Dr. LoGrasso rules. One of the best teachers I've had.
Good teacher. She is down to earth and willing to help you out if you don't understand something. I definately recommend this teacher!
Great Teacher. Learned alot. Helpful when taking Chem 1170
She knows her stuff, period. Very knowledgable. Sometimes seems absent minded, but she's great. The class is hard, but that's the nature of the beast. Homeworks are tough and sometimes tricky. If you want a solid chem base, take her.
Dr. Lograsso is very nice. But as a teacher, she is very unorganized, always is LATE to class and while we take 10 minute breaks, she takes 25 minutes each time talking to other professors in the hallways. Sometimes, the material we got quizzed on and tested on was something we had not even went over. Nice , but you have to teach yourself.

I agree she was always late and very disorganized
Good teacher, unorganized for sure, and likes long breaks, but I won't complain. Labs were easy enough. Fair teacher, wouldn't mind her again.
Unorganized, Moody and Always late!!!
Unorganized--yes--but still provided good notes to review. Fair-tests are partial credit. Just review her notes, read the chapters, and do the homework.
unorganized, soemtimes late, but very helpful when asked. gives printed notes, and examples. Do all homework, study everyday, pay attention in lecture. Very down to earth, and sincere. really cares about her students.
she made a tough class easy and she was always available for help, if your going to take chem. take lograsso
She is an O.K. teacher...she knows her material but has trouble presenting it...her lectures are boring and seem to take for ever...i would not recommend her.
She is very nice, and will do her best to help if it is asked for. Lectures are usu. easy to get. Tests are written, requiring knowledge of the actual concepts, not just the equations. Overall, I enjoyed her as a professor.
She tries her best..but she is a boring Professor. She takes long long breaks and is unorganized.
She is very unorganized. She shows up late every single day and takes these extra long breaks talking to other chem professors and then comes in our class and rushes everything cause she's been blabbing so much. The good thing is her notes are all typed and given to us. She favors people too. There were people with same answers yet marked wrong.
She was an awesome teacher for this subject. She knows what she is talking about and is very aproachable but she does tend to prattle on about nothingness sometimes. But overall she made chemistry managable and if you do your homework you will be fine.
She makes everything sound easy and after she expains a concept, it is easy!
Awesome, just awesome. She will explain anything to you with amazing clarity. I am a much better student because of her.
Explained ok but was BORING and could be mean sometimes
She is a good chemistry teacher. She explains things very well. There are a lot of opportunities for points. Overall an easy class.
Be prepared to work hard and dedicate time in this class! She is okay with a class average test score of 60%. Gives extra credit quizzes every week. Labs are easy, but tedious. Make sure to do review questions in back of chapter. Have fun!
Good prof. Would take subsequent classes with her. Sets the goals earlier, follows her syllabus.
Pretty good teacher. Its not too hard of a class if you do the recommended homework and pay attention in class
Wow, can you say annoying? This teacher is by far the hardest chemistry teacher I have had. Her "jigsaws have NOTHING to do with the test. She pulls the most random things and puts them on the test. The only good thing about that class was lab because it was easy and counted for a big part of your grade. I would NEVER recommend her...
Very willing to help you out if you put forth the effort. Tests fairly on material that is taught. Study your notes and do some homework and the class is easy. Will go the extra mile for her students if you show you care about your education. Would recommend to anyone.
The best chemistry teacher ever. seriously she makes my really like chem. and she likes everyone. she'll get mad if she see's you not trying at all. I recommand her for sure.
Very hard tests!!
Dr Lograsso is a really sweet lady. her class is not easy, you definitely have to know your stuff for her tests. her tests are written out, so you do get partial credit, but they are pretty tough! it's manageable. lab is HUGE in regards to ur grade. it usually bumps people up, and it definitely is helping my grade, even though lab is weaker for me.
