Very little input from class, it's notes, notes, notes. But she is good. Just write fast, that's all. Sharp dresser. Haven't faced one of her tests yet, but hoping for the best. Definitely hot. Best-dressed instructor I have ever seen.

Extremley nice teacher. Always willing to help out and is very flexible when comes to office hours. Mid terms are quit difficult so be prepared. Attend every class because she makes things a lot more clearer and helpful with her notes then to follow it through the textbook. I would reccommend her to a dedicated hard working student.

For cost acct some people will just never understand, and for some it will become second nature. If you called Laurette a poor teacher, it's either because a) you didn't study, b) it's just not a class meant for you. The tests ARE like the homework. It's the same level of thinking, just worded differently. She's the best teacher I've ever had.

Cost accounting is not really an easy subject, but Laurette does an excellent job teaching the course with minimal textbook use via her class notes and methodology. Her exams are long, and have a couple curveball questions beyond homework difficulty, but overall, a "B" is easily achievable.

Her first exam is extremely hard. The average was 50%, and half of the students were disapperaed after the first exam, but second exam is easier than first. HOWEVER, she is really great prof. I know her exams are very tough, but that makes you study. And she is always willing to help you at anytime. Take her if you really want to succed in ACCT.

Lorette really makes you think in this class. Keep up with the work and fully understand it. It's not an easy class, when the average sits at 54%. There's a lot of material that you won't find in her notes or in the textbook, so pay attention and don't miss a class! She goes really fast. The final is like the hard question in assignments.

I love Laurette! She is tough but fair! She expects a lot from you but if you do your homework you will do well. She is an EXCELLENT teacher and gives you plenty of examples, both from the text and outside of the text. I wish I could have taken her for 1210 but she wasn't teaching it. I recommend her to anyone who is serious about learning.

I think I understand how it could get frustrating in the 3000 level but from the stand point of a first year she is decently clear. All that is required is a bit of listening and she tells you exactly what you should study. I can also see where the attitude problem could arise. just go to class listen and avoid talking to her unless you need help

Just had her for acct 1110. Notes were useful but you cannot miss a class or you'll fall behind. Midterms practically require you to speed write to finish on time. Final exam on the other hand is easy due to the 3 hour time limit. Do the homework, but also prepare to spend a bit of time on both wiley and the book to prepare for midterms.

Best teacher at Kwantlen, hands down. She makes the complex simple and easy to understand. She teaches you how to think and solve problems. Her weekly homework assignments were very challenging, but they thoroughly prepared you for exams. If you work hard you will do well. BUT, you have to be ready to work.

Had her during Spring 2013. She is very helpful and her exams are not very difficult although she requires homework to be completed on accounting green coloured paper which you get from Staples.. Would recommend to beginner accounting courses

amazing prof! this was my first accounting class and she was very clear with her lectures. hands out notes at the beginning of class and goes over them thoroughly and provides several examples. weekly homework can be a bit much but her tests are based on homework questions so its worth it to do them! Korman is the best teacher I have ever met. I learn so much from her. Not just the accounting knowledge, but also the characteristics a CPA should have. Precise, organized, logical. She prepare for the class very well, predo the homeworks and exercises question before class and clearly explain them. she is really amazing!!!

Notes with in class examples proved to be very helpful for studying for tests. Loved the class, she is very clear and provides good understanding.

She's clear with what she expects from you on assignment and tests. Go over her in-class examples and homework questions before exams, and you'll get a good mark. It's true though that she can be rude to some students.

Professor Korman is an excellent accounting instructor. She explains concepts thoroughly and in-depth, which is why attendance is a must. Her tests are no cakewalk, but if you study hard you should get no less than a B. I strongly recommend this professor if you want to actually learn accounting.

Laurette is a very organized professor - she has notes for every chapter that she prints and hands out in class, she balances time spent lecuring and time spent on in-class exercises perfectly and if you do all the homework she assigns, you will pass her tests. Don't skip class though. I would definitely take her again.

2 midterms worth 20% each and final worth 50%, HW is 10%. Shes a great teacher her notes are so helpful, her tests are mainly based on the problems assigned for hw and the review questions given, so if you do those youll ace her tests. Shes really nice and understanding but never be late or else you dont get the notes

Its accounting, it isnt easy. Shes very thorough in what she teaches. Her exams and final were very similar to her in class exercises and hwk she assigns. Hwk that she assigned was only around 2-4 questions per chapter. She give an extra 4% if you do all hwk assignments throughout the semester. Recommend if you are trying to UNDERSTAND MGMT acct!!

Her homeworks are a combination of wiley and hand in which makes it so much easier to learn and get done than spending hours on Wiley. Recommend her 1000% failed twice and she's the only reason I passed the third time !

Notes are a little hard to follow but, practice the questions and read the textbook. Fair grader and like many profs, expects you to put in the effort to receive a good grade. Usually generous if she sees you're taking the time to learn. She's terrific for offering outside help after class which I took advantage of and you all should too!

Laurette is a very smart and professional professor. She is very helpful and accessible. Lectures are very fast and you are not able to clearly understand. Lots of time is required to succeed in this course, as other accounting courses. Exams are written by her so the questions are quite different than the textbook. She gave candy at halloween.

Laurette is a good professor. She replies to any questions that are sent by email as quick as she can. Some of the concepts taught in class can be difficult to grasp. If you are late for class you do not get the chapter notes until the break, so it is advised to arrive on time and not to miss a class.

Laurette makes you work for it! She will test you on your actual understanding of the material instead of laying it out in an easy format. Very kind and open person, available for help at office hours, but will not give out answer keys, so you have to go in and see her. I do not know if I would take her again, as it was tough, but I did well.

She uses an asynchronous format for us to learn which isn't bad considering how we can learn at our own pace, however if you are not motivated, then you will not do well in this class. Took her online class which was an asynchronous format, best for people who like to study at their own pace. Make sure to keep up with weekly pearson assignments as they are worth a chunk of your grade. Three "midterms" with 3 chapters tested on each; fairly similar to pearson homework! Final was a bit tough but again, similar to homework assigns

Took ACCT 3320 with professor Korman. Two midterms, one final and weekly homework assignments were everything that was marked. Beware that the midterms are worth 20% each and the final is worth 50%.

The lectures are top-notch. The Pearson assignments are good practice for the exams. The Final is 50% and is cumulative.

Professor Korman gives amazing lectures so the material is crystal clear. study hard go through her notes and exercise you will do pretty good in the class!

One of the best professors across all of KPU. She posts prep sheets and answer keys to help students prepare for their exam, along with brief exercises from the textbook. Would highly recommend if you hate readings, she has notes for each chapter
