Wow, this instructor was awesome! She gave really interesting lectures which were packed full of memorable information. My grade in the class may not reflect it, but I feel that I learned a great deal from her. Highly Recommended!!!
Amazing! The best history class I have been in. She makes a boring subject so interesting. You don't mind going to class. GREAT teacher. Plus: all tests are take home tests!!!!!
Took this class online. My favorite thing about the class...entire semester's work assigned on the first day (including tests) - totally self-paced! Effective and clear communication. Tests were open-book - mostly straight-forward. Teacher was quick to respond to all emails and was very helpful.

shes passionate about what she teaches and it makes class time worth while! you will love her class, she thinks of ways to make you learn better.
loved this class so much that i'm doing concurrent enrollment with unt to take second half. I took online-best way to go! wonderful teacher--my idol-she's pretty, smart, and loves history and castles as much as me!!
Teacher saturates class with her own political viewpoints, which are liberal to the point of anti-American. Writing skills are poor and tests are not necessarily over what she says they are. Not sour grapes - I got an A - but know what you're in for! On the plus side, there is A LOT of work but it's not really hard, just nit-picky.
SHe is really nice and class discussion is lots of fun but she is a HARD TEACHER!! I had about 3x the amout of busy work in this class than any other. Her tests never really question you over what you studied so be aware of details and trick questions. And be ready for an end project that you will need to start AT LEAST a month in advance
Dr. Woods is one of the best lecturers i have had. She really gets into her information and makes the class fun. She doesnt take ANY late work, but the things she assigns are easy. I recommend her to anyone that still has to take hist.
I took both World Civ. 1 & 2 online and it was the best class! The work was really easy but time consuming. There was lots of interesting discussions that keep you focused. If you want an 'A' take this class.
tough, interesting person, amazing teacher
took this class online, she did not help us at all. was more interested in her vacations than answering questions, would never recommend her
professor. She seems to have an excellent grasp of the material. The class was interesting and not at all difficult. You must read the lectures and the text in order to complete the information but it is not that difficult. This was an online class so little interaction with the professor occurred. I would recommend her.
very hard class but she made it interesting. she is deffinitely good at what she does. normally fun and helpful but occassionally she has her absolutely-no-toleration days.
Very professional, amazing lecturer. Take notes and show to class every day and you will pass. Online assignments are out of the book. Most I've ever learned out of a history class, study for tests and you will pass no problem and if you try hard enough, maybe make an A
Very good teacher, her lectures are always interesting and she knows so many interesting facts. There are only 4 tests, so each one covers a lot of information. Don't take her class if you aren't going to go because you won't do well on the tests. Internet assignments are easy. Great teacher!
loved loved loved her. she is amazing. at least her class was all the online assignments i could have done w/o. but i wouldnt recomend her if you are not interested in really trying. but i learned alot and miss her lectures
Gives a lot of internet assignments. A lot of note taking so attendance is mandatory but not boring. Miss one internet assignment and there is no make up for it. She give a lot of extra credit opportunities compared to my other professor.
Online class somewhat difficult. Early cut off time for assignment. Not reccommended for working class. Take in fall instead of summer session. Many assignments.
Took the class online. Plan on generating a paper trail, but it is an online class and you can complete the assignments just as fast as you wish. Posted lectures were interesting and added to the reading. There was a 3 weeks grace period and then assignments were due every Monday by 1PM...no excuses. Online test were open-book and easy. Recommended
Very easy and surprisingly very intresting. Mostly note taking few homework ass., open book exams, great teacher as long as you want to pass you should.
Brilliant woman! Great lecturer, very helpful and sets out clear standards and expectations. I actually hated her the first few weeks of class, but now I'm signed up for another one of her courses! She's one of my favorite teachers.
