Most beautifully written notes in history for something as awful as calculus. Doesn't give good examples to prepare for tests or assignments as they're way too simple compared to the complicated ones we get. Beware, there's an assignment due every week and they're tough and the midterm and finals are filled with MCQ's so it's a make-it or break-it.
She is an absolute gem I loved her. Her classes were never boring and she was always easy to pay attention to. She made the difficult material very easy and actually tried to get to know all her students. She's very approachable and if ever I didn't understand something in class (very rare) she was even more clear on one-to-ones. Best prof at UofC!
Lauren was great. I definitely recommend her for Math311. Although there are many quizzes and assignments, it really keeps you on top of things versus a course with just 2 midterms and a final. I find the quizzes and assignments were consistent with the content in lectures, so your learning is reinforced with many chances to get marks.
Beauitful slides. Every material explained in detail and every test, quiz and practice material have solution with them.
I took her Linear Algebra II course in the Spring semester and she was amazing. Her notes are extremely clear, and are uploaded at the end of each week. She opted to have weekly tests instead of a midterm in my semester, which actually was really nice. It's clear she cares about her students, would definitely have her again.
Great prof. I would highly recommend taking a class with her. Shes very enthusiastic at does a great job teaching the material
Dr. DeDieu was one of the best professors I have ever had the honour to learn from. She is in-depth, covers all material in a timely fashion and really cares that all her students have a comprehensive understanding of the material being taught.
Just amazing. One of the best profs I have ever had the honour to learn from! Really cares about her students and ensures all students have a comprehensive understanding of the material being taught.
Her tutorials are mandatory, but are extremely helpful. Very approachable and will post fully worked out examples/proofs that are presented in lecture.
I took Math 265 with her. Wonderful lady. She has the sweetest personality and she invests a lot of care in making sure everyone learns well.
Solid Prof.
Amazing prof. Forcing group work in tutorial and having frequent (compared to the usual math courses) smaller tests forces you to stay on top of things weekly. You will learn something with her.
Lauren is a great prof, her notes are very good and she is great at explaining things. She has started piling more and more work for the class. We had to write essays, do a poster presentation, write tests, go to tutorial (for grades), has TopHat and assignments. It seems like overkill for a math course. Be prepared for constant work in her class.
Amazing prof with in depth notes. I was not expecting to write essays for a math class but I can understand the rationale behind assigning them. Tutorials are very useful to go to.
Dr. Dedieu is such a gem. Her notes and lectures were so clear and organized, she did lots of examples in class and posted plenty of test review materials. Also she is just such a sweet person who wants her students to succeed.
Lauren is a phenomenal instructor, she explains concepts clearly and is more than willing to answer questions. For many students, this course is the first time you deal with writing formal proofs so she dedicates a lot of time to make sure you understand her expectations. She also does many examples in class which is great. Tutorials are mandatory.
Lauren is an awesome professor! She puts a lot of effort into making sure all students understand. Her notes are very clear and easy to learn from. I enjoyed this class.
Dr. DeDieu was such a friendly, caring, amazing prof! Her notes are simple yet thorough, and also aesthetically pleasing and easy to read when you go back to study them later. She is also very clear about her expectations for all assignments, so if you pay attention to her instructions it's pretty easy to walk out with a decent mark.
Dr. Dedieu grades very hard and has many assignments due all at once. She is very unclear on her assignments and seems too smart to understand her students. She is not clear at all when she teaches.
Those midterms be hard. And her voice is so high it can screw with the lecture hall microphones. That being said, her slides are very good and she is very organized with the course material. The midterms are difficult but she is very clear about what you need to know. But she gets caught off guard really easily when you ask her a question.
Amazing prof, her lectures are really good and her slides are so organized and nicely written, hard tests but if u attend lectures and focus you should be prepared.
Lauren is a great prof, and she has wonderful course slides. If you pay attention, take good notes, do well on your lab quizzes, and do extra practice problems, this class shouldnt be too difficult. When doing examples in class, she explains each step and lets us try out the questions prior. If you have the chance, take a class with her.
