Great professor, easy to understand, and very nice!

Lauren Mavica really is a great professor. She makes her lectures very interesting and she has fun ways to help us remember certain topics. She always shows up to class with a smile on her face. If there is an opportunity to take her for any other class, i definitely will.

Awesome teacher. If she taught another class, I would definitely take her again.

She posts her PowerPoints on BB, but because her PowerPoints don't have much on them, it's best to show up to lecture because she ELABORATES way more. She gives alot of extra cedit quizzes and extra credit questions on the tests (3). If you show up to lecture and take notes (or record like I did) and STUDY for the tests, you will pass with an AB.

explains everything completely and repeats things over and over that are going to be on the test! she was great!

Easy class and good professor I would take again. If you to class you can get away with not purchasing the book. She hasn't been teaching very long and her lectures are all over the place, if you ask a question she probably won't really answer it and leave you even more confused. She emphasizes what's on the test though so the class isn't that hard

She is sooo funny and makes sure that you are having a good time in lecture. Sometimes she tends to get behind with material but she does a good job of catching up. Sometimes she goes off track with stories but she will make you laugh. She would give the class pop quizzes, don't worry though these were always extra credit. I would take her again!

She was a very easy teacher. She talks alot and very fast, but if you know is what is on the powerpoints and write down her examples she gives you will pass with an easy A. She gives extra credit pop quizes, and uses those questions on test. Same with homework. She is entertaining and nice to look at as well. I would take her again.

Professor Mavica is so sweet and really cares about her students understanding the material well. She stresses the important points we need to know for our exam and gives study guides for all of them. She gives EC quizzes at the beginning of most classes which really help. Posts PPs online but they are very vague so go to class! Don't get the book.

Professor Mavica has been by far my favorite professor! She is so sweet and hilarious. She gave a lot of pop quizzes that you could only benefit from because they counted towards extra credit for the next exams and they tend to be questions that will be on the exams. All you need is the access code to do homework which is due before every class

Dr. Mavica is the best. Can teach the education. She extra credit every time she has a quiz. Take her for Biological Bases of Behavior :)

Dr. Mavica is AMAZING! She made General Psych SO interesting! Hilarious, sweet and caring. Offers A LOT of extra credit. Her class is so fun, I don't recommend skipping. TAKE HER!!

BEST PROF EVER! FAU needs more like her. Take her for Gen Psy (or anything actually), she makes class super interesting with stories that relate to the material. Exams are exactly what she explains in class and offers a lot of extra credit! Very approachable also if you ever need to ask her anything. Hope she is teaching more courses in the fall.

Mavica is such a sweetie and caring professor. She will give extra credit opportunities. The homework is fine, and the exams aren't bad, you just have to study and know the material the best possible. TAKE HER for this class, not Lucas. I love Mavica, I may take her in another class next semester!

Mavica is awesome. She's really sweet and cares about her students. She tries making a lot of jokes to lighten the mood and she'll curve the grades at the end if too many did bad. Never went to class and got a B.

Took this class Spring 2017, Bio bases is not an easy class to take; very interesting but a lot of information. Dr. Mavica is super sweet and never throws anything you don't know on the exam. She edits slides when she has time so make sure to read and come to class (for lectures + extra credit). I am now taking her again for DEP 3053 (fall 2017)

Professor Mavica is a good professor to take. She makes lectures more enjoyable. The class is not very difficult. Homework is online so dont forget to do it every week by the due date. Her curriculum and tests are very straight forward and wont catch you offguard. She is funny and nice and the class itself is interesting.

She's amazing, she gives online quizzes in class for extra credit. Her test is straight from her powerpoint and her class is super enjoyable. It's a regular college class, you put in some time and work and you'll get an A.

Tokk her forhuman development. She is very nice and down to earth. She reads off the power points (which are long) and then explains the concepts. She uses examples but can go on a tangent for some of them. We used Mindtap for homework but I didnt use the book. SHe gives small quizzes for extra credit. Would reccomend if you like talkative profs.

She has a great sense of humor, and while her lectures sometimes veer off-topic, she keeps the class entertaining. The material was presented in an intuitive way, and the exams were taken directly from her powerpoints. Very easy class, but still interesting

Grade is based on three exams and weekly online homework. You must participate in research studies to pass; do not procrastinate because they can be hard to come by. Attendance is not mandatory, but you'll do a lot better on the exams if you go to class. The final is the third exam, not cumulative. Dr. Mavica really cares about her students!

