Utilize the online practice tests, I would definitely recommend her for ISDS265
Pay attention to lecture & do hm. wk. then u will have no problem getting an A
Nice. Just do your work.

Very Easy, do online practice exams
very easy, tests are exactly the same as online practice test, do hw
No Comments
very easy and very nice teacher
pretty easy but her lecture classes are pointless. just read the book.
Very cool, and easy teacher. You don't really need to come to the lectures, just take the online quizzes. If you're not great with computers, I recommend you come to the labs.
She's pretty laid back and her tests are not too difficult if you do the HW. Group project is a pain though. Make sure you do the HW and turn it in on time.
She is super cool and her class isn't too bad. Just do the assignments & if you need help, ask her. Exams are easy except for the last problem. Make yourself a good notes page for her exams! Group project is a pain to get together w/partners.
Gives excellent help. Easy to follow labs.
This class was easy, everyone should be able to get a "B" at a minimum. Make sure your homework is perfect or she will deduct points from your grade. Tests are relatively easy if you just read the book. She is not that hot by the way.
SHE'S NICE AND ALL! BUT SHE GIVE A LOT OF HW WHICH OTHER TEACHERS DOESN'T LIKE CASE AND PLACE PROBLEMS WHICH IS REALLLY HARD! AS LONG AS YOU READ THE DISC. COMM BOOK! THEN YOU'LL DO OK ON HER MULTIPLE CHOICE PART!EXCEL WAS EASY BUT ACCESS IS HARD!GOO LUC!
She is so nice and helpful. Make sure you ask questions if you are confused because she is extremely helpful. There is no curve, but her tests are not that hard. She also gives some extra credit. Just make sure follow directions on the homework
Very nice, give a lotta work tho. but it helps you on the test. She'll help you if you need her to.
easy teacher. easy class. do all the hw so you know whats going on in the class and study the online test because the questions are exactly the same. didn't try hard and still got an A.
She is hot and from Hawaii. Very helpful, very nice. Do the work and you'll be fine.
Gives out a lot of homework, it’ll help you out on the computer part of the exams. Nice and easy going teacher who’s more than willing to go out of her way to help you out. Has two mid-terms, a bunch of homework, and a final exam.
Just read the chapters briefly, do your HW and you're good to go. the hw is pretty easy especially the excel part, but just becareful with the access part. she is really nice and helpful. take her and you will learn and get a good grade at the same time.
Excellent teacher. I learned a lot from her. She might give out a load of homework, but the material is helpful when exams roll around. Do the homework, read the chapters briefly, and ask questions if you don't understand... it's a beneficial class.
she's the nicest teacher i ever had.. she's helpful and if you do all the homework you should be fine on the excel and access part of the tests.. multiple choices part is a little hard.. just study
She is so nice! Class was very easy. Multiple choice tests are not hard if you study, excel and access tests are easy too, she tells you exactly what she wants from you. She gives 10 assignments throughout the semester, but you get a whole week to turn them in so easy! She's an awesome teacher you learn alot from her, I definitely recoomend her!
she is a wonderful, wonderful professor, she cares about her students and is extremely helpful. excel and access part is very easy, multiple choice questions are a little bit difficult, but if you do the reading, then easy to get at least B+ on exams. plus if you do all the homework and attend classes, it should pull you to at an A.
Excellent teacher, has tons of patience and spoon feeds information to you. Very cool for a programing teacher. Helps alot and availbe for office hours. Take her!!!
one of the nicest teacher i've ever had. friendly and very helpful. nice grading system too, i got mostly Cs on exams but passed with B+. lots of hw but it really helps. u'll learn alot.
She's the nicest teacher ever! The class is pretty easy. Do ALL the homework, it adds up! Her tests are ok, but you have to know what you're doing, but she's very helpeful and very clear, so really listen to her lectures, but read the book too, and you'll be ok. Easy A/B
Great Professor! SHe's very helpful and caring to her students. Just do well on your homework, and you'll be fine with her exams. The class consists of exams (hands-on/MC), homework, and attendance. Very easy to pass.
Excellent professor...explains material clearly..very helpful...covers everything that will be on exam...highly recommended!!!
very nice teacher !!I passed the class with B+ :-)She cares for students. most of the class is B or higher.
