By far one of the best teachers at HCC. Very helpful and nice. Will give you everything you need to pass the class. You have to do your part. She has a passion for math.

Mac is the best math teacher I have ever had the pleasure of having. She's brilliant, funny, and down to earth. I wish she could be my math teacher through until the end!!

Excellent teacher.

Mrs.Mac is one of a kind. She makes you understand math. you are not just another student in her class. if you don't understand something tell her and she'll go over it again. She breaks down the problem. If you attend class, you will do fine.

Highly suggest this professor, she is very detailed in explaining every step in the problem. Always helpful with questions.

I can not say enough about this professor! She is sooo easy going, but makes you learn at the same time. I have always been horrible at math, but I ended up with a "B" in the class!! She has an awesome way of teaching! She's very down to earth and funny. I learned so much because she made it easy:)Don't take anyone else!!!

What can I say, she was an awsome math teacher. I was convinced that I just would NEVER be able to learn algebra...but she made it easy and fun. She also helped ease my fear of math...and what a sweet wonderful person!!!!

i'm in her class and I love her! she goes over every subject thorougly. i can tell she loves what she does. she won't move on unless everyone understands. overall, I think she's a great math teacher.

There are not enough kind words to say about this professor. She is very professional. There is a LOT of homework and attendance is important. I am taking her for 0024. She will stop to explain anything you don't understand and she makes sure you understand before moving on.

Mrs. McNamara is a great teacher!! She made math fun and easy. I had planned on taking her for 0024 as well as 1033. I am sad that she will not be at HCC anymore. HCC made a huge mistake by letting her go.

Great teacher, she won't move on unless everyone understands. if ur the type of student that likes to miss class every now and then u will not be successful in this or any college class. whatever i didn't understand in class i taught myself on coursecompass. online and book homework must be done according to her EXACT directions for full credit.

Great teacher! A must for someone not into math. I've had her 3 semesters now and would take her again. She makes math understandable and sometimes fun.

Just finished my 2nd semester with her. She's cute (cue the Van Halen), which sometimes was distracting. No wonder she's always pregnant! Got an A in 0012 & 0024. Do the work and you can too. She's a wonderful teacher who genuinely cares about your success. She will go out of her way to help you understand. Just don't expect to get out early.

MRS. McNamara used the book, online, and her own examples to teach. She would teach things in two different ways sometimes. She was very thorough, punctual and very easy to understand. Math is my hardes subject and I recieved an A in her class.

Prof McNamara is such a nice person and is very thorough with her teaching. 1033 was a struggle for me. The tests are hard...STUDY! There is TONS of homework and 4-5 online quizzes. Took me hours and hours to keep up with the workload, but math is not easy for me either. Very helpful

Math is difficult for me as it is, but it is nice to have a teacher that has a few tweaks in her teaching style, which definitely helped with some issues I was having. It kind of sucks having all HW online, but it's cool to see if the answer is right or not RIGHT THEN. Except she NEVER responds to your EMAILS!

she is a very nice teacher. tought very well and is humble and understanding. she gives an outline for notes and a review before each test and answers any questions you need help with. she gives test corrections for extra credit!! i would highly recommend her... good teacher : )

There are not enough wonderful things that could be said about Professor McNamara. This is my fourth class I have taken with her and she is by far the best professor that I have ever taken a class with. Come to class, do your homework, and pay attention when she reviews for her tests and you will do great.

Professor McNamara is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her teaching methods are great, and I cannot express how well she prepares you for the tests. Go to class and study and you will do well. Also, I found her lecture's very entertaining and this is math!

Well taught. Allows for test corrections for extra credit. Very understanding and helpful. Not a fan of math class in general but I enjoyed her class and passed with an A+. Homework every night but not due till test day and not too hard. Easy to get 100% on homework and attendance.

Come on, you can get extra credit for correcting the questions you got wrong on an exam. Attedance is worth 5% of total grade. Homework 15%, 4 exams 60%, Final 20%. EASY, EASY A.......

She gave us material and the notes. I do not need the book. And but you need to do home work on mathXl. She is very helpful. I am very happy that I took her class.

I am writing this a year later after yet another math class. She is the best math teacher I've ever had. Very down to earth but also brilliant. She explains things so well.

Extra credit on tests seems to be a good deal. She enjoys teaching and is easy going.

TAKE HER! Im horrible at math and got a b or higher on all my tests. She allows test corrections on every test which really helps your grade. GREAT TEACHER! Shes so down to earth, and she post grades really fast. Loved going to class because she breaks down everything so much you understand math. Will be taking her again :)

College algebra is not easy, however, Ms. McNamara makes it all make sense. She doesn't make it "easy", SHE MAKES IT MAKE SENSE! SHE TRULY teaches you the material AND she will allow you to do test corrections for extra points. That is a teacher that cares! If you're intimidated by college algebra, Ms. McNamara is the teacher for you!!

she is an okey teacher but she is very nice and down to earth and always ask if you have questions or need help. sometimes she goes fast and get u lost but that's why you have a lot homework to get back on track for what you miss.. but gives test corrections which helps alot for your grade and she post grade very quick. Great teacher! Gives material and notes. Need the book in class. You do LOTS of homework on mathXl (help memorize). She gives 4 tests (corrections allowed on first 3 {1% pt per correction}) one cumulative final. Attendance is part of grade (and important for success). She will care if you care.