Lauren is a good prof her notes are concise, however her midterms were both hard in comparison to previous instructor midterms and her final followed a similar stream. I took this class thinking it would be easy to get a good grade as I aced Calc in highschool, however the class was up there in terms of difficulty. You have to study very hard.
Lectures aren't really that great, but D2L is a dream come true. Has all the homework, past tests, worked-through examples, explanations, course details, deadlines, etc. you'll ever need. Lecture slides are beautifully designed and very helpful. The prof is super helpful and friendly and truly cares about each and every student in her class.
There are many assignments so it's difficult to keep up on classwork,. The midterms were rather difficult compared to past exams, however Lauren did make it clear this was because in the past the final was very difficult, and she wanted to make the midterms a bit more difficult in order to make the final easier, which she did do. Overall good prof.
DeDieu is super caring and clear about what she wants to see in the course! She was course coordinator for my year, and she made the midterms and final exam extremely fair. If you can, take her class!
She's really shy and that makes it hard for her to handle a large lecture hall. She obviously knows her stuff, but she doesn't convey it very confidently.
I took a Math dual credit class with Lauren (my first university course), and it was pretty great! 1 webwork and a quiz per week on the materials she covered in the previous week. There are 11 quizzes in total, and she drops the two lowest ones. Her notes are incredibly well organized and is easy to understand as she walks through them in class.
I am taking her class online cuz of Covid-19, but in her lectures she only goes over really easy examples so we are expected to learn the hard stuff on our own. She never really explains things she only reads the definition, and overall I feel like she does not try to help students understand, so I would not recommend her class at all.
very bad at teaching, unhelpful, very rude , her material is very unhelpful and is a tough grader unfortunately, takes ages to reply in email with 2 work ok or no , please never take here .
The classic skipping the harder examples because its the same thing as the easy examples when it is not. So much content further exaggerated by confusing definitions. Class was rough :(
Good luck with this prof! Hard midterms and unrealistic expectation when grading. Made this semester dreadful, try another prof if possible.
Took her in spring and it was not what I expected because of how high the ratings initially were. The tests are nothing like the lectures - lots more time is spent on theory than actual examples and even so, they are very simple compared to what you get tested on. No leniency in grading and looks more like they are looking to deduct marks than give
No clue what she's like in person but this is an absolutely abysmal online class. Assumes everyone is cheating so the exams are as hard as they can possibly be. Not to mention partial marks on written work aren't even a thing. Nothing taught by her prepares you even a little bit for the exams. Do yourself a favor and find LITERALLY ANY other prof.
Nothing you'll learn in class will prepare you for the Exams she gives. Doesn't matter how much you study, you'll still find the exams very hard because you won't be exposed to the questions she assigns in the tests. Wont suggest you take class with her.
Trash. Teaches up until a limit and does examples on the easy content, and gives content completely blown out of proportion on exams, and midterms. Changed the grade distribution to make it harder for students to pass a math course that isn't even for math/science/engineering majors. Poor work ethic. Poor personality. Poor.
Too many words so I'll make it short: take this class with any other professor online, if she is the only option then wait it out and take it in person with a different professor. I wouldn't take a class with her again if my degree depended on it.
I cant explain enough how bad this class has been. Her notes are easy to understand but include the minimal to do good on the exams. She shouldnt been this hard on us especially since its online during COVID. Avoid her. It would be better if you take the class a semester late rather than taking it with her online. The tests are extremely hard!!
This class,at least in an online format, was terrible. The lectures focus on the bare minimum and ALL examples she goes over are easy but throws the hardest questions on the exams. For one exam we learned all the examples one way and the midterm was working backwards FOR EVERY QUESTION, making it SUBSTANTIALLY harder.
I've always hated math and was terrible at it, so I was nervous to take this class but lauren is seriously such a great prof! She made me enjoy math, her online class was SO organized that I never felt stressed. She's very understanding and teaches so clearly and concisely. I'd take her class again for sure.
