Mr Jordan is a excellent teacher. He will try his best for the students to understand.He gives take home qizzes and his test come from homework problems and the quizzes.
Mr. Jordan is a pain. He makes stupid comments repeatedly about "rich kids like you," that are so annoying. He tends to berate students he doesn't like. He liked me but I couldn't stand him. He is not the clearest teacher either.

Mr Jordan is an excellent teacher. He talks to encourage you to have ambition for a greater future. Quizzes are take home and helps you to study at your best, because you want to make A. Moreso, you will see those questions again on your test.

Mr. Jordan is very good at helping out and trying to help a stundent understand. Unfortunately, he has some strange quirks. Some rather annoying, strange quirks. It makes his class difficult to sit through.
Mr. Jordan is a great teacher. He's always in his office when he says he is, and he's more than willing to help you work through a problem on a quiz. He's the first math teacher I've had who's really made me understand the concepts. Be sure to take him if you have the option; I would in a heartbeat.

This is the easyst class I ever had. I guarantee that you will pass the class with an B+ or higher is you do the homework. Quiz is not a main problem. Because is all group work. But remember to use the quiz to study for the test. HIGHLY Recomment it!!
He is an excellent teacher. He makes you feel very comfortable and gets on your level.
He's a great professor. Take home quizzes helped my grade alot! Tests are hard. If you're not a math person - don't take calculus! Go visit him during his office hours and he'll explain things. Great guy, hard class, but enjoyable. If you have to take Calculus - get Mr. Jordan!
I was terrified of taking this class when I first started college-but Mr. Jordan is a great teacher. He makes sure that everyone understands what is going on before covering new material. Highly recommend this teacher.

Great teacher, possibly the best math teacher at GPC, I failed the first test with a 35 and still got an A in the class. sometimes he'll even give you the questions that will be on the test when he reviews. Very helpfull, just do the homework and quizes, only 4 people drop the class out of about 35
Jordan is a major PAIN! He makes stupid jokes and is very condescending!
He makes tests unecessarily complicated and tries to trick you and trip you up on them instead of giving you basic problems which prove you know the material. If he's in a bad mood he takes it out on everyone in the class. Not remotely helpful or professional.
He does not know how to answer questions. All his notes are from a piece of paper and that is all he can explain. Not a very good teacher.
it was easy for me to take his class because i know calculus better than him..but he is not a good calculus professor...i guess he is ok for college algebra but not for calculus.if he loose his student solution manual, he doent know how he can help u..

The worst class I have ever taken. He doesn't explain the work, he just writes everything on the board and gets mad at students for not understanding. He makes weird comments toward students and is rude. Interrupts the lesson often. He is also very moody and expects students to "teach themselves."
DO NOT TAKE HIM!While he makes the class fun & he has a great sense of humor, he doesn't really teach. He'll rapidly write stuff on the board but never explain it.His tests will be the absolute hardest problems he finds & he likes to reword them to trick you.He is very fair on grading but not enough to make up for the poor grades you will receive.
Terrible Professor. Is obsessed with talking about the "cognitive demand" and wants students to "teach themselves." Enjoys hitting on white girls in class, but loves to talk about black gals. He's an odd man & is in a bad mood every day. Run!
Jordad's lectures are not very informative. He quickly writes examples up on the board, not really explaining the concepts of how he derived his answers. This class is an uphill battle.
Make sure your cognative demand is high, for whatever that means. You have to stay on your work and if you have a life outside of school, his class is tough. His notes can sometimes be unclear and he seems fustrated if you make him clarify. He wants you to learn on your own. If we decenter him from the class, then why do we need him as a professor?
He has interesting methods and views on how students should learn and how he should teach. If you take him, be prepared to go to the math lab.
Anyone who says hes hard is an idiot, he makes learning math interesting, has a great sense of humor, and is a good teacher, he writes a little fast at times but that is no big deal. I hate math yet i got an easy A.
If you're inherently even decent at math, you'll do fine. I'm not, however, and I had kind of a tough time understanding some stuff. 99% of it is calculator work and it's pretty repetitive stuff, though I can't say i'll ever remember enough of it to actually apply it. He makes a lot of really bad jokes and, in spite of the fact that I did really really well throughout the entire semester, didn't cut me any slack on my final, even though I had pneumonia and could barely see straight.
I think Mr. Jordan needs to work on his people skills. I was having problems with him and approached him at his office to clear it up. He acted as if he had no idea what I was talking about. He was a little too confrontational with students during class. He's not a bad teacher, but his personality tends to get in the way of his teaching. In the end, I found him to be very helpful though. You just have to get him in a one-on-one type of situation to be able to understand him better.
I always had fun in this class. He is a hard teacher. but he makes it fun by going on rabbit trails. he gives take home quizzes that really helped my grade. im really bad at math and have always gotten C's and Ds..but here i got a B and didnt really try that hard! love him!
Mr. Jordan tends to go more for what the women want. He doesn't bring a whole lot of interest to the class. on a scale of 1-10 i'd give him a 5.