Class was graded by 3 exams and MindTap homework. Homework was pretty easy, but sometimes time consuming. The tests were pretty easy if you went to class. I really never studied for this class. I just did the homework and attended all lectures. She gave some extra credit, and was very nice.

Mavica was good for the Intro to Psych class for Honors Program students. The tests are easy as long as you study and pay attention in class. However, just know that she gives a decent amount of writing (like 2-3 pages of writing due every week) for the honors class. Grading breakdown was 50% writing, 50% 3 tests + Mindtap.

Great professor

Professor Mavica is really nice and funny and a good professor overall. Only 3 exams (pretty easy, use study guides and powerpoints) , Mindtap due every week (super easy), and short extra credit quizzes in class, so go to class if you want points added to your test grades. You def dont need to go to every class, but try to go to at least some!!

Tests are based on her powerpoints so do the study guide based off of that. She does extra credit quizzes. She reads off her powerpoints in lectures. I don't pay attention in any of her classes or take notes, I just come for the EC and still passed. Beware of doing her EC outside of class, she's caught a few ppl. Do the HW it helps and it's easy.

She is a great teacher and is really passionate about psychology. She used a really great homework software that helped with memorizing the course material effectively. She gives extra credit at least once a week in class. Lectures are always interesting.

Amazing teacher! She really makes it easy for you to understand the subject and will always help you if you need it plus she gives lots of extra credit. Just take her!

She always has real-life examples and makes any class interesting. I took her for 2 classes and would take her for everything if I could. Extra credit (1 point) quiz at the beginning of every class and 3 exams. Online homework over the semester worth an exam grade.

I took human perception with her and i have to say she the best i actually enjoy going to class it was easy to understand i don't even have to go over her powerpoint afterward because she explain everything so clear in class. the grade was based on 3 exams and mind tap. super easy A and you actually learn

Easy class if you study. She gives a lot of extra credit but you have to attend lectures to get it. Lectures can be kind of boring but she tries to make the class entertaining and she really cares about the material she teaches.

She gives tons of extra credit in class. She is funny and very nice. I made the mistake of not going to class but her tests were not hard at all which allowed me to get an A-. I recommend not taking any chances, GO TO CLASS!!!. 3 tests, and online homework. just study the powerpoints to ace the test !

Just do the online homework, it is a super easy 100 points towards your grade. Had her for Bio Bases II and she is amazing. She genuinely teaches, and her tests are extremely straightforward. She gives lots of EC, so GO TO CLASS. Overall, super easy class, super chill professor. Take her. You won't regret it!

She is so sweet and genuinely wants students to pass. The homework is online and actually helps with studying, and is an easy 100. She gives extra credit quizzes in class which are added points to the exam. The material is hard but she makes it as simple as possible!

She might be one of the best professors I've ever had. The way she teaches, you can tell that she actually does care about the subject. I've always had trouble with focusing and memorization but the way she teaches is very visual, she gives real examples to definitions and shows videos that help you really remember.

Dr. Mavica, has tendencies of slightly going off topic sometimes, but it's the cutest thing. I found her pretty in my opinion, and she seem's young at heart. That's just the thoughts I had when she went off topic LOL. Other than that, her SI's post worksheets throughout the chapters, just use those to study & use her PPTs to review.

She is a great professor . Reminds me of my older sister when she emails class to remind us not to forget to do the homework and its due time . She is so nice cant help but to cherish and respect .

Take Dr. Mavica for any and every class that she is available! There were 3 exams and online hw counted towards the grade as well as extra credit quizzes during class. She is the nicest professor I've ever met and actually makes class fun. Easy A, but if you don't study then don't expect to understand the material.

She is a great professor! Her lectures are very easy to follow, gives you tips on how to study at the beginning of class. And she cares deeply for her students, if you fail a test she reaches out to talk to you. But if you study an hour a day and do the homework then you should be fine. It's hard material to some.

Dr. Mavica is an amazing professor, to say the least. I also love her lectures. She gives many (hilarious) real-life examples and teaches in a way that makes it easy to remember the material. There is a short quiz before every lecture and it's extra credit (but she will no longer use them because of the actions of some lazy students out there).

Prof. Mavica is one of the most requested professors at FAU. Her classes are always full. She says her courses are built for you to succeed and that is exactly right if you're willing to do your work.

Dr. Mavica never has a boring lecture. She always finds a way to include something funny in each lecture to keep it upbeat. The mind tap homework is super easy and basically gives you 100 points as 25% of your grade. She never works against you, she is always going to give you every piece of encouragement that she can.

