Easy teacher. Makes sure you understand everything. She gives at least a dozen quizes, sometimes announced but easy. She also gives practice tests the week before and an answer key as well.
I really loved her class. You do have to show up every class... it is Math. She is super helpful and if you show up to her office hours and show that you care, she is really understanding. The quizzes are easy if you breathe in class. I recommend you take her class. I picked her by luck.
i really like her. she is very helpful. i hate math and i suck at it but she is a great teacher and i am doind good in there. i would take her again.
She is cool. The class is really easy. You just have to go to class in order to do well on the quizzes (she gives a lot). She doesn't give any homework that you have to turn in, and she gives practice tests identical to the real tests. It's an easy A. I definitely recommend it.
Easy teacher. You must go to class. Gives quizzes every couple of classes but they are easy. Gives identical practice test for real test practice. Easy A.
So easy. She makes it impossible for you not to get an A if you try. Take this class. She is really sweet and will help you out in every way possible. (P.S. some days your get M&Ms and apple cider).
Great teacher.
She's basically crazy. I really questioned her sanity for most of the semester. If you can handle that, you'll be fine. The class gets easier as the semester goes on, and she'll give extra credit to people who come to class regularly. I hate math and made an A.
Shes a really good teacher. I've had her for 2 classes and, im not a math person, but pulled a B in both of them. She's really fair about grading on test and pushing deadlines back for homework. You barley ever use the book, she posts worksheets on blackboard and you input your answer on there too, its a big grade booster! Easy tests!
Best math class I've ever taken. She tries so hard to make sure that you understand everything; the assignments and tests are fairly simple. She's the type of person you can't help but like.
She tries to help her students as much as she can. She is very understanding. Overall, if math isn't your best subject, you should be ok with her as your teacher.

Hands down the best math teacher I've had. Yes, the class was easy but I do feel like I learned a lot more with her than with other teachers at UT or in high school.
I had her for Math 113, many people who took this class have said it was hard, but Ms. Moseley made it really easy and fun. She assigned us project almost every week, but is very lenient on deadlines and the projects are easy. Great teacher and easy tests!
Ms. Moseley is the smartest person on the planet!

Mrs. Moseley is a wonderful teacher. She does a great job on explaining things in class and always has the first few minutes open for any questions on the homework assignments. She keeps the class interesting and is very sweet. If you have any questions just email her and I swear you will get a response in about 5 minutes!
Ms. Moseley is a really nice teacher and person! She really goes out of her way to make sure you understand. I've learned a lot in her class! I would definitely take her again
Definitely the best math teacher I've ever had. Math isn't my thing, but she makes it easy. She does a great job of explaining things. Sometimes she even gives away cake.
Mrs. Moseley is a very good teacher. There are many concepts that are covered, and it is a fast paced class, but she will help you one on one if you need it. You take 5 tests and you have to complete 1 to 2 web assigns a week, but it helps to boost your grade. You can tell that she knows what shes talking about, and knows how to teach.
Excellent teacher. Explains very well. Very helpful. I definately recommend her for any math she is teaching. Very nice lady.
Quite possibly the worst math teacher ever, not sure what the others are talking about. She is met with blank stares by more or less all the students in my class. She does things called "happy grades" for christ sakes. Don't expect to learn from her but from the book.
Mrs. Moseley is the best math teacher I have had here at UT. I got recommended to her from 3 of my friends who had her previously. She is willing to work with you if you have trouble and she won't move on to the next concept unless everyone understands the first one.
Person above is mistaken. Happy grades are incredibly easy, so what if they have an odd name. She makes the class easy and explains well. She may be a little odd, but I enjoy the class.
Mrs. Moseley is by far the best teacher I have ever had! I took Pre-Calculous last semester and had a teacher I could barely understand yet alone learn from! Coming into Mrs. Moseley's class this semester has helped me so much and I have never had a teacher who has ever explained in depth to me the concepts of what I am being taught!
Class moves at pace so that all students understand the material, and she regularly stays after to help any confused. Grading system helps those who might struggle a little on the test, but still makes you do the work. Humor is a little odd at times, but still gets a chuckle.
Ms. Moseley is a fantastic teacher! Her HW assignments are reasonable yet challenging. She is willing to always help her students and I see her stay after quite a lot. I joined late and she was very understanding and let me make up past hw. Definitely take this class if you need someone who will help you through it.
