I like her as a teacher. She show you related skills to help you understand the new concepts. Keeps class interesting with her bubbly attitude, can be a bit of a smart-ass. I totally recommend taking her.

mrs b is a fine teacher of math. so 1-derful that my daughter who struggles will be taking her next semester with math 103. higly recommend mrs b. if the classes are full she will usually allow peeps to sit in as long as they don't miss. many peeps take her in succesion of classes-to the point they will not take another teacher, i can see why.gr8

My favorite math teacher EVER! She made things very easy. I love the fact that we had a notebook with notes, not only did that help us but we got credit for it at the end of the semester. She's an awesome teacher. Don't pass her up please.

Blackerby-Slater is an extremely effective Math teacher. I never taken algebra before, but I got an A in her 4-week summer session. Her outlines and notes are GREAT! Credit is given for notes. Makes things interesting - I was never bored in her class. She is nice and has a great personality, too.

Excellent teacher!! Mrs. B has a wonderful way of making algebra easy. I am a returning student and haven't used algebra since the early 80's and her methods and explainations made her class awesome! I highly recommend this instructor to anyone, but especially to students who are intimidated or struggle with math.

Mrs. B is an awesome math teacher. I really hate math and she made me willing and able to approach it in a positive way. She breaks it down into terms that are very easy to understand. I will follow her as far as I can in math. Plus she has a great personality too! Take her; you won't regret it I promise.

I would definitely recommend Mrs. B; she is awesome! Very lovely with a great sense of humor. The condensed summer course was tough, but she made it fun and easy to understand. Would liked to have taken her for 101 in the Fall but she only had a 7am class. Will definitely be taking her for 103 in Spring 2011.

This is my second semester with Mrs. B and she did not disappoint. She's a fantastic teacher, really spells it out so you can not only get it but pass the tests with a great grade! Being an older, adult student, she was fantastic. I will take her again for 103 as unfortunately she's not teaching 101 next semester :(. Cannot recommend her ENOUGH

Ms. B is the best math teacher I have ever had. She uses everyday practical examples to help people understand math. She had more returning students in her classes (that had moved up form a lower level math to a higher one) then you could imagine. She is fantastic if you do the work you will pass.

Excellent instructor. I would say she is the best Math instructor at FCC. I was in her 260 class all the way up to 103. You will definitely want to take her for Math if you are struggling or if you are good at Math either way, she's a great instructor for you.

I loved being in her class, it was a breeze for me because I am very decent in math. She is very motivated with tests (a secret surprise for 100%). I wish I could take her class again someday, her and her class are great things to look forward to. Need help? Don't be shy to ask.

Great teacher. Her approach is to make you understand they why in math. Her notes are great, do your homework, so you retain what she teaches. Don’t miss a day, but if you do she’ll help you. Unlike other teachers her office hours are for her students. I suggest you go as often as possible. Highly recommend her! The B stands for the Best!!!

Mrs. Blackerby/Slater moves really fast, but she break the math subject down so that you can understand it a little better.

I took the 6 week summer course. Be advised that it is VERY FAST PACED. This was only my second math class since high school (its been 17 years since I took any math class) and I had never received a grade other than a D in any math class. I have always had trouble with math and I ended up with a B. I enjoyed her class.

She was my first math teacher here at college and I had such a great experience. She did everything to help me and worked with me with any problems I had.

Mrs. B is an excellent professor! Her class consists of taking notes for each chapter which in turn helps you to complete the homework, and prepares you for exams and the final. She consistently ensures key concepts are understood as she goes through examples in class. In addition, she is always available for help outside of her scheduled hours.

Mrs. B was a great instructor. You must take notes and she does give A LOT of examples. These are extremely helpful when it comes do to doing your homework and at test time. I would take her for every Math class if I could. If you have the chance to get in to her class, I recommend doing so.

The best math teacher I have had if you do your homework and do the study guide she gives and ask question. You will do good. She also make sure you know the material and she put the notes on the board for you. make sure you don't throw anything away because at the end of the semester she want it all in a binder. I cant wait to take next semester.

She's AMAZING! Everyone should take her class and only hers! She knows numbers and loves math! I now love math because of her and I love her teaching style and friendly attitude. Her notes are vey clear and organized. She's also very helpful if you ask. You do have to show up, do hw, and pass tests which you'll always be prepared for.

