Lauren has a true passion for teaching. Yes, she's hard but very open to answering all and any questions. She allows for regrades on exams. So if you scored 70 on an exam, you take the test home and get all the correct answers and get 1/2 credit - bringing the score 80. Not many profs allow that!

Dr. Goodwyn indeed has a true passion for teaching as the previous student mentioned. Although she is a bit hard, you will definitely learn from her. She is very helpful and clear on the material she teaches, and as well very up to date on current science journals. She was so awesome, I took her for two consecutive semesters.

Run! Her class is intensive writing, which means no multiple choices questions but essay style questions.A lot of writing for homework. Daily quiz tests everything she taught at the previous class.The daily quiz is really a big burden. The final cover everything. Other professor only test the untested parts in the final, but she tests everything.

She takes no critism. No time for you after class becaue she has children need to take care. It is frustrating that your professors are not there when you need them.

Honestly, she's a passionate teacher. She really knows what she's teaching and she's good at it. Downside: hard as hell. Short answer questions. She'll bring you to new levels of studying. If you need an A take someone else.

If you want to learn something about Anatomy and Physiology, Goodwyn is the best bet. Her class is difficult to some people (the lazy ones). She is descriptive and down to the point. I never had a better science class. Short answers, quizzes and regrades help reinforce the learning.At the end of the semester, you actually remember something.

If you want to LEARN and REMEMBER the materials, you must take this class. I learned so much from her class and interestingly i still remember almost everything she taught me. Have to work hard in her class but at the end, it's worth it. Just LOVED the class, ready to take BIO 426 with her.

She was a great teacher! Sure, she wasn't the easiest, but at least she didn't make you learn little specific details. She made sure you understood the bigger picture, while not being so obsessed with details. She was the best science teacher I've had in a while. I only wish I got her as a professor both semesters!

Fantastic teacher. If you want to learn from a professor who will teach you without boring you, take this teacher. Anyone who is complaining only care about an easy grade without working. Yes you work but you will learn. Isn't that what school is really for?

Extremely hard teacher. Tests were fair but you must learn everything. Final is extremely unfair and breaks the grade. You must be prepared to sit and learn a LOT!

Excellent teacher....she knows what she is teaching and she breaks everything down for you once you let her know that you don't understand I highly recommend her you! Her blackboard handouts were so easy for not taking. Great teacher!

She is a great professor for A&P 1 & 2, u gonna learn everything u need. the way she grade is nice and her plan moves u toward an A. U just need to study and always come to class. She is the best for Nursing student and everyone. She might not be the easiest but she is the best for u, trust me on this.

Honestly, she is a great bio professor!! Science becomes easier to understand with her and makes the class interesting as well. BUT she is not easy at all! You must be on top of your work ALL the time because she will quiz/test you constantly. If you are seeking for an A, look somewhere else. Unless you really focus on this class, I recommend her.

she's a hard grader,but shes very clear and helpful and gives out her own notes which I found easier to study from.she gives 3 exams and final and quizzes. do a lot of studying and keep up with the work and you should do fine.

A wonderful teacher, but be prepared to work, she does not give easy A’s. Her A&P class is definitely geared for nursing and med students, but that is the student population. Just a helpful hint USE THE NOTES SHE GIVES YOU!

She is awesome. Take her class if you want to learn "actual materials" for A&P. Highly recommended for nursing students. Prepare to work hard and remember everything that she lectures or says in the class for the exams and quiz. If you want to get an easy A, her class is not for you. :)

Not so easy professor, however very great and helpful! She gives quizzes often and attendance and being on time is a MUST! She is the definition of a med professor, for nursing major, I recommend her if you are up for a challenge, She gives ALOT of opportunity to boost up your grade so if you failed, it was because you were lazy.

great teaching skills, hard grader. 3-5 min quizzes every lecture class. basic questions from previous class. 3 tests short answers. 100 question final. a little fast paced BUT record her if you must and study her notes! you earn your A and definitely walk out of there learning a lot. I recommend her.

Best prof at BMCC. If you want to learn A&P, take her. She covers a LOT of material & uses the book unlike other profs. She has mini quizzes at the start of each class to make sure you are keeping up. Tests are tough but fair. She tells you what will be on them. No surprises. She gives plenty of opportunities to bring your grade up. Super helpful!

A&P is a base for the medical field, if you dont know the base- you will be always behind. With this professor, if you willing to work hard, you will learn a lot. I cannot say in words how much i'm grateful for you Dr. Goodwyn.

A LOT of studying and work. If you're not a nursing student don't take! Very overwhelming if you're not one to learn quickly. Her grading is tricky for she picks at every word. You'll have to go to tutoring to learn the material well.

I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews for a good professor this semester. I feel that professor Goodwyn tries her best to give students better grades. Her exams are fair, which include all the material she emphasized. This is not supposed to be a easy class, especially if you wanna go for the nursing program.

