I took this class online. It was very easy, super straightforward information, and very interesting. It made learning nutrition fun! We had quizzes about every other week and same for discussions on Packback. She is very quick to respond to emails, and informative on any questions the class had. I would 100% recommend!
this lady made me change my major and hate my life. can't teach.
Dr. Coheley seems nice but sadly she doesn't know how to teach. She basically reads directly from the slides and expects students to have so much background knowledge of A&P 1 and 2 as well as BioChem 1 and 2. Exams are proctored with respondus and then quizzes started to be proctored as well. On a more positive note, the assignments arent too bad
Dr. Coheley was the rudest prof I had the displeasure of meeting. Be prepared to memorize 200-300 slides of PowerPoints per test. She would probably require an obituary if your parents died, she has no compassion for anything or anyone. Assigns a lot of projects and then never grades them so you dont know your grade until the very end.
Dr. Coheley was amazing. I loved having her as my professor for this class. She has fairly long lecture videos but only 1 per week with a quiz or packback. Exams are pretty straight forward and projects as well. She responds very quickly to emails and is always very kind. I kind of want to change my major because of her! Take her! You will get an A
This class is a lot of information in general but Dr. Coheley does a great job with explaining it. Her lectures are very interesting and easy to stay engaged. The tests are hard but mainly because the information is dense. Dr. Coheley truly cares about her students and wants everyone to do well and succeed. TAKE HER CLASS.
This class is pretty interesting and easy if you listen to lectures and do all the assignments. Weekly lectures are 1-1.5 hours long with quizzes and discussions every/every other week. Tests are straight forward but can be specific since there are so many little details. There are about 3-5 projects that are kinda time-consuming but just busy work
Dr Coheley is not an awful professor, but she assigns so many discussions, quizzes, and 4 long projects. The exams are not difficult as long as you study the material, but her lectures are long videos that we have to watch each week, which can be tiring. It's an easy class, but if you aren't up for the work then take a different prof.
If you have the chance, take her class. The information is tough but she does a great job of explaining, and posts extra videos to ensure the students understand. Her lectures are awesome and she makes class easy to stay engaged. She offers extra credit and curves quizzes and tests. She truly cares and wants everyone to learn and succeed.
Coheley is nice (sometimes) but she does not actually know the information she teaches and constantly gets things wrong, even on tests. She throws so much information at you (400-500 slides per test) and then asks about the most specific things on the fully short-answer exams, which I doubt she could even pass herself. Hardest class I've taken.
easily one of the hardest classes Ive ever taken. be sure to have A&P and Biochem knowledge before this course. she expects you to know specific details regarding HUNDREDS of slides. she mispronounces/misspells many terms which can make learning mechanisms quite difficult. shes genuinely a nice person but doesnt know how to teach effectively.
I really liked Dr. Coheley! She was super sweet and didn't make the class any harder than it had to be. Quizzes and tests were really straight forward, she doesn't try to trick you. Lectures could be a little long but made everything make sense. Projects were meh but she always responded to emails quickly and took the time to answer questions.
Dr. Coheley is a great professor! This was an asynchronous online class and though there were deadlines throughout the semester, the workload was easy to manage. The material was very interesting, and Dr. Coheley's lectures were very helpful. It is easy to do well in this course if you follow instructions and complete all assignments.
Professor Coheleys class was fairly easy. The course was asynchronous and was set up perfectly. There are assignments due weekly and quizzes biweekly but they were not too difficult. For the major projects, Professor Coheley was accessible to answer any questions and responded fairly quickly. Her lectures were very interesting and easy to follow.
Do yourself a favor and do not take this professor. Her online class is taught by her TA, not even her, and there are 2 long lectures assigned EVEN the week we have tests. We had a power outage and she completely ignored that happened and still assigned more work the following week. Never even seen the prof, only the TA. Don't do it.