Often times we experience pain in our lives. Sometimes it's falling down a flight of stairs, a spat with a loved one, a heart break that lingers for what seems ages. However, imagine taking the MATH265 in spring with DeDieu and equate that to getting a prostate exam with an electrified 9 foot cattle prod. Not so fun eh. Avoid at all costs.
This class was insanely disorganized and the tests were made ridiculously difficult because she assumes everyone will cheat. Recorded lectures were the bare minimum and tests were completely different from the material taught. I would 100% advise staying away from this professor for this class.
absolutely TERRIBLE! took MATH with her online, she will say things are optional then turn around and put all the optional content on the heavy weighing midterms and final. when confronted it felt like she was being very degrading and passive aggressive in her response. DO NOT TAKE IT WITH HER
does not care about her students at all. shes so precise with what the answer should be. do not recommend a class with her. she also cant teach
I took Math 265 with Professor Dedieu over the spring (online), and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The course was extremely organized, the recorded content was available far in advance, and the grading scheme was clear and fair. Some exam questions were certainly difficult, but they were certainly doable if you did the readings and homework.
Her notes can be quite haphazard and she likes to jump steps a lot. Her videos are clearer for more simpler topics but often times it feels more like she's talking to herself. I find her pre-recorded videos a little messy and she sometimes contradicts herself.
PLEASE PLEASE never take a course with her first off SHE CANNOT TEACH FOR HER LIFE skips steps doesn't explain them, SECOND her voice IS SO IRRITATING she literally sounds like a fourth grade teacher, THIRD her tests are so much harder than her lecture examples
Jumps steps, cant teach it just isn't her thing
Test questions are not anything you will have seen before. She does the easiest examples in the lectures but on the tests there are examples that are extremely difficult and have never been explained.
The course itself is quite difficult, but Dr Dedieu was nothing but kind and willing to help every step of the way. She sent out surveys to see how students were feeling, and she changed the structure of our lectures after hearing what we had to say: The tests are hard, but theyre the same tests the other profs use so its not her fault.
She gets a bad name because of the course difficulty and the test difficulty however all of the math 249/265 have relatively the same test format so it isn't her fault for the difficulty of the tests. She is so nice and is always ready to answer anyones questions no matter the difficulty. She is also willing to stay after class in order to help.
The most organized professor I've had. Her in-person lectures are extremely helpful as she reviews the most difficult concepts during them. Her recorded lectures are also very structured. This was the hardest course I had this semester but Dr. DeDieu was very supportive and even adjusted the weighting of difficult components of the course.
Her lecture notes go over the bare minimum for the topic. When doing the homework problems assigned, 90% of them seem nearly impossible without help from khan academy and other various resources. Seemed very passive-aggressive in emails when confronted about the difficulty of the tests. Never again Dedeiu Mwah
Her recorded lectures go over the easiest examples and do not prepare you for the multiple choice tests, which are comprised of high level thinking questions. These difficult exams are timed exams worth 40% of the course, so your final mark hardly seems fair considering the tests do no cover what is taught. Weekly quizzes quickly become exhausting
Very helpful prof if you choose to attend help sessions, will answer all your questions and go through worked examples even overtime. Sweet to students, course material is unexpectedly difficult but ahe will do her best to get you through it, which includes adding many tests/quizzes to spread out the weighting. Do the optional extra work!
I had Dr. DeDieu for University Calculus I and she's an excellent math teacher. She's extremely patient with students and takes the time to explain the problems we might have issues with. Her notes are impeccable and her Q&A sessions are engaging. To pass this class, one needs to review the topics learned and there are many opportunities to do so.
I didn't really like her style, but she's a great prof. Her recorded lectures and notes are very accessible outside class and she is very patient with students and explains things very well. The only problem is that she was at times wordy and sounded unsure, which isn't a big deal but was uncomfortable to listen to.
