make sure you call her Lauren. Not the easiest of teachers but definately the most helpful. Only allows one class missed. Attendance big part of her grading. 2 big papers. alot of notes, slideshows usually on web vista. but overall very good. i enjoyed having her.

I took her on-line class this semester and it was great. I also had her for Public Health. She is an excellent professor although she expects you to put in the effort. She is helpful and fair.

This was an online course. Excellent presentation, facilitation and participation by Dr. Doninger who was very enthusiastic and very helpful throughout the entire course making you feel like you were actually a part of a class even though I was home taking it on my computer.

Online class. There was a lot of written work. The material was presented clearly and the course thoroughly covered the basics of psychology. Course was very well organized.

Online class. There is sufficient work but then again it is a semester?s class covered in 3 weeks. She?s organized, intelligent, and very helpful (She?s probably the best counselor in GWCC so if you have questions about transferring go see her). Overall, the class was interesting. Though there is alot of work in this class it is spread out over the semester. I have taken 2 classes with her. Always available & willing to work with you, papers can be re-written, drops an exam grade. Online summer class, really fast. It was hard for me to get how it worked but then it was straight forward once I was use to it. Everything you need is right in Blackboard. The lectures are given in a narrated form, which is good so you don't have read the lecture. She uses the PsychPortal which had some fun stuff in it. Good class, learned a lot.

Very helpful, down to earth teacher. I took this course online in the summer and there was A LOT of work. Not an easy A, but I believe she is very fair. I took a summer class - a lot to do in a short time, but it was a really good class. She was a very fair grader and always said that we could ask her to re-read a paper if we 'thought she robbed us.' This was an interesting class, however, it was a lot of information to study in a very short amount of time. I recommend taking a psychology class for a full semester not a winter class.

I took Doninger over the Winter. It is a crazy crunch course so you do in 2 weeks what most do in 16. Over All, she is such a sweet heart. It was my first winter course and it turned me on to take more! 3 credits in 2 weeks, sold. Just stay on top of the class discussions and be sure to hand in assignments on time.

Dr Doninger is so far, the most engaged, attentive, and caring online professor I have experienced. She knows her material and is very helpful. I took her General Psych class online and she gives the feeling that she is always in the "classroom" there when you need her. She makes Psychology interesting. Look forward to another of her classes.

Prof Doninger is a great professor. I just completed her online course of Biology of Addiction, and I learned more about drugs from this class than my on ground class! Keep in mind that assignments are due on different days each week - so make sure you schedule time in advance and keep an up to date calendar! I recommend everyone to take her!

I have received my lowest grade for her General Psych 101 class (B+) and that's when I knew I truly had a good teacher. She's not an easy A but she's enthusiastic and she doesn't "dumb down" anything in her course. She's a stickler for details so proofread your papers several times! :) She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. A+ for her.

Dr. Doninger was very helpful when it came to just about anything. I just finished her summer course which was supposed to take 5 weeks; however, she provided the option of completing it in 3 weeks. If you want to take an online psychology course this would be the one to take!! The quizzes can have a few "hard" questions, but overall, pretty easy.

Dr. Doninger made me feel like i was sitting in class and not online. She is very intelligent and is a nice person. She gave me some great advice on what classes i need to take for my degree. This was my first on-line course, I was a little iffy with it at first, I was afraid I wasn't going to be dedicated, and the deadlines would be weird. I was wrong,The work was challenging which made me a better student with the reading and doing my own research. Professor is very helpful and answers questions in a timely fashion.

Dr. Doninger pretty much lays out what she expects from you as a student. The biggest problem most students seem to have with her is that she demands college level writing. It's a college level class. I'm thankful for professors like her that hold their students to real standards. It helps keep Gateway from feeling like 13th or 14th grade.

Considering this is a college level course, it is very easy. The guidelines for tests and papers are clear. As long as you follow them you will get an A. Professor D is very reasonable and works with you to get your grade where you want it. I would not be upset if I never had to see the online psych portal again. Overall good class.