Dr. Coheley seems to be under the impression that we have taken biochem and anatomy already. Most of us are barely sophomores and juniors. Wait to take this class until after you've taken both, trust me. Dr. Coheley is new and is still figuring out how to teach the material. Find a textbook and be ready for a rollercoaster of a semester.
If you're not a STEM based person do not take this class. I took it as a core science course and I regret it everyday. Asynchronous class taught by her TA who is brilliant but should be teaching an upper level course. Hour long lectures with an overwhelming amount of info that you definitely will be expected to memorize. Avoid if you can.
Signed up for this class thinking Creasy was supposed to be teaching it only for her to take over a few weeks in. She even changed the whole structure of the class, making our tests protected. Her lectures are literally hours long so I advise downloading a video speed controller so you can speed them up. SO many PP slides to memorize for the tests.
This semester, an upper-level nutrition major TA taught the course instead of Dr. Coheley. The amount of work this class required was absurd for a sophomore-level elective. 2 hour lectures were posted each week with hundreds of slides required to memorize for each test. Save yourself the unnecessary effort and find a different elective.
This class was unnecessarily hard. I earned higher grades in both Bio and Chem, which doesn't seem right at all. Do NOT take this class unless you want to be miserable and hate your life existence.
I was not a fan of her way of presenting the material. It was an excessive amount and there was not a textbook to reference. Pictures were used but they weren't helpful when studying because there was no explanation besides your own notes. I also felt her quiz and exam questions were too specific. Best advice is to study in advance and use Youtube.
She's a really good professor, took this class first summer session, so it is a lot of material to cover in 5 weeks. The lectures were long and heavy but I thought they were interesting, you do have to study(alot)for this class and take notes because she asks specific questions on the exams, there was free response n the exams. Good prof tho!
this class is hard you have to study and learn a lot of specific terms there is some free response on the exams and those were proctored with lockdown camera. Shes a good professor and seems genuinely nice! it was a lot of material for 5 weeks tho. interesting class but you do have to put in work, there's also quizzes and one project
I think Dr. Coheley really cared about us learning the material and explained it in ways that helped me understand everything. However, she has high expectations. I had to transcribe the slides into my notebook, including every diagram and picture, and then a few days before the exam I read out loud all of my notes to basically memorize them
unless you are already a registered dietician do NOT take. she reads the textbook to you. asks very specific questions on the test that she mentioned once, and is very non-involved in the class. took fall 21 and the materials were from spring 20. if you want bims directed elective this is not the class. caused me moral trouble than major-specific
A lot of people complained about this class because they thought it would be easy... YOU HAVE TO STUDY!( I don't think people realized this and liked to blame the prof) Tests were MC and a mix of super easy questions and a few really specific questions. If you listen to lecture, you don't need TB. Similar to a bio class (not a blow off elective).
Took the online class as a directed elective class for my major (BIMS), structured around weekly pre-recorded lectures and quiz, 2 case studies and 4 exams. Lockdown cam used. Textbook isn't needed if you watch lectures/take notes. Exam q's are unnecessarily detailed unless you are interested in pursuing nutrition. BIMS majors beware, not an easy A
Unless you are already a registered dietician DO NOT TAKE. she is using old material and has no idea what is going on. the lectures are just her reading the book to you so very boring and you have no idea what material to focus on and it is too much to memorize that quickly. 4 exams each worth 100 points out of 520 points so extremely test heavy.
took this class Fall21 as a directed elective for BIMS. Completely asynchronous, 1-2 lectures a week, around an hour each. Rated difficulty 5 bc most people take this as an elective but seems like she expects this to be students main priority with how detailed it gets. Personal opinion: asynchronous classes should NOT have proctored exams
As others have said, this class is really tough. Its interesting but there is a ton of material to memorize for each test.
as a BIMS major who took this class thinking it would be an interesting elective, DO NOT take this class. 2 lectures a week and the material is interesting, however the sheer amount and detail you are expected to have memorized is absurd and absolutely not worth it, especially when you are in classes like ochem/physics/etc. truly my biggest regret.
