied for it. would HIGHLY recommend her and her class

Amazing teacher! Very helpful, organized, and extremely interesting. I had no interested in psychology until I took this class. She makes the class fun with presentations, group work, videos, experiments. I would take her again and probably will. I highly recomend her!!!

Great teacher. I took her for the Summer 2011 session. Class consisted of 5 exams, 3 group presentations, and an optional extra-credit paper. If you study the majority of the psych terms and concepts, you should do well in the class. Also look to outside resources for clarity (I used MyPsychLab which came w/ my textbooks). I got a B in the class.

Amazing teacher! Not only she's very clear, organized, and interesting, but she loves what she does and is always prepared to give a great lecture. She's very helpful, very sweet, and extremely intelligent. Psych isn't my major but would take her aain. Reading the book is mandatory for exams. Enjoy!

She's one of the best professors I've ever had. Psych 1 is supposedly a difficult class because of all the new terms you learn but professor Guild makes it so much easier. If you read the chapter assigned before the lecture and focus on the study guide and other key terms, you will do good.

Her lectures are interesting and entertaining which makes class worth going to. The tests though, are very difficult, almost completely out of the book. There are 3 easy group presentations. And she drops one test score. She's stylish, but not the "hot" teacher you expect haha.

Hands down the best professor Ive ever had. She is organized, clear and obviously has passion for what she teaches. Never boring, she always uses examples so we understand and always open to questions. Her tests are easy as long as you study the vocab and read the text and listen to her lectures. Ms.Guild is very sweet, i can honestly say i enjoyed her class. She did her best at explaining and answered questions. She was patient! As long as you keep up with chapter readings you should be fine!

Professor Guid is sweet and lets the kids talk to much in class about their boyfriend/girlfriend problems. I wish she gave lectures instead. People would walk out in the middle of the class period. You have to read the book in order to do well on her tests.

This is my second class I took with Professor Guild. She's by far my favorite professor amongst the SMC staff. She wants her students to earn the best grades and will help them a long the way. You do need to put time and study for her tests but theres nothing really unexpected. I learned so much from her and got A's in both classes. Take Her!!!

I took professor Guild for psychology 6 and absolutely loved it. I learned so much from this class and she's always there to help you with questions. The class wasn't an easy A but her study guides helped a lot. I'd recommend this course for anyone who has been, or is currently in a relationship. This is truly an unforgettable class.

Very easy going teacher, she structures the class very well so you get multiple layers of exposure to the learning material. She would assign reading before the class session when she goes over it, later you can practice on tests through MyPyschLab Obviously, you have to do your part: Read the materials, highly recommend Teach!

I have taken several psychology courses in more than one college and can confidently state that Professor Guild was the best one! Her teaching methods and enthusiasm for the subject allows the entire class to be engaged and interested consistently throughout every subject of the semester. I highly recommend taking the classes she offers!

I took Prof Guild for Psych 1. She makes the class really interesting and relates it to her therapy practice which helps to understand it. She is super funny and really nice. She allowed us to review before tests which was REALLY helpful. The class was a lot of new info for me but she makes it relatable and fun. One of the best teachers I've taken

A very kind and gentle woman. The course was somewhat self-taught. Lectures were sometimes unclear and she doesn't assign readings according to the exact subject being covered in class, but rather assigns full chapters at a time. Biggest pet peeve was the use of a overhead projector from 1999. Provides study guides, but they are extremely broad.

Amazing professor! 4 tests and she drops the lowest score excluding the final. Classes are interesting and fun. I wouldn't say this class is an Easy A but if you study hard and take notes during lectures you will get an A.

Take her class. I took her for spring. 5 exams (including the final exam) drops your lower grade, one extra credit assignment, 3 group presentations, no pop quizzes. exams include multiple-choice questions and truefalse.

Prof. Guild is super sweet and funny. She encourages her students to participate in class and ask questions and love to answer them if you do. Her lectures are pretty boring tho, they can be 50 minutes straight with of only talking. 4 quizzes, drops lowest, 1 final. Goes trough right answers after every quiz. Last weeks are only group presentations

Professor Guild uses real life examples into her teachings. I really love this class. It's summer, so it's fast paced but you will learn. Read, particiapte, STUDY and go to her office hours. She's the best.

What an amazing professor. Every once in a while one hits the jackpot and gets a real gem of a teacher. She is amazing, funny, organized and very articulate. Time flies by when she teaches. She very much cares about her students and always encourages the class. I learned lessons for life just listening to her. Hope to take one of her other classes.

