Shes is very easy and understands her students. She had a bad experience with public speaking so she treats her students how she wanted to be treated when she took the class. She send you the exact same tests that she gives out in the class. The HW assignments are easy and the speeches are a breeze. Take her shes the best at what she does !!

Best professor I could've taken! The first half of the semester is small homework assignments and quizzes on the chapters but she gives you the quizzes way in advance, you just have to find the answers in the book and study. (SO EASY, I SWEAR!) Speeches aren't harshly graded, she is very fair, and by the end you will be so much more confident!

She is the speech teacher to take. Professor Laura is amazing, nice, easy to talk to, and fun. Avoid "um",'' like'', and''so'' during speeches. I loved each one of her class. Easy A as long as you do all your speeches. Gives tons of extra credits. there are homework but very easy.

Professor Laura raymond, is an AMAZING speech teacher. I believe is the BEST teacher at broward college, she's very helpful and if your nervous about giving your speeches she encourages you and says things like "you can do it" , "you got this" and etc. definitely will recommend this professor, love her DEARLY and she is very SWEET and fair .

Um, Professor Raymond is like the best! :) Just beware of using "like"and "um" during your speech because you will lose points. She helped me realize how ridiculous I sound speaking that way and I truly appreciate her. Take her, you will not regret it.

Professor Raymond is by far the best teacher at Miami-Dade College. She helps the students to understand how to give a speech and cares about the outcome. She will give you pointers on to become better at it.. I wish all of the Professor could just take a look at how she keeps everyone active in her class and take a lesson from that.

Professor Raymond is by far the best professor ever. A lot of quizzes, but you take them home, read the chapter and answer. At the beginning of the semester she could come across as tough but she's nothing like that. There are a lot of speeches, but only 1 outline. not too much to write either. just get ready to speak. Take her, you will love her.

She is truly one of the best professors I've encountered at BC. At first she may come off as harsh, but that is completely misleading. She is so kind and supportive. I am one who dreaded taking a speech class because I get nervous to speech in front of an audience, but she really helped build my confidence. I don't want this class to end!

Professor Raymond is a good professor, it's a speech class so everyone was nervous (especially me) but she's very understanding when it comes to that and at first she seems harsh and mean but she's really not. Her grading and what she expects from the class is clear and to the point, the speech's aren't long and she provides all the information.

Prof. Raymond is such a great person! She is one of the few professors at the school who genuinely cares for her students and their success. She makes public speaking a breeze, even for those who have barely spoke to anyone outside of close friends and family. Easy assignments, take home quizzes, and clear grading criteria. Amazing professor!

I just finish her summer class, the BEST of the BEST. A couple easy speeches, take home test, a fun group presentation for the final and she grades on attendance so make sure you come to class ON TIME. I really enjoyed her class it was phenomenal.

Took Prof. Raymond for public speaking and don't regret it. Makes it clear what she expect from you, gives you time to work on our speeches and makes you feel comfortable in the class. Did have one group assignment for final, but gives you class time to work with partners as well. Highly recommend taking her!

I highly suggest you take her. I did her intro to public speaking class and her class was full of greatness!! We did around 6 speeches I think. I hate public speaking and I was so nervous but you will love this class overtime and learn how to overcome your stage fright. Don't worry, just be prepared for your speeches and you'll pass easily.

Professor Raymond is great! SPC1024 was my first college course ever and I felt so welcomed. She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She's super funny and confident, so taking the class pretty enjoyable. Would definitely recommend if this is your first time taking a public speaking class!

I took this Prof. in my first semester of college and I don't regret it, she is so sweet , understanding, &funny. However, if I could change one thing it would be her grading. Let me explain, she doesn't post every grade on D2L so you won't always know your exact grade ) but you will always be notified of tests and quizzes. OH! & LOTS OF SPEECHES.

Best class ever! I couldn't wait to get to get to her class as she was funny but straightforward at the same time. I liked how we weren't so focused on the textbook, we only used it a couple times, the majority of the class is spent giving speeches and she doesn't give a specific topic for your speeches.

She is very nice and funny. You do about 8 speeches ranging from 2-5 minutes. Easy even if you are nervous. She prepares you. Take home quizzes. Only one test in class in groups. One group final. Gives out many extra credit opportunity. She acts like Ellen Degeneres. I got a 100%. You must present your speech, nerve racking, but easy topics.

I was afraid to take speech because I hate public speaking, but Prof. Raymond was awesome! The first speech was nerve wrecking but she made it easy. She the class interact with each other so we know our peers which helped when I gave a speech because we were in this together. She gives good feedback and her classes are super fun.

Professor Raymond is an outstanding teacher and had turned what I had thought would be a nightmare of a class into a fun, growing experience. It quickly became clear that professor Raymond is one who cares immensely for her students. You are not permitted to read speeches, which I dreaded at first but I can say overall helped me. BEST professor you will have. I am the person who was beyond terrified to take this class. At the beginning of this class I was probably one of the last people to go up and present my speech. However, by the end of this class I become one of the first people to go up. This teacher has taught me so much that I finally feel feel comfortable.

AMAZING PROFESSOR, I was so nervous to take this class, on my first couple of speeches I did horrible. After time went on she made me more confident to go out there and do a 6 min speech with barely any likes/ums! (she's got strict on the likes and ums later on in the semester ) 10/10 would take again

Hands down, my favorite class ever taken at Broward. Professor Raymond helps you gain your confidence and comfort in front of an audience. She is hilarious and gives the best lectures/advice and the work that she assigns is extremely easy. Take her, you won't regret it!!!!

