Very easy class if you understand Math to begin with. I took it and got very high scores... but that is because I like Math. I guess if you need a lot of explanations, maybe you wouldn't want to take her.

She's a great teacher! Everyone fails her tests because they aren't easy and they don't try. She reviews for all the tests and even puts problems on the test that were in the review, yet people get them wrong. If you really want to learn math, take her, but if you want a blow off, take someone else.

This was a great teacher. She gave alot of help if yoy only asked. I thought she explained things very well.

She's is extremely knowledgable and is very helpful when asked for help. Her tests are somehwat easy because she puts a lot of review questions on them, but the puts questions that make you think. If you like math, take her!

She is very nice, the problem is the test are extremely difficult. There are quizzes usually weekly not too easy either. I don't recommend her unless you want a challenge.

Ok I think that she was very nice and helpful. We never had quizzes and never had homework once. I did very good in her class and she is good at explaining. I would recomend her.

I really dont know what everyone is talking about..she is a good teacher, and shell go over anything you need to know even before a quiz..you also get notecard cheatsheets to use. i barely studied for this class ever and im getting an a.. you are probably just really bad in math.

Professor Kirby was a fantastic teacher, my favorite of the semester. Yeah, sometimes she took a long time explaining things that weren't necessary, but she really just wants to make sure everyone understands. She's very nice, very helpful, and very forgiving. I forgot my project once and she just said, "Oh well, bring it next week."

Kirby is great! Very helpful, nice, and clear. She gives out reviews and spend plenty of time on them so you can understand it for the test. She allows you to use a note card for the test. Take Kirby, best math teacher at Moraine Valley's Math Dept.

It isn't easy to find a great math teacher for 122 but she does let you use notecards for tests. No quizzes. EXTRA CREDIT is offered all the time! Study guides are exactly what is on the tests!! I did not do one problem for homework cuz she NEVER CHECKS IT. She really doesn't go over anything unless YOU say something. ATTENDANCE important

Mrs. Kirby is a very nice teacher, sure the material is a little difficult but its not worth it if its not somewhat challenging. She provides extra credit, note cards on tests and group projects. And she's always there if you need extra help, I felt she was a good math teacher.

Ms. Kirby was one of the best professor here at Moraine. She let us use a note card on every test and for the quizes we were able to work with a partner. She always offered extra credit and she always answered quesions. When we filed a test she let us retake it. Take her you won't regret!

Great teacher, she is helpful good extra credit opportunity, and group quiz! but tests are really hard, she chooses the hardest problems to give on the test so make sure you do all the homework or you'll struggle. otherwise she has a good sense of humor and good teacher style.

She's o.k. she could go really fast sometimes in class, so you should always pay attention. she gives group quizzes every other week. the last exam we took, she made it a group exam which helped the whole class. she's a nice prof. o and she lets you use a note card for every test.

Hard Teacher if you dont pay attention. Group quizes are great but make sure you make a note card for test. Come to class and bring you calculator. She moves quick and quizes are hard along with the test which are your only grades. So if you have her bring your A game cause if you dont you will regret it.

Class is difficult and stressful. She is always in a good mood and very energetic. Do all the homework even though it's not mandatory. IT serves as really good practice. she has a wierd way of explaining/ answering questions.

KIRBY IS THE BEST AND HER HAIR IS AWESOME... AND SHE IS HELPFUL YOU CAN MEET IN HER OFFICE SO SHE CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND IT BETTER.

DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE BAD AT MATH! with this math class it requires you to have a lot of time. she doesnt not give credit for homework, her exams are really hard, group quizzes, not many extra credit opportunities, she smiles like the joker, and would not recommend her.

I would definately recommend her courses. Many complain that she does not teach, yet I found her instruction to be helpful. The study guides really help you prepare for the tests. I am awful at math and yet I walked out of her class with a good grade not because she is easy, but because she taught the material.

Mrs. Kirby is a GREAT professor, but it's the material in class that's extremely challenging. Had her for both Math for Teachers classes, and she was very helpful-but you have to, have to ask questions if you fall behind. A lot of people don't like the way she teaches, and it is confusing at times so do the homework, ask questions.

The class is very interesting, but also difficult. If you aren't open minded to new ways of thinking you will struggle in this class. Great class if you want to become a teacher. People quit your complaining. Show up to class. Pay attention. Get a good group for group quizzes. Do the homework. ASK FOR HELP IF YOU NEED IT. she has NO problem helping. Everyday she'll go over as many homework q's you want. tests are tricky, she makes sure you KNOW what you're doing. It's not an easy A, but this class is doable. She's nice too!

I can see how people can say this is a hard class. If you arn't willing to work hard in this class or if math doesn't come naturally I probably woudnt recomend her. However if you go to class, ask questions, and try hard, you can get a good grade. Work with smart people in your grops and ask them questions. Also shes very nice and approachable.

I took Professor Kirby online and just want to say that if you do not have the time to apply yourself and work hard, this class is not for you. Professor Kirby was amazingly quick on responding to emails and questions. If you really work hard and study you should have no problem. Also, the study guides are pretty much what is on the test!