Professor DeDieu is a lovely person and clearly very intelligent. I'm not gifted in math so I struggled very badly in this class but DeDieu was very good at explaining her work and was very patient. My only complaint was regarding the notes she gave, as they were very brief and the examples were simple in comparison to the questions on the tests.
Professor DeDieu is by far the best professor I've had this semester! She's super chill, conveys topics in great detail and explains concepts students don't understand very calmly and thoroughly. Even if Math isn't your thing if you take this class with her you will succeed.
There was tons of homework needed to do well on assignments but she was always available for help during various sessions per week.
She's a solid Math prof. The online lectures along with the slides she provides are clear and visibly pleasing. My only complaint would be that her lecture examples are far easier than the questions on Multiple choice tests. Other than that, she's easy to understand and a reasonable person
Puts in a lot of effort to make the course great, and it shows!
Lauren is a really good professor. She's organized, gives clear explanations of the topics and she wants her students to succeed. However, I don't think her teaching skills shine as much online. I found the tests to be a little too convoluted. I realize she didn't want anyone to cheat, but it was overkill. The questions were too hard to understand.
Terrible class. Dr. Dedieu is a very nice person, and I'm sure she's better in person, but it was a challenging class made even more complicated online. There were hardly any examples provided and they were too simple to understand the material. Skip her class if you can.
Lauren is super nice and seems sweet, but definitely avoid this course (especially online). Calc in high school was so fun and enjoyable, but MATH 265 makes me want to stab my eyes out, the tests (worth 60% of your grade) are IMPOSSIBLE to pass. Definitely don't take this course if you don't need to.
Don't take a class with her. Nice person but sucks at teaching, she teaches the bare minimum. She also makes tons of mistakes in her pre-recorded lecture videos, don't bother taking an online course with her.
DeDieu is nice, but the way this class is taught is just atrocious. The content she teaches is incredibly easy and simple, yet the assignments and tests are so complex. In my whole academic career, I have never experienced such a big gap between what we learn and what we are graded on. It seems like she's purposefully trying to make students fail.
This was such a hard class and the exams never correlated with the videos from Dr. DeDieu. Since the class was pretty much asynchronous it was so confusing to understand the exams questions and the videos were made very fast and did not go through the questions well. She just went from one question to the other in minutes.
Amazing prof. Her lectures were really easy to understand and if you had any confusions she cleared them up. Homework assignments and projects were a breeze. The best class I had this semester! Easy A
She's the goat fr. At first I thought she was pretty mid but than after taking math 267 I realized she really is the goat, her notes and videos make it easy to understand concepts even if the tests are hard at least you know the basics and can apply.
Probably the worst prof at the university. She gives the most basic examples in her videos and expects us to solve much more complex questions on the tests. Most of the test questions are completely different compared to the questions she goes over. Asks us to try questions on our own, then tells us that we can't solve it yet, cause she didnt teach
The class was weird. The tests have little to do with the content they teach you and are very unfair. I talked to a TA about it and they told me they agreed, and my best hope is a calculus textbook. The TA told me the tests are mostly logic based and are supposed to stop people from cheating. Listen to the TAs and use a textbook
I've never had a prof make me feel stupid for asking questions before. ( Then after I improved on tests, I felt like she implied I must have been cheating. I have no idea why someone that hates students and teaching them math so much would want to be a math teacher. If you care about ur self esteem or learning math, take calc with ANYONE else.
I would have not cared about the constant math errors if Lauren was nice to students and wasn't so arrogant and mean. Do you want to know what it's like to be taught by someone that treats you like you're inferior while making constant mistakes? This is the class for you! I'm so annoyed I paid for this experience.
Lauren has been the best prof I have had as a student here in UofC. The class was really well organized, her lectures were super easy to understand. There was homework assignments often, but as long as you pay attention to her lectures it is very straight forward and easy. Also, there were no exams! Just assignments and group projects.