World CivII online. I really enjoyed this class, but it is very time consuming for an elective. An assignment, test, and discussion board are due every week. You know the exact questions that are given on the test, but it doesn't mean you'll get a 100. Kinda tough. When doing the assignments give a thorough answer or you won't get full credit.
she is a great teacher and fun to be in class with but if your not ready for her class dont waste your time or hers
Best professor at TCC (NW).
Ms Wood was very sweet she delivered our online class in a clear and interesting way. I learned alot, just be prepared because there is a discussion board, assignment and reading assingment due each week but she gives good breaks to work ahead and we finished the semester 2 weeks early. with an extra credit assignment.
Online. Second class with Dr. Wood and she still impresses me. Very knowledgeable and online class put together very well. Do the work. Submit on time. Easy grade.
She Said that her class was a Totalitarian Dictatorship
This professor is Fabulous! the only thing is you need to pay attention to the news and show up every day because she gives current events quiz's that are unannounced. she's smart and enthusiastic and she told us the very first day she loves her job.
Best history teacher I have ever had, if you pay attention and take notes, you can't fail. She is crystal clear about everything and the way she lectures actually keeps you interested and then when you are taking the test, you can actually recall the things she said in class, helped me a lot on the questions. Complete awesomeness. I reccommend her
she is a great teacher who teaches to everyone and I will take her again
Online VERY time consuming. Wkly: Read 1-3 chap, discussion board over separate reading, assignment over separate reading, 40-50 question test over book and separate notes. Must provide lengthy answers. Test can be printed ahead but questions are difficult and misleading. Actually only 10 wks in the class but I didnt sign up for a fast track class
She is one of the best Prof I have taken. You do need to be in every class in order to get the notes and get a good grade. I am looking forward to taking her next semester!!
Dr.Wood was the best teacher i have ever had!!! her classes are super easy fun and she keeps it intresting and keeps you thinking. all you really need to do is go to class and pay attention. i deffenitly recamend her to everyone!!! TOTAL GREATNESS
I do not suggest taking this class...The online assignments are extremely misleading
(Not sure it that's the right class... Federal Govt.) Dr. Wood LOVE LOVE LOVE her as a person but her class not so much. She loves to talk current events which is awesome but takes time in learning so when test come around it's more work for me because I have to teach myself but re-reading what should've learned in class.
Just finished taking her for history loved the class. passed with an "A" simple as this... GO to class and take notes her test are directly from what she talks about in class don't miss!! she has serveral open books tests but those are not that difficult there open book. higly recommend!
For online class you have a weekly quiz, discussion board, and assignment. The discussion board and assignment are a bit extensive for the given course. Quizzes are generally 50 questions. She expects you to read about 2-3 chapters per week, read additional papers, and watch videos each week. Not crazy about her or her useless, extensive work.
I love this class and Dr. Wood. I took the online course and there is a lot of work to do, but it's very interesting. Dr. Wood is very helpful and you can tell she really cares about the subject.
Love history but her class made me hate it! She is a horrible teacher and not helpful AT ALL!! All she does is talk in class and expect you to take notes and pray you wrote the right things for her test! She talks so unbelievably fast you cant write fast enough. Her online assignments are so misleading and tricky its almost like she wants her stude
Took the online course. This is the worst professor I have taken EVER!She is not helpful and she is rude. Avoid this professor at all cost! Especially if you want to learn history. However if you want to be mistreated, overworked without a purpose, and frustrated...this professor is for you.
Dr. Wood is the greatest professor I have had at TCC. She is very passionate about her subjects as well as knowledgable. She is clear from day one about how to pass and what is expected. Real dedication is needed but if you show up to class, take notes, and study it's easy to pass. I've left all of her classes feeling like I've actually learned.
She knows a lot about government and is probably addicted to the news. The notes she gives in class are basically useless. The test questions are straight from the book. She assigns chapters to read in the textbook and the test answers are right there in the book.
GREAT teacher!!