Prof. Guild is a very pleasant professor. Only cons are the timing of her assignments. We got hit with a 5-7 page parenting paper, 45 min presentation of a book with group, etc at around the same time. She barely lectured because she let everyone talk long about their personal stuff. Overall, it was still a pleasant class, and still reasonable.

Straightforward & honest class. To get an A, read through each chapter & review whatever she specifically goes over in class. Guild cares about her subject & her students, & is open to helping anyone who needs it. Your grade is made up of 3 group presentations, 4 tests (lowest is dropped), E.C., & the final. My favorite class of the semester!

Honestly, I've had so many professors in my life and this professor is by far the best one. Lecture were very clear and at times funny, she explained everything so well! she's also really funny at times! Prof. Guild is a Marriage and Family Psychologist so she has insight, experience, and understanding that she shares in her meaningful and Zen lectures. Her tests are challenging--straight memorization alone won't cut it--she makes you think. The class is really appropriate for psych majors, but worthwhile for everyone--esp. with Prof. Guild!

Prof. Guild really is the sweetest thing. I liked her a lot and valued everything she had to say about certain topics. My only issues with the class was that sometimes it could be a little boring, the tests were pretty difficult, and we had a lot of assignments. If you stay on top of everything and use your textbook to study, you'll be fine.

I absolutely enjoyed this class! She gives useful info we can use in our current/future relationships, very helpful! There are like 3 group presentations that are easy. There are 4 tests and 1 is dropped, study for them using the textbook use her study guides, 90% of test is textbook not lecture ! only 2 papers Doesn't take attendance. Super nice!!

Took her class in winter. It went really well. Her lectures are really interesting and even challenges why you act/think the way you do. There are 4 50 question multiple choice tests (lowest score dropped) 3 group projects, and a 100 question final. Tests are based off class discussions &amp; text book readings. Use the practice tests she provides.

I loved having professor Guild. She is so sweet and really wants her students to succeed. One extra credit opportunity and it helps a lot. Her test go in order by chapters and are super clear. You do have to study for them because a majority of the questions are scenario rather then definitions. Her lectures help with that. Good examples to study

She is a nice teacher. Tests were okay. I only read the slides, didn't take the practice exams and my average test score was around 90. I thought tests were pretty straightforward, but some people seem to think they were tricky. First GE that I actually had to study. Other classes, you can get by with an A with just 2 well written essays.

Prof. Guild is a GREAT professor. You can really tell she genuinely cares about every student. The discussions are engaging and the reading is very very interesting. She is always available for help and doesn't assign too much homework. She gives out study guides too! Highly recommend !!!!!!!!!

Professor Guild was a great choice for psych 1. Her class consisted of multiple choice exams, which in my opinion, were rather difficult. She is very caring and if you need help from her go to office hours! Read, go to class, look at the study guide, and an A is yours.

Want a professor who is the most caring, considerate, and well-grounded person ever? Definitely enroll in professor Guild's courses-she's really incredible in the lectures she prepares, uses great examples, high interactive and the exams are relatable to the lectures. I just finished taking Psych 101 with her and absolutely loved her. As a psych major, I thought she was great. Honestly, would have taken a different teacher for an intro to psych class. READ THE TEXTBOOK. there's a lot of content included in the course so if ur not willing to read, study and put in the effort, don't take it. Professor Guild is such a great teacher. She really goes into details with lectures and has lots of examples to make it easy to understand. My only regret was taking it during Winter semester. There's a lot of info to take in from Intro to Psych and it gets even more sped up in a shorter semester.

Professor Guild is caring, gives AMAZING lectures &amp; stays on topic. There are a total of 3 group projects, 4 tests, plus the final(all w/ study guides). Out of the 4 regular tests she drops the lowest one! She offers one extra credit. It is worth 5 points, so its not that much, but it can elevate you to the next grade if you are at the borderline.

Professor Guild is my favorite teacher at SMC. I took her for Psych 6 and again for Psych 1. She has clear study guides for every test and doesnt test you on anything she didnt make clear through lectures (which are never boring btw). She really cares about her students and her field. We had to go online due to CoVid and she was just as amazing!!

Three Group Presentations with the same group each time, 4 midterms (lowest dropped) and 1 final. Took this professor during Summer! This class was relatively easy because study guide was given for every midterm exam and it is literally everything on the study guide, no surprises. Compromising and helpful to international students! I love her.