Class is pretty much pointless. The only thing worth while is the lab time and learning how to use Excel. The classroom part is pointless like the multiple choice tests are. Fairly easy class and teacher is nice and easy going
Awesome Teacher, Got an easy A. Do her homework, u'll be fine.
she is awesome VERy very very good teacher and person
She is a very nice teacher, not hard at all.
Pretty easy class- one day is spent hands-on in the comp. lab, the other day in a reg. classroom going over the info in the book. 11 computer assignments (easy, even the oral one) and about three or so tests (part computer, part mult. choice). Attendance only counts for 2% of your grade- I pretty much only went to the labs! Got an easy A.
Very nice professor. She goes through step by step for the Excel and Access programs. She's also very patient with students who have no Excel/Access background. Her tests are actually easy but you have to go through tons of readings. She's also very helpful. Whatever you don't understand, she'll try to explain till you understand.
Very nice lady, easy class too, especially if you have some knowlege of computers. First test is incredibly easy, but second test is moderately challenging, final is pretty easy. Take her for this class if you can, she is very helpful and teaches the subject very clearly.
great teacher, very helpful, patient, the in class presentation is easy b/c she doesnt really have high expectations for it. just wing it. very good class to b/c u actually end up learning stuff even if u dont want to lol.
A great professor, hw assignments are very easy if you do them, they help you understand excel/access. Exams are fair, first exam is easy, the rest, you really need to study the hands on part, questions are MC and no tricky questions(great huh) just use commen sense for those terminologies, You can get a B or higher if all goes well.
She goes over every step with you in lab for Excel & Access. Tests are 60% MC questions and 40% Excel/Access. MC questions not hard at all if you study, review notes and textbook. The HW will help you out on the Excel/Access portion of the test.
easy teacher. goes over everything step by step. easy tests
Outstanding teacher! Very Very helpful!! Make sure you do all the hw and come to class! Tests are very easy as long as you study, no trick questions. She is very sweet and passionate as well!! Take her for a great experience!
i usually cant stand politics but this class is pretty easy... she tells u exactly what to study for the exams, she drops the lowest test score & after each exam she tells u which questions will repeat on the final so u will totally do well! a little boring but i recommend it!
easy, easy class. She is very nice, but talks to you as if you are in kindergarden. Do not take her if you want to learn, but for an nice easy class to boost your GPA- this is it.
Easy!! She makes the class so easy. She takes attendance, but she's no nice you want to go anyway! Take her, easy A if you read over the text.
Very easy class, lots of reading. She's very straight forward. I would recommend getting her for any class. midterms and finals were not too tricky, very similar to assignments. just come to class and thats enough to pass.
AWESOME teacher, very helpful and very easy to understand, cduf needs more professors like her, she does everything step by step and explains everything so well that it makes you want to listen, if you can get into this class then TAKE it
amazing!! easy!! take her!! lectures were not especially entertaining but the lab part was very easy and most points come from the excel hw. study a lil bit for the tests n you will do fine on exams. TAKE HER CLASS
The best class i ever took so far at CSUF. I had a lot of fun learning programming in visual basic. If u like programming then u will enjoy this class. Exams were long and ppl didn't have enough time but she grades very nice. Also a big project at the end but it was the funnest project i've ever had.
She is so nice and helpful. She even will help you during tests. The assignments are really easy but the tests don't really cover what she goes over in class. I did all my homework and got Bs on the tests and ended up with a B. I'd recommend her!
Professor Marcoulides is a very sweet lady and is very helpful, but the class is pretty boring and it is as if she is talking to a group of first graders. The class is easy, especially if you do the practice tests on the website the book gives you, that is where most of her exam questions come from. I would take her again.
yeah like everyone said. she's sweet. easy hw excercises. 2test+final> 60% of multi.choice questions (not really hard) and 40% for the access/excel problem(super easy :D). and there'r a project (3% of total grade) and also some extra credit points. got B even thou i miss the project, the extra credit, and attention points :D
She is a nice professor. The class is decent. Homework is done online for the most part. The tests are half multiple choice (from text book) and excel/access application. There is a lot to memorize usually. The class is overall pretty easygoing.
She is ver helpful and cares for your needs. her test were easy if you read the book, most of the terms are on there. hw will help with acess and excel. she gives you everything you need to succeed
The Best Profesor at CSUF! I wish everyone was like her. Very nice and sweet. Helps students with everything. Easy going class.
Its a alright class. She a good professor.