Dr. Lograsso is a great instructor. Her class is not easy but this is reflective of the subject material and not her teaching. She will work with you and help you to learn the material. She is also very personable and approachable and you are able to hold discussions with her about school or life in general. I would recommend to her to everyone
I loved her!! She is a great teacher, I had wahby for 1170 and lograsso for 80, and I prefered lograsso. Her teaching style is good, gives you handouts w/ examples youw ork through. tests are written out, so partial credit, which she is more than fair with. not much EC, no quizzes. lab is HUGE (250 points!) cumulative final worth 200 pts. do ALL HW
This was NOT a good experience at all. I will retake the class with somebody else
Very good teacher, but is a little rough. She doesn't sugarcoat and will tell you how it is. Very helpful and influenced me to continue taking Chemistry. The only bad thing is the tests. Pretty challenging and are never multiple choice. Just study and work your butt off and you will pass.
So were do i start with the WORST professor i have ever had at Macomb? Well, right here with this impractical and dysfunctional teacher. She is horrible at teaching. It seems to kill her if she doesn't mark something wrong on you're paper. I mean who takes a 1/4 of a point off. Do not waste your time or money on her. Wow, what a joke of a professor
She is an ok professor but BEWARE of the tests! She needs to write her own tests or teach the way the author words things. She teaches you her own way to word things and the tests are the authors wording so its very confusing on the tests! She is kind of disorganized as well. Im going to try a different teacher for the next semester of Chemistry.
I've had L-Dub for 1170 and 80 but all I have to say is that she needs to reassess the way she teaches. She makes more mistakes than the students and decided to "hold her cards back" this semester - whatever that means. Take class with another teacher.
She was an alright professor, but really who takes 1/4 of a point off?? really?? Study and you will do fine!
LOOOOVED this class! takes alot of work but honestly what chem class wouldn't. grading may be a little dumb... i mean for the lab reports she takes 1.4 points off dumb but very good teacher she makesit so that it is understandable and interesting.
The 1050 level is not that tough. Dr. Lograsso is very helpful but makes some things more complicated than they need to be (like balancing equations). Nice lady, pretty good teacher.
Instructor is not very clear in lectures, and tests were confusing. She also made some rude and unnecessary comments to/about students which can make it difficult to get the most out of the class.
The BEST Chemistry professor I have ever had! I enjoy the subject so much b/c of her. :)
Overall great teacher, I had a 4.0 in her 1170 class in the summer. She is tough but very clear with her lectures.I learned a lot from her class. Great professor, just don't think your going to get a good grade without working extremely hard!
She's nice, but she is usually late to class and she messes up examples. Students have to correct her a lot. Gives a lot of OWL homework that is EXTREMELY annoying and hard to do. Pretty picky about lab notebooks too
If you pay attention and are remotely intelligent you will get a good grade and will learn everything you need for a standardized test. I recommend if you actually want to learn the material instead of getting through an easy class.
Dr. Lograsso is one of the best professors I've had at Macomb. She has made herself available on numerous occaisions to help me. She encourages the use of OWL and if you do the OWL homework you have no problem passing the class. If you have questions, GO SEE HER! She can't help you if you don't ask for help! A+++ Teacher
Not a bad teacher, but messes up examples. Doesn't grade labs in a timely fashion. Very tough grader. Often 5-10 minutes late to class. Very, very strict about lab manual. Teaches you the "long way" of mathematical problems for one example and spends three teaching you a more confusing, shorter way. Picky online homework program.
I LOVE LOGRASSO! i took her 1050, 1170 & now 1180. she is so awesome, she gives extra credit and hw and quizzes, which if you just DO THEM youll get a good grade and her tests arent overly hard at all, JUST STUDY. which im terrible at so lets just say i always got a B with no higher than a 70 on my tests
hard class. between homework, prelab, postlab, and procedures all due on one day. she gives u a review test but the examples are wayyyyy less complicated then her exams. the review is like 1+2=3 and her test are like if you have 5electrons and 5protons how many elements are there in picagrans. always complicated. better on a one on one basis!
she is not an easy teacher. however, you will learn a lot in this class. She is a great teacher but is very tricky with her tests. she might not be so golly all the time; she is always in a serious matter when it comes to teaching. if you want to learn and actually try hard for an A, you will receive it. I recommend her class.
Great teacher extremely helpful, learned a lot.
