A very good teacher, helps you as much as she can, never gets mad at you for asking question, i am taking her for the 3 time for 3 different classes, comp1, brit lit, and now comp 2 ! she is very easy and understandable!!!!

She is an awesome & easy teacher. I took three different classes with her CompI, CompII, & Brit Lit, aced it all. She is willing to help in every possible way she can. Attendance doesn't matter as long as you are passing her class. I would highly recommend her. Her essays are based on how well it can be understood & her grading is very reasonable.

GREAT teacher, really easy and helpful. We only had to write 2 essays the entire semester and we could fix and turn them in as many times as we wanted until we got an A. I definitely recommend her.

She gives you a lot of work...I mean a lot of work, so if your not trying to do the work, then dont take her. I took her for summer and I stressed out over the papers, but I got an A. You'll get a good grade if you just follow the syllabus and she'll also help you as much as possible.

Dr. LaCroix is a wonderful teacher. She is very clear in her teaching and will help you with anything you need if you ask. She does give a lot of homework and assignments, but as long as you don't wait until the last minute to do them, you can pass the class w/an A easily

She is an outstading teache. She does give a lot of work but she also gives plenty of time to complete it. If you do wait till the last minute then you will stress out. She grades fairly and offers plenty of help if you need it. If you follow the syllubus then you should get an A in the class. Dont wait till the last min.I recommend her.

AMAZING TEACHER! I am sooooo glad I took her! She is always helpful and grades extremely fair! Amazing Class! Although there are about a good 5 or 6 essays, if you just ask her alot of questions, use the online tutor and whatnot the class is a BREEZE! She has reading quizzes and those are fairly easy too (they aren't worth much anyway!) But I loved her class! She is not as hard as she looks! DO YOUR WORK! You'll be fine!

She taught with clarity and would like to learn more from her. She has a humor that not all might like, but its what you make of it. Class descussion was always open and fun.

If you have no problem with reading a couple required readings and doing 3 or less essays then you should be fine. Her grading is fair and overall a great professsor. It gets boring cause she talks alot! Honestly if you do the work as she tells you, there should be no problem. Just ask her if you don't understand something, she's very helpful.

I don't know why people are complaining last time I check you're in COLLEGE. She's a great teacher, just do what she tells you to do which is reading and her criteria for assignments are very clear. She's very intelligent so discussions are always interesting. I recommend her if you enjoy learning.

Her class policy was strict, but still was the easy class. Survive the class with a bare passing grade. She doesnt look for right or wrong answer only if you put the effort towards the assignment. Group work was the biggest thing so must do your part in order to get the grade.

I took her for a minimenster 4 week course during the summer. She graded fairly easy and was pretty lenient. If you pay attention to her in class you will get all the information you need to make an A. It was an overall laid back class. She is also willing to help you out if needed and very nice!

Took this class bc I need the lit credit to grad. I took her brit lit class. She is a nice person and loves Eng. She is a stickler for grammer, formatting, etc. I considered myself an above average writer but got a C on her final research paper. I'm lucky to have passed bc she grades a bit harshly. Very writing/reading intensive. Must b dedicated.

A lot of work. Not a class to procrastinate in, but she is a very easy grader. I procrastinated on both my 20 annotated bibs and 3000 word research paper and got an A on both. Take her if you're willing to work.

This teacher is fair and her grading is not harsh at all. HOWEVER, she is NOT lenient and therefore, is strict on school policy. With that being said, do not expect any sort of curving of your grade. Other than that, she is a great professor who knows what she's talking about.

Professor Lacroix is a great. The only thing is she leaves a lot of work and can be pretty difficult. Each week you turn in a journal essay, then you also have 3 major essays and your final exam essay. I got a B in her class but I really had to work hard for it. If you're willing to not be lazy i would recommend her. She's very intelligent.

She's a freaking awesome prof. She explains all assignments clearly. Lectures are interesting. Just follow directions and expect to get a good grade.

Dr. Lacroix is one of the most charasmatic and fun-loving professors at HCC. She loves teaching and loves helping her students. I took Brit Lit and I am walking out with a new "Skill". Basically, I am reading British Literature for fun now Before I would hardly care for it. Everything she assigns is geared to make you love the subject and it works!

Not the best professor. She was not well organized and she was a bit confusing. We did a 3,000 word essay which was literally 10 full pages. The good thing was that we did not took a test for our final, instead it was an essay we could do at home. Also she changed some due dates on our assignments to give us a few more time; which was great!

She is a professor who makes her expectations for assignments clear, putting them in writing so that students have the information they need to successfully complete assignments starting on the first day of class. Then she enforces those written course policies, assignment instructions, and grade rubrics. All readings were open-source and free.