This course is really organized and really clear. Just read the syllabus and know how to use Blackboard or you'll be lost - but this is college not kindergarten. The lectures are narrated and accept for the discussions she gives you until the end of the course for all the other work, which is good in a fast winter course. Really good class.

This class was an intense, Winter Intersession, Online course. 3 credits in less than 3 weeks. A lot of online reading, commenting, discussions, and writing essays after reading and viewing videos about psychology experiments and methodology. She was great is responding to comments and questions, response time, and pushing you to work harder.

This was a really organized course and the due dates were pretty flexible which was good bc the summer class is just a month so it's a lot. You just have to do the work to get an A. I liked her, she answered stuff fast, but summer courses suck. I just needed the credits.

Your grade depends on three things: attendance, doing the online components on time, and exam grades. Powerpoints are available online. It's not super exciting, but she talks in a way that engages you so you won't fall asleep. I'd take it again. The textbook and online component are expensive so just get the online part (comes with an ebook!).

Excellent class. She uses a multimedia approach during lectures and for the papers required. Some group activities which provide extra credit. Excellent student advocate. Unfortunately, she requires students to use the Tutoring center to have papers proof-read. They do not give good help, and scheduling appts is difficult for working students.

Dr Lauren Doninger is an amazing professor. When she teaches, you can tell she knows what she's talking about. She is very nice and strict. She gives a lot of work, but at the end, it's beneficial. This was one of my hardest class I ever experienced since I'm here. However, I really enjoyed it.

There's a steady amount of work but she gives you a lot of chances. She drops a test grade and lets you rewrite a paper, writing is a big deal in her class. Her lectures are really good and she is helpful but you def have to go to class and talk with her in advance about stuff. She helped me with advising. I'm taking the next class with her.

Dr. Doninger is great. Tough grader but you learn the most from a class like hers. Took her online Biology of Addiction class for the DARC program. She prepares you for the field of addiction counseling. Her audio lectures were very informative. She gave clear and helpful feedback for all assignments submitted. Participation is KEY in her class.

I took her winter class online and it was good but tough. Seems like the same amount of work as a regular semester. You can pretty much work at your own pace because most stuff is due at the end. She does grade things right away which is good and let's you know what is wrong so you can fix it in the next homework. Even though it was hard I like it.

I would say this was one of the best classes I ever took. It wasn't easy but it was good. Sometimes it feels like an English class bcause she makes you go to the writing center which everyone hated.

I loved this class. There were 5 quizzes but she drops the lowest or if you miss one its dropped. There is a paper but you get to re write it if you don't get a good grade. You have to do the homework online and it takes some time but it's not hard. I'm taking her class next semester. You can tell she likes students.

I loved this class. It was hybrid which I didn't like becasue I would rather be in class for the lecture. Doninger is kind of a hard grader but if you do the work and come to class you won't have any trouble.

This was a straight forward online class. I had to take it for a general ed class and it was good to just get it done in the summer. Everything was available before the semester started so I was able to set up my own schedule. Theres' alot of work but you just have to do it to get a good grade.

I loved this class. We did a lot of cases of mental illness to figure out the diagnosis. There was a lot to do online, it was easy, but there are a lot of deadlines because you had to do it before the class part (it was half online).

This class was way easier than expected. IT was a winter class that only last 2 weeks. There are 15 pieces of connect quizzes, 8 class quizzes, one paper, and writing assignments. if you are disciplined and ready to work for your grade, you should take her. she made sure we all participated. I do not like to talk in class but i was comfortable talking in her class because of how she encouraged everyone and almost all the topics were stuff i could relate with. she tells you about 20% of the exact things on the exam.

I was a little nervous about this class because it was so fast in winter but its all organized and you just have to go through and do all of the assignments. Not really hard, but there are dates to keep track of. I would say that she answered questions fast which helped.

