Laura is a great instructor and I recommend her to anyone considering a career in Communication. She's insightful and is always opening her schedule to help her students further their goals.

Highly recommended. She is one of the best instructors I have had so far. She is very friendly, and tries to include everyone in class discussion (even if you are quiet). The speeches that she had us do were always fun, and I definitely learned a lot from the course.

SHE IS SO AWESOME! I took Speech 100 from a different teacher and sooooo wish I could have had her as the instructor! My favorite class/professor out of all the classes I have ever taken, this is a must have. If you have 5 credits you aren't using... take this class! Fun, interesting, and pretty easy if you show up and pay attention.

Class attendance isn't mandatory, however it's in your best interest not to miss any class b/c her exams come straight from her lecture. No textbk required. My grade 4.0.

By far one of the best teachers at highline and my favorite of all her intercultural communication class is so good. You will learn alot. Also she is so nice and cares about all of her students. If you do all you assignments and group project you will be sure to pass with a 4.0 :)

I took all her classes that she taught at HCC. One of the best teacher and mentor I had in my life. And dont under estimate the work she gives. She may be laid back but she isn't easy! She is always helpful and will help you no matter what! Just ask and she will help you figure it out! If you have a problem find a solution first then tell her.

Laura is probably the nicest, most caring, and joyful teacher at Highline. She is passionate and really connects to students. Did not want the quarter to end with her. Completly understood the concepts and aced everything due to her exceptional communication. Should be the model from which other teachers should be judged. Highly recommended.

I would never take the time or effort to even make a "Rate My Professors" account, let alone write a review. However, Laura was such an incredible professor that it was worth making one and leaving this review. She makes the class feel like a family and a team. I learned so much from this class and it was quite fun. The 4.0 is easy too. Take her.

Great teacher clear on what she wants, worked with me to get good scores and was a nice proffesor all around. I wasn't able to make it to class because of car issue and she rescheduled my speech and emailed me to be ready next class. Amazingly understanding and loved her lectures, she pretty hot too. Learned a lot got a 3.9 without trying

I'm someone who absolutely HATES talking in front of the class, but Laura made it so easy! She's there to support and help you become a better speaker and presenter 100% of the time! If you're someone who constantly struggles with presenting in front of others, I highly recommend taking her for communications!

Laura is such an amazing teacher! I was so stressed about taking this class because I hate talking in front of people, but this was such an easy and fun class! Only 1 solo presentation, 1 partner presentation, and a few group presentations. She is the most friendly, outgoing, caring, and carefree teacher I've ever had. Would definitely take again.

She is a very very nice professor. Great personality, easy to communicate and willing to talk with you. Her class is pretty easy but very fun. I feel I am involved to her class. If you did bad on your speech, she will give you a chance to give your speech again. She really cares about students.

Laura was the nicest prof ever. She lectured with a lot of energy and graded very fairly. Even if you're scared of Public Speaking, Laura will make a welcoming environment to speak in :)

Enjoyed her class, Laura is a great and fun teacher, but sometimes her grading was off and priorities were unclear with a couple assignment. But over all, great teacher and highly recomend. Shes fun and really easy in this class.

Do yourself a favor, take Laura Manning. She's amazing, makes the class interesting, and the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. She's focused on mastery of content, so she'll let you re-do speeches until you get it down!

Literally one of the most amazing woman ive ever encountered. I had assumed public speaking would be boring, but going to her class always uplifted my spirits. She is SO understanding and the way she speaks to us, the way she teachers, her feedback etc, you can tell she really cares and listens. So encouraging and positive, im grateful for her!

She is such a kind professor who cares about you, and your speeches. I think she's my favorite professor I have had because she works with you to make sure you succeed, and is just so understanding. We have 3 major speeches and the preparation assignments were fairly simple and didn't eat up too much time. Highly recommend!

There ain't no one better than Laura! I also made her my adviser bc she's the most caring professor ever. Take ANY class with her if you can and she will do whatever it takes to help you improve your skill and fain a love for something you may not even like at first. She will help you until you reach your goal. She cared for everyone in my class.

Laura is an extremely caring and curious person. She wants to help you succeed outside of her class as well as in it. She had good teaching about how to be an effective public speaker. Beware, though, that the entire class is based around choosing one topic and doing multiple speeches based off of it. Your topic must be related to social justice.

Overall great teacher. She really knows her stuff and shows it by caring for her students and making sure everyone achieves success. Everyone in class improved substantially by the end of the quarter compared to the beginning. If you want to improve yourself and your skills, this is the class for you.

100 stars if I could- HIGHLY recommend! I've never had an educator care so much for her student's success AND well-being Relatable, approachable, honest, fair in grading/feedback. Ample opportunity to retry speeches&assignments with corrections. All a recipe for a great grade but the skills&knowledge I took from this class will stick with me!

I took two of her classes at Highline. She is the most caring person you can find. Her class consists of lot of communication and encouragement. She is generous as well, so no one rarely fails. I'd take her class anytime even just for fun!

This spring was the best so far because of Laura. She is the best professor, she cares and will encourage you. I loved the presentation we did in class and I have learnt a lot from her. If I would take this class again I would without any hesitation.

Laura's awesome ! Her class was easy and chill. She calls her students "friends" which really shows that she doesn't see herself as superior to us. Attendance is mandatory but no problem if you have to miss one class, because she records her lectures and posts them to canvas. 10/10

She was the best professor I've ever had! She is incredibly kind and caring. Even though I wasn't confident enough to take the communication class, she provided me with a comfortable place to speak and learn. She treats her students as friends for example starting a class with "Hello friends!". I would absolutely recommend her class!

Oh my goodness, Laura may be the best professor or the best person I've met in my whole life. She is the most compassionate and caring person, and she only wants what's best for her students. She sets you up with amazing and helpful connections and gets you out of your comfort zone (in a good way.) I would recommend her a hundred times over.

Laura is so wonderful. I hope she enjoys her retirement. The worst part about this review is that by the time anyone will reading she will be teaching her very last quarter. This was the easiest 4.0 ever and it was still a valuable and educational experience.
