Media classes are usually simple & fun, but Professor Movius' great personality & teaching style engages you into the material & therefore makes you understand, rather than being forced to remember. Hws are once a week: you read 1 short chapter and answer and submit does questions online. Very easy class, you will learn so much take her!!!!

She is really nice she doesn't grade very hard. But you still have to do the homework assignments which are very easy to do. Exams and test are very easy because she goes over the ones that you mess so you can get a better grade on the next quiz. I really enjoy her class to say i'm only taking this for an G.E. I loved Professor Movius' material and her input. The quizzes were based off of each chapter and test were past quizzes, which was a lot of common sense and easy terms. Just read the chapters and you're bound to get full credit on the discussions and exams. She seems like she just likes you to make an effort and to be interested, which is great.

Super nice, but can be strict if you don't do what you're supposed to. She adds a lot of papers to read and got upset when no one read them, so be the one person that does. Expect a group media project. Know terms used in class as they will matter throughout semester. Watched some interesting documentaries.

Professor Movius is amazing! Her classes are very informative, and open minded! The information she teaches is a must know for your everyday life, it helps you understand Media! She is very flexible and really wants her student's success. You can't go wrong with her. You literally will only fail the class of you are super lazy.

Extremely nice teacher. The only homework you will have is reading the chapters. Sometimes you will have an assignment that's due at the end of the week or something similar to that. The class is easy, if you fail then obviously you are not even trying. The class isn't that exciting, but if you have any problems you can always ask her a question.

Prof. Movius is the best professor I've had so far in my college experience. She is extremely forthcoming in what she expects of her students and is super down to earth. She does give assignments but they're easy. She also will work with you if your having difficulties or need to turn something in late. If you need Media 3, take her class.

Her class was very straightforward, quizzes were easy (study for 20-30 min. the night before and you'll be fine), midterm/final exams even easier (most repeated questions from quizzes), and full credit was given for homework if done right. Absolutely recommend anyone taking her class!

Movius is a wonderful professor! This is my first online class and as it comes to an end, I enjoyed many of the topics we discussed. It was work load heavy with very specific deadlines almost 4 times a week however it is doable and not tedious work. She takes the time to provide useful outlines and the weekly quiz's help you on the two exams.

Took the hybrid class during Spring and it was great! She is so nice, kind, and very clear about the way she grades. The whole semester is planned already and put on canvas! I learned a lot in her class about media effects, she keeps it interesting! Overall, I really enjoyed her class.

Every week you have to do a discussion (I always got full credit), a quiz (5 questions only). If you read the chapter assigned each week you'll do well on these quizzes. Occasional essay assignments, but are informal and I always got 25/25. 15 units, one unit a week. 4 extra credit opportunities. Only tests were midterm & final (not accumulative)

She's a really nice person in general and is willing to work with you. Her lectures are very straightforward, but the quizzes can be tricky at times. But otherwise, her exams are fairly easy and it's not difficult to get an A at all. The group projects were the hardest part but you learn a lot from the presentations. Professor Movies is very organized, friendly, and caring. She is not a tough grader and she values class participation. Class is lecture heavy but the material is easy to understand. Five writing assignments, six quizzes, one mid-term, one group project and a final. Easy A if you pay attention and do the work.

Yes, her lectures have a lot of details, but she makes up for it with easy grading on writing assignments and group projects. Really enjoyed taking Media 3 with Dr. Movius. She is really willing to help you succeed in the class and understand the material. The class is consisted of 4 Quizzes, one midterm, two group projects, one group research paper, and a final. Very good at integrating canvas with the class. Highly recommend.

However, this means that she takes it very far, although this is a normal 3 unit class she assigns around seven 3-5 page reflections which is a bit much for a media class, however she is a very generous grader so if you do the work you will get the A. Group project at the end of the semester.

What a gem Professor Movius is! Goes through so many topics in media and discusses them with great detail. There were a few assignments that were long, but easy to do, and she grades very easy. 6 quizzes, as well as a midterm and final. All are very easy if you take good notes and study the slides. Group project was fun as well! Amazing class!

There are short writing assignments for homework once a week for the first few weeks, easy quizzes, and a group project that consists of a paper and powerpoint. Obviously, there's a midterm and final, but for one exam, she provides a study guide and for the other, she allows you to bring a page of notes.

She is one of the most compassionate people I've ever met. She really helped us during the pandemic and gave us the confidence to complete her course successfully.

Professor Movies is the best!!! I highly recommend her. Each week you have a discussion and a 5-7 question quiz, every few weeks you have a 2 page paper that is really easy. Professor Movius was professional, organized and communicated everything she expected in her class clearly. She was my Professor during the onset of the covid shutdowns in spring and she transferred the entire class from in classroom to online like a true leader. She is an amazing professor, and I would highly recommend taking her course! As long as you complete the assignments, you get credit (even if it's late a couple times). I was able to communicate with her easily, and she would accommodate to my difficult circumstances. You do have to write a couple of 2-5 page essays, so be prepared for that.

never in my life have I had a class that assigned so much work. You practically have 2 essays per week. One due every sunday 2-4 pages and another discussion post 350 words per question (theres at least 3 questions) so min two single spaced pages. then there are the quizes and exams. For a media class the workload is insane.... professor is nice

Paper almost every week. Discussion every week. quiz every week (on quizlet tho) a midterm and final. This class consisted of busy work mainly. Movius is just really nice and understanding. I missed a paper and I explained why (wasn't a crazy reason) and she was so cool abt it. Easy A just do the work and it's not too hard at all. She is sweet.

Professor Movius was so nice in this class and with the grading. Every week there are 1-2 discussions and 1 quiz. The quizzes are extremely easy just make sure you actually read her lessons and the textbook. The discussions all have to be about 350 words long and you need to reply to two peer discussions.

I took Dr Movius for both Media 1 & 3, and the class is really the same (M3 the papers are longer). While it is easy to get an A, the amount of work is significant. At a minimum every week you will have to write a 2 or 3 page paper, a 350 word discussion post, two responses of at least five or six sentences, and a 5q quiz. Also a midterm and final.

Professor Movius is by far the best professor at SMC , she is so nice and understanding and will let you submit late assignments. There are alot of papers to do every week and 300 word discussion with a two peer reply and a quiz each week but she is very understanding, if you do your work you will get an easy A. I recommend taking this class.

In this asynchronous class we learned from the textbook (accessible for free online), additional readings, and documentaries. The quizzes and exams are very easy; questions are recycled from past quizzes. Get the general ideas from the readings and lecture notes and you'll get an A.

This course is very straight forward and interesting, Prof Movius is very kind and patient and organized, great vibe, super friendly, gives extra credit, a pleasure to talk to and study with. I needed weekly meetings and she was very kind and helpful. You just have to read a huge amount and make sure to do all the discussion participation.

Media 1 with professor Movius was great. Straight forward curriculum from a professor that knows the material and cares about her students. I highly recommend her.

Weekly discussion posts, quizzes, and some additional writing assignments according to the learning material. As long as you turn everything on time you'd get an A. Only thing is she locks the assignment until two or three days before they're due so sometimes it's difficult to manage with other courses if you're a full time student.

This professor is awesome. Her grading criteria is clear cut and easy to understand. She does give a lot of work and videos to watch but it can be done. The extra credit which is 20 points max per term does help if you miss an assignment. However, I passed the class with over 100% as I kept up with my work.