This class was the hardest nutrition course I've taken. In order to do well on the tests you have to memorize her extremely detailed slides, and you must attend class to understand them. She doesn't record lectures even if you have an excused absence, she seems to have little sympathy for students. Assignments will boost your grade
This class was one of the hardest Ive taken so far. All memorization and there is so much to memorize. Some of her lectures are over 100 slides long and anything on those slides will be tested. If there is another professor take them.
Pointed out that a few of her test problems were clearly wrong (and provided sources) and yet she refused to give back credit. During moments like these, I lose all respect for a professor. Lectures are inconsistently long to where it is a challenge even narrowing down what test material could be over. Study for this like you would BIO or CHEM.
DO NOT TAKE HER so much info to memorize and makes her lecture longer than needed seems nice but do not recommend
DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU DONT HAVE TO Im a nutriton major and she makes me kinda hate it, dont get me wrong shes nice but she likes to make her classes hard when they are not supposed to be that way, making the major harder while ahving to taker other harder classes such as biochem... skip her if you can
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! easily one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. this professor absolutely does not care about her students and expects us to memorize her 100+ slides with info that doesn't even relate to nutrition sometimes. her tests are extremely detailed and are proctored. no help whatsoever, even when the test average is a C
I am sure she's a nice lady, but I would NOT recommend Dr. Coheley for this course. Her online lectures are just her reading off the slides so they aren't interesting at all. Exams are super specific with so it's extremely hard to know what to expect, since there are so many notes. This class ended up being my hardest course this semester.
Do not take this class if possible. Tests make up over 75% of your grade and there is way too much information on each of them. The tests also get really specific so it's hard to even remember half of the stuff. Her lectures are just reading off of the slides.
If you are not required to take this course I would not recommend it. This class crams in a lot of material with a lot of detail for her tests. This class also does not list needed any prerequisites but there is a lot of material on biology, chemistry, and anatomy. The professor is sweet but the material is rough.
Would've been easy if it weren't for the very last test. For every test, this prof provides a practice exam with answers, which the real exam usually looks almost exactly like. EXCEPT for the last test. Nothing like the practice which I studied heavily. For this reason my grade is a B when it should have been an A. Not even extra credit will help.
Dr. Coheley was a very good lecturer on obesity topics. Her tests were very straightforward and the test questions were always similar or in some cases identical to the test banks of the textbook. If you truly want to ace every exam, use her practice exams alongside the test bank in the textbook. She also gives a good amount of extra credit.
The lectures are just reading off of slides & the tests have a lot of questions not covered in the lecture OR the textbook. This class should require chemistry/bio/a&p as a pre req because this is not a nutrition class but more of a "memorize all of these diseases and their characteristics", it's expected you know way more than what's covered.
If you are a BIMS major looking for an easier BIMS directed elective, I would not recommend this class. The lectures are unnecessarily long and not super engaging, as she reads word-for-word verbatim from a script. The tests are doable, but you have to put in the time to study. However, she did offer a hefty amount of extra credit this semester.
Avoid this professor. Dr. Coheley makes this class insanely hard. She herself does not know the material and reads off the powerpoint slides. She is rude and passive. This made a lot of her students feel uncomfortable in class. She calls out on people too. Her exams are crazy specific (half mc&fr) and no extra credit or practice exams are given.
Very tough for an online class. The grade is based mostly on the four exams(no final). A quiz every week (lowest dropped), two case studies, and an extra credit assignment. A guide is given, but you need to know EVERYTHING about it. Studying takes a lot of time (start a week ahead). The book is not needed. Lectures are read directly off the slides.
Dr. Coheley didn't seem knowledgable at all. She just read off of cengage slides word for word, which made lectures long, boring, and unengaging. I learned nothing from this class. The lectures alone don't prepare you well enough for the exams, but that's pretty much the only learning resource you get. BIMS majors: take a diff elective.