Professor Mavica is a wonderful person to take for Bio Bases. Her power points are what you need to study and understand. Attendance isn't mandatory but she does help break concepts down and makes them much easier to understand. She's very positive and sweet and genuinely wants students to pass her class.

Absolutely loved her class. She is hilarious and makes lectures so fun and memorable because she relates to a lot of the information and has a way to remember a lot of the info. she goes over the slides but gives a better understanding of the information if you go to class. you have to do MindTap which is basically the book but MindTap is great

Dr. Mavica is awesome! Super nice and understanding professor that is relatable to her students. I had her for PSB3002 and DEP3053 and both were easy A's if you study. She designs the class so you can bomb an exam and still get a good grade. Just don't talk during her lectures and you're set!

I'm currently taking my third class with her this semester and another one with her in the Spring. She uses Mindtap so you do have to buy the online textbooks but the homework is super easy and helps you remember the material. Lauren Mavica is honestly one of the best Psych professors at FAU, take her for any class you can!

Dr. Mavica is such a nice, personable professor, she makes lectures fun by giving study tips/mnemonics to help you remember the course material. Honestly, as long as you show up and pay attention, you will pass. She answers all questions asked and doesn't talk at students, but rather to students. I would definitely take more of her classes!

I loved this class and I have already signed up for several more classes with her. She was funny and always made lectures interesting though her lecture tangents were never test questions so attendance was optional. The homework is time consuming but really easy and the tests were very straight forward and in the order the material was taught.

Dr Mavica is AMAZING, her class is 4 grades, the 3 exams and the online homework, each 25%, she gives extra credit towards exams from iclicker questions in class, do not slack on exams since they are essentially only grades going in, lectures are info heavy but just go to the class, it is worth the extra credit

Amazing professor. She teaches in a way to relate to students and her powerpoints and videos are a very easy read. She is super nice and funny and you can ask her about anything. If you don't read the lecture slides, you wont pass. She has extra credit clickers and it helps for exams. Honestly would take her again for another class

Bio bases 1 I loved and thought it wasn't that hard so I figured I'd take Bio Bases 2. Man this class was honestly pretty difficult. For sure do-able but each exam is on 200-300 powerpoint slides. Way more info per exam than Bio Bases 1 or Psych of Human Dev, other classes I've taken with her. Still one of the nicest professors at FAU!

By farrrr my favorite Professor at FAU. She is extremely sweet and caring for her students. She actually checks and answers her canvas messages hella quick too . Attendance is not mandatory but for all three classes I've taken she gives extra credit quizzes that basically are the questions on the exam so if you want the best chance at an A show up!

I have taken multiple classes with Dr. Mavica! She is the best and truly inspires me. She is so sweet and knows her stuff. Her lectures are amazing and keep you engaged, I always enjoy going to class. She gives some extra credit for attending class but it is not much but could help if you have a borderline grade. Her happy attitude is contagious!

AMAZING PROFESSOR! such good lectures, you will learn so much. Generally there is no extracredit, but due to COVID she was understanding when we went online. STUDYSTUDYSTUDY. She is very friendly and easy to talk to as well. Kind of neurotic in the best way. There are only 4 grades. 3 exams and homework each worth 25%. I suggest her you wont regret

Graded by 3 exams 50 q mc (but she said they're written response from now on due to online), ec quizzes, and tophat homework on 12 chapters. Can get off topic when talking but it's insightful to know so it doesn't bother me. Very passionate about teaching, strict about cheating so beware. She provides lecture videos and always answers emails.

she is an amazing professor. she wants everyone to pass. this class has 3 exams, not cum. and your mindtap, that's it. she doesn't curve or offer extra credit so study but she gives study guides that outline the important parts of the powerpoints. super easy, super sweet. honestly if you have the opportunity to take more classes with her do it

Doctor Mavica is a beautiful middle of the road, neither strict nor lenient. She requires attendance and some participation, but she talks about information thats not exactly necessary but is interesting and pertinent. She cares for each of her students and is relatable. If you dont like profs that can get off topic, she may not be for you.

Dr. Mavica was great. As long as you stay on top of her lectures and do your Mindtap assignments you are set. This course was really interesting and I enjoyed it a lot. The textbook was very helpful for me on the exams as well as her lectures.

The course has a lot of information. The exams are a majority of your grade so be sure to study ! Her exams are based off her lectures. Powerpoints are posted. I would recommend making a quizlet based off her powerpoints and study. Definitely an Easy A if you study.

