Super nice professor. Does a good job of communicating the material and has online video lectures incase you forget how to do something. If you go to class and pay attention theres no reason you shouldn't get at least a B. Will take time to work with you if you don't understand; Probably one of the best "office hours" professors I've had at WCUPA.

Professor Pyott is a great professor. She takes the time to explain the material and gives you ample opportunity to get a good grade. The only annoyance I would say (but this is with every class) is that you had to purchase around a $100 access code to complete homework and also a $10 subscription to statcrunch which is necessary to take the tests.

She is a great professor. I had her for STAT and she explains things clearly and thoroughly in the lecture. She also reserves certain days for labs so you just do that work and she walks around to help. She does attendance randomly. You have to but the online access code and access to STAT crunch for the tests.

Pyott was one of my favorite math professors at WCU. The material she taught had practical meaning which helps it stick better IMO. In-Class tests are note based so make sure you take notes. The take home portion of tests can be very tedious depending on the sections covered (takes multiple hours). She is caring and very in touch with students.

Easy class overall and good professor. Sometimes the minitab assignments were a little confusing but she was always willing to answer any questions in and out of class. Tests weren't terrible, usually a mix of multiple choice, short answers, and reading output, sometimes there was a take-home portion. Really nice person overall, I enjoyed her class

This class should be a synchronous class like it was in the beginning when professor Xiu taught it. Prof. Pyott took over after a few weeks and is a nice woman, but learning this way is not ideal and I dont feel like I got the experience I paid for, unfortunately. Save this class for the Fall if we go back in 2021

STA 200 with Professor Pyott was amazing. She is funny and caring, and really explains things in a way that is easy to understand. Don't need to know what this value means? She'll tell you. Is this specific question is on the exam? She'll tell you. Also, her videos she made for between class sessions are fun and had me laughing.

Experimental Design is an easy class. You talk about how to effectively design an experiment before doing it yourself in a big collaborative group, and a report on the experiment acts as your final. Most of the class in the first half of the semester are lectures, then the rest is a big discussion about the experiment

She has a temper, and she stormed out of the class when she felt like no one was participating??? She said she hasn't taught since 2004 and it shows. I wouldn't recommend taking her if you have never taken statistics before. She is very nice but her teaching style is no bueno for beginners. Save yourself the headache.

STA 201 was an easy stats polling class where we sent out a state-wide political pole and did a simple breakdown on a topic or question of our choosing. Then we made a poster and were able to present it at the end of semester research day. This helps when building a resume and having research to tie to it.

Also had for 200 & 320. Pyott is my favorite prof in the math department, she's very likeable and she knows her stuff and is able to communicate it in a way that makes sense in multiple ways.