Gives out a schedule at the beginning of the semester saying exactly when and how you'll do things. first half of semester is really textbook heavy with weekly quizzes, but you do them at home and bring them in. Caring and hates to see students stress. Quizzes were take home on paper (done w textbook) and midterm was done in class (W a group). Did around 5 speeches during whole semester, she grades very fairly and will make her expectations very aware beforehand. Final was a project solely based on making her laugh. TAKE HER! YOU'LL LEARN AND HAVE FUN!

If I could take this class again with the classmates I had I would. Professor Raymond helped me break my shy shell from taking public speaking with her and I was able to give a toast in front of my family this summer. Her lectures are wonderful and not boring whatsoever especially when the class participates. Over all I'm so glad I chose her for this class wonderful class and amazing teacher.

Super fun public speaking class. Loved how all speeches I got to choose nothing was assigned strictly. Gives general topics, meet the time requirements and has general understanding for textbook for one test whole semester. Grades harsh for likes and ums, just practice talking in general and wont happen often. Loved her

Even if you have the hardest of time with public speaking, take her class. She is caring and extremely accessible even outside of class. There were some extremely introverted and shy people in my class and no one got below a B. Excellent educator. All you have to do is participate to the best of your ability.

Prof Raymond is an amazing person overall! Her class is very fun and really built my self confidence up to give a speech. She is very clear about the directions and how to do things. It's practically impossible to not get an A if you just do the work and put effort into your speeches. If i could take her class forever I would. I highly recommend.

Really nice professor. The quizzes and tests are straight from the textbook. The speeches are straight forward with the rubric. The only thing is that 3 missed classes is a drop of one letter grade. Besides that it's a really fun class and I would recommend this professor.

Best speech teacher. She's so easy and super nice. I loved going to her class despite it being early in the morning. Her grading is easy and straight forward. You have to purposefully not try, to even get a B in her class. She's also very understanding since she used to hate doing speeches herself. She also gives extra credit which helps even more.

I took Professor Raymond for Public Speaking as a 6-week course. We didn't need to buy the textbook, she told us to just sign up for Chegg to get the book. All you need to do is show up to class and watch out for your "like" and "um" while presenting and you'll be fine. Practice your speech a few times before presenting and you'll have an A.

Professor Raymond was the best teacher I have ever had by far. This class is extremely easy and takes very little effort. If you are scared to get up and speak in front of the class, dont worry, she is super chill and will help you learn to relax. She is by far the sweetest lady and helps a lot with reviews, group work and speeches.

She is really great, if you have her, you will enjoy the rest of your semester. She gets prepared on how to present your speeches and how to execute them. She moves slightly fast, but nothing absolutely crazy. But by the end of the class, you should be able to understand everything. She is also really funny and down-to-earth with students.

Only a few quizzes in the beginning of the semester, they come straight from the book. 1 Cumulative test, straight from the book. A few speeches that arent hard you just need to practice and you will get an A

I hate public speaking class like everyone does, but I love Prof. Raymond. She makes this terrifying class as painless as possible, and might actually be the best human being in the world. She just has an awesome, infinitely good-person vibe, and I wish I could be friends with her forever after the class ends. Forget other profs and take her class.

She made even the most timid students feel comfortable and was patient with everyone. I did not think I needed this class but she made me a better speaker. If we had any questions or concerns she answered them promptly.

She is a teacher for the students. She has specific grading criteria yet she's very forgiving. All you have to is show up to class and show her you put some type of effort in your work and you should pass easily.

Her class was super easy. There are a lot of speeches that you have to do in order to pass the class but they are not bad at all. The longest speech you have to do is 6 minutes and she starts off with 1 minutes speeches and slowly goes up. There are quizzes but everything is in the book. She is super nice and has a lot of humor.

Professor Raymond is the best professor in the entire school, and I wish I could have taken her for another semester. She really connects with her students and helped me get over my stage frieght. She doesn't use the book that often so it is not worth purchasing it but that's about it.

Cool lady most of the time. But she has an unnatural fixation: 90% of her grading is on how many filler words ('um', 'like', etc.) you use, not so much the content and delivery of your speeches. That's not how most ppl IRL judge a speech. Some filler words are natural unless you want to sound like a robot. But this prof wants you to use 0 of them.

She is a great professor and doesn't make you work as hard as the other public-speaking professors. She helps as much as she can, and she gives a million chances for extra credit.

Easy class is willing to pass you as long as you do the assignments

Honestly, I thought I was not going to enjoy this class because of Professor Raymond's strong personality. By the end of the semester, I adored her. She is particular and clear about what she expects from each assignment, leaving you knowing EXACTLY what needs to be done to get a good grade. She is great, please take her.

Professor Raymond was the most elite professor I have ever had. The assignments are easy, and she gives an insane amount of extra credit. She's super outgoing and friendly and just a great person. I got 101% in her class with little effort. I beg you to please take her class; you will regret it if you don't!

Easy work. Memorize your speeches. Plan your schedule well, she only allows about 5 missed classes. My only problem was that she was too picky on speech topics. For example, one of the topics was a persuasion speech, she denies topics if she has a different opinion on it. Pretty ironic that she does that when the topic is to literally PERSUADE.

Best professor I've had thus far, would take again. Easy assignments, extra credit was given, group work, etc. Hard class to fail when she's always willing to give you a grade as long as your work is completed and turned in.

Her online class is very easy. In this class, there are 14 very, very easy questions and one group project that it's a literally very easy project. One more thing is this online class, you do have to show yourself on camera because the professor grades that as you attending class. If you do not show yourself on camera, she will mark you absent.