The class itself is doable if you study, but the amount of material needed for tests is unnecessary. She reads right off of the slides and the tests cover a lot of material and are very specific. I would avoid especially if taking another hard class.
Dr. Coheley is wonderful! She was so kind anytime I reached out to her regarding a class question or needed help with my application process. If you reach out and talk to her, you will love her and appreciate her class! I recommend taking her class-- just know you will have to put in some effort & read the textbook.
Dr. Coheley has a bad rep on ratemyprof, but she's one of my favorite professors at A&M. She was very clear about what she expected when it came to assignments and exams. She even had review days where she would walk through main concepts and any questions we had. She's funny and younger so she's easy to relate to. I enjoyed coming to class!
Dr. Coheley was a very good professor and was very clear on what she wanted us to do in class. I took the summer course which was very condensed but she was very understanding and very open to helping outside of class. Test heavy - but tests were right out of the notes.
Prof Coheley read mainly from the slides and the exams were very specific on what you needed to know. Additionally, she made several students uncomfortable by targeting them and making them feel like they shouldn't even bother coming to class. She definitely lets you know if she doesn't like you by being passive aggressive. Try to take another prof
A lot of these ratings shock me. I have taken her for two classes and am looking forward to the third. Everything is organize by week and she releases the slides, recordings, reminders, and key points each week so we know exactly to focus on. Her courses are set up very clearly and she is so nice. She also curves the exams and offers extra credit.
This class was very hard. I wouldn't recommend taking it if you don't have time I thought this would be an easy science credit, like NUTR202 the class took 6 hours each week I would fill out the outlines during her lectures & study those There were some test questions she briefly mentioned during lecture. professor wants you to know EVERYTHING
I took this class as an easy science credit as all my previous NUTR classes have been. Tests are the main composition of your grade and if you do bad, you fail. There is an unnecessary amount of material covered on each module and tests require extreme attention to detail. Lectures are very monotoned and boring. Only pro-- she is very nice.
one of the worst professors I've taken at A&M. She reads off the PowerPoint slides, gets confused when people ask her questions and has to constantly correct herself in emails since she contradicts herself so much during lecture/slides. The exams are extremely difficult and free response , no reviews for exams, she is always out of town. AVOID!!!
Not the best professor at all, read long paragraphs from slides like others have said, test is your entire grade and are very specific, lectures are long and boring, take another elective. the tests are all proctored
Lectures were very heavy on material, and tests would have material on it that we never learned, and they would be worded in very weird ways. No extra credit opportunities or easy homework assignments at all to help boost your grades. Overall difficult class, expect to put a lot of time into this class.
Took this class to get an easy science credit, but Dr. Coheley is far from easy. Very monotone lectures with lots of details, and even the smallest details being put on exams. Exams are also weighed very heavily in your grade so STUDY EVERYTHING. Dr. Coeheley was nice and she was attentive but I wouldn't take her again. She expected too much.
Be very careful if you are looking for your Core LPC credit. This is a very difficult class 77% of your final grade comes from the exams, which have oddly worded questions, some about things she does not cover in the lectures. I came into this class looking for an easy credit, and received a C for the first time in my life.
This class is not for the faint-hearted, the exams have overly specific questions about subjects that the professor barely covers. There are "note outlines" that do not actually help you take notes about the important topics in the lectures, rarely ever is a topic from the outline on a quiz or an exam. Don't expect to excel without studying a lot.
Very difficult class that's a waste of time, if you're looking for an interesting class this is not the one. Exams are beyond difficult and you never know what will be on the exam.
Don't take this class if you're a non-major looking for credit, the tests are unnecessarily difficult and she asks questions about things that weren't on the slides, as if she expects you too google each topic after the lectures and learn even more on your own. Absolute waste of time.