Very nice lady. Web assign is a pain but is the best study tool. Before every exam she will give everyone an old exam to study off of. Happy grades are a nice boost to those who do poorly on tests. She uses blackboard which is always nice. Very nice lady. I wouldn't take math from any other teacher if I had the choice. I highly recommend her!
I have taken her Math 119 and 123 class. It is simple to do good in her classes. Though after taking two classes from her I have acknowledged that she is not the best teacher she shows you how to do problems but not the reason behind them... But this is balanced by her telling you exactly what you have to do on the tests...
She is good. Very laid back. Expectations are clear. The material is not very challenging or interesting(matrices), but she tries to bring it alive by creating games and such. She is pregnant too.
Very nice lady. Boring as crap though, if you can pay attention to a very boring soft spoken teacher you'll be fine, homework sucks, web assign is terrible. test are pretty easy
She tries to keep you interested in math by perfoming different types of visual aids to explain different things. She also uses certain words to help you remember processes on test. She's a great teacher.
She is a great teacher, very clear and explains things very well. This class is easy if you attend class and do the work. Highly recommended!!!
take ms moseley!!! she is really good at explaining the concepts and is willing to go over any questions. she grades more than fairly and gives partial credit; i got As on all of her tests. she does everything she can to help you!
Take Moseley! She can be sort of weird at times, but does have some sense of humor. She's very very helpful and willing to explain things. As long as you pay attention there's no reason anyone can't get an A in her class.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had. She really wants her students to succeed and actually makes calculus easy. She grades the tests fairly. It is almost impossible not to get an A.
I chose this class because of the ratings on this site, but it was a HUGE mistake. Moseley started off the class being comprehensive, but it has been downhill ever since. She doesn't explain things, and spends most of her lecture time doing Q&A for lazy students, leaving 15 minutes for a lecture each day.
Pretty easy class. She grades the tests easily & gives partial credit. She also pretty much gives you what will be on the test. If you need help just go to her. She will help you. Yes class is boring, but its not a big deal. Its better than taking a hard teacher. WebAssign is required. It sucks, but is relatively easy if you just do the work.
first off, don't even buy the book. i haven't picked it up the first time. BUT, absolutely great teacher. I never struggled or even had to study. she teaches extremely well. her exams are super easy, and you can earn points back once you take the final exam. I strongly recommend to take her. her class has been an absolute breeze
I took her because of the comments on this site, but I hated this class. Her explanations are terrible, and she messes up on her addition and subtraction very frequently, and blames it on the fact that she doesn't have a calculator. You definitely need to go to class. She's late to class a lot, and gets confused even more.
She wasn't that bad. She is weird but a good teacher. She has practice test on blackboard which are extremely helpful.
She was by far the BEST teacher I've had so far. Although she was kinda strange at times, she explained the material really well. Her tests were extremely easy because she posts old tests on blackboard that are very much like the ones she gives. An A is very easy to get with Moseley.
great teacher!her class was very easy is you attended it regularly and took good notes on the powerpoint.i made it out with an A- because of her easy exams and how she grades the final.it also helps to have a good TA.make sure you dont have Devin Neubrander, he is terrible. I had Ryan Loga who is excellent.do your webassigns as well. ask for help
I hated this class. We didn't do anything for at least the first 15 min of class because she was always late, unprepared, or both. She spent 20 minutes answering personal questions that should be asked in office hours. So she lectured for only 10-15 min. Every time she would add/multiply simple numbers there would be a long pause before the answer!
Best. Math. Teacher. PERIOD. she literally LOVES math and she makes that clear from the way she teaches it. You have to be completely stupid not to learn from her because she breaks down for you so you can comprehend the material. she makes some corny jokes or rambles on at times but she's so nice and helpful! take her for math!! easy A if you try!
Pretty easy class. Treats class like children but that's just because she has a daughter. Has an easy way of explaining things and is willing to help anytime and gives extra credit opportunities. There is NO reason you should fail this class with her
You have to take this professor. She would give every student an A if she could. You don't need the book, just study her practice tests. Very nice and helpful.
She was not really clear on explaining the material/content of the subject we were learning..honestly the SI sessions saved my ass
Great teacher! Will work with you and make sure you understand. Breaks everything down for you.
GO TO CLASS and you will understand.
Does not explain well and rather confusing, tendency of being late, not clear on what is being graded...avoid is my opinion but it might be different for you
Makes the material easy to understand. Talks a little like you're in kindergarten, but is goofy and really helpful if you ask.
Honestly no one in the class knows what's going on. There isn't really a structure and we never have any idea what our tests are on. She's really chill and flexible but incredibly vague. Easy class...just confusing as to what is going on.