She was very helpful during the hands on classes. She was always very nice when you had a question. Emphasizes group work in both the lecture and hands on class. There were 2 midterms and a final. The Access exam was the hardest.
Professor Marcoulides is a great teacher, she is very nice, helpful and explains the material if you have difficulty understanding. Highly recommend her!!!!
She teaches well and is really nice. Class though can be hectic, because it is a very fast pace class and if you fall behind your dead.
excellent prof. she knows her stuff about computers and conveys this knowledge to her class well. she does rely on the book, but for examples. her assignments are easy and so are the tests. find a hot chick she can be your computer buddy all semester. good times..
She is one of the few professors at CSUF who genuinely cares about her students. When she found out that we were overpaying for our books she called up the publisher and got us ALL $10 refunds. That's how much she cares! She's a super easy teacher that relies heavily on the books and myitlab. This class is VERY passable.
The class was average. 3 Tests consist of computer (access and excel) and multiple choice. The computer part is easy but the multiple choice is somewhat difficult. If you are looking for an easy A this class is hard. However a B is quite easy to get if you just do the material. Also she gives out some extra credit so make sure to go to class!
Pro: This is one smart lady. Con: This is one horrible teacher. She doesn't explain assignments well and sends you some really horrible emails if you ask for help. her usual response is ask a classmate. MyIt lab is a waste of time, but some people think it helped. Half the test is out of the book. No study guide and was not clear on pages to study.
She is the sweetest lady I have ever met. She helps you a lot if you go to her office. There are about 10 homework assignments and one project(only 2 pages). I really like her and her attitude towards students.
Programing is like learning foreign language, so imagine this: She only teach u how to spell in Spanish. HW ask u to write sentence in Spanish. Tests want you to write paragraph. Project ask you to write story in ITALIAN. Her final is in Italian. Then y spent 3/4 the term teaching students Spanish. Project due in 1 month, need good programmer team.
Programming in general is very hard. Consists of 3 exams and 8 Homework assignments. The book itself is garbage. Homework assignments are hard, but she doesn't care if the programming works or not, she only checks to see if you did them. I recommend taking Newby.
She's patient with her students and is really kind. She gives you 3 exams, including the final and each exam consists of a multiple choice & hands on with Access/Excel. She doesn't hand out a study guide and when lecturing, you have to really pay attention to understand the concepts. Her exams aren't too hard as long as you know your stuff.
Loved this class!! I had absolultely NOOOO prior programming experience, and I got an A. Reading the book and doing the homework was necessary though. She's a great teacher and will really help students in her office hours.
This professor is ridiculously hard. I don't understand why students would give her a good rating. You should base the ratings on the way she teaches, not because you got an A. CSUF needs to seriously provide better professors for ISDS 309 and 312. ISDS majors have no choice but to take her, so good luck on passing the class.
DO NOT TAKE HER! She goes over course material very quickly and drowns you in assignments weekly. Very soft spoken but not the easiest ISDS professor.
She is very kind and helpful for those who ask. As far as the work load, yes it is a lot, but this is University and not a charity. Besides, programming is much like math, the more you practice/do the better you will become at it! I took her during Summer and had a blast! I would highly recommend students take her courses :)!
Prof goes over very little in the book and a LOT is covered on the test. so make sure you study. spends a lot of time on the application part of the class which can actually boost your test score. one project due every week (usually), two midterms, one final. relatively easy!
Great professor. Clear, organized, and willing to help.
Laura is a fantastic professor. She's enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. I knew nothing about programming when I started, but I came eager to learn. Show up to class EVERY day; missing a lecture on one line of code can turn into hours of figuring it out yourself at home. Her exams are open book and open notes. One group presentation project.
So sweet, always willing to help. Attendance helps in the long run because everything on the test is from class; the hands on is engaging, but the other half is just powerpoint, which she makes clear does not completely cover test material. Review before the test do the hw & you will succeed.
She's a really nice person and always willing to help. Teaches Access and Excel content very well. However when it comes down to the theory she's extremely lacking. The text book has 50page dense, redundant chapters that are tough to get through and you have to teach yourself everything. If you're interested in this - there shouldn't be a problem
What a great professor! I was nervous about this class since I know nothing about programming. Now, I'm pretty good at it! Her teaching style is very effective. Homework is not mandatory, but if you want to prepare for the test, than do it! Tests are open book with one cheat sheet. Highly recommended!