While Professor Coheley is really nice and responds to emails quickly, her class is extremely difficult if you do not spend hours studying for the test and memorizing EVERYTHING. There is no final though, and the tests are not cumulative. She also offered extra credit. Some video lectures were very long and she reads off the textbook (very wordy).
Dr. Coheley is nice and genuinely cares about Nutrition. However, for a three hour course that most students take as an elective for degree credit, the class is unreasonably difficult. Not only do not get to ask questions in real time (because the class in asynchronous), but the lectures are overtly long and tedious. Good luck!
Her downfall as a professor comes from not reducing what to study. Her colleagues give learning objectives and they do not test outside of them. With her, anything on the slides is fair game, and there's endless information. She's not the worst (that title belongs to Bradley Wesner, he's beyond horrible) but her inexperience is evident in lectures.
Amazing professor. I was very fearful of her class because many people said it was hard. You can easily get an A or B if you review on your own. She also does do a review session the class before all exams and she purposely makes the lecture slides difficult so you come to class. She explains everything very clearly and is extremely helpful.
She's the worst nutrition professor at lecturing/teaching. Lucky for you, this class is all memorizing, so you don't need her to facilitate the information. Exams are just throwing up what's on the slides, so you don't need tones of IQ to do well, but you have to spend some time studying. Also, her study guides are not comprehensive and a bit lousy
Honestly, this class was miserable. Triggered my anxiety to no end. Her gratitude for giving us extra credit was the only reason I survived. Despite not being a nutrition major, I was not excited by the class. I found it extremely difficult to follow the lectures when she would have a TA read them out, as her voice was not upbeat like hers.
Not sure why so many ppl are giving her poor reviews, I really like Dr. Coheley. I've had her for two classes and they've been very doable. I'm not a nutrition major and I thought the material wasn't bad. Put in average amount of effort (study for test 2 days before, do the quizzes, etc.) and you'll be just fine. Not a blow off class but not hard.
NUTR 365 is a hard class but it's SO doable if you go to class and take notes in lectures. Dr. Coheley is super funny and engaging, she goes over hard processes multiple times to make sure everyone understands and gives 100-point easy assignments that bring your grade WAY up! Anyone who says she is bad probably doesn't go to class. Don't be scared!
I really loved her exam review days! They were always super helpful, and she goes over the material multiple times! This class is hard, but it definitely is a doable class with her. Dig deep in this class, do the studying, and you should be good! Take her if you can!
SO MUCH INFORMATION. Crazy long lectures, don't even know where to start. Her tests are Ok but you have 4 tests, no final, weekly quizzes, 4 case studies. She provides EC so we will see. I have a B, but I am hoping with the EC it can boost me. Like I said just so much information to memorize, it is not even funny. The Prof is nice tho.
Dr. Coheley seems like a nice, good person, but the material is sooo much. If you are good at memorizing literally everything on the slideshows, or if you just really enjoy nutrition, you'll be fine taking this class. However, as an English major, I hated it and was not expecting such a hard-hitting class. Be prepared to put in work and memorize!
I created a RateMyProfessor account just to try and warn other Aggies not to take this professor. Her class was absurdly difficult. I spent 10-15 hours/week studying for the class. You have to know every word she says for the exams. She was rude to students in the GroupMe and seemed frustrated whenever I came to office hours to try to get help.
Dr. C is amazing! She is full of energy and really takes the time to go over the harder biochem pathways. 365 is hard, but it is so doable if you just go to class and study for a day or two before the exams. don't be scared, Dr. C is so amazing and will help u through it. I didn't take A&P or BICH before, and I was fine.
she was a great professor, dont let these people fool you. I'm not a nutrition major & still made an A. If you do the work & put in effort, you will do fine. It's a lot of material but she makes it interesting. do the note guides, take everything she says into account & you will be good. case studies were fun & helped me learn a lot more in depth
Her lectures are amazing and she makes it easy to understand material, but the material is dense. The test are multiple choice/fill in the blank/short answer so prepare for that. It was a decently hard class and you do have to memorize a lot, but studying EVERYTHING in a timely manner is what will help you do good. Interesting class material.