TAKE HER! This is my third math class with her and she is so helpful! My mathxl was not working and I emailed her, she helped me fix the problem and the next class asked me if it was working! She will go over something until you understand. I LOVE HER! test corrections are a must, and take notes. you will get an A (:

I took Mrs McNamara 2semester ago for 1028 and I got A and last semester I took Osborne for college algebra well guess what?? I got D I tried my best to pass the class but that's what I get from going to McNamara(BEST) TO Osborne(worse)my point is if you already taking McNamara stay with here I don't want you making same mistake like I did.

I really enjoyed this class after not taking a math class in many years. She was very clear and helpful when you had questions. You definitely need to do the homework and she gives you a review before the tests.

Mrs. McNamara class is not difficult, but if you get behind it's not easy playing catch up. She is very helpful, and is very pretty as well! Overall, her classes are light and she is a good teacher. I would recommend her:)

Mrs. McNamara is an amazing teacher!! She gives you real life examples to help understand the material better, only requirements are online homework which is 15 questions per section and attendance for a grade. Always offers extra help if needed. Shes a mother and has tons of patience, especially for her night class with older adults!

I absolutely LOVE Ms. McNamara! She is very friendly and very helpful. If she does get frustrated that's because students aren't fulfilling their duties as students.When I took another professor for math, she helped me. MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR! McNamara is a great teacher! she is very helpful and allows test corrections, homework is for a grade and 4 tests and the final replaces your worst grade. she is willing to help you and gives lots if examples. I'm not good at math but i got an A so its possible.

My second time taking college algebra (got an F last time) and ms.mcnamara is very helpful and is willing to help. Gives you a chance to raise test scores with test corrections. Math isn't hard if you have a professor willing to help and ms.mcnamara is the type to help in class and outside. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I took her stats class. I have no trouble with math and she still helped me understand it more. He is slower than I am and he not only kept up, but understood the material and achieved an A. Her class policies are easy. If you can't pass her class, it's a you issue, because she is amazing!

If professor Mcnamara can't teach you math, no one can. She is a fantastic teacher who will help you if you will help yourself. She teaches in a very clear and concise manner. I enjoyed her class and will be taking any class of hers that I can!

4 exams + final, along with hw (15%) and attendance (5%). stats is really boring, but she keeps it interesting by getting flustered sometimes. you'll see. it's funny. she's cute. anyway, hw questions help immensely because it's pretty much identical to the actual test, plus you get a test outline. so, tests are pretty easy if you study. take her!

I would recommend her to anyone who has a hard time with math. I am the math student who needs things broken .down step by step. She was perfect for me! She has a dry sense of humor that I loved. If you show up and pay attention you can really do well. I have signed up to take MGF 1106 with her this summer and I am really looking forward to it!

She inspired me and made me feel achieved after tests. In her class I got 100% on 34 tests: the first time I ever get A on a math test! Her class is proof that if you work hard, you can truly understand math! I had personal issues come up and she worked with me, great communication. I used to hate math, now I feel confident. LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!:)

I've taken 3 of her classes, & If I have to take another math class I would take hers again. I love how she teaches, very clearly, and she help us a lot, you won't fail her class as long as you do what's assigned, also you have the possibility to do test corrections, those really make a difference on your overall grade!! MyMathLab is required, but she gives test corrections which r essential! She drops the lowest test (there r 4) and the final counts twice bcuz it includes the last test. Super nice, and even tho im not a math whiz, I failed 2 tests and still managed to get a B! YOU CAN DO IT! :)

I highly recommend Mrs. McNamara to everybody. Her lectures are very clear and she explains it step by step. Although English is my second language, I could easily understand everything. Her class was interesting and time went very quickly. She is helpful, polite, and patient to everybody. If you do your homework there is no way you fail the test.

The class is not easy, but if you do the h-w and study, you can get an A. I think Prof McNamara is an excellent, she communicates well, and the material is presented in a clear, step by step manner. You are expected to understand concepts and analyze data; the tools are given to you to be successful. I did not by the text. Good Luck!

This woman rocks! Math is NOT my favorite subject... but thanks to her I was able to come out with a B. She actually cares about her students. 4 tests, 15% of grade each. Final is worth 15% and she replaces your lowest test grade with it which saved me. Attendance is 5%, Homework via MyMathLab is 15%. Does test correctrions!!

Math is not my strong suit but she helped me get through it with a B. She is great helpful and clear. I also took her for STATS and she she even more awesome teaching it.

What I loved most about this class is that she lets you redeem yourself by offering test corrections for 3 of the exams, so if you didn't do so well, you still have a chance to earn extra points. She's a great teacher, pay attention and do your homework and you'll do fine. I'm not crazy about math and I got a B.