I thought she was kinda rude at times and was trying to mislead me in assignments. She picks at your first assignments and is overly critical. one of those teachers that wants you to "think outside the box" and when you do, tells you you're wrong. two assignments a week plus a 50 question test. You can work ahead and small extra credit at the end.
Online consumes a LOT of time. Weekly discussion board, 50 question test, and assignment. She was okay. I can't say I wouldn't recommend taking her but it's a lot of work!
NEED THE BOOK, READ THE BOOK!!! the tests are online 100 questions if you read it goes faster. the only thing i didn't like i felt like the college students could not go more in depth when talking about certain things.there are high school students take the class to & there ears are sensitive.
Some questions are EXACT words, others are abstract. So much more work this 2nd semester. one assignment had u read 6 articles. NITPICKY on the assignments, be careful! Too many boring assignments on monuments. I loved her last semester, this semester I feel like she was overly harsh. Gulf of Tonkin assignment was a waste of time.
Prof. Wood is a very passionate teacher and funny. Class is mainly about taking notes, but you better pray you took the right ones !Online assignments are a bit much but easy and she gives more than enough time to complete. Only teacher i've so far that made me feel like i've actually learned something. Recommended if looking for a challenge.
Wasn't the easiest class I've ever taken, but it just took some work to get an A. For those who want a free A, I wouldn't recommend her. The lessons were interesting, the exams were somewhat difficult (even though you can print it out beforehand). Bright side: she responds quickly to questions and looks to improve her teaching abilities.
Alright, I took her class online. It was not bad. However, there are three assigments due every week. There are ten exams, ten assignments and ten discussion boards. Just do the work or you'll be swamped. Read the chapters. It's not hard because the book has all of the answers and the videos she wants you to watch have all of the answers.
Hard teacher but she knows what she is talking about and has a passion for government!! Just make sure you are respectful in her class.
The worst class ever, She talk really fast, her test are usless and very hard and confused. She wants you to know everything in one class and she talks alot about news ot about the class.Test are 130 questions each one and she doesn't care if you pass or fail.
Does not understand that people have other classes. Tries to squeeze too much information into every lesson, discussion board, and test. Knows her stuff but is not great at getting it across. I did more cramming for this class than learning and I don't feel like I walked away knowing any more than I did at the beginning. Obsessed with memorials.
Yes there is a lot of work with a DB, assignment, and tests due every week. The tests come straight out of the book though and the assignments and DB's come from a passage that you are supposed to read and just answer questions. Do the work or you will fall behind and get frustrated. I took 5 other classes with this and still easily managed an A!
Took online First off, you must have the book! She allows you to see the test before you take it & all the answers to the ?'s are found in your reading of the chapter. Test questions are VERY hard though so you do need the book to succeed. The assignments are very long with about 8-10 ? per assignment. A is definitely attainable just requires effor
I'm currently taking her for Government and she is one of the best professors I have EVER taken. All her tests are online and OPEN book. Best thing about her is that I'm actually INTERESTED in what she has to say. She is very passionate and if every professor/teacher were more like her there would be more sucessful and happy students!
I took her for both of my history classes, she is tough, but she lets you know what she expects. If you stay on top of the assignments, take good notes, and study for the tests you'll do great.
Dr. Wood has a quiz, disc. board, and assignment all due online every Tue. @ 10:30am. Everything will be fine unless you are a lazy procrastinator. She gives 2 opportunities for extra credit. She is a great teacher who follows up with email after each lesson. Class not on auto-pilot like some online ones. She joins in the disc. boards sometimes.
Dr. Wood was awesome. The work is not easy but it is very interesting. I liked all of her lessons. She got involved with the discussion boards and made sure to follow up each lesson with an email. She responded to emails in a timely manner. Would definitely take her again.
This class is harder than her World Civ 1 class, but doable. Just don't get behind.