Math isnt easy for everyone, and I would really appreciate it if Lauren would stop treating my friends and I like were stupid for asking questions. Im thinking about getting a tutor to save myself from being constantly mocked for my questions.
I thought I must have suddenly become terrible at math because I didn't understand anything DeDieu was teaching. NOPE! Dropped into another profs lecture and things were crystal clear. I haven't personally interacted with her so idk if she's nice or not but she REALLY cant teach at all. TL;DR Need this class? Give DeDieu the pass.
Lauren was a pretty decent prof> I had her online and all of her videos were clear and concise. In class she focused a lot on making sure we understood the concepts and went over a bunch of practice problems that people struggled with. She doesn't usually give you the answer before class rather she encourages you to try and figure it out by yourslf
I was, unfortunately, only able to do well in the class because of external resources. If you learn best on your own and are looking for structured study time, then I think this would be a good class for you. I found the content didn't reflect the tests, and it was deeply concerning how many times I had to confirm I found a mistake in the content.
Some students are motivated by demeaning comments Im not that girl. I finally found the courage to delay my graduation by dropping the course to try and take calc with a prof that doesnt me cry. If youre a tough love person that is motivated when a prof is kinda mean, youll thrive with Lauren. I know some students really like this style!
As soon as I found mistakes in the content I got a fantastic tutor. Apparently, they changed calc 1 recently and its widely known that its about test-taking skills not math mastery. Get a tutor that has a bunch of experience and explain the trick question tests to them. I didnt get DeDieud!! and my tutor made her class fun!!
I really loved proofs in discrete math and loved the rest of my math courses. Why is this class so much more work?? Please let me choose what to spend my time on. Drowning in work for this class is impacting my other classes. I have social anxiety and Im forced to share my work. It feels like the class is a mash of pop-education tips.
Objectively horrible. Exams arent designed to test how well you learn the materialthey seem designed to test how relaxed you are. Guess who isnt relaxed during trick math exams? First gen girls with severe anxiety. Math 267 was a dream in comparison. Please dont let Lauren convince you that math isnt for you. Most math classes arent like this
Linear algebra is so cool! I just dont understand it the way DeDieu teaches it. But Ive been learning on my own through YouTube and acing the course. Maybe they should have multiple profs like in 271 so students have the option to learn from someone that makes sense to them? That would help because I just dont think Lauren does my style of math
Maybe Ive been spoiled by profs that make math magical and fun? Idk Im having a bad time with Lauren. I would settle for respectful of student questions at this point. It seems like she can say things to students and not notice them crumple internally when they just want help. Take this class with Laflamme or literally anyone else.
Im sure she means well but you learn next to nothing in class and very much thinks that the knowledge of theoretical math is in us all to be discovered. Its not. She could not tell me what any of the applications for these things are other than "im in pure math so... its theory?". Soul crushing. Take a proofs course before 311 or get depression.
I took some time to reflect on 265 online because I figured it couldnt have been THAT bad. It was. Ive never had a class be so disorganized, poorly taught, and assessed unfairly. Want to ask a question? Hope youre comfortable with being mocked. Ive taken almost 5 math courses and LOVED them. Math 265 with Lauren? Painful and unprofessional.
This is embarrassing to admit now but I almost dropped my stats degree because I thought I was too stupid for math after my experience with Lauren. Dont do it! Keep working hard! Youll get through her class, and it only gets better! Claudia for stats pretty much saved me! Mark for 267! Youll find profs thatll make up for it. You got this!!!
Jesus. I have no words.
Shes alright. However, I find that she doesnt explain things very well. Often her explanations will be along the lines of well it just is or she doesnt go into depth. You could always attend her office hours though.
The way she teaches is boring
Contrast to many other students it appears, I think Lauren is great! I didn't have much proof experience prior to the course, but I found if you actually understood her examples, nearly every proof seen on tests is expected and some are even directly from her practice questions. Just do the practice, watch her vids & you'll be absolutely fine.