He was awesome the first day... but only talks about racism and how african americans make less money! and you are expected to turn in you quiz which he never goes over!
Professor Jordan is an amazing teacher, at first when i signed up for the class, i didn't understand the material at all. But once he put it into perspective all the material became clear and easy to understand. His tests are taken from the take home quizes, which are all problems taken from the book. If you do these quizzes and study, you'll pass.

calc is hard, and he reallly tries to make the class easy foryou. you will have tak home quizez and most of the tests are streight from them. He jumps from one thing to the other, which is really confusing, but overal I got an A in his class.

He comes off as intimidating but once u get to know him better he's really cool. He's helpful if u go ask him questions and the tests come straight from the quizzes and the quizzes are take home and group work so just study quizzes and do the example problems and u should be good.
If you have a basic understanding of the principles of Cal. you should do fine. He goes at a very fast pace, and will leave you behind. Be ready to visit him during office hours, and spend some time in the Math Lab.
if you're not a math genius, then dont take his class! He will explain things sooooo fast that those people who are mathematically challenged find it so hard to understand what the heck his talking about. He makes hints on what's going to be in the tests, and give you the total opposite on what he said. He's a waste of time! Beware!
This was my fifth time taking college algebra and he was the only one who really made me understand the material. He is a cool teacher and an even greater guy.
He's a cool teacher but he teaches REALLY FAST. I'm not very good at math so i have to work extra hard but nonetheless he's still a good teacher. It's just hard to keep up. you have to study ALOT for the tests. the tests are usually around 12 questions and he gives take home quizzes every week which is really awesome.
Good guy, teaches very fast, so be able to keep up. Quizes are take home, and tests are almost the same questions from the quizes. Gets off-track very often, but none the less he is very helpful, always friendly and open to questions.

He is always saying things like, "I don't know why you white women bother coming to class, you're just going to go marry some rich man and spend all his money." On each one of his quizzes, he marked things wrong that were actually correct. I had to visit him several times to fix my grades, and he is hardly ever in his office during office hours.
I like his class coz i got A.This is the first time i took his class ,and he gave us a lot of homework.I really enjoy his class coz i did all homeworks and some extra works about this class.His class is very fast and the only thing i recommend is to read ahead and finish all homeworks before you go to his class.That is also what i did.
Tests are easy, but the final is not because it is departmental. All other classes that he teaches were easy, his tests come from his quizes and the problems that he goes through in class, just show up and you will do fine. Calculus in general is a hard course and he does care about his students grades.

He's a cool dude. He knows a lot of stuff and would be cool to get a beer with. But he spends WAYYY too much time giving social commentary instead of Calculus. He's scatter brained while teaching and not all that helpful during office hours. He's very likable, just not the best teacher. I wouldn't take him again but there are much worse teachers
The lectures are hard to follow and mostly off topic. Going to his office isn't really useful for help because he won't help you. He likes to put things on the tests that are more advanced than precalculus and expects you to know how to solve them. I wouldn't recommend him unless you can teach yourself the material.
Be prepared to earn your grade. Do not expect his class to be spoon feeding session from your previous learning experience. Get to class, pay attention, ask questions, do your homework. He will grade you on what you put up in class and out. He is fair with his grades, and will give partial credits on all your work. You will get what you earned.
This class is easy. All you have to do is do the quizes, study them and you get an easy A. The test questions are like those on the quizes. I missed three classes before the test and got an A. All I did was study the quizes. Plus, he goes over two methods of doing the problems, calculator(graphing) and/or long way. Learn to use your calculator.

He does NOT teach. In class, he calls students up to solve it on the board. Does not explain how he got it. And when everyone is confused, he goes off the topic with his personal ideology. THis is not right. THe partial credits on the exams are meager and because there is no MC its hard to get A. pheww...
He is very helpful. He gives us the test, each problems are same kind of problems as the homework.

he doesnt answer your questions, he doesnt help you, and you go to bed praying everynight by some grace of God that you will pass. i cry everytime i fail a test because i spend hours on end in the math lab, and just because you use a different method to get an answer he will mark it wrong he never stays on topic, and he doesnt let you take notes
I had been out of school for quite some time, lets face it. Algebra is not used in day to day life. Lucky for me I could look at the textbook and comprehend. He teaches like a textbook, goes off topic during class, and asking questions still leave you in the dark. If you don't have problems with math he is cool. Honers classes should be his place
He is a funny teacher but he is hard. I understood what he was teaching while I was in class but when it came time to do the test or quizzes, I was lost. I wanted to know what I made on my final and still do not know to this day. I emailed him 2-3 times a week and received no response from him whatsoever. If you want a hard teacher, go for it!
Easy, I'm horrible, and I got a high B. The quizzes are all open book, and the tests are the exactly like the quizzes! So just study the quizzes and you'll ace the tests. Does a pretty good job at teaching, talks about random (but funny) things.

