THE WORSE PROF EVER!!!!! Witch...Don't listen to what anyone else said...do not take her class!

This is seriously one of the worst professors I have ever had. She is extremely unhelpful, sarcastic, acts as though her opinions are the only thing that matters; it does not matter what any other psychology professor may have taught you, they are simply wrong. And is obsessive compulsive about grammar. Gives major deductions for spelling mistakes.

Have her for an online class. She expects you to complete a test EVERY week on Tuesday ONLY, regardless of if that Tuesday is a holiday and the campus does not have class. She only grades very harshly and her test questions are extremely hard. Her overview of the material is not helpful either. Do NOT take a class with her if you want to pass.

RUDE and MEAN! never want to help her students. All she wants is fail you or have you drop from her class

Very mean. Screams and curses at you. I had to drop the class because she stressed me out too much and I couldn't get anything done.

Loud, repetitive, unprofessional, rude. Basically ignores students with questions.Ive actually seen her tell students to shut up several times.I think she uses her classes to feed her ego. I would avoid her at all costs, if it wasnt too late i would drop this class in a heartbeat

I switched from her class as soon as I got her I tried to ask her a question and she snapped and yelled at me. She should not be teaching! She is very rude. I switched and got an A with another professor.

Rude teacher I took online lifespan development with her. I emailed her a question about if I could come see her and when her office hours were and she told me to check the link titled "scalettas stuff" like you couldn't just tell me. Ridiculous never emailed people back and very very rude.

One of the rudest professors i have come across. Tried to ask a question during lecture that related to the material and was cut off and brushed aside. Huge ego and talks about herself and her achievements too much. Does not email backpoor office hours. Switched to another professor and got an A. Would not recommend this professor to anyone.

rudest professor I've ever met in my life. Does not put up powerpoint slides so if you are sick or will be out good luck because she simply does not care about her students whatsoever. She needs to get a hobby.

Horrible demeanor very condescending and rude. Always answers any question with "read the syllabus" or "read the contract". Even my academic advisor said shes a b-word. Biggest part of success in learning is the instructor. Shes not good at teaching in my opinion. Has a huge chip on her shoulder.

Terrible at grading, irrelevant feedback, easy class but shes not great

Her class is harder than Anatomy and Physiology, only a few grades making it impossible to bring your grade up, tests are very difficult and majority of the material is not covered, notes are useless, expects you to write everything she says during a lecture. We get it it is college, but she expects way to much for what she gives.

If you have the option to take the class with a different professor, do it.

Terrible professor, take the class with a different prof. What's on the quiz isn't in the notes or in the readings. Unclear grading criteria for discussions, they're a big chunk of your grade. Graded on few things, inquisitives, 3 Discussions, quizzes for each unit, hard to get your grade up if you do poorly on the discussions and quizzes.

Worst grader ever. Awful teacher overall. If you have the chance to take the class with anyone else do it. It sucks that teachers have to be that way when they grade.. if you accidental spell a word wrong she takes off points and it adds up... make sure you really watch your spelling and grammar.. she doesn't care.. again worst teacher.

DO NOT take her class. Run don't walk, run, she's a terrible professor. It's not hard material but none of her test questions are in the lectures or the readings. You must be meticulous with your discussion posts. But just don't take her, your average will tank. There really should be a 0 rating

Her online class is super easy but she's a b-word when it comes to making everything the way she wants. But whatever...

DO NOT DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! she is a very harsh grader, very sarcastic , doesn't allow extra credit, the only grades you get are inquisitives ( which are a big pain, there very tedious), and then test and nothing she says in her lectures are on the test! DO NOT take her class

The class itself was not hard the tests were not too difficult since I took it online ,and I got good grades. The problem is that Scalleta has interest in the most ridiculous levels of detail. She is simply a case of a professor who makes a class harder than it needs to be. Scalletta is the professor your High School teachers warned you about.

She was very difficult to work with and did nothing to help me learn the material. I had issues with the school which prevented me from starting the class on the start date. I explained all of this to her as none of it was my fault, it was simply misplaced papers, but she was not understanding and held it against me for the entirety of the class.

This professor is almost impossible to reach, and very rude and condescending when she DOES email you back. Won't answer a simple question or try to work on a problem will just tell you basically "oh well." Class was pretty easy, but I wouldn't take another course with her, on campus or online.

Probably the worst professor I've ever had. Impossible to please on her discussion posts. Grammar matters more than the subject material. Meticulous, condescending, and has a lack of empathy. Run.

Oh man. I have never had a worse professor. The online grading is meticulous, but rather easy to pass. She is just horribly rude. If you ask a question through email don't expect an answer and if you get one DON'T expect it to be kind or helpful. Will simply tell you to just "read xyz again". Beware! And avoid if possible

I rarely post about a professor but let's be real, Scaletta is awful enough to post one. She has high standards but is very vague when giving out instructions, leaving many of us to receive horrible grades. I got a 2/20 for forgetting a link on a discussion board. Honestly, it'd be worth going to an in-person class rather than taking her.