She is a really good prof and explains everything very well. She cares about the students and helps as much as she can.
This class is more about self-learning as the lectures only go through Dino questions which are just harder level questions. Also, the recorded lectures go through the bare minimum and if you think you can do the WeBWork or the Dino problems right after, you're mistaken.
Lauren is such a great professor!! She always stayed after class to answer any one-on-one questions, replied to emails very quickly, and was SO SO SO SO ORGANIZED!! All the grading breakdown is given on the first day, and the D2L shell is sooo easy to navigate. Pre-recorded lectures posted for the week, so more time is spent doing problems in clas
Dr Dedieu was aight, she had pretty good online lectures and her notes were beautiful and helpful. She sometimes came across as a bit condescending but that's a minor complaint, overall it was a good experience because of her notes and videos
the course was very well designed and straightforward, lots of practice problems and resources provided. Midterms and finals were average for difficulty, lectures could get boring.
She is a wonderful prof. Her notes are always clear and very organized. She has a lot of material to help you study math. Dino problems were very helpful too, as you could challenge yourself.
This course was a math appreciation course meaning that there was no set curriculum to follow for the professor. However, she made the course schedule clear and there was no exams or tests but just singe page homework due every week based on the lectures done that week. Her lectures had a ppt that was very easy to follow.
Really good at teaching, I enjoyed her lectures. I also appreciated her videos, she explained all the learning outcomes and went through examples, it helped a lot when studying. She was good at responding to questions and she made sure she had lots of office hours.
Her teaching style is so flawed. Her video lectures only go over the BARE MINIMUM of what you need to know. Lauren was not my professor, Sal Khan was my professor. The quizzes and tests were incredibly difficult to the point where almost half the class failed. Also says "UMMMMMMM" so much to the point where my brain was melting watching the videos.
As someone who learns best from seeing examples, she was a great prof for me. She has lots of worksheets and examples videos that you can use to study so you never have to go into a test unprepared. You had to go through the notes before class but she'd spend all of class on examples so if you payed attention would leave understanding the topics.
Didn't feel that comfortable asking her questions, but her videos on the course content are the best I've seen. DeDieu is good but learning was done all at home. The midterms are easy, and final is good. Managed to slip an A- after an existential crisis due to this class, but one of the best experiences Ive had to grow as a learner. KEEP PRACTICING!
A great professor, if you follow her suggestions to succeed in the course you will most likely succeed. Accessible on office hours and will always help as much as she can, highly recommend this professor.
Would never take her class again
I love this professor. Although her lectures go very fast, I can still understand the concept in this course.
Videos she made were very helpful, in class notes less so. Overall was a very easy course but often times when asking questions she gave very short and demeaning responses.
I don't know why she has so many low ratings. She's actually a really good prof. Her videos are great and straight forward, and cover everything you need for the midterms, especially the written portion. She also will point out what will not be on midterms, which is amazing. Great prof and good at explaining the harder concepts in an easy way!
Honestly her videos were very helpful and if you kept up with the topics the lectures were a great review. A lot of practice was also provided and she was very clear what would be on the exams.
Great professor and always cares about her students and is good at explaining concepts most of the time. The online math videos are very helpful aswell.
Good professor. Concepts easy to understand. I love her lectures and definitely wish to take her class again in the future.
Lauren is so organized. Definitely not necessary to go to her classes as everything is posted. Replies quickly and has lots of office hours. This course had no final just 6 quizzes and took best 5/6, and some light assignments. Lauren really cares, and I will always take any course she's teaching!
Incredibly organized course and D2L shell. There are lots of resources available on D2L including prerecorded example videos, and posted course notes. She explains things well in class and has lots of office hours for extra help. I loved how there were quizzes rather than a midterm/final. She also reviewed the quiz concepts on the day of the tests!
She is a good teacher compared to many other professors. Her in person classes are taught relatively well, she does take a long time on some questions but she is pretty nice.