Took her college algebra hybrid course (and I'm awful at math, haven't taken it in 2 years) and even as a hybrid it was clear and easy to understand. Very sweet professor, cares about her students, and even the video lectures she picked out for the course were very easy to understand. Highly recommend!

Great Professor! Easy to follow and passionate about her subject. You have to make time to actually practice the material outside of class otherwise you probably shouldn't be there anyway. Missed 2 weeks of class due to Army Reserve and still earned a good grade. I dislike math but she's a gem teaching it.

Everything that's on the study guide is on the test. She offers test corrections for 3 out of 4 tests. And if you do 10 volunteer hours in the American cancer society and write a 3 paragraph paper she gives you up to 10 points on your over all hw grade. Best math professor I have taken at HCC.

Great teacher, does exactly what is planned on the syllabus day 1. Uses mathlab for homework, helps quite a bit with homework. She hates seeing phones out or leaving class during lectures, she will flip out if it happens. Overall highly recommended.

Wonderful professor, really knows how to explain things in a way that makes since. Punctual and a great lecturer.

I took the hybrid option and it was just the right amount of lecture to supplement the homework. Make sure you do the homework before class in order to understand the content in the quizzes. There's no reason to not get 100% on the StatLab homework -- 20% of your grade. Easy to pass if you do the work.

There are quizzes every class, they are 5 questions and usually pertain to ALEKS, she really is a great professor. She goes step by step with you, which is what I need. She also helps so much. She can sense confusion a mile away. You ever so slightly look confused she will find another problem and practice more. She is great.

She devotes much time reviewing papers to offer grade improvement opportunities w/up to 30 correction points. She permits dropping the lowest quiz score & the lowest test score (in exchange for the final counting twice). She uses canvas, & on-line homework to monitor exactly how student efforts are rewarded. She's focused, dedicated and competent.

She teaches very well, if you love step by step instructions then go for her, she has no problem stopping and explaing something. You have hw on mymathlab, and you get unlimited chances so hw was super easy 100, her tests were a bit hard but if you sorta know what your're doing youre okay. Its not an easy class but it was better with her!

Prof McNamara is a lovely and caring person. She gives extra credit opportunities and provides a notes packet (no need for a textbook). Her teaching method might not be for all, but if you do the homework ahead of each class and study the material, you won't have any problem. There are daily quizzes, 3 tests (1 online), and a final that is optional

Ms. McNamara is a great professor. She is very straight forward and she gives lots of practice exercises so you can understand her assignments. The quizzes everyday are pretty annoying but as long as you know what is being discussed its easy. She is accessible out of class and she responds to emails really fast. Take her she is the best.

Each topic has a lecture video and pages in the notes packet to go along with it. MyMathLab assignments can get tedious at times, especially with the formatting of the answer. However, the professor gives unlimited attempts on homework problems, which are very similar to test questions (also on MML). The online textbook wasn't directly used at all.

We had a proctored quiz each week with only 5 questions. I was in fear of risking my grade every time just ONE question stumped me. She is a generous grader where applicable and her lectures are VERY thorough. This is not an easy class as it is but this professor does her best. Download and follow the guided study notes- they will work wonders.

Good prof. Good lectures that explain well about the lessons, concepts, and topics of math. Not too much work. The only work is homework from ALEKS which is just reinforcing and learning the materials being taught in class. Grades are based on completing ALEKS homework and 4 unit tests.

I will agree that this class had more of a self-taught teaching style than anything else. Her video lectures were clear and helpful but sometimes they did not match up with the homework. That being said, she was really kind in helping me when I needed it. I would recommend this class to people that are already okay or good with math.

She is so sweet and so understanding. She teaches the material really well and acknowledges your questions. I definitely recommend taking this course with her. She is very organized and lays everything out for you to understand.

If it were not for her comprehensive curriculum I would have never understood the material. She gave very good lectures and even went over each quiz and showed step by step on how to do the problems. She is a great professor and I honestly wish I would have had her for all my math classes in the past. You just have to put in the work.

This professor makes sure information and guidelines for her class are clear. She uploads videos explaining every single quiz and exam. She also gives example problems to help with homework. There are homework assignments and quizzes due weekly. She answers individual questions and tries to help whenever you have issues in class. Great professor!

She helped and guided me in every difficult step, this is a completely new course for me, particularly as an international student, and she explained it to us in a very clear manner. This is one of my memorable classes in this semester.

Like Trust me. This Professor was recommended by my college algebra professor and it was worth listening to my other Professor. She explains every details and she has notes packet for every unit which really help understand unit by unit. Her tests are pretty easy and if we understand what's going on her review units, you can easily pass with an A.

Although the class was hard, she did a great job explaining things to make sure it was understood. For a math teacher, she is exactly what you need tbh.

If you are good at math you will pass the class. The only criticism I have is that the online learning website used for HW (Pearson I think) sucks. The teacher is caring and understandable (She excused me from the final exam since i did really well on the other exams).

She truly wants her students to succeed. Her recorded videos clearly explain each unit, and she provides extra videos during the hw to reinforce the material. She's very accessible during office hrs and even taught me how to properly use my calculator. I struggle with math and still earned an A. What you put in is what you get out;practice matters.