Easy class, just make sure to pay attention to her lectures and ask questions if you dont understand anything, she'll give you a very thorough explaination. As for text book you don't need to buy it, all you need is the mymathlab since it comes with the full book. In addition, her test aren't mulitiple choices but are easy since its from her SG.

If you want to pass and understand the material. She's very clear and organized.

Her lectures and notes are crystal clear. She walks you through every step to get the correct answer and thoroughly understand it. I've never had a math teacher this good at teaching math. I struggle in math and she made it enjoyable. After taking her course, I thought about teaching math as well. Yep that's how good her style of teaching is.

She is a great teacher. Took her for math 255 and I am taking her again for math 201. She teaches well and will answer any questions you have if you are stuck on something. She cares about her students and will take the time to help you outside of class. Tests are easy if you study and the homework is easy. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

I took Ms. B for MATH 260 series, MATH 255 & 201.. She is such a sweetheart and is willing to help you! i never had a grade over "D" in math. once i took her classes i kept a solid "B+" in each course! Love her!

Mrs B has high expectations of her students. She explains math in a way that is very understandable. She makes herself available for help and we have our own personal tutors to go to. I would take her class again if given the chance.

Mrs. B is a great teacher. I've never been good at math until I took her class. I've taken math 260B-D with her and currently in 255. She writes the outline of her lecture on the board and has you copy it in a notebook. Very easy to follow. I've heard complaints that she goes too fast, but the people complaining are the people who talks in class.

Do you absolutely want to understand and get to somehow love algebra? Then lake her class. Lots of notes but easy to understand her teaching style. Her passion for teaching and math is noticeable. But even most importantly her patience to offer extra help if you need it. Just show up for class.

She does everything she can to help students pass. Her notes are well organized, she gives unlimited tries on mymathlab homework, so it's pretty hard not to get 100%. If you still don't understand, she will work with you during office hours.

I'm not great at math but after joining Mrs.B's "Math Village " I gained the confidence I needed to pass the class. Great lectures explains everything step by step and she's funny too. She always reviews before tests and if you need help shes more than happy to assist you

If you work hard and complete all of the assignments, you will do well. One of the best Math Professor's I have ever had. Caring, respectful, and courteous, you feel like you matter in this class. Very flexible with coursework, Blackerby-Slater has a family, so she understand's life events getting in the way. Prepare to work hard and do well.

Amazing Professor. Very helpful and easy to understand. You are graded by exam, class notes and show work. In class no calculator but online class yes calculator and open notes. She will drop your lowest test score. Tutoring is really helpful and she also have office hours. Study guide is same as test and she will go over it before the day of test

Mrs. Blackerby is honestly a great teacher. I had taken her over zoom when we were still online and she was really good. Definitely take Mrs. Blackerby if you are given the chance.

Slater has a laid back style of teaching but she's always very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help anyone understand the material. The HW assignments were clear and the grading scale was great. Being in her class was always fun and she made math fun.

She does a good job explaining the information. There is a good amount of HW, but that is because she wants you to practice. HW does not make up a huge amount of your grade; Most of the points come from tests. There are no make ups so if you miss a test, you'll get a 0. Tests are around 15 questions & similar to study guide & usually easier than HW

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE PROFESSOR! I would've taken her for 3A but it couldn't fit in schedule. Trig is very hard AND she taught it incredibly well and made me appreciate math way more than before! you CANNOT procrastinate, stay on top on your hw, there is a lot of it. She'll tell you how important chapter 1-2 is. BELIEVE HER, STUDY THOSE CHAPTERS!!!

Mrs. B is very passionate about her job, she sets you up to succeed. The HW isn't worth much but it does help with exams! You have lots of time to complete HW for full credit, not a huge workload. 15-question exams every chapter. Lectures are very straightforward forward & she provides analogies to help remember formulas or terminology.

You are a student who will be supported by the professor for your character. The success rate of students passing came down to work ethic. Well respected and appreciated.

I took Ms. B for college algebra and trig and she was so helpful! If you struggle with math or need better detailed lectures she really helps you understand the why for everything! If you have the opportunity to take her definitely do so! She is also very easy to get ahold of and doesn't leave anyone behind. Would definitely recommend!