Prof. Moseley is an awesome teacher! she goes very slowly and will go back over things if you ask. she gives online homework about once a week, but it's fairly easy. i never had calculus in high school and i'm making an A in her class.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had! She talks to you like you are a kid, its great. If you miss class,it cant hurt you as long as you have the notes from someone else you don't even need lecture. DONT buy a book. it is expensive and you will never use it. Amazing teacher. Super easy. take her
Dr. Moseley is an amazing teacher. She draws adorable cartoons to illustrate what we're learning. She does sort of treat you like a kid, but sometimes that's what you need when learning calculus. I understood everything she taught. No midterm and she doesn't really cancel class. I recommend her!
The class felt like a middle school math class. Simple concepts and simple demonstrations. Nothing wrong with that, though. She seems spaced out sometimes, but she's pretty good at teaching the material. Pay great attention to detail! Memorize the examples and Powerpoint slides word for word and you will ace every test, no doubt about it.
This class felt like a middle school math class at times. Simple concepts and simple examples. Nothing wrong with that, though. She seems spaced out at times, but she taught the material pretty well. Pay great attention to detail! Memorize every example and every word off her powerpoint slides and you will ace every test, no doubt about it.
I would highly recommend this class to ANYONE, but especially people who don't like math or aren't good at it. I'm an English major and I was dreading my math credit, but Moseley totally changed my perspective on math. She's HILARIOUS and rather easy, as long as you try. It's a hands-on class, and focuses on the creative and theoretical. Love her!
I had a quiz every Mon, homework due Wed, and group work on Fri. Online textbook is required in order to do web assignments. She didn't take attendance but if you don't come to class you won't do well. Group projects are a little annoying but an easy grade. Lectures are very helpful and clear. Go to tutoring if you struggle with algebra.
Dr. Clark is passionate about math and it shows in her teaching. She explains things in a very simplistic way. The material is hard, but not unmanageable.
I loved Dr Clark! Four tests and a final and a pretty easy quiz about every Friday or every other Friday. There are quite a few online homework assignments and they're annoying but if you just do them you'll be fine. She dumbs down the material and makes it super understandable. Take her!
I have never had a teacher explain math in a better way. She uses laymen terms and is very easily understood. Definitely pick her as a professor if you can!!
Professor Clark explains material in a very practical way so everyone understands. She won't bore you with a bunch of fluff, but instead will offer many examples so you are familiar with how to approach problems come test time. Would definitely take her again. Impressive communicator and clearly knowledgeable.
Great professor, made math actually fun. Always willing to help work with you to make sure you understand a topic. Very passionate about math and it shows in her teaching!
If you literally have any questions- she will answer them in a heartbeat. Somehow made math fun and interesting- even for someone like me, which struggles with math usually. If you show up, and ask questions when you are really stuck, you probably will pass.
Dr. Clark is a nice, laid back person but her teaching methods did not work well for me. There are quizzes every day that are mandatory (she uses these for attendance) and if you're sick or can't come you get a zero regardless. Did not answer my questions well and did not teach clearly.
I took her class in the summer, so it wasn't one of the stupid "flipped classrooms." She's a little bit of a hippie, and her class felt pretty relaxed. She's good at answering questions as they come up. She also teaches problems that are similar to the online homework (and tests), so you don't learn one thing in class and then get stuck later.
Yes, she makes you feel like youre in 2nd grade with her lessons. Yes, its annoying. But honestly its an easy class. Some topics are on the difficult side, but she does curve when it is fair and you bring it up to her. Shell help you understand and the exams are fine as long as you study her study guides a few days in advance.
Dr. Clark is amazing! If you are concerned about math 113 being difficult, like I was, take her class. She makes a genuine effort in relating math to the "real world" and she is SO SWEET & quirky.
MAT113 is the easiest math you could possibly take. The material is very straightforward and familiar. The thing about when you sign up for this professor is that she doesn't teach the class at all. A TA teaches the entire thing so, whether your TA is good or not, you won't know until you are sitting in the class. Mine was fine but nothing great.
This professor was not present. It was just a grad student, so hope you get a good grad student. I had Jacob Honeycut. He did well, however was the type to explain it to the students like it was easy, when it wasn't always. Overall, decent class.
Dr. Clark is a really sweet professor who is always willing to help in any way that she can. I am notoriously terrible at math in general, let alone calculus, but I managed to get an A in her class because of how unique and efficient her teaching style is. Definitely take her class!
