shes a really nice lady who wants everyone to pass.. she doesnt try to purposely fail students like some other teachers, cough matsumoso and wasti cough cough, if you study and do the labs reports and go to class you can easily get an a or a b.. and she is interesting to listen to, she does fun labs

shes a really nice teacher and is very helpful. shes passionate about what she teacher and if you study.. and just go to lab and do the homework its almost a guaranteed a or b. she wants everyone to understand and makes everything interesting. she slows down if she sees people are confused and would never give a test if she knew people didnt get it

ok i dont know what the person below me is talking about but everyone else left her good comments because she is really good teacher, she isnt disorganized and she never gets mad at people for asking questions so this person below me is just being rude. shes really helpful and always offers tutoring and her lectures and labs are interesting

She is a really great professor, is always there for extra help and makes sure everyone understands everythign before a test, she outlines the chapters for you which helps alot, reallly helpful in the lab, gives extra credit and is always available for tutoring. shes a really nice person and iw ould recommend her to anyone!

Wonderful teacher, sometimes talks a little too fast, was extremely helpful after class or lab. Basically hands you 5 points on every exam if you answer her questions for homework.....

Prof. Macguire is one of the best teachers I have ever had! I was dreading taking a Lab Science because I am terrible at it. A friend suggested I take her and I am so happy I did. She gives you notes for every chapter she covers and tests right from the notes. You really learn Biology and she's interesting/funny! Very passionate!!!

This course is not easy, but as promised you will get Bio when you leave. You should not miss a lecture and you should listen to her and go over the notes at least 5 times durning the week. Her tests are really hard!!! She is a great teacher but not easy!!

An AWESOME Prof. I do not have a bio background, and I got a B+. If you attend lectures and study the notes a bit before exams, you will be absolutely fine. Recopying the notes into your notebook helped me very much! She does move fast, but she's there if you need help. I wish all professors were like her!

Had her freshman year for intro to bio along with having her for the lab instructor too, shes one of the best teachers overall that ive had in college so far. she makes biology fun and always uses real life examples to make students understand things. shes a really nice woman and always happy to help. i would DEFINITELY recommend taking her

Took Prof. Maguire's summer section of BIO 108. Course is obviously accelerated due to shortened time period, but very simple. Maguire is a wonderful professor. Lessons are very clear, and tests are straightforward. Always available for help. Coming from a non-science background, I gained interest and excelled in her class. A must take!

I took her in the summer for BIO 108 and it was probably the best decision i have ever made! Alot of work in a short time but it was worth it. VERY Helpful. Do the work and reading and you will pass! Reread yours and her note everyday and the quiz's will be a piece of cake.Made the class very fun. Had no Bio history and I did just fine! Best Prof!

She teaches how to think not just memorize the stuff. Took her for bio 108 got A and appreciate her so much because got an A- in anatomy thank to her. Study hard and it will pay off later. Excellent teacher.

VERY GOOD PROFESSOR. Gives all the notes on blackboard needed for each class just print them before you go. 6 exams, all straight from the notes. Not easy whatsoever but if you study and read the notes over and over you will do fine. Very helpful with examples in class so its easy to remember things. go to lectures and you should do just fine!

Amazing teacher! She has a real enthusiasm for what she teaches! She gives you her notes and uses a lot of analogies to help understand concepts! You do have to study hard for her tests but tests aren't too too tricky.

Very tough and demanding class, but you will absolutly learn, exams are not too hard but are not easy, just make sure you read her notes over and over. Her labs are fun, lots of writing but workable to help your overall grade in BIO. She might change her lab routine so you might end up doing a quiz instead of lab reports.

Great teacher. Explains everything very well and gives great analogies. I took BIO 108 the first time with Professor Gonzolves and got a C-. I took her summer session and got a B+ and understood everything.

I wish I had taken Bio 108 before Anatomy, I probably would've gotten a better grade. She is the best professor at RIC. I wished she taught EVERY level of Bio. Her analogies are perfect. She has passion in what she teaches and makes learning Biology fun for her students. If you're considering taking Bio 108, I suggest taking it with her.

I absolutely LOVED her. She is the best bio professor at RIC. Used to be a bio major and I HATED it with a passion. Switched to nursing, I could finally stay I understand bio. Only thing was I wish I had taken this class before Anatomy, would've gotten a better grade. You plan on taking bio 108, take it with her. Take her lab too. She's AMAZING :)

Maguire is the BEST Biology professor at Rhode Island College! I took her for Bio 108 and was thrilled with the way she presented the notes and the material. Very approachable and she wants her students to do well, and will help you in every way that she can!I would highly recommend her to any student!

Prof. Maguire is the BEST biology teacher I have ever had! I have never had a real interest in science until I took her class. Her exams are challenging but she gives optional homework assignments that you can hand in with exams for extra credit. I'm not gonna say it was easy, but she makes it fun and she is a fair grader. Don't even need the book!