If these students can't handle Dr. Goodwyn, they can't handle being in a nursing program. We are in college and this is a science course.. WAKE UP! students must work hard in his course. She prepares her students well and we don't want people in the medical field with weak knowledge in science. She doesn't deserve all these negative comments!

Daily quizzes based on material covered the class before.Very clear at explaining the material.Allows u to regrade every test.The final is divided in 3 sections if u get a higher grade on the 1st section than ur first test,it will replace that grade,etc. U have chances to improve ur grade. I haven't had any science prof. that gives many chances.

great professor I really learned a lot. she gives opportunities for you to improve your grade. for all nursing students PLEASE take her you will not regret it. I had her on spring 2013 for A&P 2. Her test were hard but I don't regret taking her. You learn A LOT and u don't have to teach yourself the material because she does a great job at teaching. For A&P 1 I had a hard time because I was basically teaching myself everything with another professor. Just keep on top of ur work and u will be fine.

I took many BIO professors in BMCC and she was the best of all, TRUST me. She is very interesting, smart, organized, uses power point, video and has the BEST handouts to study from. If you really want to know BIO, take her! The only complain is that she requires a lot from you and its very hard to get an A.

She is thee most amazing person and professor I have taken. She genuinely cares if you are confused and are uncertain of anything. She's very relatable and will constantly fix and pick your answer so you can know for sure. Gives tests and quizzes that boost your knowledge and keeps you refreshed over the material. Professor Goodwyn is one of the best professors at BMCC. She is very intelligent & she grades hard because she CARES alot about the students & just want to pass the valuableright information onto you! I wish she could have her own lectures and not just lab. Would take her again hands down!

Dr. Goodwyn teaches really well. She has a good sense of humor which I thought was very much needed for a class like Anatomy and Physiology. She does not drop any grade, but regrades are mandatory in this class. Tests consists of short answers only although final exams at the end of the semester are usually 100 multiple choice questions.

At first I was thrown off by the comments of her being tough and didn't want to take her. I would of regretted that. She may be tough but shes the best professor for A&P. Knows her material. Class was always fun because of her humor. Exams are short answers, there's a regrade, which is a great way to make sure you understood. Makes you work for it!

Dr. Goodwyn is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took the honors AP2 class with her which was definitely intimidating at first. She gives A LOT of work, but this work will create good habits. She definitely isn't an easy grader, but I learned so much from her and I definitely recommend her above all other professors!

She made me fall in love with A&P and I truly will always be grateful to her for teaching me with so much excitement. Her lectures are great and take her advice on how to study. If she tells you to read THEN READ. She's the only professor I know that offered tutoring outside of her classes too so you know she cares. One of the best professors ever.

She's is very knowledgeable, take her class, you will be more prepared to nursing program. Tests are heavy because they make you to think, not memorize things. If you are a type of person that likes to get a real knowledge then go for it, if you are not then take another professor that repeats the stuff on the book.

If you want an easy A then don't take this class. If you actually want to learn something and is prepared to study for it, then you will have the best time in this class. You will comprehend what you are learning as opposed to just memorizing blah. Memorization will only get you so far.

if your really want to understand the class and the subject then I would say she is the right professor for it. she is the best professor I have ever taken for both the anatomy 1 and 2. she really cares about her students whether they understood the material or not and she is always easily accessible outside the class. Professor Goodwyn is honestly the best professor I've had so far. You HAVE to be prepared to work! She cares about us learning the material pretty well. If you are interested in taking the "honors" section of this class probably means you have a great study ethic, want to be challenged and simply eager to learn. This class is nothing short of that. More detailed material and work but with all the resources to help you succeed (and totally doable) if you're willing to put in the effort. She's great!

She is THE BEST professor for A&P I and II. If I had a chance to pick her for all other classes I would. Walking out of her class makes me feel confident, knowledgeable and well prepared for all the nursing courses ahead. If you're looking for easy A, don't bother! Professor Goodwyn is the best science professor I've had so far. She is a tough grader, but she cares that her students understand, learn and improve. I took both A&P 1 and 2 honor classes with her. If I could take her for every course of my nursing career, I would. Not only is she a phenomenal teacher, but she cares. I had a mental breakdown in class and she pulled me out and hugged me. Dr. Goodwyn is gr8t, she will provide all the help you need. I have never had a professor who offered so much time & care for students. She has office hrs/tutoring on a Tues from 2-4pm & Mon 9-10am; she begs students to come. She gives the basic notes and a schedule calendar. This class is hard, but she works w/ students and helps us to understand.

God sent! She sets you up for sucess from the very first day. Extremely knowledgable, organized and actually educates instead of reading straight from powerpoints. If you use everything she hands you, you are going to do well. Its a dense class with a lot of information to learn but the way she teaches makes it all worth it.

BEST professor ever. She can TEACH. Go to class she literally tells u what's on the test and gives the answer. She cares for her students and lets you do test corrections. She is amazing!! She has office hours and they are SOO helpful. If you have questions, she will explain the subject to you as many times as you need, until you fully understand the topic. It is not an easy course, but she is a very nice professor that will take your hand and guide you through.