By far one of my favorite professors at CSUF. I came in knowing absolutely nothing about programming but she made the materials incredibly easy to learn. Aced that class with little effort. She gives you credit for at least trying (so your programs don't always have to work). Group project is fun but choose your members wisely!!
Difficult class but professor is willing to help! Doesnt teach the text book very well so you will have to teach yourself. There's a lot of homework but it helps for the midterms. 2 midterms with 2 parts each, a paper, 10 hw assignments and 1 final! Be prepared to put some effort into this class!
One of the best professors at CSUF! So incredibly nice and wiling to help. Understanding and fair teacher.
She clearly knows her material but it does not translate to her teaching. She explained the Access and Excel thoroughly but she lacked focus on the theory/book aspect of the class, which everyone had a hard time on. She is nice, but you have to stay on top of things! It could be confusing in the beginning because there is a lot going on!
Class consist of review of homework and then lecture followed by hands on mini projects. I recommend attending every class as it makes the material easier to understand. This goes specially if you have not taken a programing course before or if you are not an Information Systems Major or a Computer Science Major. Professor is Highly Knowledgeable
< THIS.
Organized course online. Weekly discussion due Wed, assignment due Friday(time consuming), quiz friday(on book), 1 group project(not worth much), extra cred, 2 exams consisting of a book based exam and hands on with Access or Excel. Class is a breeze if you just do the work everyweek. Exams you will need to look over the book and follow her guide
Lots of in class and at home practice with Excel and Access assignments, which is the easy portion of the exams. However, MIS portions are very difficult. Doesn't focus enough on MIS in class or in homework, even though she weighs this part more on the exams. LOTS of terms to memorize. Some extra credit. One easy paper.
Great professor! So easy and very helpful. She is super nice and really cares about her students. Offers lots of extra credit. It is a lot of work but the work is not hard. Tests are exactly what you learn in class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Excel/Access projects are tedious but as long as you finish them it's an A. You MUST read the textbook to prepare for the multiple choice portion of the test. The material is difficult & the questions are tricky. Prof is very sweet and willing to help. Computer portion of the class is easy and straightforward, just make sure to keep up with reading
She is a very nice, helpful professor. I took her online and she replies to emails quickly & is willing to help with whatever you need. If you have a mac, this class will be hard for you to take online (access and excel are different). do your assignments, discussion boards, and quizzes and you'll be fine. Make sure to study for MIS portion of exam
I am not good with computers so this class was challenging. She is very generous when grading gives partial credit and basically doesnt grade the hw if you turn it in is an A BUT she doesnt really teach and you have to learn from the book her powerpoints for MIS are a waste of time since your never tested on them. READ MIS and DO ALL THE HW
Computer part of class was fairly easy. Grading is generous and she offers extra credit. Definitely attend class to score easy participation points and do the Hwk for easy points! MIS is very difficult! MUST READ the text as she tests heavily but does not teach it as much. Very knowledgable in excel/access, sweet and willing to help! Recommended!
This is the 1st time for me to regret taking students opinion about a prof. its not fair to rate her based on how much extra credit u got!. Im sure she knows the subject but she doesn't teach it v well. ISDS is easy but she make it so hard. its not fair to have challenging exams while not teaching it very well.
okay teacher, her lectures are boring, a lot of excel and access hw, a lot of extra credit and the MIS tests are hard but the excel and access tests are easy so they balance out and if you study the textbook, you will be just fine
She's a decent professor and the class wasn't too hard. Offers extra credit and the workload isn't too bad. Lectures are painfully boring and not worth the time to attend, as you will need to read through the chapters for the exams either way. Computer part of the class is easy, MIS part is difficult. Overall, fairly easy class.
The tests were definitely everything that you learned in class, but she teaches EVERYTHING on the tests, and won't move on until EVERYONE knows what she's talking about. I would take her again if she teaches other classes.
Professor Marcoulides is extremely organized and makes ISDS easy for an online class. There are assignments that need to be done on a PC weekly that take 2-3 hours as well as weekly quizzes, but it is manageable. There are numerous extra credit opportunities. Cannot be done on a Mac (without Parallels). Tests are on campus, same as quizzes.
Really willing to help students out. Knows the material very well. Made me decide to pursue programming as a career.