Insane exams. Syllabus says theyll be MC, T/F, and free response, but almost all are free response/fill in the blank. exams are 1 hour for 40 questions + open note. 1st exam over 8-1hr or so lectures, most questions have 2-3 questions within themselves. It seems like a fair amount of time but NO, not enough to type and answer everything.
The best naps I have taken at TAMU were while I was trying to watch her lectures. Boring, long lectures, and her tests are hard. Quizzes are over the most specific things. Did not enjoy. Do not recommend
Gives pop quizzes where you literally have to know the readings line by line. Goes out of town for her wedding for two weeks leaving us w/ TA that doesn't know material and then gives pop quiz the day she gets back and the day before break. Wants to be at Georgia so she makes it apparent she doesn't like A&M. Condescending just like her TA Tara.
rate my prof is too harsh on Dr.Coheley, she's wonderful & amazing. Referring to another rating, yes she did give a pop quiz the day before thanksgiving but she told us she wasn't allowed to cancel lecture & she let us work in groups, & she showed wedding photos!! she loves UGA but if you got your undergrad & masters & spent 7 years wouldn't you?
NUTR 365 is a tough class and Coheley did a great job explaining the material. She did a review session the class before each exam was was super helpful to know what was expected of us for the exam. She does d pop quizzes, but they aren't worth much and if you review your notes you should be fine. Overall, she made this class pretty enjoyable
she is the sweetest prof ever!you can email her anytime and she is very helpful and understanding. this is an online class and we all had trouble on the first exam and she worked with everyone to give us extra points and changed future exams. this class is not hard if you try and she is very enthusiastic to make the lectures super enjoyable 10/10
This is not an easy online class. Her tests are free-response and multiple choice and she barely gives you enough time. There is so much content to learn but you can have open notes on tests. Good material overall but be prepared to work
There are 2 lecture videos each week, they are one hour long, but it will take you hours to get through them with all the information given. There are 8 quizzes, 4 case studies, and 4 exams. There is extra credit given, but if you're suffering they won't do much for you. She is not easily accessible and this class is extremely time consuming!
This class took more than than I had initially anticipated, exams are hard due to the time constraint so be quick with them when typing out the free response, and the case study, overwrite rather than underwrite. However, she offers a good amount of extra credits, which can be very time consuming.
This class is unbelievable annoying for a sophomore level class. The lectures are slow and methodically and boring. Exams are open note which are nice but some of the questions felt out of scope and what was given to us as information. I would highly avoid her if you can especially if youa re taking this for a bims elective. waste of time.
I truly cannot believe how little she cares. I am used to nutrition professors that are inspiring and really want us to learn. Dr. Coheley hands her work off to her TA Tara who is the worst TA I have ever seen. At the end of the semester, she told everyone that she wasn't going to bump grades because she gave "ample" extra credit. There was none.
This is not an easy online course. All assignments are very time consuming, but they are open note and only a few assignments. You need to pay attention to lectures because a majority of questions on exams and quizzes are essay. You need to know what you're talking about. Grading is a bit tough but a couple extra credit opportunities.
Lectures are very long and exams are okay. My semester it was 50 mc questions with lockdown browser. Dr Coheley is very knowledgeable and the content was interesting, but it is A LOT. Don't go in thinking it will be a blow off class or a super easy A, but its really not that bad. Theres like 15 points of extra credit through discussions.
Not difficult class, lectures are long, don't watch. Case studies are easy, exams are not difficult. Not open book, everything on lockdown (except case study). Don't look at note-taking guide & just do slides/make your own notes. She will test over EVERYTHING in slides though so don't just skim. Focus on connecting principles not just memorization.
