Fall 2006 was her first semester at CSUF and she did a great job teaching FIN 320. It's either that or the subject matter is easy to learn. The book was rarely used. I barely opened mine. Attending class is good only for the in-class assignments, but she wouldn't mention when there would be some. Two tests and a final--all MC and there was FinCoach

This class was amazing. I think most of the people who actually attended class thought it was easy because she did such a good job at teaching the subject. She gives very detailed stuff for all your exams(Open notes). The only way she could make it more clear is giving you the actual test to study. Didnt open the book and got an A with her notes.

Good professor. Presents material clearly and in-depth. Unlimited notes on test. Boring lectures, so pay attn in class. One big group project. Inclass assignments given as pop quizzes: Write anything and get credit for it. It's more for attendance. Fair grader! One of the fairest finance profs i've had. A+

I think she is pretty straight forward and even tell you what's going to be on the exam and how many from each chapter. Try to get A on the first and Fincoach exam. It will secure your grade. For my semester, the second half was replaced by another Prof(Storey) due to her pregnancy and I do not like him that much.

Takes role every now and then. Material is pretty cut and dry, its mostly stuff from managerial accouting. Don't know how much else she can expand on this stuff (even feel bad for her). Easy A, open notes (go to class to get notes she leaves out of ppt slides which are on test). EASY A

One of the nicest teachers. 4 open note tests (using powerpoint slides). Go to class to fill in the missing parts. 1 group project - no surprise. A simple review of accounting with a finance twist. Easy A.

The most amazing finance teacher ever! She teaches really well, she knows her stuff! She's always willing to help :) Definitely take this class if u get the chance!

I'd have to agree with the last comment. She does everything she can to prepare you for all the exams. If you don't pass, it's cause you didn't study.

Very understanding person. Her lecture is kind of boring nothing special. No HW. The 1st and Fincoach are easy A, make sure you A them, mainly calculation, u know the formula u good. Exams are open note, but u won't have time using it, so prepare good note and u won't need to look at. The 3rd and Final is very hard, they ruined my A goal, so study

I'd agree with the last comment. I thought I was going to get an A, but the departmental final ruined that. I think departmental finals are BS and unfair.

Great professor who knows how to teach.The reason CSUF gives a departmental final, is because Fin 320 is an easy class.It's no secret that CSUF wants to keep the average grade at a C.The departmental final is designed for students to fail; the aver. grade on the final is 70%. If it weren't for the departmental final, everyone would be getting an A.

Very easy professor! Her exams are very similar to her study guides. I got A's on all the exams and thought I was set for an A in the class, but ended up with a B- because of the department final! It was very hard!!

this class is easy peasy super breezy. Her exams are straight forward and they are really similar to her practice tests. You get 4 cheat sheets back and front. If you somehow manage to fail this class, you should just drop out of school.

She's easy going. her notes are online, didn't read the book too many times, the department exam was pretty easy (got 100%). The department final was a killer that dropped my grade to an A-, but she gives you a study guide for each test that covers the concepts for each question. just study her study guides and you'll pass with a very good grade.

The course material is relatively easy. No busy work - such as discussion boards, essays, or team projects. It's "straight-forward" - do reading, assignments, get grades. You get 2 shots at the department midterm exam (online). Dr. Liu is great at encouraging students, providing spontaneous feedback and motivating you throughout.

Just make sure you pay attention in class and take good notes! Guys take her! She's great! I learned more in this class about accounting than from 201A and 201B! The group project is pretty easy and the presentation is only about 2 minutes per person. The first two tests are pretty straightforward (if you take good notes), but I recommend you really study for the final. That exam was definitely much harder!

The class was fairly easy. Weekly homework assignments that were pretty short. There were 3 midterms that basically mirrored the study guide/practice test she gave us. The dept. final was insanely difficult though, so be sure to study for it thoroughly. Her midterms aren't bad at all, but the dept. final is horrible. Overall, she was a good prof.

very straight forward powerpoint lecture teaching. online homework and quizzes but gives plenty of time. don't skip class because the answers to the problems from her slides are only given in class.