Lauren was a very nice prof. The lectures weren't integral to my learning, but when I went, they were great. Use the videos are your primary learning source. She is accessible for any questions. She is a safe decision for a prof. For Math 265, expect to work hard, Dr. DeDieu made things easier.
In my opinion, Lauren was a good professor. Although the class was fine, I think if the class time was spent more on working on assignment problems and midterm preps, instead of heavily focusing on top-hat questions, It would have been optimal.
Her lectures are okay. She is very passive aggressive in emails and she comes off as very rude. You have to participate in group class activities that amount to about 15% of your grade. It's an easy course, but if you like math and want a challenge, don't take this one.
Lauren is the best Professor I have ever met! She is so sweet and caring and answers emails really fast. If there is anything you don't understand, she will explain the concepts very clearly. It always makes me feel comfortable to ask her questions. I don't know why she gets so many low ratings; just follow her rules, and you will be fine.
This class was very easy. It's a lot of group work and participation matters, as she basically does attendance every class and a big chunk of your mark comes from participation in class. Lauren is nice but pretty awkward when you talk to her, her answers to your question sometimes don't make sense but the TA Taylor was absolutely amazing.
Decent teacher, the assignments can get hectic during mid-term times.
Decent teacher, the quizzes and assignments during exam week can make it hectic, it is quite hard to keep up with the class if you fall behind.
Beautiful notes and very well organized. She's a prof who loves teaching students. She dedicates the first week into not only getting settled in the course, but University as a whole. If the course is combined with 249 like mine was, don't bother with Dino problems and use the textbook. The tests are much easier than the problems covered in class.
Decent teacher, if you're taking 265 you should be able to get by with the slides and videos.
She was very helpful answering questions, and gave thorough and detailed explanations during lectures. You can tell that she cares about students doing well. Overall she was a great professor.
The lectures were nice, it wasn't a lot of going over concepts but rather doing examples and problems the class found hard. The videos on her D2L were amazing, very comprehensive and easy to watch, which helped with working through the material. The dino problems did seem to help people and the quizzes and webwork weren't too hard to get through.
She will help you very well with math 265, you'll get tons of easy to follow online lectures in conjunction with the in class explanations, any lower than A marks are purly due to lack of complete studying, but if you do all the practice questions you'll get a A
Overall great teacher, the midterms were a bit of work but the final was a life saver and the midterm drop is so clutch.
Great teacher, had her for my Math 265 course. She made everything easy to understand, gave good feedback, and was overall enthusiastic about teaching.
Amazing prof. for how difficult the class was. I mean you can tell how much work she puts into the d2l walkthrough videos and lectures. Super positive to student questions as well! I would take another class with her again if I could.
If you go through the d2l videos and attend lecture, you'll be just fine. The professor is always ready for questions and never seems to stop being awesome. Seriously the only critique I would have is for her to take a break, she is a workaholic and genuinely cares about your learning. Definitely made my first year brighter!
Professor DeDieu made the material easy to grasp. The online lectures and in-class examples were incredibly helpful. Unstuck AI was a great supplementary tool alongside the textbook. Overall, an engaging class that prepares you well.
This was a very easy course. The course material was much easier than precal 12. Attendance was mandatory and graded. There are group projects worth a large part of the grade and there are weekly homeworks. Lauren seems really nice and she does explain most things pretty good, but she does come off rude when you talk to her.
Not a bad prof. But someone who is highly disorganized and a terrible communicator. She makes the subject tougher than required. Take someone else if given a choice.
Super easy class, so if you want a math challenge this isn't it. You're taught material that you'd use when buying a home or making financial decisions! Attendance is mandatory- you're allowed to miss 3 classes without penalty. There was a lot of homework, but it's all simple, as they were regarding what we learned that week. Finished with a 98%
She generally is very passive agressive toward her students especially when you asc questions. Aswell, her lectures are not very informational, throughout the course if you have her as your professor, you will be teaching yourself EVERYTHING. Quite literally would be better off watching youtube videos to learn Calc 265