She isn't a bad professor, but she isn't the best professor ever. Lectures are dry. The class is graded on projects (pretty much easy 100s) and exams which are tough but she has reviews the class before the exam that are helpful. This class isn't impossible just tedious when it comes to exams. I wouldn't avoid her as a prof just expect to study.
Lecture is very heavy. Expect to be studying a lot if you want to succeed. After the first exam you kinda figure out how she structures her exams. Go to class and ask questions if unsure. She is very personable and one of the nicest professors I have had. Was just a bit frustrating to have her TA teach certain difficult lectures rather than her.
This professor is very hard. Even doing everything provided I still could only get C on the exams. I did all the study guides and watched all the lectures. She made this class is very hard for no reason.
This class was too hard for no reason! it has always been open note but this semester its not lockdown closed book. I studied so much for the exams but my highest grade was a 88. The questions were written to trick you like with "none of the above" type questions. If you are an overthinker STEER CLEAR of this class.
Exams were so difficult for no reason. Some questions covered material not even discussed and finished with an 89.92 in the class. She does not round up even when that close. Assignments aren't difficult but doesn't matter, they're a drop in bucket considering exams make up around 3/4 of your grade. Would not recommend.
Dr. Coheley is an amazing professor when she actually shows up. Her TA, who is not good at teaching, taught almost half of the lectures. I am not sure why my tuition is going to Dr. Coheley. This class was a lot and more difficult compared to the other nutrition classes. Thankfully this class is just memorization so it's not impossible to do well.
Overall pretty accessible outside of lectures. Happy to answer any questions about lectures/assignments. I took the course online so lectures were just her reading of the slide which was meh. Grades consist of quizzes, exams, and case studies. If you do the note guides and look over the slides you'll be fine.
Honestly I would never take her again for another class. The exams were awful being that the lectures were around 120 slides twice a week. It is very hard to know what to study. She gives you note taking guides but they do not help with the exams. I had a 79.4 and she told me that she would not round up my grade to a B.
Lectures ranged from 80-120 slides per week. There was simply too much material for an entry-level introductory course. Tests were extremely extensive, confusing, and challenging. She is a harsh grader and not at all accommodating or forgiving. She did offer one very challenging extra-credit assignment. Avoid her at all costs.
I thought this class would be easy, but OH I WAS WRONG!!!!The lectures were 1 to 2 hrs long and she just rambled or read off the slides in the lectures. There were two 1 hour lectures per week and a weekly quiz. The test has pretty much nothing from the slides, so try to stay away from her
Dr. Coheley makes this class much harder than it needs to be. The questions on the tests are way more specific than what is covered in lectures. She also states in her syllabus that if you are dissatisfied with a grade, you can come discuss it with her, but when you do, she'll tell you that grades can't be changed. Don't take her.
very strict grader with the case studies and solely relies on quizzes and very detailed exams.
Do not take this professor unless you want to spend all your time on her class and get unrewarding results. She manages to find the most nit-picky questions that are close to impossible to know. Her class is more than difficult because difficult is possible, but this class was impossible. The tests and quizzes are super difficult.
I struggle in this course SIGNIFICANTLY. The lectures are well made and easy to follow. What makes this class so insanely difficult is that the professor doesn't talk to you one-on-one. I emailed her, the correct way "according to her syllabus", and I didn't get a response for 2 weeks.
HARD professor and class. Tests are filled with specific and detailed questions. Lectures were pre-recorded PACKED with information. If this course is not required, do not take. Studied more for this class than organic chemistry.
Not an easy class so don't take it unless you really have to. Tests are super hard, lectures are really long, and I honestly spent more time studying for this class than any of my other classes and it's my lowest grade. Don't do it, literally take anyone else.
It's a shame the course content is very interesting and I enjoyed it but, this professor is just rude. She blames poor class average on us, will laugh at us, and her PowerPoints make absolutely no sense. Her class actually felt like a fever dream.