GREAT TEACHER!!I HAVE TAKEN HER FOR HIST 1301&1302 AND I AM TAKING GOVT WITH HER NEXT SEMESTER. SHE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND VERY CLEAR ON WHAT TO DO TO PASS THE CLASS, ATTEND CLASS, TAKE NOTES, STUDY FOR TEST, DO EASY ONLINE ASSIGNMENTS, AND SHE GIVES OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXTRA CREDIT. AWESOME CLASS!!!
My favorite professor yet! She makes the lectures so interesting that you want to continue learning more. She is thoroughly versed in her subject and clearly enjoys teaching. The course requires a lot of effort on the student's part but is completely reasonable. Super helpful when you ask! I love Professor Wood and wish I could take her for more!
I love her class!! She is very inspirational! As long as you do the work you will pass! The only thing that does bother me is that she is not very friendly at times on a student-teacher scale and if you give a compliment on her teachings she will not respond with a thank you or anything. Other than that great class
Dr. Wood is highly intelligent. If you take her Blended Learning class it is a really nice way to stay on tract and keep up your grades. All tests are online for the BL version which is great so you can use your book for reference. SHE LOVES POP QUIZZES, so beware! All-in-all she is great teacher!
The Powerpoints and the lectures did not really help me on the tests and the practice quizzes did not really go with the test. Reading the chapters from the book helped me more and the pop quizzes really killed my grade. She makes you do a group project which was annoying trying to get everyone together the whole semester to work on it.
I was truly dreading this government class because I've not ever been interested in government! Man was I taken aback by how down-to-earth she was about government. She is a true joy to listen to in lecture, but be warned: Read your book the days before and of an exam. It's the only way to pass them.
If you are looking for a easy professor who will let you slack in class and still pass you this is NOT the professor for you! But hey! This is college so that's not a bad thing. I really enjoyed Dr. Woods history & Gov class. She teaches well! She does not tolerate late work AT ALL! You must read & work hard. I would take her again all in all.
Extremely condescending from the beginning contact to the end. The syllabus is written in a way I wouldn't talk to my 5 year old. There is a ton of reading, and ridiculous busy work while you do it. But it was clear what was required, even if the info was delivered rudely. The content is interesting.
Fantastic lecturer. I look forward to every class with this professor. She's very intelligent and explains things in a story telling type of way, so class is never dull. She'll make you work for your grades but it's college, you should be working anyway!
Took her online, I'd recommend online. Theres 6 lessons, each lesson has: 1 exam- most answers are on quizlet 1 Discussion board- Need book 1 Assignment- She gives you online resources She lets you work ahead, she gives 2 weeks per Lesson if you email her she is quick to respond. Great teacher.
I had her for Fed Gov't class and she is AWFUL. I had read positive reviews on here so I thought she would be good but no! Pop quizzes over current events, half the class she would just talk to the students up at the front of the room, her lectures don't have anything to do with tests, and she makes you watch video lectures and wastes class time.
Dr. Wood is very passionate about history. She knows almost everything about History. I took her for first part of History and I recommend everyone to her. Her class does require a lot of work so don't think you can slack but if you do all the hw and assignments you should pass. I would definitely take her again.
She gives amazing lectures and she's an awesome professor. The issue I had in her class was that the tests were pre-fab and often had questions that weren't in her lectures. I would definitely take her again though.
Amazing professor! she is so passionate about history and it really shows. Textbook exam and lecture exam are separate so pay attention and do the work and you should easily make a good grade. she also gives extra credit so take that opportunity. seriously such a sweet woman and literally knows just about everything when it comes to history
Awesome Govt teacher. I will be taking her for history. Loves to give Pop quizzes on current events
Absolutely the best history professor you could ask for. If you want and easy A than don't waste your time, but if you actually want to learn a thing or two and enjoy the time you have to sit in a lecture than this is the class for you. I have taken Hist 1301 and 2 and I just wish she had more classes that I could take. Best professor I've ever had
She is good, but expect to write very detailed and long discussions. If you want a minimum of a C on your discussions then the minimum you will do is write 1 post and 2 responses. The tests are very easy... if you use the internet. I personally didn't like this teacher.