I think she is forgetting that she is at a community college and not at a university. This class is the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. She says she is preparing you for university level classes but the amount of work is just ridiculous. Hard grader, hard tests, don't take unless you're prepared to destroy yourself with work for a B or C.
horrible teacher. I took her for chem 1050 and passed easily, but then made the mistake by taking her for general chemistry. There were many times where she made mistakes which left students confused when studying at home. I wish i dropped her class before i ended up with a horrible grade. I spent days studying for her exams and still did bad
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. makes many mistakes and gets annoyed if you ask question or want a clarification. her notes are extremely disorganized. also, you will not be prepared for her exams even if you rewrite the notes 10 times bc she pulls stuff out of nowhere. WORST TEACHER EVER.
tests are very tough and you are only given an hour (then you have lab right after). not a good teacher and would not recommend to anyone. don't take her class
I liked her
Well, Dr. Lograsso was definitely the worst professor I have ever had in macomb in both campuses. I took her class and dropped it. The average fpr the exams were 65 and the hardest part was the lab cuz she asks for so many things that out of the book and does not give any clear explanation when you ask her a question.
I ended up with an A and I still regret taking that class with her. She talks down to her students and makes snide comments. She does not prepare you for tests and is very critical with her grading. I would not recommend her to anyone.
Just thinking about this class with her makes me have high blood pressure. Worst teacher ever. Acts like she helps U but doesn't. Be ready to die after taking her exams. DO NOT TAKE HER
Lectures are unorganized. Asks for problems on the exam that she has never reviewed in class. Makes a lot of mistakes in lecture, don't even try to correct her; she will get mad. Worst class ever, she taught me how to hate my semester that's about it. I don't recommend this class to anyone.
She was an easy teacher, I got an A in her class with no problem.
She is an awesome professor. You have to study hard to get good grades. As always Owl online homework are long and need a lot of time.
I thought she was a great teacher. Very thorough in lectures and reviews. She goes around the room so you HAVE to participate, but if you aren't getting it she goes over it until you do. Labs are easy and you get an outlined note packet from her for lectures.
Professor Lograsso is a great educator. She explains the lectures to the point and she wants to see you pass the class. Really easy to get an A, the labs are fun to do but you'll have homework. What class doesnt!
I'm astonished how a terrible professor like Mrs. Lograsso gets good reviews. I started to think that she might use this website to write herself positive reviews since anyone can post reviews here. A surviving trick, when you try to ask her a question, make sure that you stay a bout 2 meters from her breath... It's unstabdablly gross
It is not an easy class but if you study and understand the material it won't be hard to get good grades. Exams are long and you should pay attention to details. Gives partial credits. Overall, I liked her class.
She is well-loved and respected. The new Chem100 aka Chem for Everyone was SO perfect. Her expectations of the class were perfect, as we're not moving forward in Chemistry. It IS Chemistry so it's not easy but she makes it a joy. Lab hours were fun and easy to excel. Tests were average in difficulty. Apply yourself. Not a class to slack off in.
I took this class in the summer so it was condensed but she purposely made things harder than they needed to be and was very open in telling the class this. She makes many mistakes when doing examples which leaves students confused and she is rude when you ask for clarification. You can do good in the class but you will have to teach yourself.
She is an easy teacher if you as long as you study and do your homework. She is helpful and gives great feedback.
There is some work that takes time to do, but as long as you study you will pass easily.
Pretty decent teacher. Gives good feedback. As long as you do your work and study a decent amount you will very well.
Would take her again but didnt need another chem. her tests were easy if you studied and she was super nice about answering questions outside of class. really enjoyed this class!
She wasn't very relatable, but the class was alright. Have to take a lot of note and sometimes gets off track. Have to go a lot of reading assignments out of class, but those are what is on the test. Overall not a hard professor, you get what you put in really. Had an option to drop a class which is nice and gives easy extra credit.
Great instructor! You must be organized and on top of everything to keep up in this class especially if you want an A. Overall she is very help and knowledgeable, use this to your advantage.
Best chemistry professor you will ever have. Explains things very clearly and gives many examples. Notes are always posted online. I highly recommend this professor if you want to get a fundamental understanding of Chemistry.
A lot of reading assignments but they cover pretty much everything on the tests. While Mrs. Lograsso is pretty down to earth, she's a little unorganized and the class had to wait for her to get things printed or set up on numerous occasions. Lectures require a lot of notes but they aren't too difficult to understand and attendence is graded.