If you're a nursing major I highly recommend that you take her for Bio 108. She's absolutely amazing. If she taught every nursing course I would take her. Her examples/stories are hilarious and helpful for the exam. No book required. Just STUDY her notes and you'll pass. I passed with an A. Take her lab as well

Bio is not easy but she will try and keep u awake through out the long lectures by moving/jumping around. She gives non mandatory h.w; it only counts as 5 extra points for ur exams.

LOVE this professor. I hated bio in high school & she makes it super easy & clear. She gives you her number & email to ask questions whenever you need her! She gives you pictures & outlines & makes sure you're prepared for tests. Studying is definitely needed though. She relates lectures to her funny stories & makes it fun! Definitely recommended!

Professor Maguire is an AMAZING professor. Attendance to lectures is not mandatory but I always go because she just has an incredible talent for explaining the material in an easy-to-understand way. You cover a TON of material and the class isn't easy but she really does her best to make sure that everybody gets it and isn't left behind.

She is a very great teacher and she gives alot of exams. 6 exams per semester, and her lecture notes are on blackboard and the end of each lecture are study questions. Complete them, it will help you alot.

She cares about her students so she gives you a print out of her notes on the board and tells you to take notes and that makes it ten times easier. She is a very good teacher and you can tell she enjoys being there to help her students!

I took Maguire's Bio 111 over the summer at RIC. The class met four days a week for an hour and half. She has you print out the notes and gives you additional info and diagrams in the lecture which is vital. She has lecture questions which you can do for extra credit, if you do all of them before the exam its 5 point on the exam. Lab is an easy.

Favorite professor at RIC. At the beginning she seems like a difficult professor, but honestly she is the best. I love her examples and felt like i truly learned in that class. I didn't just memorize information. I would definitely recommend her to anyone! You do not need the book in her class, her notes are perfect!

This is my second time taking BIO the first time i failed because i couldn't understand what my professor was saying so i gave up, but Laura Maguire is by far one of my favorite teachers! You can tell she really loves her students and wants them to pass! You don't have to come to class but i recommend it because she explains everything anyone gets

I love professor Maguire, I wish she taught micro because I would take her in a heartbeat. She makes everything so relatable and easy to understand, I got nothing lower than an 80 on the exams. There were six of them. Very straightforward and gives lots of extra credit, I would recommend taking her for BIO 108. Fantastic teacher.

You have to work for your grade; material is challenging but she gives extra credit homework ques, so do them! She is flexible, accessible, and very easy to talk to. Tries to explain the topic at best she can. gives 5 points of extra credit towards each exam as long as you do the "homework" which isn't mandatory but it helps in studying. There was a test every 2 weeks and they are all multiple choice. Class wasn't difficult.

She is so sweet and creates cute stories to teach concepts which help. 6 exams and if you complete the review questions then 5 points are added to your exam grade. One of the best professors. You will actually learn something from her. Just study what she says, all her exams are straightforward from her notes. If I actually studied every day or at least an hour each day, I probably would end up with an A. But since I'm lazy, I was still able to pass, and her lectures, she relates them to her life somehow.

As long as you study, the exams are not hard and only cover the notes and what was talked about in the lecture. I hate science and she really made the material understandable. She gives you the notes, which makes it 10x easier because she writes them so they are readable, without making it complicated. Very kind and caring Professor who does whatever she can to help her students. A few exams were really difficult but, for the most part, it was difficult but doable. For me, Biology is a bit difficult in some ways but Professor Maguire was a very pleasant experience. She allows great opportunities for extra cred. I would definitely take her again.

Lab didn't always correspond with lecture. Quizzes were fairly straightforward and easy. The end of semester lab practical is the only exam that is remotely difficult and that's because you have to identify the structures of a fetal pig. Doesn't give the most comprehensible answers but super nice and personable.

Professor Maguire is amazing. We only had 10 quizzes in all (NO EXAMS!). The notes are very easy to understand, and she answers questions very well. Also, if you have questions during the quizzes, she will help lead you to the answer. She is hilarious and super supportive!

She doesn't use a textbook, lecture attendance is mandatory if you want to pass. She gives out her phone number so you can text her with questions. Show up for lectures and do the homework and you'll get an easy A. She does test 4 comprehension of the material more than just the facts, so make sure you understand it.

I was nervous about BIO 108, but Professor Maguire was like a breath of fresh air. I absolutely love this class and If I have the chance to take her again I will. She gives you an opportunity to make up any zeros you have for half credit, and her tests are straightforward, so it's impossible to fail them.

She is also quite hilarious and expresses lots of enthusiasm when teaching. There were no final exams and she only did 10 quizzes, and used homework questions as bonus points.

I really liked this professor! Her lectures were very well planned and she uses stories to communicate the material better. Her quizzes however, were very hard and instead of it being the material it would be a lot of "what ifs...", which made them hard. She does scale some of them however which was a huge help!

She is very understanding if you have a conflict and are unable to make an exam. All of them were online so she would allow them to be taken at home!!! 1000000/10 recommend.