2 midterms, 1 final, 1 group project. Group project pretty easy if you have a good group. Unlimited notes for exams, but you need to have read and understand ALL the material/concepts - exams were more difficult than expected. 2 short answer questions on each test. Did worse in this class than expected - study well for the exams!

Great professor. She reads straight from the lecture slides so you can get away with skipping class, but she does leave specifics out that you can only get if you attend the lecture. She gives a study guide and sample exam for every exam; exams are very similar to what she gives out. Homework/quizzes are online, long deadlines, & unlimited tries.

Probably one of the nicest and easiest professors I've ever had. 3 exams and 1 cumulative final. She gives study guides and powerpoint slides that have almost identical problems that you would see on the exams. If you take her, take full advantage of the first three exams and homework as the final is from the department and is pretty tough.

Great Professor! Attendance is not mandatory but some slides are fill in the blank and are only given in class. Practice test are spot on for her exams. You get a page of notes from and back for exam. Homework helps a lot. Final is department so it was brutal. I really enjoyed this class!

I took the online course for BABA. Bookstore sells book w/ code but you course is lecture-based. DON'T buy the book and save yourself half the money. Course is pretty easy as long as you pay attention. Material gets a little more difficult moving forward, especially the last 3 chapters. Lots of formulas, but she lets you use cheat sheet.

Good professor. Good lecturer, gives a lot of examples to understand the material, tests are not hard, dont have to study heavily to pass. Homework is straight forward, and you don't have to go to class but you should so you understand the material. I would recommend to take her, not a hard class, makes finance easy to understand and not a drag.

Took it online during Spring. Hw or quiz on pearson every 1-2 weeks. First exam and final exam in person. evaluation and third exam are on your own. Cheat sheet for tests. She posts lectures for every chapter and questions she posts for homework and practice are similar to those on tests. Take her online.

Great professor. She was very helpful when I came to her office hours and explains every problems very well. She ensures that we are prepared for the exams with the exercises we discuss in class.

Very straight forward professor. Very important to attend lecture because she states some stuff that aren't on the slides that you have to fill in yourself. A group project involving a paper and presentation so get a good group. Can use notes for exams. Has good knowledge on the topic.

Content is not very difficult. She does a good job of breaking it down. Tests are completely open note, however, the questions are EXTREMELY specific and you must know every option very well. Know the correct/INCORRECT answers from her study guides, as many will be on the test, in similar format. Final was a lot harder than the first two tests.

Professser Liu is a tough grader but in a second thought ��, she has to be or everyone will just be lazy and not study. She is ACTUALLY accessible outside of class because she is always there for office hour. I used to have other proffessors and they dont always show up. She answers all your questions. SHE IS AWESOME! �� �� ��

She lets you know every SINGLE detail for EACH material in her lecture. Honestly, if you're failing, it's because you don't participate... HW IS SO EZ PZ. You get to have an A4 sheet for your test. I barely attend class and I have an A. Material is easy to understand. She even gives extra credit for being involved. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

She makes the material very easy to understand and gives practice exams to study. Can use a cheat sheet and formulas are given for exams. She writes the department final so its similar. I NEVER showed up to class and just studied on my own with the PPT's and sample exams and got A/B's. There is online HW, but its extremely easy.

Professor Liu gives you every opportunity to succeed. HW is really easy, lowest is dropped. Cheat sheet is allowed for every exam, including Final. Attending class is necessary only if you need extra help on work problems (they helped me!). I didn't purchase text book, her lectures are good enough to pass the Final departmental exam.

Four exams (2 Midterms, 1 Online Valuation Exam, 1 Cumulative Final) and Liu allows you to use a cheat sheet. Homework is done on MyFinanceLab and is easy to complete. Make sure to study her sample exams since you will see similar questions on the real exams. Super easy class thanks to her detailed powerpoint slides. I did not use the book.