BY FAR THE BEST PROFESSOR!! Take her! I had her for ISDS 265 Online, getting a minor in business. She is so straight forward and helpful. Tells you exactly what she wantsexpects. Online quizzes and discussions. Working with Access and Excel. 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 easy paper. Yes, you have to read, but the textbook is so easy to understand.
Be prepared to come to class and have your reading done ahead of time. Much of class time is used for programming, she does go over a power point but jumps right in to the programming. There are 4 open book quizes that are multiple choice and a programming problem. No exams other than the final. You have one group project and presentation. Easy class.
Laura Marcoulides is an amazing professor! She makes access and excel easy to understand and is always happy to help. She is so patient and so nice. She goes over the material before exams so you know what to expect. I RECOMMEND HER!!
Gives many participation points so go to class! Also offers extra credit. She makes Access and Excel very simple. The MIS section is slightly difficult but read the book and you'll be fine. There is 1 homework assignment per week but they are easy! She is very kind and approachable.
About 20 EC points available. Saved my grade. Excel and Access are easy with some practice, but MIS is tough. Cumulative final consists of MIS and Excel. MIS lectures on 1 day and AccessExcel labs on other day. Sometimes she'll do AE hw with you in class. Must buy textbooks. Doesn't except late work. 1 easily graded paper. Kind lady.
The class lectures are not helpful, but are necessary to attend since this is when you learn all the excel functions. The exams are tough, study for them by reading the book and going over examples done during class. Answers any questions during office hours. Study for the exams, they are difficult. Homework is due the night before the exam.
Best prof ever I like her so much, wish she teaches ISDS 361B
EASY. Allows a sheet of paper, front/back of notes for exams. Show up to class and you'll do fine. Lectures aren't that boring because we end up doing something on excel, you need to pay attention to those. First test and Excel Lab easy to land an A Second and third test material, need to show up for class. Has 1 short report.
SUCH a sweet lady. super nice and pretty soft spoken but you can tell she LOVES statistics. online homework and quiz, tests were on the computer. must know excel.
Very straightforward class, especially since they changed the courses (361A-B). Makes it pretty interesting, she does go kind of fast when making the excel sheets. If you aren't paying attention for 5 minutes you can end up being several functions behind. Would recommend, made me change my concentration.
I really enjoyed this professor. Everything in the course is mandated by the department but she works within those guidelines to make it as painless and understandable as possible. She is clear and nice and caring and is always there to help, whether it be in person or by email. I would highly recommend her!
If you want to understand the material, TAKE her. She is the only one can help you understand it. NO TEXTBOOK NEED. Homework on Cengage, 1 short report and 4 exam. The final is cumulative. Be ready to practice a lot until you remember it. One page of note during exam.
Professor Marcoulides has a wonderful way of breaking down the material. Her lectures are very clear and specific. Her grading criteria is also clear. Overall, I strongly believe that she is the best professor I've had so far at CSUF. I would definitely take her again.
first off she is really nice and cares if her students get the material I would take her again. she gives you a page of notes for midterms and final so she's pretty clutch
Test requires you to actually study or at least review, allows notes on exams, offers extra credit, is super nice and willing to help! The only problem is that you get NO partial credit at all, make sure your numbers are perfect or you lose all points. Round properly, calculate properly, study correctly and the A is there. Best teacher!!
She is an amazing professor. She doesn't take attendance but missing class is crucial because we learn so much information so fast. PowerPoint/exams/hwk are all department but her lectures are spot on. She teaches you exactly what you need to know and exactly how to do it. I definitely recommend this professor.
Professor Marcoulides is one of the best professors I've had at CSUF. She cares about her students and really wants them to understand the material. It's a tough class with a heavy workload, but the knowledge and experience you gain with Excel makes it worth it. Her classes often fill up right away, but I advise you to wait for this professor.
This teacher is amazing no lie. So many people struggle with this class and she makes it so easy. Easy A. No attendance required but show up bexause the excel functions she teaches you are key to pass the test. Page of notes front and back for exams. Easy homework. Great professor overall. I would not recommend this class except with Laura
Took this class at another University and did pass due to the HEAVY accent and poor lectures. This class was VERY easy to understand and hands on using Excel while she lectures. Homework is easy if you go to class and can usually finish in class with the lecture. One paper to write and was completed in class also. One page notes allowed for tests
There are only two awesome professors in the ISDS department. One of them is Professor Marcoulides. This professor really cares about her students. Exams are difficult, but attend her office hours and you'll do fine in the class. She helps out students with excel. I just wish that she would teach all the required ISDS classes for business majors.