Grades unfairly. She grades not based on psychology alone but on English grammer as well. So even if your answer is correct but you miss a period or comma you get a lot of points off. Totally unfair. I passed English with an A ,yet I failed all her writing assignments.

If you can avoid this professor, please do at all costs. She has a bad reputation at this school for a reason. Be prepared for her to throw her opinions into her teaching, and to grade based off of her concrete rules without flexibility. This class will teach you how to follow her rules more than it will about psychology. She is a waste of time

Like other students posted RUN, DON'T WALK away from registering for any of this professors classes. She likes to insult as she lectures, not students but has zero positive regard to people. Only thing I can say is there are far better instructors out there who give a crap about their students. Thank Goodness I was able to substitute this class

By far the rudest professor I have ever had. I would never recommend her or take anything from her again. You email her a question and she emails back with automatic sass. I cannot believe nccc hired somebody like her. She makes the whole school look bad because of how rude she is.

Comes off very intimidating- suggests you watch an " email etiquette" video before emailing her. Not helpful at all. Grading is very tough & takes off points for misspelled words etc. 1st yr college student & HAD to do online class & she certainly did not make it an easy transformation. Actually turned me off from this college altogether.

Very rude and is not very flexible. Whenever I emailed her to ask a question, she always has an attitude. I emailed her once because I was having difficulty with a chapter and all she said was that I needed to study more and implied that I was stupid. I dont recommend. I will be retaking this class with a different professor next semester.

Worst teacher, not just professor, I ever had in all my years of school. Rude to her students and doesnt care. I have As in every class, every semester and Scarletta claims shes more knowledgeable than her students when in reality she hates her life and makes her students pay for her unhappiness.

Scalletta is extremly rude and inappropriate. I remember her saying something like " I don't care if you pass or fail, I get paid either way". I do not know how she is the psych director at NCCC. She must be a lifer. I wanted to tell her this is a psch class not a grammer class. She is the worst professor that I have ever had in my college career.

Professor Scaletta should not be a teacher at any level. She is overly concerned with her own accomplishments, and communicates inappropriately with students. Her inability to focus on course content makes learning from her incredibly difficult. She should stop being so self focused, and be accessible as a professor. This is what we pay her to do.

Heed the warnings on this page... I didn't and I regret it. Scaletta is the worst. She grades heavily based on spelling and grammar, so if you aren't the best, I'd avoid her class. She also has zero respect for her students. She communicates inappropriately with students over email belittling them after asking a question.

RUN! She cares more about grammar than the actual course material. She failed an ENTIRE class last year. She told a student that she was going nowhere in life and not to forget to put her fries in the bag when she is working at burger king forever. She also once told a class she does not care if they pass or fail because she gets paid either way.

Her exams never matched up with her lectures. She always said "it's about understanding in college, not memerization like in high school" yet her exams were impossible to "understand." I failed just about every exam, so I have no idea how I barely passed with a D-. Avoid all classes with Laura Scaletta unless you are okay with failing.

Absolutely horrible professor. Gives little to no feedback and when the feedback does arrive, it is belittling and confrontational. If you have any other choices when it comes to professors, avoid her at all cost.

Avoid professor Scaletta at all cost. Has no issue with degrading students and feedback on assignments is nothing short of belittling at its finest. If you enjoy feeling small and incompetent, then professor Scaletta is the perfect fit for you! If you want to feel like an actual student and would like to actually learn,choose any other professor!

Very hard class for me, felt like the test are not only about what she teaches in lecture. Definitely would never have a class with her again.

I take this as an online class, when i have emailed her it has taken her over 48 hours to respond which she has started in the syllabus but I find this ridiculous. She graded very harsh no room for extra credit same 3 assignments every week, feel like I do not learn anything because I do not understand anything from the material she give us.

If you did not read this before registering, you need to drop it now. There is no learning. Repeat what the book says, do not add opinions, personal experience, or context. Belittling, demeaning, disrespectful to her students. You will be kicked out of in person class for laughing, chewing gum, etc. How the school allows her to teach is mindblowing

By far the worst professor/educator. I sadly didn't find this site until after I dropped her class. She's a nightmare and can't admit when she's wrong no matter the situation. Steer clear.

Please steer clear of this one. Insanely tough grader. I consistently received A-A+ grades for my discussions in Sociology 101, but in this class my first discussion grade was an F with the same level of writing. Cherry picks even the slightest mistakes. Also, very bad at responding to emails, and even when you get a response it's no help.

I am avoiding one class to take next semester that I would absolutely love simply because she is the professor. I had her for PSY110, there is no leeway and has very rigid grading policies. I took a psych class before and loved it, the material and all, but this class with her has felt so mundane and strict.