By farwas the WORST professor I have ever had at macomb. She makes you feel stupid if you ask a question and makes snide comments. Extremely critical with her grading. She even admits her average passing rate is 45% I would not recommend her to anyone. She's very petty when it comes to grading. She will mark off points for every tiny little thing.
By far was the WORST professor I have ever had at Macomb. She makes you feel stupid if you ask a question and makes rude remarks. Extremely critical with her grading. She even admits her average passing rate is 45% I would not recommend her to anyone. Impossible to receive full credit for anything. will mark off points for every tiny little thing.
Professor Lograsso is a TOUGH GRADER for sure. The course requires a certain level of accuracy& it's heavily enforced. You'll absolutely lose points if you aren't as anal about the signif figures of a number as she is. She gets sidetracked too often during lecture notes. She's not very organized& comes to class unprepared. Obscene HW & Lab schedule
worst professor of all time. 80 percent dropped. says shes not here to help u pass
AMAZING TEACHER, SHE MADE ME LOVE CHEM HONESTLY SHE IS DOWN TO EARTH AND IS UNDERSTANDING DONT SKIP DO THE LABS AND ASSIGMENTS WHICH ARE EASYYY AND YOU WILL BE FINE!!
Professor Lograsso is an amazing teacher. She goes over the material really well, she does many examples to make sure all the students have a full understanding of the topic. Her exams are half multiple choice half written. The exams are very easy if you study since they come straight from the notes. I highly recommend her to anyone.
Lograsso is definitely one to stick to what she says. She has no leniency what so ever, so once she says something she really means it. No matter what you say or do will not change what her answer. As for her instructing, she is absolutely phenomenal at teaching chemistry. Her short cuts simplify a lot of things and if you pay attention youll pass.
Professor Lograsso is great at explaining the material. Her exams are a bit challenging but studying and doing the assigned homework guarantees a good grade in this class.
When class is supposed to begin, she is in another room printing out the chapter review packets and delays class for about 10 minutes. One day, she spent too much time reviewing the chapter that she took time away from a group quiz and rushed us. She tends to overexplain subjects to the point where you feel like slamming your head against a table.
Professor Lograsso is tough, but fair. She is definitely one of the best professors at Macomb. If you are not a chemistry genius like myself, be prepared to put in a lot of time and work into this class. Complete 100% of your OWL homework, study hard, turn in lab book that you put a good amount of time into, and you will pass this class.
you only get an hour to do the exam. That sums it up.
She is by far one of the better professors. Her exams are lecture heavy, but she gives a lot of extra credit. She gives reading assignments, so you need the book. She will take assignments one day late, and really cares about her students. I would 100% take her again! She is such a sweetheart!
Professor Lograsso is one of the best science professors I've ever had. Her lectures are very helpful and are necessary to attend to grasp a good understanding of the topics taught. The tests are all non-multiple choice, and you only get an hour to do them. If you put the work in and do all of the homework, you easily pass.
Dr. Lograsso is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. She truly cares about her students and wants to see everyone succeed. There is a lot of homework, but that only means more ways to raise your grade. They're easy A's. I highly recommend her!!
The class itself is pretty easy if you show up and do the work you'll be fine. I didn't like how unprofessional she was. Always 5-10 minutes late class or off printing something cuz she forgot. The amount of group work in the class is annoying, we don't even get the option of picking our own groups. But she does give a decent amount of extra credit
Would always show up late and very unprofessional. She was constantly being correct during lectures and wouldnt focus on the basics and would have you confused later on about what material is important and which isnt. Labs reports are ridiculous. They are extremely long and you cant pick your partners. If you ask for help she says look at notes
Professor Lograsso is the worst professor I have ever taken! She was the most inconsiderate person till the very end probably because all her students were struggling. Her tests were no where near her practice tests or study guides. She expected you to have a doctorate degree in chem! Even during the covid time she didn't give her students lee way.
She is the worst professor ever she is rude and unprofessional I dropped bc of her and wasted my time and with a lot of homework.
Professor Lograsso was the worst chem professor I've ever had. She did not know how to teach and did not care if you were failing. If you care about your future grades, don't take her. She is rude and disrespectful.