This is my second time taking Dr. Wood, I took her for HIST1301 as well. My biggest complaint is that she's now in the fire building, which is a pain if you have other classes. She is an amazing lecturer, and the tests are straight forward, but I wouldn't consider this class an easy A - you will have to work for it. Overall, great professor!
My absolute FAVORITE professor of all time. Her lectures are so interesting and engaging. I looked forward to her class every time, and feel that I have learned so much from her lecture. She gives you all necessary tools to pass her class, and it is up to you to use them wisely. Several extra credit opportunities, and uses a FREE textbook. AMAZING!
Prof. Wood is amazing. If you struggled with learning history in 1301, do yourself a favor and take her for history 1302. She is clear, interesting, and engaging. She makes history make sense by giving you the "why" behind the "what". All in all take this class. I didn't take her for 01, but I should have. TAKE THIS CLASS. The book was free too.
Very intelligent teacher, although you have to pay attention to her lectures! Overall took this class as a blended course. Do the work and you'll pass with an A, YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS TO PASS!!!! Also, she enjoys pop quizzes which I hated but made for good discussions.
She is an amazing professor! The lectures don't even feel like school. She makes them super interesting and i love how she teaches what most professors wouldn't. In other words, she teaches the truth. As far as the work goes, the textbook exams are the worst thing ever. Be prepared to read 4 textbook chapters (in about a month) and take a test.
Mrs wood is the best teacher I've had! She tells history like a story!! Some days you don't want class to end because you could just listen and listen. The textbook exams are hard I barely passed them but I've learned more history than I ever have in my life. You definitely have to work for your grade but I would definitely take her again
At first I was skeptical, but she is amazing. Her lectures are so in depth I don't ever want to leave class. The outside work is definitely tough, and you have to work for your grade, but if you go to class, the lecture work is a piece of cake. I wish I had taken her for all my social science classes.
I loved this class! Yes there is a lot of notes but she makes great power points for you to copy. Time test, open book and online. Ms. Wood really loves what she does and you can tell by the way she teaches the class. She like a walking history book.
She doesn't realize that students are taking other classes at the same time as hers. She outlines exactly what is expected in the syllabus and makes multiple lessons available at a time, but each lesson was ridiculously long. Each lesson consisted of reading 3 chapters, 3 discussion boards, an assignment, multiple videos and an 90 question test.
This teacher is very caring. Her lectures are packed with information that are on power points so much she to write fast. Tests are nice but make sure you study. Also turn in your work on time.
She's a professor you WANT to take! She knows what she is talking about, very good with lectures. All of the test were online, including the Final Exam! BEWARE of Pop Quizzes. Keep up with current events! You really don't need to purchase the text book. If you're needing to take Federal Gov. take her! Absolutely loved her class!!
One of the most current professors I have ever had. She is knowledgeable in all current affairs as well as history, like an encyclopedia smart. She is fair, informative, and cares about students. She gives you the information you need to pass, if you don't it's all on you. I was so happy to have her last semester and recommend her highly.
She really knows her stuff. I really enjoy her lectures because she makes them interesting, kind of more like story telling. I have learned so much in her class. The only people I've noticed that will complain about her are the people who aren't willing to do the work because there are assignments that take time but they helped me learn so much.
If you take her for government stay updated with current events bc that's where her pop quizzes come from. I took her for a blender class and there's no reason why anyone should fail. She lays out everything she asks for and is very clear. She's such an intelligent and passionate professor I loved her .
I hate history and I LOVED this teacher. I'm hoping she does US history online as well. She was super awesome and gave really good feedback and participated with us without interfering in our learning and discussions with each other. I SO recommend people take this teacher she really was the best!