Great teacher. She does a great job explaining the material, so it is advisable to attend classes. Tests require you to know the stuff inside out so the best is reading the material before tests. Other than that, the class is fun and educative.

Online class was great. She gives you everything you need: lecture videos, formula sheets, etc. If you do what you're supposed to, especially for the 2 in-person tests, its not that hard to get an A, let alone pass. If you have good discipline or can take in a lot of material at once (like me), you should do well. Most of it is using a calculator.

Provides study guides that are basically the same as the exams. Textbook use not necessary just follow her power points.

She's a good professor. Lectures are borning though and almost fell asleep in her class a few times. Provides study guides and practice mocks that help prep for the actual exams. 2nd exam was harder than the first exam. I should have gotten an A in the class but started slacking off due to personal reasons. I recommend this professor.

She has two in class exams (first one is similar to the Study Guide) & one online exam (easily find answers online & can take it twice) & final. She never gets up during exams. Never used textbook. Hw easy. On her slides she only has the answers in class so have to show up to find out how to do the work. Allows cheat sheets on exams (write the SG).

Best teacher I've ever had!!! She is a very caring professor. I almost changed my major to Finance. She is the best!! Just go to class and do what she said us to do. and you will get A. Take her! you will learn a lot!

Don't buy the textbook! Everything you need to know is from the powerpoint. Attend her lectures and write down everything she says. Homework is really easy. She lets you have a cheat sheet for all exams. The first 2 exams are the easiest so get A's. She does curve at the end based on how everyone performs on the final. Chill class. Low effort.

FULLY ONLINE:She does prerecorded lectures, so you can do it on your own time. Only times we had to meet was for some test reviews. Her lectures are very helpful & easy to follow. Myfinancelab hw for every ch, but questions are easy points. Exam are via proctorio, but she gives you a formula sheet & study guide to use on exam. Highly recommend!

I took her strictly online uses proc. Easy class and structure to follow. Hw on pearson and pre recorded lectures with powerpoints. Responds to students quick and holds office hrs. Amazing professor. Well organized and explains all the material and concepts well. It is lecture heavy in the sense that all she taught was from the lectures. Lectures for classes were recordings posted but were short. Most were about 40 minutes. Exams are based on practice exams. Make sure to understand both calculation & conceptual question

Great professor, if you want to learn take her class!! One of the best professors I've had so far, she is really good at explaining things and cares about her students passing the class. Exams are almost the same as practice exams, she allows one cheat sheet front and back. Lecture heavy, but overall great professor. I learned a lot.

Prof. Liu was one of the easier professors I had this semester. I skipped like 30% of the classes and passed with no problems. Her lectures are purely from PowerPoints she gives, and its pretty straightforward so self-study is easy. Easy monthly homework and two midterms/one final. Understand how to use the financial calculator and you'll pass.

One of the most organized professors that Ive had here at CSUF. Finance is not an easy subject sometimes and extra practice will always help. She is exceptional at teaching. You just have to put in the work and study concepts in order to understand them. Shes very clear on grading and provides study guides/ sample exams. Take her if you can !!

Best professor in CSUF! She is very well organized and her lectures are easy to follow. Make sure to print out the slides before going to class and take note on them. She doesnt take attendance. She is very nice and cares for her students. Her lecture is clear and has 3 midterms and 1 final. 3 midterm exams are similar to practice tests but the final is the tough one.

I took Laura Spring 2020 with a Web based class. All the lectures were online, we had homework and in person exams. She is very well organized, clear in the lecture videos, I really appreciated the recorded lectures so we could review things easily as I did homework. She is a very caring teacher and would gladly take her again.

This was an asynchronous course, so her lectures were available to view on canvas. Clear and concise lectures. A lot of examples so you can understand the material. Homework was less than 10 questions per chapter. 4 exams (including final). Full page cheat sheet available front and back for each exam. Study guides were given. Great professor!

