She is a great teacher and easy. You do not have any tests or quizzes, it is all participation. The reading is easy and mostly enjoyable.You have to write papers 1-2pages and 2-3 pages long.Extra credit is available.

As long as you go to class and do the work, you will be fine. She really takes times though to work with you if you need help. Best part is, the class is not boring.

Laurah is a clear and interesting teacher. The assignments were fun and the readings bearable. Highly recommended.

Great teacher! her class is easy as long as you do the papers and the reading! and the best part is NO TESTS OR QUIZZES!!! I never want any other english professor than her!

She is awesome!!!Freshman...i recommend her, she is so easy. Extra credit is available on every paper, except mini papers. Papers are sooo easy! Reading assigments are easy, only a couple of pages long.. and then discussion. Just show that you have read and it is easy! No way you can fail, unless you sleep and never do anything.

She is a GREAT teacher! I would recomend her to everyone. She checks her e-mail frequently so if you have a question, its answered quickly. Laurah even gives the students her cell # incase they are confused about anything. No tests, easy papers, and she gives an extention on any paper that you request one no matter the reason. You wont get bored!

Great class and teacher. She is one of the most helpful teachers. You go over and over your papers so that you have to be retarded to get anything less than a b. GREAT CLASS

Her Class is real easy. From the time you enter her class until the time u leave your writing should approve dramatically if you follow her comments. Their is no way you should receive lower than a B because she lets you revise all your papers to earn a better grade

Laura was a really good instructor, always made class interesting and fun, and was always clear with every assignment and always allowed you to make revisions to your essays so you have a chance to get a A. Basically impossible to fail this class uneless you skip every day and turn nothing in.

She was an awesome professor and I highly recommend her. She is not only fun, but she's an easy grader and her main goal is that her students learn, so grades aren't that important to her. As long as her students are learning and participating, she is happy. She does really well at her job, always prepared.

great teacher. very helpful. lets you revise EVERY paper for a better grade. she chooses the type of paper you write but you choose the topic. 4 papers 2-3 pages. your final grade is participation, group editing participation and the 4 papers. EASY GRADER and makes comments on your papers that will TELL YOU WHAT TO CHANGE.. highly recommend!!

She is a great teacher. Loved her. She's so laid back and encourages students to think and speak about readings.Good convo in the class. She is young and cool and very funny yet still teaches and doesnt sidetrack. Believes in going full class period, and don't forget to do ur discussion questions before class.

I took her for 1101 and 1102. And I would take her for another class if I could. The class is an "easy A" because she is so helpful. On EVERY PAPER you write, she will give you a "fake grade" and then you have a week to revise it. GREAT TEACHER :-)

Smart & Funny. You have to do the work, but as long as she can see that you're trying you'll be fine. You have to go to class, but its not boring so you'll be fine. She is very down to earth & understands you have a life & emergencies sometimes. Just do your work and chime into the convo once in a while.

She is a very fun and down to earth teacher. I am currently in her class. She gives four essay and then a collection of essays are due at the end of the semester. She allows revisions for essays and takes the highest grade from the essays you are assigned. Extra credit is given to students who go to the Writing Center for help with their essay!

Easy class! Let's you revise all papers and gives extra credit. Let's you write on alot of different things of your choice. Didn't need a textbook for the class. The only thing about this class is that you have to write something like every week, like 1-2 page papers to help build up for your last paper...

She is freaking amazing! I had her for 1101 and 1102. She's is funny and knows a lot about everything. By the time you leave her class you will be a better writer. She will help you with no problem at all. She is honestly the best professor I have had so far.

Laurah is the best teacher I have had at GSU! I came in with no interest and enjoyed every class discussion. I took her Maymester class. Attendance was mandatory. Textbooks weren't necessary. Participate or class will be awkward. I've never been so comfortable in a class. I was excited to come in every day. Awesome, crazy-smart teacher!

Best teacher! helpful, understanding, and HILARIOUS.

Smart, funny as hell, and not adverse to dropping the occasional F-Bomb. BS and drama are strongly discouraged. Classes are very relaxed, books are cheap and most material can be found online. No midterms or exams, just class participation and a final paper. Take this class and everything else she offers.