I took this because it was online, and I thought it would be an easy science credit. I was wrong; it was not easy. Exams and quizzes were challenging; I didn't get to know the professor since it was online. She seemed fine, but the class structure could have been better, and I would not take a class with her again.
The course is difficult because it is a lot of material. Dr. Coheley takes some getting used to, but she cares about your understanding of the course material and is happy to help. Attendance isn't mandatory, but she does have pop quizzes, so its recommended. I took and dropped this class once before, you get out what you put in!!
While I have not gotten the chance to meet Dr.Spain, or Professor Coheley, I unfortunately do not have many positive things to say about her. To be simple, she is rude and uncaring. I have reached out for tutorials maybe 3 times with no response. But she answers every other email. Do not take her course.
Graded so tough for no reason, other than to prove her online nutrition class wasn't a “blowoff”.
This was the only grade I received all semester that was not an A, and I put a lot of effort into this class. The lectures could be condensed heavily, but instead they are convoluted and the test/quiz questions are very specific. I studied for every assignment and still didn't get a grade that I feel reflects my effort.
Do not recommend. The tests and quizzes contained very specific and random information from the lectures. She does give Kahoot tests reviews which were helpful, but not enough to makeup for the level of difficulty. She claims that she will work with you in terms of a grade but in actuality she will not.
As a freshman, this class was a nightmare. The lectures were too long and partially aligned with her WEEKLY quizzes. She really messes with the multiple-choice questions and you end up doubting if you even retained any of the information you studied. This class was difficult for no reason. Everything has lockdown browser and webcam. God bless you.
Lectures were lengthy and dense, but staying focused and making your own notes paid off. Exams were challenging, but utilizing study aids like Unstuckstudy along with the slides helped prepare. Overall a tough course, but manageable with diligence.
Her lectures are kind of long but I didn't feel like the exams or quizzes were difficult. The TA posted a review which was very helpful for exams. She responded to my emails quickly and offers a one point extra credit discussion post every week. My case studies were graded kind of harsh but nothing too terrible. Just study and you'll be fine.
Took this class as supposed to be an easy science class because I had heard good things about NUTR 222. Her lectures were way too long and in depth and confusing for this course. Her exams were way too specific. The class averages were so low on every assignment because she is such a harsh grader. She is not a caring professor. DO NOT TAKE.
She is such a good prof!; don't listen to other reviews saying she is rude. The exams are mostly fill in the blank/free response. 3 exams and cumul. final. She truly wants us to understand the material and answers questions very well. There are a few pop quizzes but not bad. You have to study and learn long processes but she wants you to succeed!
prob best nutr prof so far who actually goes into detail! do not take this class if u are alr taking 2 other hard stem classes, her exams are not to be taken lightly bc u need genuinley memorize every slide to do well. i did that and got a 95+ on every exam. she makes it very clear before each exam what her FRQ are going to be!! loved her :)
The lecture slides are total information dumps. You can't figure out what to study since there's just too much of it. Dr. Coheley doesn't condense information for you to learn effectively as a student, and she tries to trick you with terribly written, super specific questions on quizzes and exams. Do NOT take Coheley
Very lengthy and in-depth lectures. She does create note taking guides that allow you to follow the notes easily. While this class is not heavy on work, you have to be heavy on studying. Hard grader and test questions are very specific. Very little extra credit to make up for hard tests. Unless you have to, DO NOT take this course.
I feel like the reason she's so comfortable giving students a tough time on exams because she's solely online for this course. She also sent a whole email out on canvas claiming students were cheating because the class average was a 80+ one time She gets upset if you actually do well in her course. If you do get an A, she'll question it for sure.
Online course that was made 3 years ago, with TA monitoring it. Don't take this class especially if you don't like science or haven't covered much science since there is a lot of content. If you do take this class, it is going to take up a lot of time studying and sitting down remembering all of the presentations. TA reviews are your only savior.
