Dr. McMills is the best chemistry professor at OU in terms of the amount of knowledge you will acquire from her class (I've since take 6 other chem profs). She gets a lot of bad ratings because most OU students don't like to be challenged at all. Stay awake, do your homework, and you'll get an A.

Dr. McMills explains concepts in great detail and goes through just about every type of problem one could expect to see on an exam during lecture, making attendance worthwhile. She clearly cares for your success, being accessible outside of class and even offering test-taking tips. Offers practice exams that effectively gauge one's understanding

Great instructor, tests written and graded fairly, easily access outside of class. Only complaint is the homework load, seemed like a lot to me at the college level. Sometimes the homework would be helpful but it often seemed like a time sink to me. Overall, great and I would recommend to other students.

Dr. McMills has good lectures and goes over nearly everything you need to know for the course, she is a very kind person who is definitely knowledgeable in this field. reading is straight forward and as long as you do the practice exams/problems will make getting a decent grade easy.

Dr. McMills was very knowledgable in chemistry, and lectures provided all the examples that were needed for exams. She offered lots of office hours and would always answer emails. There was lots of tedious homework on ALEKS and smart book. You have to attend lectures to get points and extra examples. Take advantage of the practice tests!

Dr. McMills is an amazing professor. She has office hours every day in person and on teams and shares practice exams that are a lifesaver for studying for exams. The only homework needed to do is ALEKS and smartbook that are assigned everyweek to reinforce the topics covered by the lecture. One of my favorite professors :)

Dr. McMills goes above and beyond to make sure her students understand the material. Tons of practice problems in class. Practice exams are IDENTICAL to the real exam, so make sure to do them. She's also super willing to meet with you outside of class to go over material.

As a business major that decided to switch to a pre-med track (very crazy, I know), Dr. McMills Class was the best intro to chemistry I could have asked for. Her lectures were very informative, and the exams are very much like the practice worksheets. I recommend this class to anyone who is scared to take chem, just make sure you don't fall behind.

I hate CHEM 1520. When the majority of students get below a C and nothing is done to correct this, I believe that is ridiculous. Additionally, when the majority of students miss a common question, don't expect anything to be resolved. McMills will just be a smart ass and say you're wrong and dumb. The class is based of 4 exams and no room 4 error.

Dr. McMills is very nice and cares about her students' success. Chem 1520 is a very tough course, but she is very accessible outside of class and is very kind. If you're struggling with any concepts, go to her office hours! She is very helpful and will walk you through practice problems, similar to what you will see on her exams.

Although the lectures could be quite boring, she provides lots of resources for you to do well in the class. The practice exams given were very helpful as studying tools. They are also very lenient when grading exams, as they are generous with partial credit. Of the two 1520 professors, she would definitely be my choice.

I absolutely loved being in McMills' class. She may come off as scary, but she is actually a really sweet and caring woman. The lectures may be a bit boring, but as long as you pay attention, her explanations are super clear. Ensure you do plenty of practice problems, as Chem1520 is pretty math heavy. As long you show up to class, you will do fine.

This class was very difficult and I think McMills knew that. She was very kind to students and wanted what was best for them and helped in any way possible. She lowered the grades this semester so a 66% was a C-. I think she understood that this was a hard class and tried to help students as best as she could.