She is smart, fun, pretty, cool, funny and will teach you A LOT, so much you will be shocked.

Laura is incredible! She truly is one of the best professors at GSU. She wants students to be involved with the chosen literature and she explains it as is she has written it herself. Two discussion question posts required a week. 2 formal papers (800 words)and about 5 short essays (400 words). Overall Highly Recommended!

She was a wonderful teacher. I highly recommend taking her. She made the class fun when the topics were boring. And I recommend you guys to be straight forward with her because she will be straight forward to you.

She is AWESOME! She's straightforward, hilarious, and keeps things interesting. She relates to her students well. Light reading and only 3 papers. Takes up the first draft of each paper to write comments so you can correct it. I highly recommend her if you want to have fun.

Norton is a pretty amazing teacher. :) Explains literature that actually keeps me interested and found myself enjoying the class. Homework on uLearn every week to keep with readings. 3 papers throughout the semester. Consistent stuff. Fair grader too.

I love Prof. Norton! Took her Maymester class, was scared as hell bc ppl said Maymester was hard. I made an A+. I never do readings for hw but I loved what I was reading in her class and read them. No test, post question each day b4 class, 5 short response papers, 1 long paper that counts for final exam. Easy. Just read. Takes attendance

Prof Norton was hilarious and I'm taking her 2130 next semester. She helps you as much as you can, and there's 3 papers and readings for homework. Also the papers are given a potential grade but you can revise it for a higher grade. Plus she's funny and keeps you constantly smiling during class!

Laura is a wonderful teacher, and I'm really gonna miss this class. She makes everything hilarious and still gets learning done. Only 3 papers, and you can revise them after you turn them in if you wish. No classwork, and just do the readings she assigns. They're not a lot, and they're interesting. Recommending this class 100%.

I absolutely loved this class!! She is hilarious, which keeps your attention. She offers 2 extra credit opportunities on essays, so its very easy to get an A on a paper. And she is very easy to talk to if you had any concerns. no book! I highly recommend this class!

My favorite professor of all time. I took her for intro to creative fiction writing. 6 stories you have to write and some reading discussions. She's down to earth, chill, funny, approachable, relatable, basically everything you want in a professor. She's less of a superior and more of a mentor and friend. TAKE HER! You will not regret it.

Professor Norton is very funny. She's also very helpful as well. The lectures are hilarious ,while at the same time educational. She offers a variety of helpful feedback when it comes to any topic and actually takes the time to sit down and listen to students' ideas on their papers.

I love Laura. She is one of the best English professors that I have ever had. I didn't consider myself to be a good writer, but she gave us topics that were actually really interesting to write about, and it made my writing skills improve drastically. She is amazing, but she wont let you run over her. TAKE THIS CLASS. She makes us laugh every day.

Evrything about the class is amazing. Coming from someone who always hated English in high school, I found myself looking forward going to the class. She keeps her lectures fun and entertaining while still intellectual and informative.

I was hoping to get out of English but Laura helped me enjoy writing. She was helpful and provides insight on different techniques for real reading comprehension and effectively, while still artistically, getting your point across. You can get extra credit, for visiting the writing studio or paper revisions.

TAKE LAURAH. 3 papers (she is a tough grader but will be there to guide you + gives extra credit) and attend the lectures. She's hilarious and keeps in engaged. Trust me -- she's the best.

Having a chronic illness She understood that I would be out sick a lot, and went above what most prof. did to accommodate me. She grades fairly, so not exactly a guaranteed A, but she let's you revise papers for a better grade, and gives the occasional extra credit. Her lectures are legendary though. I've never had as much fun in a course before.

She was easily my favorite professor I've had this far. I'm trying to take her again for American Lit.

She is the absolute BEST professor that I've ever had. Her lectures are very interesting, and you will learn so much. She is reasonable with grading. If you need help, just ask because she gives great feedback! She also gives extra credit opportunities.