(I took this class over the summer) The professor teaches by lecture slides which I highly recommend you print and bring to class. She explains all the slides but most of the class time everyday is spent taking notes. The good thing is the test is open note, so easy A. One group project which we completed using class time. She also curves grades.

Dr. Laura Liu gives clear expectations from students, offers multiple resources for assistance during the course, and is timely on responses. If the student ends up failing her course, the blame falls on the student.

4 exams, 2 of which are through Zoom showing your computer and desk. Good pre-recorded lectures, study guides semi-helpful. She communicates very well and clearly explains her expectations. Finance was a tough subject for me.

Probably my best business professor at CSUF Great lectures and I recommend to attend all as I don't think I would get a good grade if I did not. The work out problems on the practice exam is similar format to the actual exams. Department final was not bad as what people say it was just understand the valuation. And all the concepts. Professor Liu was clear in explaining how difficult the concepts may be for students. She was open to answering any questions students had. She allowed a cheat sheet for every exam which was very helpful. She doesn't take attendance, but it is recommended since she only shows answers from her slides during lectures. Slides and notes are helpful.

UC IRVINE MGMT 109: She cares about her students! I was a little scared at the start because the final was worth 41%, the 2 midterms were worth 26%, and only 7% was homework. But, she told the TA to go easy on us. Also, when students gave midterm feedback she was the only professor I had who listened to the students and changed some things!

This course takes some effort and practice to get the math concepts down. Took her online course and was very manageable. Weekly lecture videos and homework due. As long as you watch the lectures and do the homework you should be fine. First three exams are not cumulative but the final is.

She has one of the most organized online courses. Lecture videos & practice exams were super helpful as she went over each problem step by step & they're similar to the exams. 1 full-page cheat sheet & 1 formula sheet allowed for exams. Beware of the cumulative department final! 12 weekly homework on MyFinaceLab were doable. No paper or group work!

Beware with the exams because it might be tricky even though you can use cheat sheet. However, the prof is nice and dedicated.

I love her class! I previously took this class with another professor that just talked trough the slides but professor Laura clarified all information with detailed examples so that it's easy to understand. Her reviews are amazing! It's an online class so it requires self discipline.

She has everything simple and straightforward. Not a lot of HW but they are useful to grind for exams alongside the study guides she gives. Do read the questions and info in each problem in the exams carefully. 2 non-cumulative exams and the final is cumulative.

I would recommend to take Professor Liu for Fin320. She made the concepts easier to understand with her thorough lectures and homework. The tests are tricky but similar formatting to the study guides. The final exam is difficult. However, Professor Liu curves well.

I'm two weeks in out of 8 and already in love with her teaching style. She uses a clear microphone, communicates what she's trying to teach well, and the lectures are extremely easy to follow. The homework matches the lectures and are graded by completion. Amazing class, a good break for those in the BABA program given some other lacking classes.

I'm 2 out of the 8 weeks into this class and can tell you wholeheartedly that this is one of the most informative and straightforward classes I have taken so far. It's extremely good to know that given previous difficult and structural lacking classes, Professor Liu offers a straightforward structure and transparent expectations.

Professor Liu does an excellent job at organizing the content and giving lectures. All the content was straightforward and not too difficult. Her tests are challenging, but she allows a cheat sheet. One of my favorite classes and teaching styles since I have been here.

She's a very kind and caring professor. The course workload is very light as her lectures are concise and doesn't overload you with unnecessary information. Very short weekly homework and 4 exams, which are all a breeze. Her study guides and review sessions are extremely helpful.

She is one of the best to take for 320, the class structure is very straightforward. Overall, just study her study guides, and you will do well on exams. Although attendance is not mandatory, it really does help with understanding concepts and helps you gain practice with the calculator. Would reccomend her to anyway planning to take 320.