The way she sets up her class is so much better than the other calc teachers. She makes it very easy to understand and if you miss a class catch up. All slides are posted and an in-depth agenda. I think people who take her class have the highest average on the final because her tests are very similar to the final. She's just a little awkward.
Jeneva is undeniably a nice person but, I would not recommend her. All of her lectures are only power point lessons. One thing I know is that power points and math do not go well together. Her teaching style is very confusing, I have never felt this lost in a math class ever. If you have the choice, do not pick her, you will regret it.
This was an online summer class so it was accelerated, but lectures felt like she was just rambling on which made the material even more confusing. Drop her and find anyone else if you can.
attendance mandatory, access code restricted quizzes at the end of each class, every single assignment despite the workload or detail was 100 points. No make ups. she rambles on with confusing examples that make the content even harder to explain, barely taught my class, the TA taught. not hard content but it is made way more difficult by her style
The professor taught maybe 8 classes total, and the TA taught the rest of the course. Our TA was so monotonous and didn't make the class engaging at all. There is mandatory quizzes at the end of each class, and if you miss class and email to ask for the code, she won't email you back most of the time. The tests do not show you any feedback either.
Do not be fooled by the 4/5 rating on here, trust me. If you want to do well in this class, pray you have a good TA. Dr. Clark rarely taught and when she did it made absolutely no sense. I tried my best in the class to understand but the lectures were no help when it came to homework, quizzes, and exams. They provide 0 help for exams.
taught by slideshows that didn't explain how to actually work problems out. in class work was a random question of the day and a few problems to work out that's locked with a code. class did NOT prepare you for the daily homework or exams. would not allow homework makeups, had to basically beg her to get the code for the in class assignment.
Dr. Clark is great! She has a ton of grades and makes it very easy to get a good grade. There are group quizzes after every lecture, but they are not very difficult. There are also homework assignments due a couple of times a week, but I don't think you have to turn them all in. Our TA typically made practice exams as study tools too.
This is the worst professor I have ever had. She rambles on and on about useless stuff. She likes to get attitude when asking simple questions and does not understand that her students have lives outside of this course. The work is extremely heavy for a mini course. I recommend finding someone who is actually good at teaching this course.
Dr. Clark is sweet, but not a good professor. She treats her students like they're in high school, and she let the TA teach too much. Many of the concepts were hard to follow, and she made us use the textbook she wrote for this class. I found it to be entirely useless when I had questions. The homework also didn't match up to the lessons a lot.
class was not difficult. TA teaches it most of the time. there is a group project at the end where you have to present and there is a an assignment every day at the end of class. I would definitely take 113 as an elective.
She is a very nice person; I will give her that, but as a professor, she is not great. All of her lectures are from an already made slideshow where all of the steps are already done. It is almost impossible to follow along. She forgets how to do the work on the slideshow, and we have to wait for her to remember before we can keep moving.
She is witty and sweet but not cut out to be a professor, or at least not online. It was difficult to understand the context and problems weren't solved by them in class or halfway solved. The tests ask for explanations rather than solving. It was difficult to get a good grade. Even though it was open note, you had to reteach yourself everything
I took calc 2 over the summer with this professor. She has a specific teaching style and is not really willing to adapt even though the teaching style was not beneficial for the majority of the class. If you are planning on taking this class over summer just be ready for it to take up a lot of your time.
I would never take Dr. Clark again. Most frustrating class ever. Her exams are so confusing and impossible to study for. She skips over so many steps claiming that it's just algebra and not that important -- even though she said that the algebra was the hardest part. DON'T TAKE HER! Seriously, drop out of the class and take it later if you have to!
My 6th grade math teacher was better than this chick. Also, don't even take the time to study, none of it is gonna be on the exam :)
Do not take. Lectures are "stories," does not explain material, tests were nothing like what we practiced or reviewed. Make a GroupMe. Help each other out. Or maybe just **don't take her** at all.
DO NOT TAKE. For reference, here are quotes from our class GroupMe after the first exam: "I actually think I may start crying," "A history question???? On my math exam?," "Imma just take a bath with a toaster."
This is the worst professor I've ever had. I know that's a bold statement, but I'd never say so if it weren't true. She doesn't teach, but rather tells "stories" that have nothing to do with the material, and is not a help of any sorts. I even reached out to ask how I could better prepare for the coursework, and I was told to simply drop the class.