She is a very professional and nice lady. She knows the material very well and will do what she can to assist you with any misunderstandings. The material starts off easy but then gets more tricky as the content builds upon what you learn since the beginning. The first test was hard, second was "so-so" and the final is cumulative, which was tough.
The class is programming in C#. The book is only needed for homework, so you can share. Tests are made up of multiple choice, flowcharts, and coding. They are open note (1 page+book). Get a PDF of the book (old version is fine for this) and you can Ctrl+F for answers to MC. 7% for 7 assignments, 48% for 4 quizzes, 25% final, 20% group project.
This class is boring, and she makes it 10x worse. The entire semester we did a project that teaches you absolutely nothing valuable. The exams are EXTREMELY difficult. Read every single chapter your tested on+HW+Quizex to get a decent grade. If youre behind at all, she gives no time to catch up. Take her, but expect to do a lottttt of studying.
she is one of the best professors in IS dep. Show up to class, do your HW and Class work and your will pass. EASY grader. Group project is hard but fun. the final is a killer, but she gives a very clear instruction about it. if you put effort and time you will get an A. I wish she teaches more classes.
She's a great professor. The first 3 quizzes were pretty easy but the final and the project is pretty hard. Towards the end of the semester it required a lot of work. Do not slack off or else you'll fall behind. She is always willing to help students during class so don't hesitate to ask questions if you are lost.
Very tough class, one of the most challenging I've taken. However, Professor Marcoulides is patient, kind, highly accessible outside of class, and willing to stay after class to explain complicated subjects. The grading is tough but fair. Great learning experience.
I like Prof. Marcoulides . She did a good job explaining the material & is very friendly. The only part I think could use improvement is the project: some of the directions were not specific. Maybe she wants the project to be flexible, so it depends on how she grades it--created anxiety though. I highly recommend. Tests are straight forward.
Everything about this class was easy except the final and group project. The group project took us about 70 hours to complete. The project was a lot of work but the end result was really cool. Shes an amazing professor so during the final, make sure to ask for help. You'll need it. Especially since theres a cheat sheet for all exams.
Absolutely recommend. The way she structured the course was effective and appreciated the group project was mostly done in class. Her tests are painless with her study guides. Hw & quizes not bad. If you don't like attending class this isn't for you because there are points that will hurt you if you miss consistently. Overall straightforward.
Laura is a very sweet lady. Her lectures are very organized and clear. Gives clear instructions. 3 quizzes, 1 final and 1 group project. I learnt a lot in this class. Also, this class is very interesting. I highly recommend her!
Consider yourself blessed if you get a spot in her class. If you go to class, actually pay attention, and put in some effort you will pass one of the most failed class at CSUF (over 50% failure rate). The same can't be said for the rest of ISDS profs. Exams 1 & 2 easy pass. 3rd exam (before the final) is hands-down one of the hardest I've ever took
She is honestly such a sweetheart. She truly cares about her students and wants them to pass. I went to her office hours at least once a week and she Was always willing to help! That class itself is pretty tough but she makes its easier. First test was okay, second test was pretty tough and final was not so bad. 80 percent of class are tests!
Marcoulides is absolutely amazing and genuinely cares for all of her students and wants to see each and every one succeed. Lectures are slow paced and clear. She will stop lectures to answer any and all questions to make sure everyone understands before moving on. Had her for 309 and 361A. Cannot recommend her enough. Take her classes!!
PLEASE TAKE HER!! she is absolutely AMAZING! she will not move onto the next subject until the class understands the material. responds to emails quickly. offers extra credit and exams are doable as long as you study. it is not hard to get an A because she will help you get that grade up PLEASE TAKE HER
This professor is amazing. She goes over the PowerPoints and then goes ahead and does practice problems with the whole class. I recommend to take notes while going over the problems because the exams contain similar problems. She is so nice and patient. I wish she taught 361B.
Extremely nice/ helpful professor. Group project is challenging but if you have a good group its fun. 1st test is easy and gets harder from there. Final is killer but she is EASY grader . My program didn't run and I still got an A (As long as your code is somewhat relevant) Take her is possible shes better than other professors.