If I can put the rating as a 0 I would because this is how much she deserves. She is the WORST WORST WORST professor you'll ever take in your life. If you want to fail then this is the right professor for you. She's mean and disrespectful and her lectures has nothing to do with her tests. She does not know how to teach.
Doctor Lograsso was the best professor I've ever had! It isn't hard to pass the class if you try, but be prepared to put the work in. She is very generous if she see's you trying. She was always accessible through messages and got back to me effectively and efficiently. If you want an amazing chemistry professor take her. Best of luck!
She's the most horrible professor I've ever taken! She doesn't care about u or ur grade at all. Can u believe she gave us 50 questions to complete on exam for 30 minute?! Half the class couldn't even finish! If u make even a small mistake on assignments, she marks u down. Her job is not to help u pass, but to have you fail. waste of my money :(
SO MUCH WORK WITH SO LITTLE HELP, DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR GRADE AT ALL, DOES NOT BOTHER TO HELP YOU
I honestly thought that the 3.4 rating on her was good enough for me but I thought wrong. Grades late which makes it hard for U to see ur actual grade and unable to see if ur answers on previous assignments were correct before exams. When you take a written exam u get blamed for cheating even though u offered to take ANOTHER exam in FRONT of her.
Professor Lograsso is a fair professor who cares about your grade. With her first online course, she has taught, she did pretty well. She gives some extra credit that boosts your grade. If you put in the work you are sure to get at least a B. She even gave an optional final exam. If you had an A you didn't need to take the final which was nice.
Dr. Lograsso is a tough grader but offers so much room for you to boost your grade. You do need the book and will use it a lot for notes but the exams are just like the notes. As long as you try you will pass with a B or higher
She gives a lost of homework, grades really hard, always has a quiz and exams. Its either her way or the high way I WOULD NEVER TAKE HER AGAIN!!
She is a very student oriented professor. Chemistry is not an easy class so you will never receive an A unless you try hard. There is a lot of homework in this course, but it prepares you to be successful on the exams. As for the lab, she allows the first 3 lab reports to have a rough draft before a final submission so you know what she expects.
Her lecture videos are useless, and when you ask for additional help she gets defensive/rude. I find myself, watching chemistry YT videos bc they are more helpful then her. Her exams are all handwritten, no multiple choice, and must be taken on ground. If you want to fail and waste ur money, take her.... worse teacher Ive ever had
DONT look at the good ratings she was given. 100% lies. She is actually the worst professor Ive ever had. Her lectures have nothing to do with tests/quizzes. She is the toughest grader. She never gives enough time to take any quizzes/tests. I felt rushed every time. Her lectures make 0 sense. They confuse you 10x more. She sets you up 4 for failure
I like this professor. She's helpful, patient, and always gives feedback. The class is hard, I won't lie. She does her best to help this with assigned bookwork reading, lectures, quizzes, and extra credit. The last Chemistry teacher I had was awful, so she's a breath of fresh air. Just be prepared to put the time in if you want a good grade.
Partly not her fault, as it is an online lab class, but I didn't enjoy it all that much. Each week usually has a reading assignment from the textbook, a lecture pack/notes, a lab, and a discussion and replies. Tests are open note, and the final exam is optional. If you find chemistry interesting and are ok with doing labs at home, consider taking.
quiz every week, followed by an exam the following week. Don't get me wrong, she was nice but that's not why you should want to take the class. Incredibly hard to pass. Be willing to give up the majority of your time during the week and you may even go in knowing much, you will still bomb the test because it was most likely not explained in lectur
She doesn't know how to TEACH! I started out nice and easy, but she just gives out exams not related to the reviews we've done on campus, nor online pop quizzes! She is terrible at explaining! Once I failed the second test and 3 others too, we stopped and dropped our hopes... We knew she's not right... So we dropped. It was about 7-8 students.
Quiz every week, followed by an exam the following week. She gives a lot of homework, grades really hard always have a quiz and exams. It's either her way or the high way I WOULD NEVER TAKE HER AGAIN!!
My chemistry class was a hybrid. Dr. Lograsso was great! Her tests were very similar to her notes and objectives list. It was a tough class and you definitely have to work for your grade. She is super helpful and knowledgeable. Watch the lecture videos, take notes, and do the assignments and you will be prepared for the tests.