Incredible class. I only had her once a week, as I had been taking a hybrid course, but she left a great impression on me. She had a way of getting people to participate in class, gave clear lectures, and was always willing to help individuals out if need be. Don't pass up on an opportunity to learn from her.

Wonderful lady! Took her online DAR 158 class and now her abnormal psych class. She is a sweet older lady and she is so knowledgeable on the material. She is fun to talk to and even if we get off topic it's still interesting and psychology related in general. Highly recommend. She is a slightly tough grader on research papers or case papers.

Ms. Doninger is an amazing teacher! She's passionate about what she teaches, and went above and beyond to help me with classwork and course advising. Her class is straightforward- just follow the syllabus and do the work. She also trains a guide dog that you can pet after class! I wish I had more classes with her going forward!

Everything is in the syllabus or in the rubric. Follow the directions and you will excel. Lectures are engaging, useful for quizzes. Doninger will tell you what will be on the quizzes, so no surprises. Opportunities for extra credit and she drops lowest grades for homework and quizzes. If you don't pass, it's because you didn't do the work.

She always says "its in the syllabus!" Dr Doninger will make everything clear and it starts off slow in the beginning, but it gets more fun as you go. She also brings in her adorable puppy so you may get a chance to meet her too! As far as grading, there is only an essay (at least for my class) and then quizzes and the hw. Do them and your fine!

Professor Doninger was my favorite teacher this semester. Very passionate about teaching. Homework Reading a chapter, answering questions, and doing a quiz. Lecture goes in hand with the reading. Test will usually be two or three chapters in one. Chapters take awhile to read so don't save it for last minute.

Dr. Doninger is such a wonderful professor and human being. She's hilarious, engaging, passionate about psychology, and experienced in the field. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! She cares about her job & knows what she's talking about. She's always willing to help. She gave smartbook hw when I had her, but she planned to switch to a free textbook after. We had 2 attempts to complete hw's, 1 essay(3 drafts) & 5 quizzes. She dropped the lowest of the 3 essay draft grades and the 2 lowest quiz grades.

Just took Dr. Doninger for PSY 245 and I have to say she was a real delight! She had office hours throughout the day between teaching several different classes and she also was extremely fast with email response. Be sure to always include class info in subject; she may bypass an email without it. She really went above and beyond for me.

Doninger wants you to succeed. If you struggle, reach out for an in person meeting. Pay close attention to the syllabus as she will not necessarily remind you when something is due. Extra credit points are offered so pay attention for those. She wants a class that has open discussion so try to participate. I learned a lot and enjoyed this class.

She was very informative, has a lot of knowledge of the mental health field, and is overall well rounded. She was clear about assignments and tests. Hands down the best class I've taken at Gateway.

If you love psych/to learn I would recommend her. Looking for an easy grade, I would not. Grade wise it is pretty balanced. The finals not cumulative & on all of the tests there are typically bonus points/a curve. If you care & do the work, you will do great and have an amazing time. She loves what she does and you can tell durning her lectures!!

Professor Doninger is tough but fair. The workload is heavy, but she cares about student success. I found unstuck study helpful for study prep and review. Definitely put in the effort, and you'll come out having learned a lot.

She had a lot of participation for us despite being an online class. Everything was available from the start, well organized, and she graded promptly. There was a lot of resources made available and assignments were related to the online textbook readings. There was no midterm or final. I wish she could teach every class.

Professor Doninger is very knowledgeable, and I learned a great deal from her course. All the material was provided at the start of the semester, and she was a prompt grader who responded quickly to all inquiries. As long as you complete the assignments and pay attention, you'll get a good grade! I would take her course again if I had the chance.

She's great at giving lectures, she does fun activities with us, and a lot of group work. She is incredibly smart and her experience in the field makes her super informative. She's a great professor who always encourages questions, discussions, and even debates, and she always sends a study guide for our exams. She is tough tho!