Ms. Norton is a great teacher that will truly help you become a better writer. She teaches you how to critic your writing and how to make your argumentative paper stronger. Her class requires a lot of writing and you MUST be on time for all assignments. As longs as your try, don't skip class, and do the extra credit, you will pass with an A!

You work on just 1 essay that would become 6 to 8 pages by the end of the semester. No tests, just checkpoints of the essays. No textbook, she takes attendance and tardy. She is a great professor who is willing to help and explain. You can resubmit the essays after editing the corrections. One of the easiest yet useful class I've taken.

She is soooo nice and she loves to joke around during class. We only have about 4 essays in the class and she gives us easy classwork to sustain a good grade.

I took her class last fall and loved it! She still emails me pretty regularly and actually follows me on Instagram. Her class is pretty easy, as long as you turn everything in online. She also gives good feedback and gives a lecture on Tupac, which is pretty cool. Take her!!

Laura has made my freshman year. Her class is by far my favorite. I took it the Honors 1103 class so I wouldn't have to take a second English class (because I hate English), but I ended up loving her as a professor so much I am taking her Honors American Lit class next semester. Her lectures are always fascinating and they really make you think.

Laura has been my all-time favorite professor/teacher. She is the kindest, coolest person at Georgia State. I took her Honors English 1103 course, which consisted of only 5 digital projects, no tests or essays. She is willing to help you and walk you through projects if you are confused. I have never had a professor so understanding and real.

Laura is a great teacher! Very engaging because you come to class eager for the new topic of the day. She didn't really lecture it was more like we were all having a group conversation but I took in so much information This class was honors and we didn't write papers just did online projects which was fun&easy. Gave good feedback.

I love her! Super funny and fair. Do the work and you'll get an A. Lots of reading, but mostly short stories or short poems. She posts her lectures online after class that day, but she uses them more as a guide. She made American Lit as interesting as possible, and subs easy (to me) projects in lieu of tests.

Best professor at GSU. Incredibly understanding, funny, smart, good teacher, the works. Everything in 1103 will be given to you (best choice for 1103, easy and good for freshies), but you will need the (very cheap) textbook for 2130. Only prof I'm not nervous talking to, honestly.

The assignments were all online, such as making powerpoints, a timeline, a imovie, and a website. She walks you through how to complete every assignment. Her class is so interesting and fun. Laura is a fun and caring teacher. While I enjoyed her class, the projects to be rather annoying. I found myself wanting to write papers more than I found myself wanting to make memes or websites. If you detest generic classes and enjoy powerful personalities, though, I recommend you take this class!

Amazing professor! She's very helpful with her feedback on your workshop stories and is really down to earth. You will need the textbook for the short stories and essays you'll read in the beginning of the semester. Hands down one of the best professor's I've ever had.

Laura is the bee's knees. She gives great lectures and allows for tons of student remarks in class. You're graded on 4 projects, all of which are large and take more time than one might think. The bright side is they let you be creative, and you learn how to use important apps! Stay on top of your readings and projects, and you'll have a good time.

Listen to the other reviews and take her if you can. Lots of good grade opportunities. Projects were a little challenging but were really interesting and engaging to do, so they weren't hard to get done. I remembered that I actually do like to write after taking this class.

Easily the best online class I've ever taken. Her powerpoints are super easy to follow, and she gives a lot of time to work on the projects. There are a lot of opportunities for re-dos (with feedback) and video calls to answer questions. As long as you follow the calendar you'll be fine. It's an easy A but you still learn really useful stuff.

Dr. Laurah is super intelligent, easygoing and funny! Most of the work in the class are projects (I had to do 3), but they are really intriguing. You also get a lot of time to do them. You get to choose the topic, too. Follow the directions and you'll get an A.

laurah is a gem at GSU. her podcasting class is remarkable and exciting, but also difficult and challenging. though that's the case, she will teach everything you need to be successful and produce good work. she's merciful but don't take advantage of that because she doesn't deserve all that. i recommend her american lit and podcasting classes!!

I took Laurah's for Honors English and American Literature, and I loved both classes. She always led interesting class discussions and lectures, and the projects were creative and fun. Take her if you have the chance!