I typically do not come on here, but I do have to say Dr. Lograsso was one of the best professors that I have ever had. She is honestly quite chill and has said herself that she has become more relaxed and lenient over the years. This class is challenging but she is the main professor who teaches it and helps whenever you have a question! :)
Her lectures have nothing to do with tests/quizzes. She is the toughest grader. She never gives enough time to take any quizzes/tests. I felt rushed every time.
Her lecture videos are useless, and when you ask for additional help she gets defensive/rude. I find myself, watching chemistry YT videos bc they are more helpful then her. Her exams are all handwritten, no multiple choice, and must be taken on ground.
I had her for chem1170 lecture and Chatterjee for lab. I liked both of them, she taught well and I enjoyed the lectures. The only homework we had was OWL homework for each chapter, and pre and post lab quizes that were online. and they took less than 20 minutes.
Professor Lograsso was a knowledgeable and caring professor who was clear in her expectations. The tests are entirely written response and you will not pass with only a passing familiarity with the content. Good opportunity to get partial credit. Willing to help outside of class with topics not strictly pertaining to class. Highly recommend!
I took this chemistry class online in an 8 week format, and I can say I enjoyed it as much as I could have. It took a lot of time to do the assignments and tests, but it was to be expected in a condensed timeframe. Professor Lograsso was very good at communicating and giving feedback on every assignment and made the class more fun. Highly recommend
She is full of misinformation/misjudgment/discrimination and unnecessarily needed attitude. Does not explain the pop quizzes, or EXAMS! 9/17 failed her class! Average overall was 58%! Do NOT take her unless you want to waste money and have server stress.
This professor was absolutely terrible. Do not take this class with her. She is not good at explaining and blatantly laughed when telling our class that another class had a low test average. There is 1-2 quizzes every week.
Quizzes can get overwhelming, as you should have that week's info down pat in a week.
She is an overall great professor, and really cares if the student cares. It does get overwhelming, especially having a quiz every week because it can be difficult to understand the material that fast. Most of my class dropped because exams are difficult, but she does give a study guide that lists everything on the exam. You work for your grade.
Dr. Lograsso is good. She does "fill-in-the-blank" type notes, but explains everything very well and is helpful. Her exams are hard but that might just be due to the course itself, so make sure to really study. She also offers extra credit before every exam. Homework is on owl and is long and not-so-useful. Overall she's nice and I'd recommend her
Tough, not easy going, no leniency - makes you WORK for your grade. Decent teacher for the material. Personally, wouldn't take again.
She must thinking asking for help is a personal attack because if you ever think asking her for help might be an option she's just going to get defensive and mean. She does not know a single thing about teaching and expects you to know all of the material before entering the class. Don't risk it just find a good teacher instead.
Because of her, I gotten into trouble and accused of “cheating.” Yet, I was still able to drop. She is the WORST. Full of useless information not dealing with exam. She serves at church, and tricks students to fail. Would definitely not believe any of the good comments she has, she made some herself! Highly recommend you to drop —IMMEDIATELY.
It's a hard class, study and you will do fine. She has plenty of extra credit opportunities. Do the practice exams she posts prior to any exam. They are VERY similar to what is on the exam.
There is a lot of work. Overall she is not bad but does make a lot of mistakes on lectures, exams and sometimes grading… I would take her only if last resort. On exams she only marks wrong will not tell you the right answers. You will be left confused. Do ALL homework review quizzes and extra credit. Will help your grade tremendously. :) good luck.
Professor Lograsso's class was a real challenge, but unstuckstudy helped me prepare thoroughly. The exams are tough, but going to office hours and using the AI review tools made a big difference.
Beyond awful. Made so many mistakes in lectures and on the exams. Students would discover errors on exams and have to ask, to which she would make corrections on the board. It was always “oh, sorry about that.” She also made students teach the class/material. & This person is grading our material?
Had for hybrid chem 2 and she was great. Easy workload, provides good lecture materials (videos she recoded) as long as a guide to follow along with. Labs are simple, and offers a lot of Extra credit. We still did review sections before exams and there are sample exams with keys before every one, follow it and you should get a good grade on exams.