Mr. Jordan wasn't too bad. I would never take him again. He teaches the material once and the rest, you figure out yourself or you have to ask a classmate. He doesn't like to answer questions very often, sort of like it annoys him to do so. If you need one on one help, he is not the teacher for you.

He is the worst teacher ever for math. He does not teach, just sits at his desk talking about life. Expects you to learn the material or ask a classmate. If no one understands it your screwed for the test. If you dont use his way to figure out the answer he will mark it wrong, then tell you to do his way.
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST math teacher iv'e ever had. He has a tendency to pick on certain students for no reason, he doesn't know anything about math, hes rude, and i didn't learn anything. I had to get a tutor to pass this class - DON"T TAKE HIM!!

Not a good teacher espcially for learning support. Funny guy, but he doesn't teach. He acts like everybody is on the same level and constantly gets students to write problems on the board rather than doing them himself.
Ok here is the deal with Mr. Jordan. The 'projects" are the tests just with different numbers. I mean EXACTLY the test. if youre trying to learn college algebra and have to take more math classes skip him and choose a professor who TEACHES. if you just need to take college Algebra and want an 'A' take him. just memorize the projects!
Funny guy, but sorta mean to some of the students. He liked me because we talked about football and beer. Just do the projects and your portfolio and your straight. If you suck at math, he wont hold your hand.

Mr. Jordan will NOT hold your hand and he is not the most patient instructor. However, his projects are very fair and will be the key to passing his class if you will just turn them in. He is fair with his grading. I hate Math but I passed with a good grade. I would recommend him but you will have to spend quality time studying.
He is one of the few teachers you will ever take that doesn't care if his student pass or fail. He minds his own business. If you ask a question, he will answer it but won't be clear. Class is easy, but you will have to put in a lot of work to pass. He's a funny guy as well, and for a math class it's not boring.
doesn't answer questions when you ask him, test are just like quizes he let you take home or do with classmates, however the concepts are the hardest questions you can take in a college algebra class. tests are all word problems.

AVOID. His projects aka homework are fairly easy. He is not helpful. He frequently makes errors & you have to erase everything you just wrote b/c he did it wrong. He will argue with you about what online homework he assigns & doesn't back down even when the whole class tells him he's wrong. Needs to get a date, he mentions womens worth constantly..
I enjoyed this class very much! He will answer questions if you don't understand and redo the problems over again. Do the projects before the due date, do your math lab homework, and do the book homework that he doesn't grade(odd number answers are on the back of the book), and you will do fine!
Do not take this teacher. He doesn't answer questions when asked in class, doesn't respond to e-mails, and the online homework does not correspond to the upcoming test. He made me feel very stupid for asking questions, with smart responses. He spends more than half the class talking about irrelevant things and then won't help with problems. AVOID!!
He is just making fun of student. He doesn't teach good, he just jump from one side of the class to another. In general he is not a good teacher.
Here's the deal, If you struggle with Math and you need to pass LS then AVOID! him like the plague. If on the other hand Math is your forte, and learning support is just a mandatory class you have to take (where you need absolutely no help from the instructor) then by all means take him. By far one of the worst Instructors I have ever had.
He is one of my favorites. You can not beat his style. I am very pleased with his teaching method. He will tutor you, you just have to know what questions to ask and the only way to know that is to read the chapters.
Obviously if your in learning support you struggle in math, Do not take this teacher, he doesn't teach well, he hates and refuses to answer questions, no one on one teacher help, get ready to live in the tutorial lab, he treats you as if he expects you to no this stuff and your aggravating him, test count for 50% of your grade, run away

By FAR the WORST professor I've ever had. He DOESN'T teach you, and has no problem loading on assignments. He DOESN'T respond to questions you have, and acts as if you should already know the answer. Avoid this professor if you actually want to learn anything about math, especially for learning support math.
They didn't have clear instructions their really bad at explaining what works needs to get done. Their course page is really messy and they really need to put more work into make the page look more clear because their is a lot of clutter.