Dr Mavica is a wonderful teacher! Yes she involves her personal life in her lectures, but it is only to relate the material to our everyday lives. Her only POSSIBLE fault is that she is too nice to undeserving/whiney students. She is helpful in class and outside of class with whatever you need! She truly cares and I plan on taking her course again!

Do not let these negative comments fool you. Dr Mavica is awesome! Do the simple(sometimes long) homework and take notes and you will be fine. The class is straightforward and quite simple honestly. I am surprised to see these negative comments as she provides the tools to receive an A in her course and she truly cares. Take her class.

This is my 2nd class with Dr. Mavica and I plan to take more with her. She is a good teacher if you go to class (pay attention to the lectures), take notes, and make a study guide for the test you should pass with a B easy. She keeps me engaged during lectures, and is very good about answering questions. The tests are worth a lot though so study.

Dr. Mavica is the best professor Ive had. Genuinely cares and wants you to pass. Ive taken all her classes & always gotten an A. Homework is simple. Tests are based on powerpoints and straightforward. If you pay attention in class, theres no reason to not pass. Anyone giving her a bad review simply did not put in even the most minimum of effort.

This class is very easy if you keep up with the reading and homeworks. Exams are very straightforward and she holds a review before the exams. She's also very accessible outside of class.

Dr. Mavica is a wonderful professor. Her PowerPoints go along with the online textbook and I enjoy how she gives real-life examples during lectures to help us understand the content better. Go to her lectures, take advantage of office hours, and seriously take her advice to read the textbook before each class... you won't regret it.

I attended maybe 4 lectures, which seemed engaging. The material is interesting, but you need to set aside time to study for tests since there are only 3 and are a majority of your grade. Read the textbook, make outline notes, do the end-of-chapter reviews. I cannot stress reading the textbook enough!!!

Dr. Mavica is such a sweetheart. She truly wants you to succeed and learn, but you definitely have to do your part & read, study & do what you're supposed to.

Dr. Mavica is my favorite Professor. Also, one of the best instructors I have ever had. She is no pushover and she makes you work, but she is very engaging. I am psychology major so I took several classes with her which I really enjoyed. Dr. Mavicas classes are the only things that I have been missing ever since I graduated in 2021.

One of the best professors at FAU without a doubt. Dr. Mavica knows how to teach a course. She carries out the entire semester straightforwardly and is very transparent with her expectations. If you put in the effort, you can pass this class with an A. She also does her best to support any student to the best of her ability. Highly Recommended.

Professor Mavica is an excellent professor. She gives anecdotal stories that have allowed me to remember the information and actually understand. The tests are fair and are pretty easy to study for, cengage helps a lot so make sure to complete the assignments.

I love Dr. Mavica. The homework is mindtap, which is not hard at all, & her lectures are straightforward. There is a lot of material, but they are interesting & if you study a little everyday, you will do well on her exams.

Honestly, I like Dr. Mavica. this is the second time I've taken her and yes she gets off topic a bit but she's interesting and really cares about what she's doing, so sad she's leaving soon. exams are multi-choice with a few free response so you def want to come to class to see what she says those may be.

I took Bio Basis 1 during the first half of the summer. The class was straightforward. As long as you go to class and stay on top of the material you will be fine. Some things that helped me were doing the Mastering Training work. Pay close attention to the questions because some were on the exam.

Professor Mavica is a very good professor! I definitely would recommend a friend to take her class, and if I have the opportunity to take her again I will. She talks a lot about random topics during lecture so its not necessary to go in my opinion, but it helps you connect the vocab terms to the conversations had in class.

Dr. Mavica teaches a class that is interesting, but her lectures are boring since it's basically a review of the textbook. I only read the textbook and do mind tap for this class. Her exams are kind of ridiculous based on how she word them. Exam 1 is not hard, but it's very specific. In a way, it's hard. The other exams are pretty easy.

Really amazing professor, I had to take this class a second time simply because the previous professor was hard for me to follow, but Professor Mavica made this class easy to follow, her PowerPoints are really effective to study to pass the exams, the homework also helps bring your grade up if you struggle with the exams.

This class is a handful but she breaks it down so easily, make sure to study if you want good grades on the exams, she gives easy but time consuming homework however its a great cushion to fall back on! (honestly a life saver) + will give extra credit at the end of each exam. Also very funny and entertaining.

Took this class during the summer. Her study guides are the best! What you see is what you get and her questions do not trick you. If you study, you will pass. Weekly mindtap assignments (easy), 2 exams and a LONG paper. I wouldn't recommend skipping lab days because it actually helps when writing your paper.