If you want to pass, dont skip class and ALWAYS take notes (lots of notes). Her tests come straight from the free textbook and her lectures, but they are very difficult and she purposely tries to stump you. She is a pretty tough grader when it comes to other assignments. I still got an A, but I had to work REALLY hard for it. Do NOT recommend. her.
She is an amazing Professor. Just do the work and study your current events and you will make an A.
I honestly wish I would've taken a different teacher for gov. I don't really like it in the first place but she doesn't help. Her lectures in class are just repetitive especially since she will talk about ones we have to watch later for online lecture quizzes. She knows a lot and what she is talking about but this class just didn't do it for me.
Her class is doable if anyone chooses to excel. Her current events pop quizzes are at random so make sure you keep up with the news every day. Video lecture quizzes and tests are online so make sure you get those done by the deadline. Plus, there's a group project to research International groups. Overall, she's not that bad.
If you can keep up with a schedule and you can do the work, you can pass!!! Just a little bit of effort!!!
Make sure you have the textbook, the online tests come straight from them! Never skip class, there's pop quizzes (sign up for NYT morning email to pass) over current events, and every point counts, I have only ever made one B in college and barely passed her class with an A! Don't overlook any assignment, the little points will make or break you.
This teacher is out of touch with students and why they take an online class. You have discussions due (with a minimum grade of "C"!!!! for posting and responding to THREE other posts), you have assignments due (these take days), and you have SIXTY question tests that are worded awfully (I assume to hinder cheating, she's big on that).
She is a very easy teacher. Barely any homework but very lecture heavy. As long as you pay attention, you should be fine.
Lets just say she turned a history hater into a history lover. You will have to work for your grade, it won't be handed to you. Her PP's and lecture line up perfectly and she's the best lecturer/prof I have ever had. AMAZING woman. So intelligent. Not an easy class, but her passion/knowledge make it a great experience. Taking her again.
AMAZING lectures! It's like your just listening to stories and taking notes. She describes everything really well and lays out her powerpoints to where it's easy to take good notes. Assignments aren't too difficult and she gives extra credit. Bonus: if she knows you work hard she'll bump your grade up at the end of the semester! Take her class!
Hard grader!!!
Expects a lot from you for first time in college. I did not like her class.
Awesome.
She is really nice professor that I have her class. I understand that she was kind of little tougher grader.
I know she is try remind you if we have a pop quiz please be prepared.
She "teaches" as if you already know the material. She expects you to keep up with current events as she frequently refers to them. She gives pop quizzes and there is not much leiniency in her grading. I felt like I was behind the whole time because she acted as if these things are common sense. Wouldn't recommend if you aren't great at govt.
I know Dr. Wood is great professor but I know she is not going to tell you when is pop quiz in class. I am really like her.
I like her so much. I know her class is lot of work to do. That class online is little difficult to me, because she provide lot of homework. It is hard to able balance your time, job, and break time. If you wouldn't take her then don't take her.
Dr. Wood may sound like she's strict, but really she's just doing her best in helping you succeed. However, you will have to work for your grade, and by that you're gonna have to take handwritten notes in the lectures, and watching additional videos she puts up on Blackboard. I would still recommend her as a History 2 teacher regardless.
Had Professor Wood for the 2019 spring semester, and she was a great teacher. She was enthusiastic about what she was teaching and whatnot. You had to work for your grade and take detailed notes in class, which is why if you don't go to class, you won't do good in tests. Assignments and Quizzes were not hard, but they were time-consuming.
Dr. Wood was great professor! She talk very fast, and she is very exception of you show up in her class every day. You should not plan to skip this class, because you will miss lot and behind too. Lot of notes.
Dr. Wood is nice professor! She seems very strict professor. However, you will take ton of lot note from her lecture, and she give you random of pop quizzes.
Dr. Wood was great and strict professor. You must work effort for yourself, because she will make you work harder in her class.
She seems great professor. However, she is very challenge professor as well, and you must show up if you don't show up then, you will not made up for lecture note too. She is tough too.