I found this class extremely challenging. received a C trying my best lol. I loved mrs. kirby because she is very smart, organized, consistent, and helpful. She gives a lot of opportunity for extra credit and group quizzes. one of my fav profs and i recommend her as a student to anyone who finds it vital for a class to be structured and organized

She was a great teacher. Really explained every thing well. Always asked students if they understood what was being explained. If someone did not understand she would take the time to explain. She is a very good grader and grades extremely quick! I suggest taking her if you want a good grade!

This is a challenging class, you must think outside the box, but Ms. Kirby is a great teacher. She is helpful & wants you to understand the material. Don't get discouraged at the start of the course because it IS tough, but it gets better. Ms. Kirby also has office hours to help you 1on1 if you need it. A few projects, but nothing ridiculous.

This is not an easy class. You're going to have to work really hard to get a good grade. If you're having trouble with this class then ask her for help. She is always happy to help. I was scare I wasn't going to pass but she was able to help me.

She's a little annoying at times and it's obvious she's trying too hard to be liked. She offers extra credit opportunities and there's only two projects and four exams (not including the final). She's a very good teacher and does her best to appeal to all learning styles. I would recommend her!

Ms. Kirby is a great teacher. There is optional homework assigned every class and it's gone over at the beginning of the next class. It's very beneficial to do it because if you have questions, Ms. Kirby will walk you through it until you understand. Test reviews are very helpful. Pop quizzes are done in groups

Material was rough but I went to TC for the great help studied a couple of hours and this is my hardest subject. Make sure you show up for class or you'll fall behind pretty quick. She doesn't do many practice problems in class so make sure you do the homework because she goes over any questions the class had. Don't be afraid to ask questions she doesn't mind helping. She's a good teacher you just have to pay attention and keep up or you won't do well.

Great person, alright teacher. If you asked questions and did you homework (isn't mandatory) the concepts weren't too bad. She offers a lot of extra credit and does all of the quizzes as group quizzes. The last exam is a group exam too. You need to put in the effort or you will struggle.

Professor Kirby always makes classes interesting and she's always there to give explanations when you don't understand. If you do the homework problems she assigns and then ask questions relating to the ones you don't get, you'll be absolutely fine. Very reasonable professor who makes her expectations clear from the first day.

Doing the lessons is your homework, also same as studying bc it sticks to your mind easily. if you procrastinate a lot, you can finish all lessons two days before the test, that is doing all nighters and sleeping for 4 hours each night to rest. only like 5 or 6 tests but worth a lot of points. Prof will answer and explain your questions nicely.

Proffesor Kirby really does want each of her students to succeed. On every single homework assigment besides projects, she gives great feeback and she looks at your work if you turn things in early and helps you get a 5/5. You have to put in the work to understand and effort to pass her class. She responds fast and everything is on canvas.

Kirby was awesome for MTH122. Responded quickly, made sure everything was posted to Canvas, and has extra credit plus review guides. You get to use notes on tests. She gives you corrections on homework before turning it in for a final grade. She isn't bad like some of the reviews say. Put in the work and effort and you will pass. I have no regrets!

Prof Kirby was awesome. In order to succeed in this class, you have to put in an absolute ton of work. She is much kinder than what the other reviews make her out to be. It's easier to leave a review if you're a disgruntled student rather than a student who passed. She allows a note card on all tests and gives you a plethora of resources to use.

TBH, a lot of these reviews are unfair towards Professor Kirby. In my experiene, she's been a fast grader, responds to emails quickly, and she has given us a lot of extra credit opportunities. However, some questions on her exams were something we never covered / learned how to solve.

While your grade is only based on quizzes and tests, you are allowed a note sheet for all tests and the quizzes are taken as a class. She makes sure that everyone is clear on understanding before she moves on and explains everything in depth. Offers extra credit in every unit. If you pay attention and take notes, you will score high.

Prof. Kirby was good, tough grader, but she gave students many opportunities to boost their grade. Extra credit brought my grade up a few percent. The other reviews say she's rude, but she honestly just jokes around.

be ready to do a lot of homework, at least like an hour a day. she is very nice though and a good teacher overall. very peppy and optimistic and be ready for her to talk to everyone

You are only graded on quizzes and tests. On quizzes you can work together and test allow one handwritten note sheet. There is homework but it isn't for a grade, if you pay attention to the lecture you don't even need the homework sometimes.

Prof. Kirby runs a tough class, but provides plenty of opportunities to boost your grade. The quizzes are collaborative and the exams allow cheat sheets. Engage with the material and use resources like unstuck study to stay on top of the workload.

Although the other reviews are correct that this professor can be very picky when grading assignments, they respond quickly and give feedback on assignments. They also allow you to turn in assignments after fixing them. I would honestly recommend this course if you struggle with math because for the most part they will allow you to fix mistakes.

Course setup: ALEKS online. 4 units, units are split into parts. Parts are due every 2 weeks or so. 1 exam per unit. Cumulative final at the end. There's a review for every test/final. The review is extremely accurate to the exams. Prof. Kirby is polite and readily accessible. It is precisely what you expect a college online class math to be.