Best ISDS361A teacher ever. She really cares about the students and teaches very well. She emphasizes with students alot and makes sure we understand the material. The tests arent that hard if you study + you get a cheat sheet. She offers alot of extra credit and the hw online is less than 10 questions. I wish I could take her for ISDS361B,TAKE HER
She's one of the kindest professors I've ever had. I was scared to take this class, but she goes step by step on everything. As long as you write it all down on the cheat sheet she lets you have, there's no way you can't pass the exams. She is just very clear on what will be tested and how to get your answers that the class felt like a breeze.
Just completed the final exam, Professor Laura is one of the best professors at CSUF! Very caring individual. Her teaching style is awesome! She explains every chapter very clear by means of providing step by step solutions. This class is not too difficult, but my advice is to always PRACTICE! I highly recommend her class. :)
earn extra credit by showing up for clas, this helped ALOT for final grades. She is one of the most understanding and caring prof I have taken so far. Gives a lot of practices for the tests that way students are prepared. I highly recommend her and wish she taught more ISDS classes.
She really wants you to succeed. I don't know how to put it, shes a master at her job. pretty extraordinary person honestly
Online class was so awful. Don't take her for online class, you will do everything by yourself. Take Prof. Skordi instead.
dropped the class after the first exam.
Taking her class because of a lot of compliment here, but in fact, exams are not same with homework. HW is super easy, while exams require you understand every details from her lecture. It's not enough for you to do well on exams if just follow her lectures, you need to watch a bunch of other videos which she gave you from another lecturers.
Please read all the compliments here carefully, many dislike on them. Taking her class because of the overall high rating, and in fact, our first exam got the average of 75%, the papers got 60%. Extremely tough grader, avoid her with any cost.
Prof is caring and always open for questions. Uses excel heavily and her lectures are so clear and precise. The end of all lecture has step by step notes breaking down how to do every step of the problem WHICH IS A LIFESAVER. Practice reviews are just like the exams. Watch her lecture and take notes. Its a easy A , if you put the effort.
I was able to do really well in the class by just watching her videos she provides. She's pretty clear on how to prepare for an exam as well as her grading criteria for the project. If you have any questions, she'll answer them with clarity! Although she does recommend to buy the book, it's not really necessary because her lectures are pretty clear
Never believe the compliments, just look at how many dislike for each. Homework is super easy while the tests are extremely tricky. She grades the project really really hard, take her and you'll know. Good luck!!!!
I didn't like Prof. M. at first because I wasn't watching her lecture videos and only taking notes on her slides. The only reason anyone could possibly not pass would be if they don't watch the videos. Unfortunately I found this out on the last two chapters, but my gosh her videos are prime! She gives great tips and doesn't have too much homework.
She is the nicest ISDS professor you will ever know. Just take her. You will pass this class.
attendance is extra credit if you attend all of them. grades pretty easily
She is amazing professor! Her zoom lectures, video lectures, power point slides, etc. have been so helpful in getting through this tough subject (math is not my strong suit). She really cares about her students and is passionate about her role and what she teaches.
She was very clear and straightforward, she is also understanding if you have something come up. Highly recommend! Not good at this subject and got an A.
Do not take anyone else! Her lectures are incredible and cover exactly what you will be tested on. She allows a cheat sheet for exams and gives you breakdowns of exactly what will be covered. Show up, put in a bit of effort and you will do well. She genuinely cares about her students, and is clear on expectations for success.
If you get the chance to take her class, DO IT. She is very organized and communicated clearly. Her teaching style is great and to the point! As long as you put in some work, you will pass.
She is an amazing professor! Her lectures are very clear and helpful.
She may be the best professor I have taken at Cal State Fullerton. She is fair, student friendly and goes the extra mile. Truly a great professor!!
Professor Laura is a great professor! I definitely recommend her. I found her class to be pretty easy, although her video lectures can pile up at times. The lectures are fairly easy to understand, and she allows a cheat sheet for exams. I would definitely take her again!
She is the BEST Professor for this course. 2 midterms and 1 final but she provides a practice test for each exam and they are similar to the real test. But you need to watch and understand her posted video to get a good score. Attendance is not mandatory but it counts for extra credit.
Professor Laura is such a caring and inspirational professor. I was very nervous to take this class since I, myself struggle with statistics. But with professor Marcoulides' help, I was able to improve and understand better. Attendance isn't mandatory instead she gives extra credits. I really recommend her she made the class really fun!