Dr. Wood was pretty strict and make you work harder too. She is talk very fast, and you must effort this class. This is not easy to get A.
Very difficult! You have to work hard for your grade, but she is a very knowledgeable prof! Exams are intense so make sure you use her outlines. Once you figure out what she expects from you, it becomes easier. If you like History you will like her class. Better than US History for the 58th time.
I absolutely loved this class, not that much homework however the homework was interesting. Her lectures are amazing and she is very passionate about teaching government. Keeps you interested.
Dr. Wood was best professor at TCC NW. She is very expectation of you work harder this course and want you make your own good grade. If you are not good at challenges this course then this class isn't for you.
Dr. Wood was real gem professor! She is real tough and make you work harder this class during summer course.
Do not take this class as a quick class done in a month or even over the summer. Only take this class if you are taking one class and love history. She teaches as if you are a history major and expects you retain all this information in a short period of time. Her lectures are boring and off topic! She is a history major professor nothing more.
Other reviews are a lie. Took over the summer and the workload was unbelievable. Do not take unless you're a history major. Her lectures are long and all over the place. She posted a review to take notes while watching her lectures and I had to look up most of my answers online. She was all over the place and unhelpful.
Okay, its a HARD class. Like its intense. But the prof knows her stuff and is interesting. Don't take it condensed! I took both her world hist classes. Trust me, you want to use the study guide she provides. If you answer those questions and print it out, you have A's on all the tests. She even recommends you do this. Overall good prof.
I was nervous about taking this class since it is an upper level history class, but Dr. Wood made it very enjoyable. She answers emails in a timely fashion and is always willing to help with any questions or concerns. Make sure you do the study guide! It helps so much. Great class and professor!
Tests were hard omg. I studied so much just to not do well. Hardest class Ive taken at tcc. Other work was ok
I took her class and it wasnt easy. It was online due to coronavirus and she was a tough grader, a lot of tests and assigments to do.
Long boring lectures, and expects you to go home and read/watch hours of video lectures and articles. Class discussion often veers off topic and nothing note-worthy is covered. Not too many assignments but super harsh grader.
Occasionally, her lectures ramble on about off topic stuff so notes have to be taken at home. A lot of assignments (discussions, quizzes etc) but only 2 tests that are online and not proctored. Only meet in class once a week & all assignments are done online. Textbook isnt needed but helps on study guides. Its hard work but I learned a lot!
Lots of homework but assignments were relevant and most completed within 5 hours. Lots of discussion with classmates and arguing for your point. Met in class once a week. Too many lectures to watch and take notes on. Studying for tests was rough but provided all needed materials. Could ramble but insightful. I am a better citizen from this class.
Professor Wood is one of the most intelligent, inspiring people I've met in my life. Every class discussion, I came away more informed and more ready to participate in the world and democracy we live in. You have to work to succeed in this class, but you'll want to.
Honestly my favorite teacher she teaches the class with so much passion
One of the best college professors I've had the chance to have. Professor Wood takes pride in what she does and It shows in her lectures and the comments she leaves in homework and class activities to each student individually. Would definitely take her class again for HIST1302
Dr. Wood and her lectures are so interesting! She is an incredibly smart lady and has an answer to any student's question. The work can be challenging at times but as long as you put in the effort and manage your time wisely, then you will be fine. It is also impossible to fail a test as long as your study the review she provides!
Dr. Wood was great for gov't. She knows what she is talking about. She expects more than the average TCC professor, but she cares and will give you tough love with grading. At least 4 papers, easy midterm and final. Homework is non existent and note taking is too. Show up to class, read the instructions twice, and you'll more than pass.
Took her class in 2020 and it was one of my worst experiences. She wasn't friendly, not helpful when asked questions, and even gave me a hostile look all the time. Heavy quizzes and exams. During COVID, she told the class “if you're not sick, you don't need a mask,” which was unbelievable.