DO NOT TAKE. You would think "oh this class will be easy" and yes it would be if she actually taught. She relies heavily on the TA's. Test are full of nonsense that was not taught, you're only hope in this class is dropping it as soon as you can
I'm taking this class late, so I've had many professors at UTK. Dr. Clark for 113 is the worst. Her lessons are not lessons, but incoherent stories, that don't explain what we're doing and the exams are nothing like the review. She's also rude, I once asked her a question about she them asked unprompted if I had a learning disability.
She get side tracked a lot during her lectures, usually talking about something unrelated to whatever she's teaching. She's really hard to follow during lecture, though she normally lets you have a cheat sheet for exams.
Professor Clark's lectures were very difficult to follow. She normally went on a tangent about something unrelated to math, and as someone who does not pick up math easily, it was frustrating. Attendance wasn't mandatory, though there were activities that had to be completed by the end of the class day. She did let us have cheat sheets for exams.
She was very nice but she often got distracted and forgot to like basically teach us math so it was extremely hard to follow along.
Lectures are confusing at first, had to look up a lot of the material by myself at first. Allows a cheat sheet for tests, but she isn't great at giving feedback, she tells you answer than leading you through it. Her GTAs are a hit or miss, had one really good one whilst the other was not great at feedback.
She lets you have a full cheat sheet on the exam and if you put enough on there, you will get a good grade. The homework isn't difficult and will help you prepare for exams. You have a couple of questions to answer at the end of every class but the TAs help with it. I didn't study at all for the exams but still got As on all of them.
A lot of people are saying she was the worst professor they've ever had, which is overkill. Yes, she often got sidetracked during her lectures, but that was because she loved what she was teaching and wanted us to as well. The content was easy if you just did the homework, so everyone saying the exam content was not related just didn't do the work.
Dr. J was a very fun teacher for a very fun class! She brought snacks every Monday while we discussed the film we watched/article we read. We got to do a lot more basic math than most upper 400 level classes while sometimes still being challenged to learn something new. She was also very lenient with deadlines.
There was a good amount of homework but she gave a lot of opportunities to get your grade up, even if you did bad on one assignment. She showed us past exams prior to our exams and then let us bring in a notes sheet to an exam, which really helped. The class and work was more about how math works than just solving for an answer.
I actually really enjoyed her class. Dr. Clark is very passionate about her work and it shows. She is very friendly to students and is quite understanding when you are not able to make it to class. You will get a good grade as long as you pay attention during class and take notes. Her exams are all a direct reflection of what she teaches.
I did not like this class, she was a quirky teacher who taught us like we were a bunch of 5-year-olds. Good if you do not understand math, but if you took any basic geometry or algebra in high school, it is the same thing. Homework was easy, and so were tests. You get a whole cheat sheet for every test.
Loved Dr. Clark however, the way she taught was through stories in the slides. So if you missed a day of class you would be probably be confused. Every lesson has homework but half of them get dropped. Took this class because it was supposed to be the easiest math, but with her some of the lessons were challenging to understand.
Honestly this class was super easy and I did not really show up to class and still managed an A. Professor Clark is super helpful and if you ask for extra help or any extra worksheets, she is more than happy to help! I would definitely recommend but the math project we had to do was unnecessary. The final was the easiest math exam I've ever taken.
She's very "quirky" and uses it as an excuse for some of her odd behaviors. The tests are fine - you get a cheat sheet. You do have a group project that is very unnecessary. Even though she is teaching from her own textbook, some days it seemed as if she didn't even know why she was teaching the lesson. Sometimes rude when I would ask questions.
This class was meh, it wasn't difficult if you keep up with the work but if you fall behind I can see where it would be hard. She loved to use her own ways of solving equations and if you use another way it would be incorrect. She also loves analogies and you will be expected to remember them. I loved my TA though (shoutout Dahkota).
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS! She blabs about her personal life, rather than teaching, and she tells nonsensical stories she thinks relate to the material. She makes you feel stupid for not knowing what's going on in her dense brain. She gives out minimal info. She lives in her own world; everything has to be her way. I have never hated a teacher more. h8
These reviews are confusing. This class is extremely doable and as long as you go to class and watch her podcasts you will be so fine. I passed this class with flying colors. She is very accessible and answers emails fast. She is a tad quirky and judgey but overall easy class with lots of collaboration.
A completely manageable and doable class. There's "lots of homework", but not really at all cause she drops half of them. Tests are fine and even easier if you watch the podcasts she films. Lectures sometimes can be longwinded but you can leave class early as long as you finish all the work for the day.