I had her for my Humanities class and it was the easiest class ever. just watch a bunch of videos in class and all the assignments are on the syllabus so the readings and projects could be done extra early. everything is straight forward and the tests were super simple. Would recommend for an easy A

Really chill and funny prof., but beware... She provides you with PLENTY of time to do an assignment, so she expects the best. If you are a procrastinator with a busy schedule, do yourself a favor and take someone else. Otherwise, there aren't many grades in this class: it's black or white---pass or fail. She's always willing to help!

she is a great teacher, hilarious, and gives grades really quick. word of advice, she will assign scary papers, projects, and killer deadlines. I took her for an 8 week class- super bad idea. If you're not that much of a fan of reading and writing and enrolled in her class- be ready to not have a life. Great person though :)

She is really cool, comes off as a comedian kind of with her lectures, great personality but the assignments are long! she gives you a lot of time to do your work so she expects good papers, she is very VERY helpful, if you don't understand something on your assignment just email her and she will reply fast! this class is not for the lazy.

Excellent professor! Love her lectures, always informative. She's very funny as well so you will not fall asleep in her class. Really cares about students so she gives you extra time to complete assignments and easy ones to score A's. Overall an interesting teacher and educated so you'll be learning and getting entertained as well.

Loved her! After Mandy Palmer, she's definitely one of my favorite professors for English thus far. There's only about 4 assignments to do, but they're all so easy - with her experience and skill, you would think her assignments would be more complex. She's very lenient with attendance as well. No stress when it comes to her class.

I took her for the Fall 2016 semester. She's really funny and lenient when it comes to grades. Attendance isn't mandatory and we barely talked about anything related to English in class. Make sure to not wait till last minute to do assignments because they can take a while. Overall, this class is an easy A for people who are willing to put in work.

The course was fantastic. It was all online essays and one bibliography. Bibliography was like 5000 words but once you finished it, the essay part is easy. The course focuses about current affairs(it can be both international and domestic) and one has to right an essay on it. The teacher is awesome and helpful.

Professor Lacroix is a good teacher and cares about making sure her students learn. She tries to relate what she teaches to current events. I like the fact that she did not require expensive text books. There were three books that was used in the class on Arestotle and were available online for free or in the bookstore for about $10.00 rentel.

Journals are really easy, but quizzes are little hard.

She is very cool, loves to talk, there was a total of 3 essays and one easy group project to help boost your grade. The essays aren't hard, but make sure you start them ahead of time. There are some quizzes at the beginning. She doesn't really appreciate when people are late to class but prefers you to be there. Gives good feedback and help. )

In Professor Lacroix's class you do have to read a lot, but she does have discussions so you can better understand the text. She's straightforward with assignments and is amazing with feedback. Her class also has great pacing, none of the material is rushed. Just make sure you participate in class, do your assignments, and you'll do fine.

I absolutely love her! I am trying to see if she teaches any of the other classes that I will need later. Took her for huma 1301, she by far the coolest professor I have encountered at hcc. She makes class fun and she grades very fair. She is more interested in expanding your knowledge and experience as opposed to giving you papers upon papers. I would have loved to take her for English 1302 if I wasn't taking it currently.

I loved this class, you will learn so much. I took her summer course and it was a lot or reading but if you manage your time it should be easy. Im a high school student and even for me the class was really easy. Shes very kind, accessible, and one of the best teachers Ive had. Take her!!!!

All the readings were free and online, which helped. On the syllabus, she posted her policies, and those policies are what she enforced.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course. Dr. Lacroix is very knowledgeable and one can learn a lot from her. She challenges her students which I liked most! This is not a class that you just show up too and get an A but you actually have to do the work. She will help you! She listens and she wants her students to be successful!

I've taken professor Lacroix for 2 different subjects. She is great! Her lectures are amazing, and she really knows the subject. Her grading is really tough, and although there are few papers to write, they are long and complex. If you like writing then her class is perfect for you, but if you don't you might want to look for another professor.

She was my only option, and after I read her reviews I was a bit worried, but my experience with her was great, she was nice. 4 essays and every time she allowed late submission & allowed us to correct our mistakes. HW due every friday its 5 questions on a15-60min video. Class is so eassy only way to fail is if you dont do the research essay and you have literally 2+ months to write it. if you have a heavy class load and just need a easy filler take this professor!

Amazing professor. The lectures are always very thoughtful and insures full perticipation from everyone. Class environment is safe and open to idea sharing and incorperating such into the lesson. I highly, highly recomment her for both comp 1 and comp 2(her lessons are linked)!

Simple class online, the assignments are easy to manage if you use time wisely. Do the readings and study how to write in MLA and you'll be fine. Don't understand the extreme low rating, unless writing isn't your strong suit the class is a simple credit. She also respond to Canvas messages fast, and all expectations are listed in syllabus.

Get ready to read! This class is not for the weak but if you're willing to challenge your perspectives and *want* to learn, this class is a breeze. Effort is everything but the conversations are so interesting, it's hard not to be involved. The grades are heavy but the deep open discussion carries that concern. Keep asking questions!!
